-Vol 4: To The North Pole!-
-Vera’s Power!-
Kenshin was surprised at how calm Vera was. Then he suddenly realized that Vera was actually an extremely powerful hunter who had probably surpassed level 100. Rumours say that those who exceed level 100 could no longer be counted among normal humans.
Not only their power would have a qualitative change, but also their bodies had an evolutionary change. They would have a fundamental shift in their body, down to their DNA sequence. They could also pass on these superior changes to their children after that.
Most of the famous and powerful hunters tend to wait until they are beyond 100 before thinking about children. Besides, some say that after crossing level 100, the body regains its youthfulness slowly, over time.
It had been observed that those children who were born after their parents crossing level 100, would tend to have advanced bodies and intelligence. Their bodies were stronger than normal children, and they were as strong as a low-level hunter from their birth. Even if they don’t participate in the battle and use skills, their levels would still automatically rise up to a certain point.
Scientists call these babies as NeoGen Humans or new generation humans.
In the record, currently there were 57 NeoGen Humans exists in all over the world, and their statuses were no less than a country’s president.
The famous ‘Only Divine Skill User’ of humanity, Aoi Yamazaki was a NeoGen Human. Her father was beyond level 150 when he conceived her with her mother. It was a well-known fact around the world.
Although he hadn't seen any NeoGen Humans, he had heard of them. Forget about NeoGen Humans, he hadn't even seen someone who had surpassed level 100 before today. That’s why he was very giddy about Vera’s powers. He wanted to see a super hunter in action.
Because when he used his system to scan her, all he got was a warning:
[Warning* Target’s Level is too high for the system to examine. Please Increase your level before you scan again.]
Even his mighty system was useless.
“Get in on the car,” Vera commanded and went back to the driver’s seat. She seems to have some sort of plan.
“Okay” Kenshin followed without hesitation.
Then she started the car and drove it like nothing happened. It caused Kenshin to panic before his high willpower calmed him down. With the fear out of the way, he braced himself for whatever danger coming or in this case, they were going towards.

Kenshin had his eyes glued to the map. It was showing how many meters far was that monster from them. He was repeatedly clenching and unclenching his right hand while he placed it over his wrapped sword.
Seeing this from the corner of her eye, Vera couldn’t help but smile secretly. She approved of Kenshin’s behaviour. Even though he was nervous and a little afraid, he still had enough presence to prepare for the worst case scenario. He wasn’t wholly dependent on her.
“Relax Kenshi. I am with you so no harm will befall on you.” She said with a smile. Hearing to what she said, Kenshin was secretly relieved and nodded his head, but didn’t relax his guard. Even though she said she would protect him, that didn’t mean no unseen event would occur! Entirely dependent on others was not a safe thing after all.
Besides, just because he was weak doesn’t mean he was a damsel in distress. He can fight his own battles.
The place of red dot rapidly approached and very soon their car was within 20 meters of the red dot’s AoE.
As the car was about to pass through, suddenly the ground was cracked open, and several thin red tentacles came out of it and made their way towards the car. These tentacles’ movements were very fast, even Kenshin was barely able to keep up with them.
“Can you take care of this thing?” Vera asked while focusing on her driving.
“I will try!” saying so, Kenshin grabbed the roof of the car via the window, and with a smooth movement and acrobatics, he jumped unto the ceiling.
*Thud* He crouched on the roof of the car while observing the approaching tentacles. Stretching his right arm, he conjured a huge amount of fire, then he moulded it into the form of a long and wide pentagon shaped shield. There was a reason behind making that shape. These tentacles are too fast, he couldn’t compete with their speed. It was better to be a wall instead.
As the tentacles approached the car, Kenshin waved his hand, sending the shield towards it. Due to its speed or some other reasons, the tentacles couldn’t stop moving and directly ran into the fire shield.
Bam*
Kenshin’s fire was no normal fire. After several upgrades of this skill, its heat as well as might was increased by several folds. Now, even a small flick of it was enough to melt a steel rod, so how can a flesh body handle it?
The tentacle was burned to a crisp within seconds, spreading around a burning smell similar to a lobster’s. Kenshin raised his eyes when the scent hit his nose.
“I think it’s a squeed!” he shouted towards Vera.
“I think so too. What do you say, let's kill it and have a taste?” Vera joked. Now that they know their enemy, the fear of the unknown had vanished somewhat. Then Vera stepped out of the car holding her meter sword.
“You stay there and watch.” Saying so, she suddenly vanished from her spot.
‘No’ Kenshin corrected himself. She didn’t vanish, she just normally ran, but she was too fast for the eyes of Kenshin to follow. Like teleportation, she appeared a few meters ahead and stood there calmly.
Then she slowly unsheathed her sword from its scabbard. It was a sleek black rapier-like sword designed for speed stabs. Holding it in her hands, she crouched a little then vanished, making cracks on the snowy ground.
Kenshin immediately lifted his head and found her several meters in the air. It was like she was flying. With smooth and straightforward movement she pointed her sword downwards, then she just lightly stabbed it down.
It was just a simple stab, but the after effect was too much exaggerated. A tearing sound was heard as in front of her the very air itself was torn into two. Then it morphed into a massive tornado and descended down. The tear in the air continued to descend down and finally entered the snowy ground. The enormous tornado also followed behind it.
This spectacular scene was only observed by Kenshin at the moment, who seemed like his soul had left his body. This spectacular scene simply blew away his mind.
