-Vol 5: A New Life-
-A shadow!-
Now Kenshin was sure after the emergence of Intent, there would be no more surprises for him. But his system gave him one out of the blue, that too something he had never known before. Its already been a few months since he got this system, in this time he ha checked out every nook and cranny of it but there was no mention of any Karma points in any of boxes. So then from where does this Karma point come from? And what the hell was the use of such Karma points?
Try as he might, Kenshin couldn’t understand this. Since there was no other way to know this, he could only throw it to the back of his mind and think about it later.
After erasing everything from the scene, he put back the sword inside his inventory before walking out through the gate from which they all came from. The earlier fight with that man had taught many things to him, not underestimating your enemy was the most crucial lesson of all. If he wanted, he would have eradicated him instantly by using his divine skill or his destruction manipulation, but he didn’t do so. It's not out of arrogance but because he wanted to defeat his opponent with a few skills as possible. In the end, he didn’t use any skill, only some of its properties.
If even with that much he was unable to defeat his enemy, then he would have used some of his more destructive skills. But the enemy wasn’t strong enough to force him to use such drastic measures. From this fight another benefit was obtained by him, he learned the proper way to use Intent. Although he was still an amateur in using it, he believed that with passing the time, he could use his Intent as easily was the man he defeated just now. Kenshin also believed that amplifying someone’s offensive or defensive capabilities wasn’t the only use of Intent, their must be something else.
As he walked out of place, he followed the same track Yuki followed previously. Opening his map, he tracked down her current location and followed it there. Right then, he was completely unaware that a shadow had seen everything he just did inside. The shadow was quite nimble and followed Kenshin without even alerting him. Its green eyes were looking at his back in curiosity. The nimble shadow was following Kenshin for quite a long time without even him realizing, so its stealth skills were top notch.
Unaware of this follower, Kenshin hurried along to where Yuki’s location was showing. As Kenshin tried to speed up, the nimble shadow tried to keep up but ultimately failed and watched as Kenshin gradually vanished from its sight. At that time, its eyes were filled with sadness and a little anger. To whom it was directed was yet to be seen.
*Sniff* *Sniff*
Then suddenly the shadow started to sniff the road that Kenshin just took and followed the way Kenshin just went through.

After running for a few minutes, Kenshin found himself at the front door of nearest DCB branch situated in Iwaki. Unlike Mito’s office, this one is big, like skyscraper big. After all, this one was the office of a whole province, so it has to be big. Yuki didn’t have her mobile with her now, or else he would have called her. Since it was like that, he had no other way but to look for her in this office. Thankfully he had his map.

When he was about to enter, two soldiers came forward and stopped him, “Officials only”. Its night, after all, the office for the general populace was already being closed. So right now, only officials or high ranked hunter could enter. It was no wonder he was stopped, with his current attire, he looked like one of those funky teenagers. No wonder he was stopped by these people.
Inserting his hands into his pocket, he retrieved his ID card issued by the DCB and handed it to one of the officials stationed there. Furrowing his brows, the official received the card and examined it slowly until his eyes widened. He hurriedly placed it under the code reader machine, the full detail of Kenshin’s official profile came forward in the computer screen.
“I am sorry sir for not recognizing you. Here is the card. You can enter, please.” The official became unusually polite after seeing the card. What a joke, this man was a very high official of the government, not to mention he was a magic skill user. These people generally had an immeasurable future.
“Thank you!” with that he entered inside. It’s the night time, so the office was devoid of any people save for the officials. Now the problem lied in finding out where Yuki was. He had already entered the office, and the red dot was showing that he was near her, but in this huge office where he would search for her? Looking around in distress, he found an enquiry office, so he hurried along there.
The one who was sitting on the enquiry table was a middle-aged man who was seemed to be eating something. When Kenshin entered the office, he looked at him with a frown, not even bothering to wipe his hands or putting away the food in the table.
The man’s rude attitude really pissed Kenshin off, but he forced himself to calm down. After all, he needs his help right now. He looked at his attitude for a few more seconds before sitting in front of him.
“How can I help you?” the man could no longer endure being silent now that Kenshin sat in front of him. He was rude, very much so but Kenshin didn’t pay him any mind. Crossing his hands on the table, he leaned forward and looked at the man for a few seconds before starting to speak.
“I indeed need your help. There is this girl just now who entered your office, I reckon it some fifteen minutes ago. Can you tell me where can I find her now?” Kenshin’s tone was neither polite nor rude. He spoke indifferently like how one speaks to a stranger.
“You…did you think it’s a lost and found office? You think we people didn’t have any other business but to search for some guy’s lost girlfriend? Now get out of here before asking the security to do so.” The man spoke rudely.
“I am not telling that she was lost. She came here just a few minutes ago because I asked her to. We should be meeting here, but I couldn’t find her. Can you tell me where she is? Besides she isn't your average girl, she is the…” suddenly Kenshin stopped in his tracks before starting to sweat and thought ‘That’s right, I know Yuki was a high official in DCB, but I never asked her about her rank. What the fuck! Now, what the hell should I speak? This goddamn map, if it’s a little more detailed, I wouldn’t have faced such problems.’ Suddenly Kenshin placed all the blame onto his map.
“She is what?” the man seeing the young man stopped midway thought that Kenshin’s lie was caught, so he became even more arrogant and rude.
“Hmm! I don’t know about her rank, but she should be someone sent from the capital to oversee the work of all the officials of nearest provinces of Ibaraki province. Now you should recognize her, right?” Kenshin asked, feeling very embarrassed that he didn’t know about his to be girlfriend’s rank.
