Chapter 723: [Despara]

Chapter 723: [Despara]

“A good one sir.”

“The Rivers of Hell is a grave to no one but you, sire.”

Although due to the fear born with their hearts, the crew had thoughts of pushing Allen in the sea, because of the latter’s indifference and hedonistic feeling they didn’t share especially within these dangerous waters, even though he would probably think of it as taking a bath, they could only sigh and replied with similar eagerness. Trying to bootlick, wanting to gain favor from such person, or else they might find themselves, bait for the fish.

… But within their hearts…

--They all have the thoughts of pushing him into the river and leave him behind.

“Kueh, he brought the Mischievous Wench all this way, we’ll just have to demonstrate our power.”

“The river is deep. He could just slide out and go missing.”

“The Captain!”

“Captain I now offer you to the Rivers of Hell”

The Mischievous Wench crew’s loyalty after sailing for a long-distance!

Baam!

The Mischievous Wench shook.

The Left side was hit!

An iceberg plunged into the side of the ship and tore a deep gouge.

One of the troubles brought by the Hell Rivers.

The state of the Mischievous Wench had steadily worsened as they went along the river. The Centaur; Torun checked the condition of the hull and then said;

“Captain, we might have to suspend navigating to the destination. More and more icebergs floating along, they are! Inevitable, I say! A big iceberg will hit the ship and will immediately throw us to the deepest abyss.”

That an iceberg could hit was intimidating enough. But there were small and large chunks of ice floating in the Hell River that continued to hit the ship thus accumulating damage. Paradoxically, the seaweed that was stuck to them prevented more damage.

“Makes no worries! The icebergs are constantly coming from the river, eventually, they will have to stop. My dear Mischievous Wench is not that fragile…!”

While laughing, Allen responded. Then, he suddenly thought; “Well doesn’t that also mean that we’re close to land? If you look at the chart you should see that a large river flows through the land. We’ll be able to get to DESPARA through there.”

“Won’t it also be frozen?”

“Captain, I think this is dangerous!”

“Dangerous?”

Allen grinned.

"Aye. There's no adventure without danger. Besides, the wind's on our side, boys! That's all we need!"

Up north the glaciers are constantly growing. The cold they caught was evidence of the water freezing. Then, of course, the rivers would be frozen as well. It would be better to walk than go by boat.

“Wouldn’t be better to walk?”

“I don’t know what the captains thinking. But one thing for sure, the captain is clearly mad?"

“It’s not like you can sail on a frozen river.”

The crew eventually become busy with the increasing amount of icebergs, but eventually, as Allen go used to steering the wheel, he was getting the timing down to avoid the floating blocks of ice. But when they arrived there was no frozen river to be found. Thick, white snow had piled up on the land like mountains, but the river remains unfrozen.

As expected of DESPARA!

Though, contrary to the chilling temperature of the place, the temperature around the Mischievous Wench felt much warmer for some reason. This is because Allen's power was warming the entire ship to avoid being frozen by the cold. It would be a problem otherwise.

“We’re almost on land, boys…!”

Allen cried out as his gaze narrowed… in front of him, was an island covered with a large gloomy forest. Even from their distance, he can already see large bodies covered in hair with horns roaming around the bay. The monsters were very intimidating. Wild tribes that ran around with axes and ice weapons, crying bloody murder.

The most dangerous land within the Demon World, where only the strong roamed freely.

This is DESPARA!

Demons that wanted to land here to hunt would have to be insane.

If you do not have confidence in your power, then you don’t need to step foot in that land, or else you will just become a pitiful prey in just a matter of seconds!

… …

From the foggy area to the thick forest infested lands of DESPARA, this is the real Dog eat Dog world of the Demon World!

Only the strong stayed in this place, the powerful rules!

In this land, Mountains sat spewing out smoke and lava and the gloomy forests seemed alive, eyeing every traveler, looking for opportunities to snatch you and gobble you whole. Not only the ghosts, monsters, and demons are the enemies in this place, but it was also the land, the forest, the trees--everything…!

If you ever placed your guard down, you would never know how you died…!

And this is Allen and Asmodeus destination—

Before Allen and the others was a world that filled their eyes, with vast lands stretching endlessly across the horizon. Nevertheless, despite the chilling river, the temperature within the land was completely different.

The entire land was covered in unfathomably deep chasms and volcanic region that was blazing like that of the fiery world. It's as if the entire volcanic region was covered and protected by a cold barrier. And in addition, these chasms didn't appear to be formed by nature, but by some kind of frightening war, which had smashed the land up like that.

Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.

This entire land seemed to have turned into a scene of desolation, with the air giving off the scent of the ancient antiquity, making everything clearly appear old and ancient.

The Demon Capital.

The land that would never change no matter how many years passed by!

Allen swept his gaze far and wide, before quickly retracting back.

“We are finally here—no, should I say, I’m finally back.”

Allen mutters with a faint smile as he quickly set out to observe the area's monsters.

Apart from the atmosphere of antiquity, just a short boat ride revealed many more monsters than the known kinds. Hairy bears roaming around with frozen white skin or fiery fur, leopard-like rock-hard bollards that roared unexpectedly, and demons with gleaming red eyes and powerful demonic energies that seemed alive and wriggling.

Barbarians among the Demonic Tribes, acting like fantasy Ogres and Trolls, wielding large axes, waiting in the shadows for their prey.

Lava spiked where the flame giants were.

Their body consisting of mostly lava fire giants!

Out of the land, cracked areas spewed out steam.

There, fire salamander-like demons and other monsters subject to the firelights lived.

Allen took in a deep breath of air, seemingly being able to smell the scent of blood that was perfused into the air. At this moment, a cold and fierce glint had started to gradually awaken in those beautiful gleaming red pupils of his.

The originally handsome face of the youth had an additional shade of asterism. Compared to his gentle nature in front of his family and friends, the current him had clearly turned somewhat different from the him of then.

Beside him, Asmodeus could also sense this faint change in him. Looking at his face with her beautiful eyes, Asmodeus gave a smile.

At this moment, the current Allen gave her extremely familiar feelings, since the latter always had such an appearance back in the old days, being as cold and sharp as a knife's edge. It was merely the current him who treasured the people around him, which had suppressed this incisive edge of Dante.

He might be human, but him, being called the Demon Prince, was never for a show!

However, at this very instant, the youth which had caused many Gods and Demons to tremble in fear once, started to completely release the things that he had suppressed…

This is the true Dante!

The one who rebelled against God because he sympathizes with the demons, understanding the good in them and sheltered them.

The one who created the 72 Pillars.

Dante, the direct incarnation of Solomon and bearing his will:

{The Demon Prince of Change}!

... ...

Giving a lazy stretch, Allen took a slow step out.

He maintained a calm and tranquil expression as along with Asmodeus, they started to walk through the gloomy and terrifying forest after depositing the Mischievous Wench to his ‘Innate World’.

This was clearly in extreme disharmony with the exceedingly bloody and horrifying atmosphere around the land they had anchored into.

I’m coming… Vergil…!

The corner of his lips curled upwards as he entered the dark forest where roars and cries of unknown beasts echoed from time to time.

… …

Due to the fact that Allen didn’t want to rush things, and instead want to observe DESPARA, their traveling speed was not that noticeably fast.

They maintained their walking speed at a certain threshold, all while able to pick up rare interesting, and precious plants and herbs, minerals, and fruits along the way. Indeed, Demon World is quite an interesting place—precious materials are quite abundant, probably because only a few people delve into this kind of thing, and most people focused on increasing their strength instead and fight.

Alchemists and Craftsman are the minority in the Demon World—well, I guess that’s what you would expect from a Barbarian Land.

When Allen and Asmodeus passed a prairie filled with striking purple-green Grass that covers the entire area, his brows furrowed slightly.

In the midst of the grass that grew to the waist of an adult, demon and monster corpses randomly lay about, scattered. From a glance, the majority of demons who died were at last Baron rank Demons, while a minority consisted of Marquis or Earl ranked Demons. Powerhouses even in Hell.

What happened here?

Going several hundred yards deeper into the prairie, the thick grass suddenly grew restless. At the sight, Asmodeus walking behind him suddenly grew serious and her steps increase in speed, walking side by side with Allen. The smell of blood is so thick…

Soon after, two three-meter tall Demons rushed out from the thicket, their appearances extremely unsightly. Bloodstains littered their clothing, and their weapons were no longer on their persons. When the two of them noticed Allen and Asmodeus, without hesitation, both of them immediately rushed toward them.

After the two demons ran out of the grass, a group of Blue-eyed Steel Demonic Wolves similarly came running, closely pursuing the two demons. The Blue-eyed Demonic Wolves howled as they chased their prey as if announcing the location of their quarry to others of their pack.

[Blue-eyed Demonic Wolf]

Level 2

HP 600/630

A notification window appeared in front of Allen’s eyes. His lips curled into a wry smile. The moment he had obtained the [Fragment of Akashic Key] Uriel’s advancement became even more evident. And it was even able to turn reality into a game system in Allen’s eyes. Though there are several limitations compared to the Game System back on Earth, it was still an interesting event—becoming a player once again.

Lv2—it looks weak but this is in the eyes of Uriel. And it is based on half of Allen’s standard ability without any boost from his physiques. This meant that lv1 are monsters that possess powers half of Allen’s Superhuman Standard powers, minus the Godly Physiques.

Truly Hell Monsters… even just a random mob. If Mia and the others came, they would be defeated in a matter of seconds…

Allen’s expression was indifferent but Asmodeus become cold. She immediately understood the two demons' intentions; they wanted to shift their calamity onto them.

“You Brats, count yourselves as unlucky for meeting us. Since both of you are going to die anyway, you might as well help us lure this wolf pack!”

A demon with bull-like horns, long green hair, and snake tongue slithering looked towards Asmodeus and Allen, laughing grimly. Saying so, the speed at which the two ran at the two increased somewhat slightly.

However, they greatly underestimated the two ‘brats’.

Allen’s face remained bored, but Asmodeus suddenly appeared in front of Allen. Her eyes narrowed in icy coldness.

When the players were about to run past them, Asmodeus snorted and her hands immediately latched onto the two’s arms. With her superb Strength, she immediately tossed the demons back to the pack of wolves that rushed ahead like a pack of garbage.

“Pathetic trash, how dare you schemed against my Master!”

Asmodeus gnashed her teeth in hate.

Before the demons could even react, they landed in the middle of the wolf pack. Their bodies smashed onto a few of the Blue-eyed Demonic Wolves as they landed, eliciting a few anguished wails from the wolves.

“You…” before the demon could even curse, the surrounding Blue-eyed Demonic Wolves snapped at his neck and limbs. His flesh being torn apart, the Demon’s inherent toughness and durability was a paper before the Demon Wolves, as he let out an agonizing wail.

The other demon beside him was naturally not spared this fate, and very quickly, the wolf pack finished him off as well.

Asmodeus sneered in contempt and disgust. If the two of them had run in a different direction, they might have had the slight hope of surviving.

After all, even if they are demons, not like Allen and Asmodeus would care about low-lives like them. However, instead of doing so, they made the worst possible decision of trying to drag her master into the mess. They had absolutely no idea that, when compared to the pack of wolves chasing them, the two ‘brats’ they are trying to make into their scapegoats were much more terrifying.

While the wolf pack was attacking the two demons, Allen made his move from behind Asmodeus. Like a fierce tiger released from its cage, the golden colored arc of lightning loosed an earth-shaking howl as it pierced the bodies of the Blue-eyed Demonic Wolves. Then, in just a matter of seconds, the Blue-eyed Demonic Wolves died instantly, and only piles of burnt meat remained.

Although Allen had killed over ten Blue-eyed Demonic Wolves with a single attack, he was already beyond ordinary God Level. Even if Uriel turned reality before him into a game, the total EXP of several hundred points coming from Hell Beasts were still negligible to him. Besides that was the fact that there are no loots or any kind of drops as well…

After harvesting the monster materials, which was a few times higher than normal beasts from the outside world, Allen and Asmodeus continued on their way.

After a few minutes, Allen and Asmodeus departed the Demonic Wolf Prairie, which they have even encountered the Lv8 Boss Class Monster, Steel Fanged Demonic Wolf King.

Slaughtering the pack and able to harvest good materials as well as obtained golds and jewels, and many magical artifacts from the Wolf’s Lair, the two continued to pass through Abyssal Hawk Death Canyon, Orbus Lake, and many other high-level demon areas.
