-Vol 4: To The North Pole!-
-Vera’s Side-
While Kenshin was rampaging to his heart's content, the situation outside wasn’t that great with Vera. After leaving Kenshin, she came outside to see the creature responsible for the hole earlier.
At first, she was surprised to find darkness outside, but on the closer inspection, she discovered that actually, it wasn’t darkness, rather the shadow of the creature that had just attacked. Looking up she found herself not able to spot the creature’s head, all he could see was the body and a big pot belly.
As she expected, the creature was a monkey variant accended monster. Without even trying, she could feel the unusual air current flow around the creature. It was akin to standing in front of an immovable mountain that stops everything in its path. For a moment she felt like all her strength left her body. This hulking monster, it was clear that this monster was beyond her current capabilities. Adding to the one who summoned it, she was sure she won't escape this ordeal unscathed.
She might even die.
But she had already steeled her resolve. She was ready to die. For the sake of the world and that man who showed concern for her, even if it was only for a moment, she was prepared to die. Taking a deep breath, she grabbed her sword tightly and ran towards the humongous monster.
After reaching its big hairy leg, she brandished her sword and slashed on it. But to her surprise, instead of cutting the monster’s leg, she felt like cutting a pole of steel. It didn’t have any effect on the beast. Hell, it didn’t even move, as if it didn’t felt someone just tried to cut its leg. It was a serious blow to Vera who prided herself to be able to cut anything in the past.
In the end, it was well within her expectations. She knew to injure this beast, she has to use everything in his body, every last drop of her strength. Jumping back to create momentum, she tried the same thing again. But this time she had used all her strength as well as her Intent on the sword.
Puchi!!
A line formed on the leg of the creature before a huge amount of blood gushing out of it like a broken dam.
ROAR!!!
The humongous creature roared in pain as it stumbled back. Due to uneven ground, it couldn’t maintain its balance and fell down towards its back. It was one of the disadvantages of big creatures. Due to the gravity of earth that heavily favoring towards small creatures, the effect of it was messy on those that was too huge.
Not only it disrupts their sense of balance, but it also slows down their overall reaction speed. It was the same as what happens to humans when they go to the moon. Moon also has gravity, but to humans it was too little, causing their overall reaction process to damper there.

BOOM!!!
As the creature fell on his back, the air pressure made a tremendous amount of snow to fly around, causing a situation similar to an avalanche. Although the snow made the area’s visibility critically low, Vera was clear about where the monster was. She wouldn’t miss it even if it hides underground. It was one of the properties of her sword.
Unless the person dies or she wants it, the sword would always be attracted towards the last person it cut. Right now, the last thing it cut was that monster. Even so, she was clear that it wouldn’t affect that monster in any way. That kind of wound, it should have already healed by now. After all, it was an ascended monster, its strength was not to be underestimated.
Just as she was thinking of all this, suddenly she saw a tornado appearing in front of her and blew away all the snow around. She would also have blown away, had she not jumped back in time to avoid the air pressure.
Without a doubt, this tornado was created by the monster. It was now kneeling with one leg, unable to stand up. Even while kneeling, its size was still comparable to a small mountain. Vera still had to sprain her neck to see the monsters face.
It had a human-like face, but its nose was all the way above its head. White hair covered all over its head except the face. It’s murky green eyes looked menacing on its white face. There were two white horns protruding over its head, giving off a demonic vibe.
Again, Vera’s legs gave out just by seeing this monster’s face. It was really way beyond her current level. But she steeled her resolve since she was going got die anyway, why not die while fighting!
Even so, she knew she couldn’t take this monsters attacks directly, or else she would be vaporized in an instant. But thankfully it was very slow in its movement, giving her extra room to move around. Using it, she can at least buy enough time for Kenshin to find a good place to hide.
Suddenly the creature stopped roaring and put forth its arms forward in the sky. Then it made a grabbing motion. The air around its palm distorted as if it was a curtain that was grabbed by the monkey.
Seeing this Vera couldn’t help but take a step back in fright. She was not frightened because the creature grabbed the air like a solid object, there are many skills in this world, so something like this was of no surprise but because she knew what would come next.
RIP!!!
As the monkey pulled its arms, the air was also pulled by it. In the middle, a spatial crack appeared and expanded according to the monkey’s hand movements.
This monkey, it was able to make a dimensional crack with its brute force alone!!
But it was not the end. After the crack expanded enough, a large number of snow apes came out of it like ants from a hole in the ground and ran towards the hole made by its earlier punch.
Seeing this, It was more apparent than ever that this ape was indeed summoned by someone and was being controlled by him/her. On the contrary, this revelation made Vera scared. If there was someone capable enough to summon and control a being of such power, then her chances of survival had gone from zero to minus zone.
Not only that, all these monsters were heading towards the government facility, it was clear that their target was Kenshin. She now feared for Kenshin’s safety. Both of them cannot die in this place, one of them had to remain alive. For the sake of humanity, both of them mustn’t die today.
But her survival was not possible, she could only hope Kenshin to hide somewhere where these monsters wouldn’t find him. In the end, she wasn't given any more time to think as the beast returned its sight to her. Before long Vera felt another tornado rising as a massive fist approached her.
The monster had started to go on offense and actively attacking her!
