-A desperate struggle in the swirling waters(2)-

“What the hell is this?” a hunter shouted as the yacht was pulled into the whirlpool that was getting dangerous as the time passes. By now, not only the speed of rotation had increased, but also the frequency of thunder strikes had also increased. Besides, none of the thunder pillars looks like they were weak; at least it was stronger and thicker than the previous thunder pillar they had experienced.

“Is this because of that snake? What the hell? How can it have so much power?” by now, even Sakurai had lost his composure. The yacht was rocking violently as the sea water slam into it every now and then. Due to the speed of whirlpool, it could no longer be controlled. As it stands, they could not even leave it and swim away. Just when it couldn’t be any worse, suddenly a drop of water dropped into the face of Nobu.

Surprised, he looked up, only to get another drop of water to his eyes. Then another, and another…before long it started raining heavily. Thunder and rain above, whirlpool and rouge waves below, nowhere to run. Kenshin was already prepared to die. Nonetheless, they have to kill the dragon for this disaster to stop, but how can they find it in this deep and dangerous waters, not to mention when the situation was this worse?

“Goddamit! It's raining!! It's just become worse. Everyone, brace yourselves, we are going down!” hearing Sakurai’s roar, everyone just grabbed onto the edge of the yacht while looking at the sky and waters as their eyes widened and their mouth hung open. Hairs at the back of their neck would stand up every now and then as they would shudder as if feeling cold.

“How could this monster have this much power? It didn’t make sense!” the man with medallion shouted again.

“Hmph! That’s a beast born from people’s imaginations and belief. How can it be weak? Moreover, in Chinese mythology, a flood dragon is as close as you can get to the legendary dragon. Its power consists of everything that had to do with natural catastrophes related to waters and thunder. Of course, it can change weather according to its wishes.” The shrill voice of a moderately old woman came as a plump old lady came out from within the inner quarters of the yacht, holding a walking cane in her right hand. She wore white and blue themed made robes that one would typically see on movies and games.

“Lady Sachiko!” Sakurai exclaimed as he ran to her to help her walk. Just as he was about to support her, her cane moved and slammed into his head, turning it red. Glaring at the man who was rubbing the red lump on his forehead she harrumphed “Hmph! I can walk myself.”

“AH! Yes, I am sorry!” Sakurai bowed his head and apologized to her, before respectfully standing behind her. The boat was rocking heavily as they all were pulled into the chasm that is the eye of whirlpool. Thunder would strike here and there, intensifying the atmosphere further.

Despite all that, the lady walked as if she was walking on a dull and quiet road, not on a rocking boat that would topple at any moment. Not to mention others, even Kenshin was surprised at this.

‘Whoa! What a wonderful control of the center of gravity! She is no slouch alright.’ Kenshin was impressed with her strength. Well, it’s a given, considering she was the strongest person here. When Kenshin used his ability to scan her, he was surprised to find her skills similar to Sakurai.

‘That would explain why he was so respectful to her, it must be because they both belong to the same guild.’ Kenshin also couldn’t see any other attribute of her other than her skill and her name and race. And of course her HP in the form of a long red bar.

It’s as follows:

[Sachiko][Human]

[Lv ???]

[HP ??][MP ??]

[ATK ??][DEF:][INT:][WIS:][PHY:]

[Skills]

* Advanced Light Manipulation Lv 5[Generate, manipulate and control all kind of lights available in the spectrum and even their properties.][+5,000 ATK][50 MP/use]

* Purification Lv 32[Purifyes all kind of darkness that shroud the world][+100HP/sec][+500 ATK/sec to all specter and undead class monsters][24MP/5 seconds]

* Holy Blessing Lv 29[Enhances all the allies battle and recovery abilities by 200% for ten minutes.][+2000ATK/sec to all Specter and Undead class monsters][40MP/use]

Kenshin was just a slightly surprised to see another light magic user, that too someone having skills like [Purification] and [Holy Blessing]. The one who had those two skills would usually have very high positions on the social ladder, no matter where they were. It's because, those skills, not only are lethal to all specter and undead class monsters, claimed to be the most annoying type of monsters by everyone. Their skills could also be used to heal diseases. Not to mention chronic ones, even something like eyes problems, heart problems can be cured by them.

A few rich people even spent millions to let their skin look young with the help of this magic skill. If Magic skill users are rare and treated with extra respect, then the one with Light magic were treated as national treasures by people. They were the dime of the dozen and cream of the crop. They were also very rare.

‘What am I waiting for then?’ with that, Kenshin started to copy her skills. Since the snake had already fleed from his eyesight, he could no longer use replication on it. As such he made this old woman as his target.

The usual happens again. By now the boat had already got caught on the edges of the whirlpool. Unless they know how to fly, they could no longer do anything. The old lady threw a glance at Kenshin before looking at the massive vortex spanning several hundreds of meters. Just a few minutes ago, Joy came inside and warned everyone, not long after, this occurred! This made the old woman curious about how he knew of this disaster. From him, she came to know about Kenshin.

Since the boat was already caught in the vortex, nowhere was safe anymore. She preferred to come here and look at the face of danger instead of coop up inside the boat and die. Just by looking at the vortex and sensing the mass of magic emission in air, she already knew what happened.

Initially, when she heard about the appearance of Dilong, she thought it might be a low leveled one who hadn't awakened ist ancestral bloodline. But now she knew she was wrong in thinking positively that time. This dragon had already awakened a fraction of its ancestral bloodline. This was not her first time seeing a Dilong or a strong sea monster. During her young days, she had hunted many such monsters, and even faced a Dilong stronger than this one.

But that time, their situation wasn’t worsened to this degree, and they didn’t give it time to use some of its powerful skills. But these group of people, due to their cowardice, they were already caught in a vice grip of death. Now unless they find and kill that monster, they would head for the abyss of death non-stop, without the hope of ever getting out alive.

‘I only thought I would be an honorary healer in this expedition, but who would have thought I would be paired with immature brats, afraid of death and have a way too much pride?’ The old woman sighed again, shaking her head, she threw another glance at Kenshin and trotted over to him.

She had been a hunter for more than 30 years. She had faced many monsters and partied with many tough hunters in her youth. Her instincts and senses were sharper than everyone here. Right now, her senses honed for 30 years was telling her that this young man holding a longer than usual sword might be the strongest one standing here.

As a time-honored hunter, she had already seen the world. She knew that for a few people, level means nothing. They can be level 50, but their strength could be higher than a level 100 hunter. She knew all these people had used bizarre means to increase their fighting strength, like mastering a specific skill to its highest proficiency. Or level upping their magic or physical abilities to the point that they could breach the level gap.

Obviously, this young man named Kenshin was one of those. She didn’t know what kind of ability this young man mastered to its pinnacle. Nonetheless, he would be of much use in this situation than these snot-nosed brats, in her mind.

She decided to put her bait on this unknown young man, of whom she only knows the name.
