146. Chapter 146

-Vol 4: To The North Pole!-

-Changes in Compulsory Mission-

After hearing to their boss’s order, the remaining two cloaked people immediately ran forth and sat at two different locations of the pentagram drawn on the floor. Ade’el also walked to the middle of the pentagram formation and sat down. Then after taking a deep breath, he started to make some hand signs, which was soon mimicked by the other two cloaked person. After a few minutes, their hand signs finally stopped, and all three slammed their hands on the ground at the same time.

“!@%^ %$#@ ^%$@#!” uttering a strange phase that didn't belong to any language on earth, Ade’el joined his palms and slammed his hands again.

After that nothing happened while all three of them remained at that pose for a few more seconds. Just when they thought that the summoning failed, suddenly the room brightened as the pentagram drawn on the ground started glowing bloody red.

“It worked!” the female member who was in charge of this room muttered, and her voice was filled with astonishment. After the events transpired, she wasn’t optimistic about the success of their summoning circle. But it seems there was nothing to worry, they succeeded.

Soon, uncountable small thin lines started to emerge from the glowing diagram as it stretched beyond the room to somewhere else. But it didn’t surprise them much, they knew that this circle was now going to connect with all the other circles they had drawn all over the north. Although their work was finished, none of the three dared to move from their spot.

The uncountable thin red lines travelled at light speed as they stretched all over the north, searching for all the remaining pentagrams to connect with. The people who were standing guard outside the cave suddenly screamed in alarm when they saw a thick mass of red lines surging from the cave. It looked like, a giant red snake was slithering on the ground or a red river that was flowing at very high speed. These people were so shocked that they started to move around in a flurry, they began acting like chickens with their heads cut. They simply didn’t know what to do, they were not privy about something like this would happen.

These mass of redlines came out of the cave and ground from all sides then they began stretching to the horizons.

One of the cloaked men nudged his partner and said, “You! Go and ask sir, what’s happening. Is this a part of a plan or not?

“Why would I go? Why don’t you go?” his partner countered as he stood a few distances away from his friend, lest he would nudge him again.

“Eh! Me? I…it would better if we wait and see what happens before taking any rash decisions.” The first person stuttered out while thinking in his head, ‘what nonsense! Why should I go and obviously have to face trouble?’

In reality, these men didn’t know that the leader of their organization had come personally, or else they wouldn’t even dare to utter the previous phrase. It was not a secret that their leader was extremely cruel and would dish out death sentences even for the slightest offence. Wouldn’t it be akin to going to your own grave if you go and ask these questions to the leader himself?

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Similar conversations were happening all around the cave as well as inside it among all the normal and minor members of the organization who didn’t know about the plan. But ultimately none dared to go and ask what was happening, it was especially true for a selected few who knew that their leader had personally come to resolve some matters.

The red lines stretched to the horizons and looked especially dazzling under the weak light of the dawn that sparkled upon the snowy terrain. It looked like a painter was carefully carving a red line on a piece of white canvas. The flow of red lien also reminded people who saw it of a thin line of blood channel or like a vein.

Everyone who was currently present in northern snows saw these red lines, some panicked, some looked grave while others were plain curious and followed the line. Those who were a little intelligent and knew the overall matters in the north, immediately realized that something bad had happened after seeing these red lines and started to run out of the fog at their top speed. They seemed as if they were racing against the line, trying to outrun it. But lines were simply too fast for them to surpass.

These things immediately cause an uproar among all the hunters currently present in the north. If anyone has to observe these lines’ path from a bird’s eye, the can see that these lines weren't randomly moving, but they were moving along a predestined path, drawing a pattern as they move. This pattern was also a pentagram but with a lot more details than all the pentagrams drawn so far. In fact, this pentagram had spanned thousands of kilometres, covering every nook and cranny of the north that was inside the icy wall that was ‘naturally built’.

At that time a red beam suddenly lit and extended to the sky, then ninety-nine other beams followed suit and extended from different parts of the north and extended to the sky. Then suddenly the ground began to shake again, this time it was light but spontaneous.

While all the superpowered hunters looking at the astonishing scene with their eyes as wide as saucers, the ground beneath their feet suddenly started to ripple like it was water as a thin strand of red line emerged from it and coiled around their leg. Not many people noticed this, but those few who did tried many things to get rid of them but to no avail. At the same time, they also noticed that all the monsters in their vicinity also had their legs or body entangled by that red silk-like thread.

Then, in front of their very eyes, those monsters dried to the corpse as their life force was sucked dry by these red threads. Seeing this everyone panicked and started to use anything they can to get rid of the red lines.

Some had even gone as far as cutting their limbs that got entangled in making themselves free but to no avail. Those lines were like leeches, they never left the body, even if they cut their body into pieces. Some used their skills to destroy them, but even if they make a hole in the ground or burn it to cinders, nothing affected these red silk threads.

The panic factor increased by a few more degrees after this.

At this time Kenshin was silently walking below the ground as he carefully avoiding the bats so that he could reach his destination. Then suddenly a notification popped in front of him that made his face twitch. He fiercely resisted his urge to kick the ground and shout out in frustration.
