Chapter 696: [The Luxuria County]

Chapter 696: [The Luxuria County]

Three days later, Allen and Asmodeus finally emerged from the central forest and two days after that…… they were met with awe-inspiring sight: before them lay a magnificent city of the Luxuria County, similar, if not larger, in size than any of those in the mortal world such as San Francisco or Los Angeles.

The Luxuria County was quite vast, completely outside of Allen’s expectation. Actually, the entire city was surrounded by huge barriers and there was only one gate to enter it. Despite being barbarians of the Demon World, they are still quite territorial, building walls around their entire City. The scenery, as well as the atmosphere, was like that of the Medieval Era—

The gate was gigantic and majestic. It was made of incredibly strong precious materials. The gate had a width and a height of several hundred meters. At the top of the gate, there were multiple demon guards with spears. The Luxuria County was encircled by a huge moat filled with water and the only gate was accessible only after crossing a large stone bridge. This was the only way to access the city.

“What do we do, should we enter or not?” Allen looked at Asmodeus and asked.

“Of course, this can be considered my domain… Master doesn’t have to worry,” Asmodeus smiled happily.

At first glance, the Luxuria County seemed no different than a city of a Human Civilization, other than the occasional noble demon walking by with leashed Demon Beasts. There were even those coming straight out from fantasy settings such as creatures like Orcs, Goblins, and Imps. Although some looked like a Heteromorphic race, looking extremely odd or strange, like parts of beasts, insects or just undead skeletons and many more, horror-Halloween costumes—there were also those who looked extremely humane. Only, they possess bat-like demonic features such as bat-like wings, horns, tails and many more.

And these few human-like demons are those considered as noble or high-class Demons and Devils!

They are the top of the food chain in this world…!

From their outer appearances alone, it’s very difficult to differentiate high-level Demons from humans. Only their skin is much whiter than a human’s and they are far more beautiful and good looking than normal humans—was it better to call it, devilish-looking…? Though, from what Allen knows, Demon Hierarchy can be seen clearly in the colors of their eyes.

The lowest ranking demons have Black-Eyes—which was the most common and standard class of demons. Next, were the Red-Eyed Demons, then those handpicked by the Demon Princes and Lucifer himself, the elites of the Demon World, known as the Knights of Hell, which possess Purple-colored Eyes—and next to it, which was considered rulers of each county, the Seven Demon Princes!

Each Demon Princes have Yellow-colored eyes, signifying their status.

Other than that…was the primordial, or those considered…Ancient Demons with white eyes. These included Lucifer and Lilith…even the infamous Alastair, in that matter!

Although Lucifer was considered a Demon Prince, he was above other Demon Princes and was known as the true Demon King. If Vergil is known as the Demon King, then, Lucifer would become the Demon Emperor—his status was worshipped as above any Demon in the Demon World!

In any case, those possessing White-Eyes, they are Demons who were known as terrifyingly powerful and they rank the highest in the hierarchy of Hell, and were standing above all Demons in the Demon World…! They can control and kill lower Demons with just their will and gaze!

As for Allen and Vergil… they are quite a special case, especially Allen as he possesses countless Eye Powers, including [Setsurigan], his eyes had already evolved into something new—!

As the two of them walked through the City, Allen suddenly noticed that the people around them all looked at them with strange eyes, some were even a little scared. Allen frowned—did they know about him…? Allen turned at who didn’t care about the attention they were receiving, “…Did they recognize you…?” he asked.

Asmodeus shook her head, “Of course not. Although they know my name they should not recognize my true appearance… they are just lowly grunts who have no right to see the face of us, the True Devils,” she answered as if it was a matter of fact. But Allen was still unreconciled. Seeing this, Asmodeus smiled faintly, “…they would only be able to recognize me if I shout out my name, or release my aura—but when not, they would only think of us, as High Ranking Demons… but that is enough for them to be afraid of us…”

“…was that so?”

Asmodeus giggled, “Unlike other races, the hierarchy is very important in the Demon World, no, in the Demon Clan. Although every day was filled with chaos and conflict, our sense of hierarchy is even stronger than the Mortals or Celestials—even being one rank higher gives you the power to crush people to death, without any care. It’s because of this that the system of the Demon Clan is quite stagnant, and that’s why we never really developed.”

“… …”

“Although, if there was a war against other races…such as the Celestials, this kind of aspect of us can easily gather manpower and force without any problem, looking as if we are united…but we are actually not. We are just gathered for our own benefits, entertainment, and etc…” Asmodeus patiently explained with a sigh, “The Demon World has never been truly united…even in the time of the first Demon Emperor, the Great Satan Judas, the Accuser—just one tyrant commanding his people through fear and power… because of this, unlike the mortals rapid advancement in culture and everything, and Celestials who were also slowly advancing forward despite the turtle-like speed, Demon World…is like a stagnant pool of water. It’s never changing… Time seemed to stop…”

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

“… …”

“…This place only breeds chaos, and chaos, and more chaos…” Asmodeus smiled wryly. “…this is also the reason why Demons like invading other worlds-because of jealousy, because of greed…”

“Then…. why not have changes? Learn…I don’t think Demons are that dumb,” Allen frowned.

Asmodeus chuckled. “Master is joking…”

“…??”

Asmodeus glanced at the passing people who look like they just came from a Halloween party—though, for Allen’s eyes, it looks like visiting a red-light district as there were many people wearing skimpy clothes with barely any fabric, “…trying to advance the culture of this world is like a building a sandcastle in a shore, with large tidal waves coming over every minute, destroying whatever you build in the next moment…it’s a waste of time…”

“Is it because of the season changing?” Allen asked.

Had the [Original Sin] contaminated the Demon World this far…?

Asmodeus nodded her head, “…one of the reason, I suppose. In every season, all will be consumed by the same emotion and feeling and chaos will then breed…in a never-ending cycle,”

Allen nodded his head. Then, his gaze turned towards the sky—a bloody sun that never goes down, like some sort of an endless light bulb…a pair of moons that revolve around the world, like a pair of lovers chasing each other, and was, in fact, a timer for each season to occur—

Indeed, the Demon World is not good for livelihood, much less, if the seven cycles of sin continued—well, not like it would change anything…

Allen shrugs his shoulders. There was a myriad of restaurants and shops. The city was incredibly lively. Allen thought that it was much better than he had expected. Then, he pointed to the building just ahead of them and said “Love, look. Isn’t that building a restaurant?”

“I think so, does master want to stop for a while,”

“Hm, that place should be quite a good place to gather information on the Demon World’s current affairs,”

“As master wishes,”

Allen and Asmodeus walked towards the building when suddenly, they found themselves surrounded. “It seems like you have something good there, lad,” a reptilian humanoid demon muttered with an obscene look as he stared at Asmodeus, who was staring at them with an indifferent expression. “… That girl doesn’t seem too bad!”

The demon was pointing at Asmodeus with his dagger. At that moment, all the other demons laughed evilly.

“Indeed! Yes! We want to talk to that pretty girl!” said the group in unison while thinking of other obscene things.

“…so much for being scared,” Allen sigh.

Asmodeus giggled, “Well, just like how there were also idiots in Humans and Celestials, why don’t did you think Demons wouldn’t have…? As long as we won’t release our aura, they would think themselves infallible with their meager strength and just think of us as paper tigers…isn’t that truly fascinating…?”

Asmodeus giggled with a girly laugh.

“…is this also probably why the Demon World was full of bat-shit~” Allen sigh… then, he turned towards the group of demons blocking their path and muttered with a faint smile, “I don’t know who you are, nor care. But as a proper gentleman, I’ll give you one piece of advice, buzz of before things get ugly…!”

“….?!!”

“I’m really short-tempered and impatient…” Allen smiled wryly.

His expression gives off a boy-next-door kind of aura.

“Hey, lad, what did you say?! It seems like you want to act tough~ You want to die…” Every single stupid demon was looking at Allen furiously after hearing his words. “Indeed, we have to kill that guy and take the girl to make us happy!”

“This is stupid… oh well, Asmo, step back for a moment, I’ll talk to these guys for a while.” Allen was standing close to the leader of the demon group as he spoke with a cold tone. Asmodeus giggled as she steps back, not caring.

At this moment, “You want to die!” An monkey-like Demon with a long dagger jumped towards Allen while stabbing with his dagger, which emitted a whistling sound as it pierced through the air.

Woooosh. Suddenly there was a dazzling light that filled the air. Allen had unsheathed the five to six-foot-long odachi that had suddenly materialize on his waist. No one had seen his movement and he slowly began to sheath his sword.

Suddenly blood splashed everywhere from the demon’s throat. The demon was dead.

Allen’s speed was godly and his speed alone proved that he was an extremely powerful demon who was just masquerading as a human, hiding his horns, tail, and wings. The Demons in the vicinity were struck dumb. With his speed and strength, Allen’s Odachi that looks like a certain someone’s Masamune could still carry out attacks very quickly. His sword skills were extremely high and he would often kill people with a single strike from his sword.

How was this possible?

How had that demon been killed with a single movement?

“That was all…? I thought he was a good speaker. To think he was no good at all… Give me someone else to talk too, alright?” said Allen indifferently towards the Demons. Allen even noticed how young some of them were—and judging from their demonic auras, surely they are just new mortal souls turned demons. But that was out of Allen’s care…

On the other hand, it seemed like only one sword strike had been enough to scare the majority of the members of the demon group. Their faces paled in an instant as they step back. They were unable to guess what Allen’s demon ranking was as he had only used a single quick strike. They only knew that he could use his sword extremely quickly to deal with lethal strikes.

“My friend, I think there is some misunderstanding here.” said the leader of the demons in a low voice to Allen which showed how terrified he was. Allen was stupefied.

Allen was stunned and said: “Didn’t you want to kill me a moment ago? Didn’t you have some thoughts about my companion…? I’m waiting for you. Let’s have a talk, shall we… I like talking,”

The Demon leader frowned, biting his lips he steps back, and then, “Hmph, since you are being like this then don’t blame us for being impolite.” He then looked at all the other demons and said: “Kill him.” Woooosh. After those words drop, five demons immediately rushed towards Allen at full speed. Allen was then surrounded by the attacks from five different directions.

“Die.” A demon had swung down his large axe which was diffusing an extremely strong magic power towards Allen’s body. It was strong and powerful for quite a mere demon grunt—probably, at 2nd level, of all Demons were divided into 10 levels. Quite praiseworthy—However the difference if compared to Allen’s was like heaven and earth.

“Die.” Another voice filled the air. A long sword was spinning in the air which looked incredibly dangerous. All the demons with their maximum speed were simultaneously moving towards Allen to kill him. Clang!! Allen suddenly jumped up in the air. While it looked like he was seemingly floating in the air, he adopted a strange position. At that moment, he was at the same height as the demons flying in the air.

“….Heaven Swallow,” Allen’s extra-long sword was glowing and releasing a dazzling light into the atmosphere. It released an incredible amount of deadly magic power which created a vortex in the air. In the blink of an eye, the demons were surrounded by an incredible amount of magical energy that was similar yet not similar to demonic energy.

Then, Allen’s magic power suddenly had the shape of a magnificent arc as it slashed through the air. All the demons were falling down lifelessly from the air one after the other.

With a single sword strike, all of them had been killed!
