-Vol 4: To The North Pole!-
-Lyda wrecked!-
Mrs Adams watched coldly at the twitching body of Lyda. She didn’t attack her when she was down, opting to kill her slowly while she was conscious of her actions. She wanted to beat her up like how she did to Vera.
On the other hand, Lyda was totally regretting her decision to stay behind. She knew she couldn’t escape anymore and death was the only outcome. But she wasn’t willing to resign to her fate and simply extend her head to be chopped off. She also had her pride, she would rather die fighting. The paralysis effect had long since vanished from her body, she was only pretending to make her enemy lower their guard.
She was a snake, of course, she would fight like one.
But Mrs Adams wasn’t a powerhouse just for show, she knew what Lyda was thinking as such she didn’t go near her. Although she was strong, still she wasn’t completely invincible. She could also die from underhand methods. Snakes were famous for having too many underhand methods so she would never make that mistake, no matter how angry she was.
But that didn’t mean she couldn’t attack her. Again pointing her bow towards the fallen Lyda, she pulled the string causing a blue arrow to materialize. Seeing this Lyda instantly knew that she couldn’t continue on her acting anymore as such with agile movements, she hastily escaped from there. The blue arrow appeared a millisecond later, embedding into the ground where she was laying earlier.
Mrs Adams didn’t stop though, she continued rapid firing arrows, not allowing the snake to take a breather.
“What are you doing, you bitch? If you want to kill, then kill. What’s the meaning of this play?” Lyda was so angry that she was literally puffing her lungs out. Forgetting about her situation, she started to scold instead.
But Mrs Adams completely disregarded her words, as if she didn’t hear anything and continued her ‘target practice’ with Lyda as her training dummy. She deliberately avoided hitting her on places where her movements would be impeded. The blue arrows were not destructive, but their penetrating power was very high, not to mention they travel very fast. If Lyda had been a little slower, she would have already become a porcupine. That would hurt even more than being dead.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
Mrs Adams continued her assault while Lyda could only dodge with agile snake like moments. As the time passed, she was getting tired. Although she was a snake species monster, and her stamina was very high compared to humans, all these complex movements were draining her stamina rapidly. If this continues, sooner or later she would become a stationary target for this lady.

Mrs Lyda continued her assault on the poor snake totally unfeeling of the laters plight. Although this snake was an ascended monster that had committed many crimes, she didn’t care about that. What matters to her was that this snake dared to attack her daughter. She also didn’t feel like explaining anything to her, opting to attack her without rest.
“Very well, if you want a fight then I will give you one. Don’t think of me as some pushover.” At the end of her wits, she completely disregarded her condition and started to draw on her magical power. Due to one of her top summon’s death, she was hurt quite badly at the soul level. Unless she takes at least a month rest, she won't recover completely. Using her magic now was tantamount to asking for her own demise. Even though she won't die, the after-effects would be very severe to the point of permanent injury to her soul. That means her lifespan would be shortened.
Although that would be an inconvenience, she has to do it. Otherwise, she would die a miserable death.
She instantly stopped running and instead joined her hands to form a weird sign. After that, she started to chant in some unknown language. Then, the space around her began to distort. A red coloured, golden marked door emerged behind her. The gate was at least twenty meters high and five meters wide.
“Open!” followed by her shout, the gate slowly opened.
Mrs Adams watched curiously as the Lyda continued to perform summoning ritual. When she saw the red gate, her face changed slightly but still overall she remained calm. As the gate opened slowly, she was able to glimpse what's beyond, and what she saw wasn’t what she expected at all.
Summoners were one of the most annoying kinds of enemy one could face. Not because they were extraordinarily strong, but because of their ability to summon beings powerful than themselves. There were also instances where someone summoned a creature at least twice his level and was able to control it well.
The being Lyda was about to summon this time was exactly a being that was stronger than her. It was a five-headed poisonous snake. On an average, this snake should be about level 150 or above, whereas Lyda’s level was not yet touched level 140. Such was the power and annoyingness of the summoners.
As the gate opened completely, the five-headed poisonous snake, which was actually a mutated overgrown mamba with five heads and potent poison, slithered out.
