301. Ena

-Vol 5: A New Life-

-Ena-

With a swing of the oversized hammer, the mysterious twin-tailed girl sent the fireball flying. Then she stood up in the road with her hammer on her tiny shoulders and the other hand on her hips. She then looked at the sky where the ball flew and nodded to herself. Then she turned around and flashed a smile at Joy.

“Hey! How do you do? Boss sent me as your backup.” The little girl was petite and tiny, looking no older than a 14 years old girl. She had long red hair that reached up to her knees when she stands up straight. She had big and a little expressive pink eyes and red eyebrows. With a tiny mouth that had a small fang jutting out of her right side of the lower lip, she looked extremely cute. She wore a pair of black biker shorts and a blue sleeveless t-shirt, above which she wore a blue colored jacket. She wore a pair of military-grade knee-length shoes.

“Who are you?” Joy asked after pulling himself together. The initial shock was too great.

“My name is Ena. Boss sent me to back you up. Even so, you are holding pretty well, I don’t think I will be needed here.” The girl said with a smile and then turned around to look at the three skeletons and the skeleton magician standing in front of the Necromancer. She especially cast a glance at the necromancer, a hint of hatred flashed in her eyes, but it vanished soon after.

“That man is a bad person,” Ena said, pointing at necromancer who was looking even more cautious than before.

“Who are you?” the necromancer asked rudely. When he looked at the little lady just now, for some reason, it gave him the feeling of looking at an undead in an undead dungeon. But it can’t be right, this lady didn’t look like an undead. Moreover, she looked like a lively kid out to play with her friends.

“shut up! I don’t want to talk to you, baddy. You did all these nasty things with them!” she said, pointing at the skeletons standing in front of her. As an undead herself, Ena clearly understood another undead. In the past, there was never an undead with a high amount of intelligence. But she was both and even capable of expressing her heart.

“Nasty things? Oi kid, you can't slander me. I have given them another life, they are my creations, made from my ability and skill. How can I do nasty things with them?” the necromancer laughed as he explained with his arms spread wide.

“Ena, what’s happening? What are you talking about?” Joy couldn’t understand the meaning of the conversation and asked the girl. In the first place, he also didn’t understand who this girl was calling as ‘boss’ and why did he want to send help.

‘Did Kenshin contact someone?’ Joy thought that Kenshin might have called someone to send reinforcement after seeing so many enemies. So he didn’t ask about her for the time being.

“This man is a baddy. He trapped the soul of people inside them to make them his cronies.” She said as she pointed at the emotionless skeletons.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

“Soul!”

“That’s right soul. I can see them screaming in agony inside that skeleton. They are forced inside them.” Ena, the little girl, showed a little painful emotion on her face before anger took over. Grabbing her hammer, she swung it once in front of her, creating a mild flow of wind and shouted at Necromancer, “I will destroy these skeletons and free those poor souls so that they can go to the sky. Look how I smash your face with my hammer.”

“Hmph! What can a little girl like you do? You think just because of you wield a huge hammer, I would be afraid. Think again.” With a snort, the necromancer signaled his skeletons to attack once again. At the same time closed his eyes as a huge amount of dark smog emanated from it, covering his figure in it. The dark fog then turned into 4 black balls and entered into the body of the four skeletons.

As the black balls entered into their body, the boney teeth ground with each other in their skulls, making a frightening sound. At the same time, before the astonished eye of Joy, the size of these skeletons started to increase. Those average human-sized skeletons suddenly transformed into the size of prehistoric apes. Black tribal marking appeared all over their body with a reverse pentagram diagram on the skull of the skeleton.

Only the skeleton magician didn’t have a size change, but still, tribal marks and pentagrams were visible all over its body and skull.

“They buffed up!” Ena said without an ounce of worry. She wasn’t afraid of these skeletons. No matter how powerful they become, they can’t come near to her stats, let alone defeat her in battle. She didn’t let these skeletons to have the initiative to attack, holding her hammer, she ran at them.

When she reached the strike range of the first skeleton, she swung her hammer in an attempt to sweep away her enemy. The hammer suddenly glowed pink and expanded in size, perfectly covering the inflated skeleton. The skeleton already had enough reaction time when it was small, now, after receiving a boost from necromancer’s black ball, it had increased several times. It tried to dodge, but the hammer was just too big after being magically enlarged.

The skeleton then crossed its arms and tried to black the hammer strike.

[Boom!]

With a booming noise, the skeleton was sent flying, despite its upgrade, it was still unable to completely block the girl’s hammer. Making a roll and a few flips in mid-air, the skeleton stabilized itself and landed on the ground. Just as it was about to run back to attack the girl, suddenly its leg bones cracked and broke to splinters. It fell down face first on the road.

Ena didn’t stop to observe the outcome, she set her target to the other skeleton who was rushing at her with its shield and sword held high. Taking a step back, she pivoted with her toe and spun with her hammer on tow, creating a whirlwind effect with her deadly hammer. Fire blazed from the hammer’s pointy tip and soon surrounded the girl, creating a fire tornado.

All undead had an instinctive fear towards the fire and its purifying nature. Even the skeleton magician, which was proficient in using fireballs, also afraid of fire. Humans are afraid of guns, that didn’t mean they can’t use guns. When the fire tornado touched the shield, the black mass emanating from it started to behave unsteadily. The fire started to purify them at speed visible to the naked eye.

Although it couldn’t feel pain, the skeleton still backed away, screaming in a horrendous tone that sounded like millions of ghost screaming at the same time.

With mouth agape, Joy stood behind watching the little girl easily getting rid of a skeleton. He had tried his hardest and used his ability to utmost before he could destroy their shields before. But she just had to swing her hammer, and one skeleton destroyed just like that.

‘What the hell? Since when such a powerful little girl appeared?’ Joy thought of this as he observed the girl welding hammer like a pro. She alone already took care of two skeletons and proceeding for the third one.
