-New Skill: Debuff-
Combining their efforts, Kenshin and Joy cleared all the imps within a few minutes. It didn’t cost them much effort. Although these imps had number advantage, both Kenshin and Joy were powerful enough to disregard that advantage. So what if it’s a few hundred or thousand imps, in the end of the day they were creatures skilled only in illusions. With Joy’s close combat and Kenshin’s long-distance support, they successfully wiped out the mass of imps.
“It’s finally done. Damn these things are although weak; their illusions were stronger than those two outside.” Joy muttered looking at the rapidly dispersing corpse, “that’s weird though… not a single one dropped a thing after their deaths. How come?”
“I don’t know.” Kenshin pursued his lips and looked at the rapidly disappearing bodies. Although he said he didn’t know to Joy, he had an inkling of the underlying reason. Why this dungeon didn’t drop anything?
They both steadily and cautiously proceeded towards the tower. After the Imp appearance there seemed to be no more traps so eventually they both arrived at the huge obsidian monolithic tower. The huge tower that seemed to have stretched beyond the sky looked very strange and had a kind of deterrence.
“Let’s go,” Kenshin said gesturing at the only entrance to the tower. Without waiting for Joy’s reply, he entered first. As soon as they stepped foot inside the tower, a voice rang in their ears.
[You ants finally come to my layer. I don’t know if it’s your idiocy or your courage, either way, don’t expect either of you to go out alive. This tower will be your graves.]
The voice belonged to a young adult and had an otherworldly vibe to it. He heard this kind of voice a few times in his life. All super-beings tend to have this kind of vibes. Kenshin and Joy stared at each other for a while before grimacing. Kenshin also conformed to his doubt about this dungeon.
Boom!!
At the same time, an explosion occurred as a faint shadow descended. It was a twenty-meter tall bipedal anthropomorphic creature with four arms and two heads. Its four arms held a type of melee weapon resembling a hybrid of sword and staff. One of its heads had a long snout like a dog or wolf while the other head didn’t have any facial feature save for a red dot.

‘Hmm, there’s a lot of powerful skill.’ Kenshin marveled. Mostly all of the magic skill was concentrated on its second head. Therefore, he made up his mind, “Joy, target its second head. It is responsible for all the magic-related attacks.” After that, he stared at the creature for a few more seconds before deciding on something.
Initially, he wanted to copy some of its skills but he already had similar skills in his possession hence he abandoned this idea. That passive looked tempting, but he already had [Mirror Reflection] to return damage and [Passive Regeneration] to regain HP. There was no need for these skills.
Joy initiated the attack by jumping towards the chimera’s second head with a lightning clad punch. At the same time, Kenshin unsheathed his sword and paraded hail upon the chimera.

“Kenshin, look!” suddenly Joy’s happy shout broke his reverie. Looking towards him, Kenshin saw the bald man shining gently in red.
“Oh, looks like you are levelling up.” Joy was happy. There was actually no clear way described on how hunters level up. Usually, it was because they fought and defeated a powerful monster above their level, and then they would level up. The only way to know was when you get this shine on your body or go to a DCB branch to check out your level with the magic stone present there.
Unlike Chiba, Joy had already gone through this step more than hundreds of times. There was no special reaction on his face or expression. The glow stopped soon after and Joy finally opened his eyes. Looking at Kenshin, he cracked a smile and said, “it seems, I have unlocked a new ability.”
“Congratulations.” Kenshin smiled, happy for his friend.
“Well, it’s just that… this ability is a little weird. I call this ability [Debuff], it’s completely opposite of my [Boost] skill.” Joy scratched his head. The new ability he gained, instead of boosting him, debuffs his enemies. For now, the only skill he could use was [Debuff: Reduce Defence], which would reduce the opponent’s DEF by 30%. The cost wasn’t high, similar to the cost of using [Boost] skill. The only problem was, he couldn’t use both [Boost] and [Debuff] at the same time, otherwise, the power output would have been terrific.
“That’s a good skill. However, you have to train well to make full use of it. I believe debuff skills you have will be more useful to your team than to you.” Kenshin really thought so. With Joy’s skill, there was a chance to decreasing the time taken to kill each opponent in the future. Every creature had some form of DEF, if Joy could lower it, then his teammate’s attacks would deal more damage. Both Kenshin and Chiba were damage dealers, with Chiba having some form of crowd controlling skill. Looking at smiling Joy Kenshin declared, “Joy, from henceforth, you will be our small team’s tank.”
“I also think so” it was meant for a joke, but the man took it seriously. Kenshin had nothing more to say.
After that, they both looked around and proceeded to a set of staircases that appeared miraculously. Joy and Kenshin looked at each other for a second before ascending. After that arrived at another place, resembling a muddy marsh that smelled horribly. Seconds later, several heads peeked out of the water; these are a bunch of special mutated crocodiles whose levels were between 50 to 70. Although weak in level, their numbers made up for it.
Already knowing what to expect, Joy and Kenshin and rained with their skills again, destroying the army within a few minutes. It took lesser time than killing the Chimera. After ascending the stair again, they faced another boss-type monster, the same as a Chimera but resembling a lion.
This thing gave them a bit of trouble but nothing too severe. Combining their strength, and Joy’s newly acquired ability, they were able to kill the damn lion in fifteen minutes.
