-Vol 4: To The North Pole!-
-The Adams Couple and Lyda’s problem-
Within various tents, the commissioned hunters sent by the three other superpowers across the world were being briefed by the stationed officers about the terrain and other things. After that at 5 PM, all the eight powerhouses from three guilds and DCB were ready to enter the cold area. They all left in batches and accompanied by their partners. That means two people would never be separated from each other during this mission.
With the help of the map that was provided by their respective officials, these powerhouses chose different directions to start their mission. The two warriors from DCB chose the same route as Vera and Kenshin.
“In the end, we didn’t find that girl.” the woman exclaimed as she sat on her car. She was playing with her hair as she complained to the man sitting beside her.
“Not to worry. She isn’t a little girl, and neither was she weak, she would be fine.” The burly bear-like man comforted his wife.
“You…its because of this attitude of yours that she ran away from home that day without my knowledge.” The wife complained loudly as she pinched on the skin of the bear-like man.
“Really! If it’s an outsider, they would be fooled by you. She has not even touched the boundary of level 100 that year, and you are saying that she ran away without your knowledge? That too when you are at home? I don’t believe it!” the bearlike man countered.
“Hmph! Who asked you to be a smartass? Just drive the damn car.”
Seeing her humphing with her cheeks inflated cutely, the man couldn’t help but smile. While driving, he opened his map and started to follow the nearest marked location.

Lyda couldn’t help but stare dumbly at the dark cave in front of her. A day ago, this cave used to glow red with various rune marks all over it. But now, forget about runes, not even a glow could be seen coming out of them.
“This…what happened here?” she mumbled as sweat started to pour out of her eyebrows. Moving her eyes, she saw a few slash marks on the pentagram drawn on the wall. This cave was precisely the cave that Kenshin discovered the rune and destroyed it.
After regaining her strength enough, Lyda decided to follow Kenshin and that woman and kill them to prevent anything from spreading. But while she was jumping down, she decided to check out this cave just in case. This cave was very significant for their plans, as such if something happens to it, then all the blames would fall on her head. Knowing their leader, he would surely punish her surely.
She didn’t want to be punished by that man no matter what, she would rather prefer to die.
But fate is such a cruel bitch! Not only there was something wrong with that cave, but the whole thing had also collapsed due to her tantrum. She didn’t suspect it was Kenshin as she knew no matter how strong that brat was, he couldn’t bypass that barrier surrounding the cave opening. How could she know that Kenshin had a skill that could bypass almost all barrier no matter how strong they were?

As such she guessed it was done by her when she lost control and ordered her pet monkey to smash everything. But how could she admit that it was her negligence that caused such catastrophe? Forget about that, how did she break this news to the Leader? Nothing hides from their leader’s eyes, not even the time.
Lyda couldn’t help but shake in fear as a pair of swirling green eyes appeared on her mind. Those eyes were grim and apathetic as if nothing matters to them, not even someone’s life. They just look at you like one would look at a lower being, a worm or fly.
“Ugh! I am so dead!!” Lyda couldn’t help but scream at the top of her lungs. In the end, she decided to run off to the nearest member of their group that was assigned to guard another such rune.
“I hop Almie has some solution to my problem. I will just say that it was caused by a human powerhouse. Hmm! Not a bad idea. But how can I hide it from leader’s eye? Given his power, he would probably already knew about it. But I hope for his powers to fail again like before, at least I will be spared from the trouble. As for that brat, I will eat him raw the next time I see him.” towards the end, Lyda growled out as a vicious aura poured out of her and formed cracks all around.
“Who is there?” just as she was about to jump out of there, she heard the voice of a man above her. The cave was a few hundred meters below the ground level as such it wasn’t clearly visible to the naked eye, even to a powerful hunter like her. Therefore she didn’t know who it was but thinking that it was some lousy hunter on a mission, she got excited and decided to vent off all her anger. As such she decided to leap up and reach her target as soon as possible in case they realized her power and made a run from her.
Unknown to her, this was going to be the worst decision in her life, one that would ultimately cost her life.

“Is this the one!?” Mrs Adams who was holding the map grumbled as she checked out the broken and blasted remains of the secret hideout of the government that was reported buy, Vera.
“Honey, please stop the car, it seems this is the place reported by Vera where she encountered that cloaked woman.”
Hearing her wife, the bear man hit the brake and stopped the car. After that, they exited with their weapons and started to make their way towards the large holes.
“This place looks like someone had a punching match with the ground.” Mr Adams muttered as he inspected the destruction around.
“That someone is a Semi-Ascended monkey that was summoned by a woman who wasn’t a human but a white snake tribe survivor. She, herself, is an ascended monster though.” Mrs Adams replied while examining everything around her. As they were heading for a possible battle, they no longer had their weapons inside their cases.
In her hand were a big green and white lustred bow that looked elegant and a bit holy. There were complex green and white runes running all over the bow in such a pattern that it looked like a beautiful tribal painting than a rune. The wire of bow was made especially from a red material that looked both elastic and robust, such a conflicting combination! But there were no quivers behind her. This bow was rare magic equipment that had a property to produce its own arrow when the string was stretched. It was called ‘Gandiba’, named after the bow of a Demigod in Indian mythology. Apparently, that demigod was the son of Indra, the king of gods in Indian Mythology.
As for the bear man, he held a big buster sword which was pure black except for a red gem in the middle. Unlike his wife, his sword didn’t have a deep background. It was a low-quality sword that was a drop from a level 200 monster. Apparently, its texture was the same as the teeth of that monster, as such the sword’s name was Lebion’s Teeth.
Lebion was a monster that he hunted with his wife last year at the cost of many expensive equipment and consumables. That monster was no that strong, but it had a high vitality and regenerating power, making it the most tenacious beast to be killed by their hands. Although it was low quality compared to the bow, it also had a unique ability. It can freely manipulate its weight according to the wielder's wishes. It can be as light as a feather while as heavy as a mountain. Depending upon Weider's stamina, it can be freely manipulated. As someone whose primary attribute revolves around brute strength, this sword suited him the best.
