-Vol 4: To The North Pole!-
-Destiny calling!-
Although Kenshin was facing only 80% of the total power, he was still under a great pressure. This woman had suppressed them all with her aura alone. One can see just how strong she was from it. Kenshin was sweating buckets when he thought about this possibility.
A few seconds later, the pressure vanished as the woman retracted her aura. All the gathered hunters took a breath of relief, Kenshin included. For past few seconds, they were feeling like a whole mountain was pressing on them. It was very uncomfortable.
The lady noticed everyone’s cautious stare towards her and smiled secretly. She was aiming for this reaction from these hunters. As a proudful bunch, they obey none but only powerful. She wanted to establish her dominance over them, to remind them of the hierarchy.
From the looks of it, she succeeded spectacularly. But she was also a bit disappointed at this. Just now she had only released a fraction of her aura, but it made all these hunters sweaty. A shame indeed!
“Hello to everyone! I am Vera of Russian DCB headquarters. You can all call me Divison Leader. I am in charge of this expedition and the representative of DCB in this region. Okay! Good. Let me tell you about all the Do’s and Don’ts while you guys stay here. I don’t care how you lived in your hometown, but in here, you all obey my commands, understood!?” The last part of her words contained some amount of the pressure she had exuded earlier.
Everyone present there could only nod at her, their will to resist had already suppressed by this woman. Although he wasn’t as affected by her as others, still Kenshin nodded with everyone. He didn’t want to give this obviously strong Divison Leader a reason to find trouble with him.
“Good. I have only one rule, that is to follow all my orders. Except that, what you do is of no concern to me. Never and I mean never to contradict me, or I promise, the consequence will be not to your likings. That’s all about the rules you follow here. If you think its too much, there’s the gate. You can leave through there.”
But nobody tried to leave. At this point, even if they wanted to, who would dare to do so?
“Since nobody left, I can take that you agreed to my rules. That’s good, for any military operation, discipline was obedience is a must. As for this mission, we are going to partake in, there is a heavy need for team play. You all should be aware of the situation regarding the north pole. I won't waste time on it. I am going to debrief our mission to you guys.

I will divide all of you into a group of 2 members each. Then we will go through that ice wall to the other side. Our true mission lied on the other side.
As you all know, right now we are blind to the situation of the other side. This mission was a joint one with all the top-notch powers of the world. We are to gather as much information as possible from the other side.
Any questions?” as the lady, vera finished her speech, she allowed everyone to ask her a question.
“Is there a reason behind why only two members in a group?” a hunter from Malaysia questioned. He had a slightly chubby appearance with bright orange hair. His eyes were brown in color. From the looks of it, he was a flame-type magic skill user. There was a certain brashness to his actions, a trait common to all flame-type skill users.
“Right, good question. There is indeed a reason behind it. Firstly, with fewer people with you, your speed will greatly increase. By doing so, you can quickly cover a large amount of distance. Secondly, if you encounter a monster to a situation where you are in need to run, it will be faster with only two members in a team. But it also had its disadvantage, one being there will be a certain amount of pressure on you guys when facing a large number of monsters or a monster stronger than you. Any more questions!?”
“How far are we suppose to travel?” Another man asked. He had a french-cut beard and bald head. In his hand was a massive Axe. His brown skin was glistening as if oil was applied to it. He was topless with only a military issued pant covering his privates. Nobody knew how he was countering this unbearable cold with that bare body of his!
“Until you meet the force on the other side. We are not the only ones who are doing this mission! It was like a pincer mission; we are covering from both sides at the same time. Any more questions?”
“What if our teammate turns out to be incompetent?” it was the punk-themed girl. While saying so, she glared at some of the hunters in the group.
“Deal with it yourselves. But if you feel like your partner is dragging you down, you are allowed to abandon him/her. Okay, that’s all for questions. Now listen, every group will be provided with a military issued car. The food and fuel will be enough for you to last a week. In this week, cover as much distance as possible and gather as much data as possible. Your cars have an inbuilt tracker, after a week, a truck from the military will follow your tracks and restock your supplies, so be careful of the path you take. Any accident and you guys will be in trouble. Understood!”
“Yes!” everyone answered.
A look of excitement flashed on everyone's faces. Chance! It was a great chance at adventure! After all, Hunter is just a synonym for the adventurer. Every hunter had an uncontrollable lust for adventures. It was in their blood.
When they got a chance to live this life as a hunter, adventuring in unknown planes, how can it not sent their blood pumping! Although there are dangers, what was an adventure if didn’t have dangers involved in it?
On the contrary, knowing that there were dangers ahead only made this hunter more excited. Even Kenshin couldn’t stop his rapidly beating heart. His breathing became slightly labored at the thought of conquering the unknown.
At this time, Kenshin was truly unaware of the ground shaking adventure he would go through. He was unaware of the ground shaking discovery he would make that would shake the very foundation of the world.
He was unaware that it would be a turning point in his life that would decide the path he would follow in future.
It was his destiny calling!
