“So, what do you say? We can't just condemn a family as large as that without solid proof, you know, even though I love you to death, this is still something I cant do… at least for now that is.” Yuki shrugged helplessly. She was telling the truth, she really couldn’t do anything of that scale until she gets something solid as a form of proof.
“So, even you can't do anything about it without solid proof, huh… that’s troubling. At least help me to find who leaked my credentials.” Kenshin looked troubled. If Yuki couldn’t do anything officially, then he had to do it unofficially, which was more troublesome than it should… moving against a huge family like that alone wasn’t a walk in the park by any means.
“Hmm, this can be done. Your achievements weren’t recorded officially, so I am guessing that the one who leaked your information wasn’t actually aiming for you specifically. They leaked every single hunter active that night, you just happen to be recognized by the poison man that managed to flee.” Yuki said while drumming her lithe pale fingers rhythmically on the wooden table. She gave Kenshin a knowing look that usually given to a child who was just caught doing something wrong.
“You are saying, it's my fault for today’s mishap?” Kenshin asked defensively while raising his hands in the air.
“What do you think? Whose fault do you think it is to let someone who had seen your face go like that? I believe you had enough strength that night to detain both your target, why did you only bring one allowing the other one to go? Isn’t this just being lazy in your part?” Yuki’s eyes seemed as if they are peering at Kenshin’s very soul as if she saw through all his deepest darkest mistakes that he had done both subconsciously and knowingly.
For a moment, Kenshin became speechless. Her counter was so strong and to the point that he couldn’t find a perfect excuse to dissuade her. He breathed out a mouthful of air, looking like a deflated balloon. Landing both his elbow on the wooden desk, he cradled his head as if he was in pain.
“You are right, indeed. I had enough strength to kill him as well as the man I have brought, simultaneously. But I don’t know why… every time I confront an enemy, I somehow get unilateral… like my thinking process couldn’t keep up with the strength and ability I possess. I repeatedly think of myself as a weak hunter, doing stuff according to how a weak hunter does.
That night, when they both ganged up on me… I could have spammed my techniques on them, sparing them no room to even think of running. I could have brought them in a half-dead condition. But my mind didn’t work that way that night. When the man attacked, I became flurried, giving my full attention to one which wasn’t needed at all, ultimately allowing one to escape.” Kenshin poured out everything after Yuki pointed that out.
This problem was something he never stopped to think about. Always subconsciously avoiding it. Kenshin knew where the problem lay, and that was in maintaining a level headed mind, thinking a few steps ahead of current… its what he lacked. A proper judgment of his battle and enemy, including his own situation. That night if he thought of how much problems he could face if letting a single person go, he wouldn't have dilly-dallied, allowing the person who had seen his face to escape.

“Sigh. It's good that you know your shortcomings. That means half of the work was already over. Now only that remained is to mature slowly, you know, I don’t know much about hunter things, but I guess this only happened because you lack experience against human opponents. I have faith that you would eventually do what you lack currently.” Yuki smiled and said a few words of encouragement.
“Thanks.” Kenshin smiled, feeling a burden lifted from his heart. He knew better than anyone where exactly the problem was. It was because he grew just too quickly and the most unnatural way possible. Everything started with the bonus he received from forming a contract.
‘Speaking of contract, it seems I only have 10 days left before the timer ends for good. But, honestly, where do I find another core to form a contract with?’ Kenshin thought he was really left with no way to go regarding this. While he wasn’t willing to let go of such good title bonuses and skills that changed the flow of the game for him, he still had no clue how or with whom he should form another contract.
“Hey, Yuki, how about we go for a date tonight? After your office ends…” Kenshin asked. He shelved all worries to the back of his mind. For now, he would enjoy his time with the girl he loved, the girl with whom he had a pretty good chemistry right from the first day they met.
“Eh! Really? You got it… a date… we haven’t gone to one for a long time. I wonder what I should wear! What do you think? Should I wear a dress or skirt or shorts, maybe!?” Yuki had stars for eyes the moment she heard Kenshin was bringing her to a date.
“Well, wouldn’t you look great with whatever you wear?” Kenshin honestly replied with a smile. But it didn’t satisfy the office lady. She puffed her cheeks while crossing her hands under her sizable buts, accentuating it even further, “What with that unenthusiastic answer? I am asking for your honest opinions here!”
“But I am telling you the truth. You would really look good in anything you wear… well, since you want to be specific, I guess shorts… I haven’t seen you wearing one, like ever. I am pretty curious about how you would look wearing one.” Scratching his cheeks, Kenshin said while looking contemplative. He imagined how Yuki would look with a pair of shorts.
‘I hope she owns those denim shorts girls these days so much crazy about’ with pretty wishful thinking, Kenshin looked forward to tonight's date, if only to see what Yuki would wear.
“Ah! Yeah, you are right. You haven’t seen me wearing one of those… you got it. Shorts for tonight then. Wash those eyes and ready to be dazzled tonight.” Yuki showed the whites of her teeth with a V sign.
“Hahaha!” Kenshin couldn’t help but laugh, finding Yuki to be quite cute at that moment. Then they both turned silent, staring at the eyes of each other. Unconsciously they came closer with neither one realizing this. The gap between them rapidly closed as both Yuki and Kenshin leaned at each other, still staring at each other’s eyes.
Just as their lips were going to meet…
“Excuse me, can I come in.”
…someone asked for permission to enter her cabin. It's only then they both found their awkward position. Yuki’s face heated like a room heater in an instant, turning as red as a ripe apple. Even Kenshin sported a mild blush as he coughed awkwardly.
‘Dammit!’ they both thought at the same time, feeling annoyed towards whoever broke their moment.
Yuki wasn’t a professional for nothing, she instantly regained her cool. Resuming her prim and proper office boss pose replied with a “Come in.”
A bespectacled woman around the same age as Yuki entered the room, holding a handful of papers. She wore the same type of office attire Yuki wore, but she looked a little clumsier than Yuki, who pulled off the proper office-lady look. But…
‘They are huge! Her buttons are struggling to keep her shirt together.’ Kenshin thought as he stared discreetly at the huge knockers the woman possesses.
“Ahem!” a fake cough came from his front, making Kenshin pale in fright while muttering ‘Shit’ in his heart. Turning his head around, he saw Yuki was looking at him with a cold look on her face.
