-Vol 5: A New Life-
-Recruiting Chiba(2)-
“So, she is a girl you randomly came across while training in a dungeon! Man, aren't your luck with girls are a little too good?” Joy exclaimed as he stared outside, form the window.
“Huh! What are you talking about? How come my luck with girls are good? I was still single until recently, you know!” Kenshin rebutted, feeling he had been wrongly accused.
“Huh! Didn’t you manage to get yourself a pretty powerful girlfriend? If that’s not called good luck with women, that I don’t know what is…” Joy argued, feeling frustrated at his own lack of such luck. He had money and status, of course, he could get as many women as he could…but getting someone to actually love him! That’s not possible with just money.
Though he wasn’t a virgin anymore.
“Yuki and I, we go way back. That time she was yet to attend her current position, and I was still struggling to learn the basics of hunting in a dungeon. She had her dream, and I, I have my obligations and duty…our relationship didn’t last long. Sigh! Who knew we would meet each other under such novel circumstance? This must be work of fate…” Kenshin said, reminiscing about his youthful days with Yuki before they were separated.
“That’s sound so nice…argh! I am so jealous of you. I wonder if I ever get a woman who would truly love me…” Joy sighed once again and looked out of the window.
“Haha! Don’t worry, you will meet your soulmate when the time comes. Don't rush yourself. Love can’t be rushed at all.” Like a pro relationship adviser, Kenshin spoke solemnly. Seeing his face, Joy had a sudden urge to spit on the ground.
“…”
“So where are we actually going? You don’t know her home address, and her cell is currently out of order.” Joy changed the subject from that depressing topic.
“Obviously to the Dungeon office near Lake Hinuma. That’s where I met her, so I reckon they know her address.”
“I see. But, can you please increase the speed? We are driving a friggin’ supercar here. Why are you driving it like a normal motor vehicle?” Joy shouted in rage. They were going at speed pitifully lower. Even a simple moped owner just crossed them, showing’em the finger.
“Hey! It's my first time in a while to drive a car, not to mention this is a supercar. It will take some time for me to adjust. Just wait, calmly.” Right now, Kenshin was taking his time getting used to the fact that he was actually driving a sports car, something that costs millions of dollars normally.
“That’s why I said earlier to let me drive. At this rate, it will take us forever to reach there.” Joy could only bang his head in frustration.
‘Unfortunately, there was no such thing as a Driving skill mastery…or else I would have already been a pro racer.’ Kenshin thought with a frown. He had already searched the whole system store but couldn’t find a skill like that. He was so disappointed that he even called the system useless on impulse.

“Just shut up and sit. We aren't in a hurry, and I am slowly getting used to it, so don’t worry.”
A few hours later…
“sigh! We are finally here.” Joy shouted in joy, pun intended, as Kenshin stopped the car.
“Hmph! Don’t need to be that dramatic. It's not that bad, I was driving pretty fast, you know.” Kenshin unhappily mumbled.
“Well, if you can call 70 Kmph fast, then yeah, that’s pretty fast.” Joy said with pretty much sarcasm dripping off his mouth.
“Shut up. One more word and you are walking home.” Kenshin said as he got out and they both walked towards the office.
…
“Hey, let me drive. Now we are going through a busy street, I can drive like a pro there.” Joy begged. After getting the address from the office in charge, they came out.
“No can do…wait…what is this?” Kenshin stopped midway as he saw a large crowd gathering around his car. Some were even taking selfies with their phones. There were even a few girls wearing provocative clothing posing in front and around the car.
“Look! Such a nice car…I haven't seen it before. I wonder who the owner is.” A pretty girl with short hair and a cap said as she took a few pictures of it.
“Maybe some sleazy old man, or might be a creepy rich second generation…” a boy standing next to her, probably her boyfriend, said with jealousy written clearly over his face. People like him who were only grunts of lower-level could only dream of owning such expensive cars. Even if they sell every organ on their body, they might not be able to afford one.
“He might be a handsome young hunter!” the girl suddenly had a gleam in her eyes as she thought about such possibility.
“Hey, I just searched this model online. This is a limited edition car that only 100 are made worldwide. I wonder how much this had cost.” A young man with trendy looks shouted, holding an e-pad in his hands.
“What really? Man, it must have cost above a million. Now I really wonder who the owner is.” Another guy with a bob-haircut and pierced ear said while running his hands along the car’s curves.
…
“Say, Joy. What is this? I can understand the enthusiasm about sports cars, but isn't this a little too much?” Kenshin nudged Joy on his ribs, pointing his finger at the large crowd formed around his car.
“Isn't this a normal scene? This is a rare, limited edition car we are talking about. It's not just a car, but a symbol of status. To them, owning such a car can only happen in their dreams or fantasy.” Joy had a distant look on his eyes as he said the words of wisdom. He had already experienced this scene many times and had already gotten used to it.
To Joy, it's not a big deal, but Kenshin felt a little awkward and shy to go there. Pulling out the keys from his pocket, he handed them to Joy and said, “Bring the car out of that damn place. I will be waiting for you ahead.” After that, Kenshin left.
“Haha! Sure.” At first, Joy had a good laugh for a few seconds. Then adopting a poker face, he brought out a pair of sunglasses from his chest pocket and wore them. Then with long strides, he went for the car with a swag.
…
Standing outside, Kenshin sighed miserably. Just then, a car’s horn honked behind him.
“Hey, come on, qu-huh!” Kenshin stopped midway when he saw the driver of the car. It’s the very girl he was searching and came here for. It's none other than Chiba.
“Hey!” Kenshin smiled and shook his hands in the air.
“Kenshin! Damn, its really is you. I thought I recognized wrongly.” Chiba came out of the driver’s seat and excitedly shouted. Coincidentally she was just thinking about him, suddenly she blushed red as she remembered what she was thinking earlier.
“Your phone isn't connecting at all. I have tried many times, but it came off every time. I was worried, you know!” Kenshin said with a smile.
“Really? You are really worried about me? Ahh! Well, I have lost my phone somewhere and took a new one. Unfortunately, I don't remember your name, so I forgot to give you a call.” Chiba apologized while sticking her tongue out.
“Don’t worry about it. So, do you have time? Eh…may be we go for a coffee or something. I have something important to talk to you.” Showing an awkward smile, Kenshin asked out.
“Eh! EHHH!!!” Chiba’s mind short-circuited.
