-Vol 5: A New Life-
-Rematch against Lyda (1)-
When Kenshin saw the assailant who attacked him, he couldn’t help but take a deep breath as his eyes widened to their maximum limit. At the same time, he began thinking just how small was the world, to let someone he never expected to meet so soon.
Standing a few distances away from him was an incomparably beautiful girl with purple hair that moved on its own as if it had a mind of its own. Right now this lady was wearing black business wear, paired with black high-heels. Looking at him, Kenshin sighed. Her figure, face, the hair even her height everything about her had changed, but she could never change that unique eye and of course the marker he had left on her the last time he met her.
She was none other than the snake woman, Lyda.
She had a cold face on with her eyes spewing fire. If looks could kill, Kenshin would have died more than a million times already.
“Kenshin Muto!! You damn bastard…I finally found you at last!!” while gritting her teeth in anger, Lyda spoke out. Her body started to give off a sickly yellow aura that exploded like a flame. The ground beneath her feet cracked and caved in a few centimeters from the pressure of her aura alone. Her purple hair danced in air exploded from her pressure, giving her a baleful appearance.
“This time, I won't let you escape. I will kill you and make my pet eat your body and soul. You will become fodder for my newest pet…arrgh!!” this snake lady had a bad history with Kenshin. A feud that couldn’t be resolved with a simple negotiation. Unless one of them dies, their enmity would never end. As for Kenshin, he would never allow a ticking time bomb like her to breathing down his neck for long. Or else he couldn’t rest in peace at all.
“So you are still alive! I should have thought of this. A slippery snake like you would never die.” Narrowing his eyes, Kenshin sent the bag he was holing to his inventory while pulling out his [Blackmoon Beheader]. The surrounding area was already devoid of any people. They had quickly evacuated the place when they saw two powerful hunters were abutted to fight. The officers from DCB also came to mediate the situation, but after experiencing the aura from Lyda’s body, they also quickly left the premise, opting to call the head office instead.
Even the city police didn’t dare to enter the premise, on the contrary, they started to evacuate the surrounding people out of the area. The military immediately barricaded the area around covering hundreds of meters. All this happened within the time it took for Kenshin and Lyda to exchange a set of blows and trash talk to each other. Not to mention Lyda, even Kenshin was surprised at the efficiency of the government in handling the situation.
‘This Lyda, she is capable of summoning monsters as big as hundreds of meters…if she goes crazy here, I can only imagine what the rate of the destruction would be. No, I must force her inside the dungeon. Otherwise, many people would die.’ Kenshin thought of this while giving his surroundings a look.
‘What to do?’ Kenshin wondered. He couldn’t directly ask her or else she would be able to easily guess his motive. There might be a chance that she would use that as leverage while battling with him. He also couldn’t warn the soldiers outside for the same reason. The only option was to do in such a way that nobody would suspect his real motive.

“Kenshin, prepare for your death!” Lyda shouted and congealed a mass of yellow energy on her right hand. The yellow energy quickly transformed into a long arrow like a sword. Controlling it with her magic, Lyda sent it lying at Kenshin. It was the same attack that she used to sneak attack him just before.
It was extremely fast, appearing to teleport to a normal person. But Kenshin’s eyes, which was upgraded by his [Dragon sense] passive, could see through its trajectory. Just when it reached within the five meters of Kenshin’s field fo vision, suddenly it exploded, covering everything around in blaze and smoke. There was another carter formed in front of him in the same conical shape as before.
The slim sword was already traveling at speed slightly faster than sound, but Kenshin had already used his skill [Opposites] to reverse all the kinetic energy around him. So when the kinetic energy of an object which was traveling at such fast speed, rebound at a single point in a split second, an explosion like this has to be expected. It was all secondary school physics, which Kenshin managed to remember and even understand thanks to his high amount of intelligence and wisdom.
If it were a monster or a human at the palace of the arrow, unless they had a high amount of DEF and wearing a high-class armor, they would instantly turn into a blood mist, evaporating to thin air, not even leaving a single chunk of flesh behind.
They say ‘Knowledge is power’ and Kenshin displayed its truthfulness right down to the last detail when he destroyed the arrow.
Taking this time, Kenshin scanned her again. And not surprised to see her stats and levels, even her HP showing ‘??’. It has to be expected. Back then, she was stronger than Vera, who was level 120, and after a few months, if she still stayed at the same level without even slightly increasing her power, Kenshin would really look down on her.
Lyda gasped in shock when she saw this. Her attack was easily countered like ist nothing but a light show. She had used plenty of magic to create this yellow arrow, for it to not even touch Kenshin’s body, it was really surprising. But she had also expected this. That day, she had experienced the might of this human boy who had dealt so much damage to her even without directly fighting against her. Although she was surprised, it was within her expectations.
As she was about to cast another of her skill, she saw the human whom she was so adamant about killing, sighed as if he was feeling bored. She saw him, shaking his head and sheathing his sword then lazily walking towards the dungeon.
“You! What are you doing?” she asked angrily.
But Kenshin didn’t answer her, maintaining a bored face, he continued to walk towards the dungeon gate. Getting incensed at Kenshin’s ignorance at her, she gritted her teeth and conjured another yellow arrow. Throwing it at him, she shouted: “I asked, where the hell are you going, you bastard!!??”
Without even bothering to look at her, Kenshin once again used the same trick to blast away the yellow arrow. Turing his head at her, he said, “Its already 3 months. But you are still the same. You are still weak! And here I thought you have gotten stronger. Sigh* it seems I was too optimistic.” Shaking his head, as if it can't be helped, Kenshin steadily entered the gate of the dungeon.
“Weak! Weak!!” Lyda’s mind short-circuited. She didn’t manage to hear everything Kenshin said, only the word ‘weak’ which resonated with something he had heard from the past. As if a switch has been flipped, Lyda suddenly exploded with incomparable killing intent. The yellow aura around her transformed into blood-red with ghastly images surrounding it.
“I will show you what the weak is. Today, I must kill you no matter what!!” roaring in anger, she followed behind Kenshin inside the dungeon.
“Yes!” seeing her entering the dungeon behind him, Kenshin smiled stealthily. His plan succeeded. Now he can fight with everything he had without worrying about being exposed or destruction.
