-Vol 5: A New Life-
-New Skills-
Without wasting time, Kenshin browed through the skills to find a suitable one for his agility. His first choice was passive ones. They would need no MP to cast and would always help him. Most of the time, passive skills would make a difference where the active one fails. Kenshin filtered his search and searched for all passive skills under AGI~
[Filter: Skills/Passive/AGI]
1. AGI +5%[Permanently increases agility by 5%][Stackable up to 3 times][50 G]
2. AGI +10%[Permanently increases agility by 10%][Stackable up to 3 times][90 G]
3. AGI +20%[Permanently increases agility by 20%][Stackable up to 3 times][200 G]
4. AGI +50%[Permanently increases agility by 50%][Stackable up to 3 times][1000G]
5. AGI +100%[Permanently increases agility by 100%][Stackable up to 3 times][5000G]

9. Resist Water[Decreases water pressure while traveling in water by 50%][1500 G]
10. Air Step[Can leap once again while in the air][100 G]
11. Water Step[Can leap on the surface of the water once][100 G]
The choice of skills made Kenshin numb for breathing for a second. There were many types of agility based skills listed in there. For a second, Kenshin regretted not checking out his system store in the past. Before he didn’t have money, so even if he had all the skills available to him in store, he could only watch them. But that habit didn’t change even after he got money.
He was determined to change that.
First, he bought all the stacks of [AGI +5%, AGI +10%, and AGI +20%]
[Ding* You bought passive skill AGI +5% x3]
[-150 G]
[AGI (384 → 403 →423 → 444)]
[Ding* You bought passive skill AGI +10% x3]
[-270 G]
[AGI (444→488→537→591)]
[Ding* You bought passive skill AGI +20% x3]
[-600 G]
[AGI (591→709→851→1021)]
After buying them, he watched gleefully as the agility changed one at a time. It made him weirdly happy seeing the ever-stagnant number growing like galloping horses. After the assimilation, his AGI instantly became his third highest stat. Although it came with the problem of getting used to it, Kenshin wasn’t worried about that. The upcoming mission would help him with that. But at that instant, since he was closing his eyes, Kenshin didn’t saw the instant change, when the world around him slowed down for a few seconds before resuming. He regretted not doing it sooner.
Kenshin left the 50% and 100% ones, one its increase would be too much for him to handle currently, second, he could only use them thrice. He didn’t want to use it right now, waiting for do it in the future, when his AGI increases further. He didn’t see any number type increase skills. Unable to come up with an answer he gave up, not willing to linger on it further.
Leaving both of them, he then bought all the skills on the list. Starting from [Resist Air] to [Water Step]. All in all, it cost him a grand total of 8,810 gold coins. Just a drop on his literal ocean of money. These skills, although didn’t show any numerical increase on his stats, they can make his agility higher all the same. Basically, these skills affect the environment around rather than affecting his body. Although there was one skill whose uses he didn’t understand from the description, he bought it nonetheless, hoping to understand them at a later time. As for those leap skills, they will come in handy during intense battles against a powerful enemy.
An ability to change direction and maneuvers in mid-air or on top of a waterbody, how useful was that? It will work for surprising his enemy in worst case scenarios. As for those water resistance and air resistance skills, they were self-explanatory.
With everything about agility in the passive section was over, he focussed on other skills that could help in other areas, like say WIS or INT. So he applied the filter again for passive skills of these two types of stats.

24. Ultimate Regain[Max Lv N/A][MP restoration speed +100%; MAX N/A][99,999]
Under this stat, there were many more skills, but most of them were greyed out, looking closer, he found that they were unique class-related skills. He had no use for them, even if he could, he couldn’t buy them form his store. Some of the skills which could make a difference in his situation were very expensive. If he hadn't gained those 500 million golds, he wouldn’t have dared to even look at these skills. Right now, he had more than enough money to spare. Getting stronger was what matters most right now.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Steeling his heart, he made his purchase. First, he bought all the numerical increment passive skills for INT and WIS.

Not a second later of this notification, Kenshin felt his mind relaxing by a huge margin. He felt very liberating as if a weight had been removed from his head that was giving him many troubles in the past. At the same time, he felt overwhelming magic power coursing through his veins, these magic power then filtered through his magic circuit and filtered into all the cells present in his body, nourishing them. Kenshin also felt his increased magic concentration storing inside every cell of his body, strengthening them.
[Ding* Due to the nourishment of cells by magic power, physique has increased.]
[+50 PHY]
‘There's a connection between magic and physique! Increasing one unexpectedly increased the other. I see, so, that’s how a magic skill users body increases in strength, despite not training in them…’ he suddenly remembered an old text, a strong mind needs a strong body to handle it. ‘Strong mind leads to strong magic. To handle strong magic, the body must be strong enough. I see many things are becoming clear to me now…’ Kenshin thought while waiting for the euphoric feeling to vanish. He was already accustomed to this feeling, every time his stats increased in bulk, he would feel like this.
After the feeling faded, he repeated the same action for WIS too.
[Ding* You bought passive skill WIS +20]
[-20 G]
[WIS 220→240]
[Ding* You bought passive skill WIS +50]
[-50 G]
[WIS 240→290]

[-100 G]
[WIS 290→390]
[Ding* You bought passive skill WIS +500]
[-500 G]
[WIS 390→890]
The same wonderful feeling came crashing again, but this time it was a little subdued than last time. This time, he felt like the cobwebs that would often prevent him from thinking of something unorthodox had cleared. He also discovered some unique uses and ways to use his skills. His comprehension also increased to the point that he felt that he no longer need to waste the amount of magic he typically used in a skill, decreasing it by a certain margin.
[Ding* Your comprehension of magic and its properties increased by a slight margin. All the magic skills will cost 20% less MP than before.]
[WIL +20]
As the notification appeared, the changed immediately took place, he could feel it. He could feel that now he didn’t need to use as many MP as before to execute a skill. The unexpected gain of WIL was also a surprise bonus. He felt very pleased with this, which confirmed his doubt of all the stats were somewhat interconnected. Then he bought all the 5%, 10% and 20% increment passives for his INT and WIS.
[Ding* You bought passive skill INT +5%]
[-1000 G]
[INT 1453 → 1526]
[Ding* You bought passive skill INT +10%]

[Ding* Max MP increased to 4026]

Ignoring the specific feeling, Kenshin continued his activities.

Kenshin didn’t stop there, he continued buying the last skill in the long list that he wanted to buy.
[Ding* You bought passive skill Ultimate Regain]
[99, 999G]
[Ding* Current regain rate increased by 100%]
[Current MP regain: 20 MP/sec]
[Ultimate Regain Lv 0][10,000 EXP for next level up]
[100% MP regain speed]
Nodding to himself, Kenshin checked his purchase summary and felt a dull ache in his chest. Today’s total purchase cost him 121, 169 G, way more than all his life savings before the mission to North. But it was all for his own strength, so he endured the pain. He needs alive to enjoy all that money and to remain alive, he needs to become stronger.
After this, he decided to buy some passive skills for PHY and if possible search something that could increase his WIL. But before he could implement this plan, he felt a dull nudge to his left side. Opening his eyes, he found everyone around him going down one by one. Looking at his left side, he saw Isabella staring at him with that innocent look of hers.
“We have arrived! Wake up you sleepy head!”
