Chapter 508: [ Field of Lightning ]

“… …” Ouyang Yishuang was startled by being used from both sides, then she let out an amused chuckle.

“Indeed, judging from master’s temperament, she wouldn’t do anything evil nor let it passed by…”

“… …” Venerable Passing stilled for a moment before letting out a loud laugh. Interesting… as expected of him, his temperament was unique among his age!

What he said was actually being slapped on his face. Though, he indeed has something behind his words just now. Still, the Sect Master showed a bright smile, but Laura and Rebellion didn’t miss him leaking a bit of sweat on his face.

Ouyang Yishuang, on the other hand, didn’t seem to notice anything and just continued with a bright smile. “Master is pure and beautiful, outside and inside. Master despises evil thus for her to follow under a wicked man’s rule is something I just couldn’t imagine. And so, I believe in the Grand Master’s character. I trust him!”

Allen smiled faintly—this woman is too pure, or should I say, naïve…? Well, to easily trust someone is you just met for the very first time is something incomprehensible!

Does it occur to her that maybe, just maybe her master is being controlled by something or even being brainwashed…?

As Allen was worried about her for a completely different reason, Ouyang Yishuang tilted her head as something seemed to have caught her attention.

“But young master, this might be presumptuous of me ask so suddenly, and I sure hope that you don’t take offense of this… but what are you going to do with those slaves…?” Ouyang Yishuang cast a complicated glance towards the seven people behind Allen’s group. Judging from their current appearance, all of them are slaves… but without a collar.

Just this could obviously cause someone’s concern or worry. Furthermore, if one looks closely, all of their faces were white as a sheet of paper. Thus, can be easily surmised that they seem to have just undergone a painful experience a few minutes ago… but what is Allen doing with those people…?

Allen looks at her and answers without hesitation: “Just an assurance…”

“Assurance…?”

“Yeah, truthfully… I am not without a problem as of currently.”

“…??”

Allen smiled faintly. His smile disappeared and turned melancholic as he stood there, looking at the horizon. The sky was clear and the horizon spacious, helping somewhat to reduce his moodiness.

“…You can say that my life is hanging every minute. That if I don’t advance in strength, my life would surely be over before I knew it…”

“Young Lord…?” What is he talking about? Venerable Passing and Ouyang Yishuang stared at the young man who was standing in front of them and was currently shrouded in a layer of golden sunlight, caught in a sudden surprise. His silhouette seemed desolate.

Venerable Passing did not have a chance to speak before he heard him continue. “…I don’t intend to hide this from you or deceive you. I had very powerful enemies out there, all waiting for me to show my tail… and I had thought I would be able to shoulder it alone, sadly… I was mistaken.”

Allen smiled bitterly. “There’s a saying that says, ‘Quality beat Quantity’—but that also goes for the opposite. Facing them alone is too much for even someone like me… and the worst was that I’m starting to say my limit. I had always thought I was already quite above everyone else but a few days ago, reality reminded me that I can’t be contented yet, that I was still nothing if I wanted to achieve my goal…”

“… …?!”

“Indeed, just what you are thinking right now—I’m indeed, intending to build a small force… at least, a few people that I trust and share my burden with.”

“Young master, if you just needed people to help you, I—” Ouyang Yishuang grasped her hands in front of her chest and muttered. But Allen shook her head. Allen smiled warmly and happily as he caressed Ouyang Yishuang’s hair like he was pacifying a little girl—causing Ouyang Yishuang to feel as if she had been struck by lightning and her face turned crimson.

Right as she was about to say something, Allen’s very clear voice with a hint of laughter in it cut her off.

“No, Yishuang… I’m happy for your thoughts. And that is enough for me, Maria was also happy and proud of you. But, when the time comes, you wouldn’t be able to help me at all…probably. Because; you would also become busy protecting what you wanted to protect. And I don’t want you to suffer and from being unable to choose from which you should protect first—your promise to me? Or the people you deemed very important.” Allen spoke in a low, unhurried tone.

—Gentle and seemed to be saying as if afraid that the receiver would misunderstand it in a bad meaning. But it was precisely that indistinct quality that made it overwhelmingly delightful and melted the soul.

It was early morning, several degrees below zero. And probably due to the fact that they were high up in the mountain, a bit of mist and cold could be felt as the wind passed through their location. But as she listened to him, as if he was consoling a child that could not do anything, that was helpless to help and yet was suffering from the guilt that would beard down at her because of her incapability, it was almost as if she was sitting around the fire on a warm night. She unexpectedly had a feeling of peace and security, where there was no need for her to think about anything at all.

This was the amazing allure of voice.

Allen’s charming voice that, the instant it was heard, any girl would be done for.

Listening to him, forget about Ouyang Yishuang who was receiving it in 100% close damage, thus unable to ignore and negate Allen’s high charm, Laura, Rebellion and even all the girls behind them, watching Allen closely felt their hearts thumping wildly

What a nuclear level weapon…!

Ignoring their exaggerating reactions, Allen continued with a wry smile. “Besides, when I leave, would you come with me at that time…? Will you leave this place and follow me…?”

“… I,” Ouyang Yishuang was caught off guard. Her eyes widened and her mouth opened and closed but no words came out. She didn’t know how to answer…

She was completely dumbstruck.

“I guess not,” Allen smiled faintly. That’s the answer…

“These enemies… it seems like they must be a powerful force then,” Venerable Passing who was just listening up until now finally spoke with a frown.

“I’m talking about the Demons…” Allen didn’t feel the need to hide it. Not like it matters…

"“Demons?!”” Both Venerable Passing and Ouyang Yishuang who had finally shaken off herself from the reverie, look at Allen in shock.

“That’s right… my enemies are Demons…” Allen shrugged nonchalantly. His tone sounded a little resigned. “You should have received the report above the invasion of the Demons… the Divine Continent should still be somehow untouched but that is only because the Demons focused their force intending to end the God Continent first. But who knows when they would change their minds and start looking at this piece of land…?”

“…?!!”

“Demons are starting to become even greedier than before. The God Continent had taken a massive damage from their attacks and slowly withered—who knows how long they would still be able to stand and endure…”

“Is what you said, real, young lord…?” Venerable Passing’s expression darkened. Indeed, this was not the first time he had heard of it. He had received such report saying such matter but it was not to the point that Allen had expressed it gravely.

Did Demons become even stronger than what they anticipated…?

“Ah, the Jade Emperor should also know this matter…” Allen was somewhat more formal now.

“I see… so, that is the reason why the Jade Emperor forbids senseless wars and battles and even ordered an immediate annihilation of all Evil and Dark Sects in the Continent…!? To prepare for the upcoming enemies and make sure that the country would be united and fight together…”

“Who knows… I heard that the current Jade Emperor is wise… he had probably planned ahead…”

“Then, the young lord’s reason for coming here…”

“No, no, you misunderstand…” Allen chuckled after seeing the people’s strange expression in front of him. “My arrival in this land is accidental… that is the fact. I was fighting someone, injured terribly, almost costing my life… and then was thrown in here… as for the people behind me, you don’t need to worry about them causing trouble… from now on, they are my responsibility…” Hearing such a straightforward reason coming from Allen’s mouth, actually made Venerable Passing’s chaotic heart calm down.

Indeed, from the beginning, he had not seen any kind of deceptive behavior from Allen. This kind of feeling made him calmly believe everything he had said. Finally, it was slowly developing into a sense of trust.

He had experienced people deceiving each other more than anybody. He had spent countless hundreds of years already and even in among the Righteous Sects, deceiving and lying was not uncommon. Every Sect wanted to become the most powerful, the number one… so of course, every Sect was an enemy of each other!

Every meeting they wore a different mask to meet people with the same kind of mask. All trying to surpass each one of their supposed to be brothers and trying to outclass each other, leading to a nonsensical competitive grudge and hate. Thus, Venerable Passing would never believe anyone so easily and only trusted his one; instinct. Otherwise, he would not have reached where he was today.

But Allen, his words, and gestures seemed to have a kind of strange magic to it that made it that he could not help but want to believe him……

Although this was his first time meeting him. And without a doubt, he believes Allen is someone he should… make her granddaughter AVOID at all cost…!!!

Venerable Passing turned and glanced at someone standing beside him and couldn’t help but feel complicated.

What was going on? This girl who always acted so high and mighty ever since our first encounter, was now getting flustered over meeting a boy, being at a loss over that wonderful feeling of heart racing...

Was this what people called charm?

For him to have managed to make this woman display such expressions and behavior of girlish inexperience—

Witnessing this scene, Venerable Passing sighed. Now, he was really certain that letting her Granddaughter meet this kind of boy was something he should never, ever do as… a Grandfather!

“…It would be reassuring if the young lord says that…” Feeling complicated inwardly, Venerable Passing nodded his head understandingly.

However, although he was fearing Allen in that kind of aspect. But he was certain that Allen was without a doubt a very trustworthy man!

From Allen’s eyes, he could see they were plain and clear, there was not a single trace of abnormality. To Venerable Passing with his vast experience in reading people, to be able to say this with that kind of expression……It meant that it was impossible for him to be lying.

Thus, he believes him!

Then, suddenly a sudden thought struck him.

“But young lord, can you please quench this old man’s curiosity…? The Young lord is from the God Clan but why do I sense Qi from you? And not just that, the young Lord was even emitting an aura of a Mid rank Emperor realm…” Like Allen said, he had given Venerable Passing a feeling that he could trust him.

But being willing to believe doesn't mean he would fully trust him.

Allen was so mysterious that he seemed to be covered in a dense fog. But this fog, it was at the level that normal people couldn’t understand how high it was……

What kind of person was he?

“I apologize but my office forbids me from revealing certain things…” Allen chuckled.

“…Oh, it’s fine then…” Venerable smiled unmeant. Although he was disappointed but secrets are meant to be secrets…

Knowing more would only lead to trouble…

“In any case, the young lord is always welcome in the Sect…”

“Thank you Venerable,” Allen smiled as he cupped his fist. He then turned around and smiled at Laura; “Then, Laura, let them rest in the castle… for now, I’m going to continue my stroll~”

Laura nodded happily. Her glass-like eyes were filled with softness as she replied with a gentle “yes”.

Then, without further ado, she bowed at Allen then to Venerable and Ouyang Yishuang before turning around and walks away. The slaves, although exhausted, casting one last glance at Allen, they didn’t tarry any longer and hurriedly followed Laura.

“That’s right, Venerable… I heard about a training field called, [ Field of Lightning ]… can I have the honor to experience this?” Done with the serious stuff, Allen returned to smiling and acting casually.

“Of course, if the young lord wants it… then, it was not a problem…” Venerable Passing nodded his head without much pretense. At this moment, he seemed to have gained a bit of understanding on this youth called; [ Ye Wushuang ]—though that name should be a pseudo-name but not asking that is out of courtesy.

“Thank you Venerable!”

“So this is the Field of Lightning?” Allen stared at the distorted space and felt a terrifying fluctuation emanating from within.

It was really amazing… to be able to have such space…

The place he as at right now, was a super-sized stone platform that was suspended in mid-air. A dark sky covered the platform. The space there was showing signs of distortions as if it was the entrance to a World of Lightning. Lightning occasionally flashed by and deep rumbling sounds would resound from that distorted space.

“It was a special dimension created by the founder of the Passing Cloud Sect… it helps disciples who have the affinity of lightning to temper them using lightning energy.” Venerable Passing explained.

Looking at the Field of Lightning, Allen’s body was suddenly issuing a crackling sound and electric sparks started emitting from within him. This sudden event startled Venerable Passing and Ouyang Yishuang.

So the young lord was a lightning practitioner…?

And not just mere lightning practitioner… this energy…

Venerable Passing’s eyes flashed a shocking expression as he suddenly felt as if the youth standing before him wasn’t a person but a lightning itself! His very being was composed not of flesh and bones but lightning energy… such power…!?

It was really something incomprehensible and hard to understand even for him…

“Ohh, my body was actually reacting… incredible…!” Allen let out a sigh as he took a deep breath to calm down his wild energy. He glanced at Venerable Passing, “I want to experience the tempering of this lightning field if Venerable Passing doesn’t refuse~”

“Of course, of course, go on… from now on, you are also a part of the Passing Cloud Sect. Everything here is at your disposal, young lord…”

“Many thanks, Venerable…!” Allen didn’t care about him being suddenly turned into a disciple of the Passing Cloud Sect, in any case, this wouldn’t do anything against him…

As Allen was about to go with Rebellion, suddenly he recalled something. “Yishuang,” he called out.

“Yes, young master,” Ouyang Yishuang stepped forward. A gentle smile surfaced on her face. As this smile emerged, many people nearby were completely mesmerized. She was really… terrifying beautiful.

A real celestial beauty…!

Allen flicked his finger and a green colored ball the size of a baseball appeared. Seeing this, Ouyang Yishuang’s smile stiffened. Then, after a few moments, her eyes widened in shock. She looks at the green ball of energy in excitement and then looks at Allen in pleasant surprise as well as doubt.

“Maria wanted me to give this to you, as thanks…” Allen smiled as he flicked his finger and the green ball of energy floated towards her.

“This…” Ouyang Yishuang gulped as she stared at the green ball of energy on her hands. She can feel the boundless power coming from nature within it. She was sure that this seemingly small ball of energy was equivalent to hundreds of monster crystals worth of energy.

And most importantly, this is pure nature energy and thus, she wouldn’t have any trouble in absorbing it, even not needing purification—because, this energy was the purest she can get for her affinity.

“Thank the young master! Thank the master very much!!” Ouyang Yishuang bowed excitedly at Allen.

“No need, you deserve it… in fact, I should be the one thanking you~” Allen smiled. He waved his hand and immediately turned into a beam of light as he flew directly into the distorted space.

Outside of the distorted space, there seemed to be a faint Spiritual Energy light barrier. When Allen’s body was about to enter, he felt a little bit of resistance. However, he quickly overcame it—

This light barrier only prevented students that were beneath the Emperor realm from entering. For Allen, it was nothing.

Venerable Passing and the overly excited Ouyang Yishuang look at Allen with a faint smile. Only after a moment, they turned around and headed in the opposite direction.
