-Vol 3: Enemies in The dark-
-Kenshin’s status!-
“Big brother, what are you planning to do?” Akari asked, sitting near Kenshin.
“I am writing a complaint against him in DCB. Then I will see what he can do!” he replied. Generally, conflicts between two hunters couldn’t be resolved by the public court or police. For that, DCB had a special branch. It just goes by the name DCB disciplinary committee.
Their job is to resolve the conflict between two hunters. If the hunter, whom against the complaint was written found guilty, harsh actions were taken against him.
If it was the Kenshin from before; the case would have gone against him. It could have resulted in him giving a huge fine or maybe confinement. But now, it was Doi who was going to face a tragedy.
“Would that be okay?” Akari asked worriedly. She knew about the background of this Doi, although she had never met him from before. During their travels, this person had preached about his contacts at least a hundred times.
“Just wait and see, your bro is no pushover,” Kenshin reassured her with a smile. If he wanted, he would have beaten this man to a pulp. But he didn’t. Instead, he chooses the subtle but vicious way. Like this, Doi wouldn’t be able to lift his head in future.

After waiting for some time, the bald man who was the uncle of Doi finally got the report he wanted. After reading the detailed report, he couldn’t help but curse at his nephew. Earlier, he had called the DCB head branch to search the location of his nephew’s phone and to find the details about where he was.
After twenty minutes, the DCB main branch gave him the report with a warning.
[Don’t mess with this person.]
It’s written in red; on the front page of the detailed report. Getting curious about whom has such prowess to make the main branch to warn him like this, he read the whole report. After he finished reading, he couldn’t help but curse angrily at his nephew.
That bastard, out of all people, he had to mess with a magic user with a huge amount of contribution towards the government! It was simply lifting a rock and throwing it on your own leg. A move, that was close to suicide. If he wants, he could help him. But he didn’t want to enter the muddy waters. Besides, his life was not in any danger.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
What’s more, that young man was very intelligent. He chose to go the legal way, making it all the more difficult for him. That young man clearly knew the power he wielded and made use of that liberally.
Even under this situations, if he has to help his nephew, it will be a stain on his career. After thinking for some time, he decided to leave his nephew to his own devices.
“Let it be a lesson to him.” The old man said while resuming his study. It’s as if his nephew’s current status was of no concern to him.

Kenshin didn’t have to wait long before a group of uniquely uninformed individuals entered his home. They were from DCB disciplinary committee. When they saw Kenshin, a flash of respect appeared on their eyes. As hunters working under DCB, how could they not know who was this person?
Although nobody had seen him fighting in the frontlines, later they had found the evidence that he was, in fact, fighting inside the dungeon, stopping two most dangerous groups in their tracks. It was later revealed by the manager that, it’s actually him, who had informed them about the dungeon break first, and also the one who had given them enough time to gather enough troops to repel the monsters.
While facing someone with such a contribution, it was normal to respect them.
“Hello sir, I am Denji from the disciplinary department. It was an honor to meet you. That day, if it was not for you; we wouldn’t have gathered enough force to repel the monsters.” the man called Denji said with a respectful voice.
Seeing her brother being respected like this; Maria couldn’t help, but be on the cloud nine. It was always her dream to see her brother in such a position. She was well aware of the hardships he had to go through for her, that’s why she was studying hard. She wanted to become someone with a lofty status and make her brother happy.
“Oh! Please don’t thank me. It was my duty to protect Mito in any way I can.” Kenshin said modestly. He was a little embarrassed to be praised like this.
“No sir, we are giving our gratitude where it belongs,” Denji said with a smile.
“Is that so! Then I will accept your gratitude.” No accepting their gratitude would be rude to them. Hence Kenshin accepted it with a smile.
“About your complaint sir, can we know what happened?” Denji asked.
“That person, he was being rude to me. He even dared to threaten me in my own house.” Kenshin said pointing his finger towards a pale-faced Doi, sitting in a corner.
From the moment he saw these people being respectful to him, he realized that was no hope for him anymore. He could only hope his uncle would help him. It’s a pity that he didn’t know his uncle had already abandoned him.
“This matter, leave it to us, sir. We will investigate this matter thoroughly and enact justice for you!” Denji promised him and moved towards Doi.
“You, we have received complaints against you. Come with us obediently or else we will use force.” Denji said in a stern voice.
“You! Do you know who I am? You can’t be like this to me! my uncle is the vice-principal of the Hunters’ Academy. He will not leave you alone!” Doi shouted like a fanatic, but the disciplinary members pulled him away.
Before going, Denji once again thanked Kenshin and left. Seeing such an over the top reaction, Kenshin couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable. He was not the type to enjoy such attention.
After Doi was pulled away, Kenshin and the girls returned to their works. The girls returned to their room, to gossip about what they had just seen.
Kenshin returned to his phone; trying to see who was the one that called him earlier. Scrolling through the options, he finally found it.
It was Maria.
“Shit!!” he unintentionally cursed.
