-Vol 5: A New Life-
-A fierce battle!-
The vibrating air, the collapsing space…they are all optical illusions. It's not a Wuxia novel, but the shock wave was real. When the force behind Kenshin’s punch as well as the monster’s punch collided with each other, it was like two iron rods colliding with each other. Now, when two iron rods collide, a sound will produce. That sound was accompanied by a wave of shock, which was generally not that high to be noticed by anyone other than the two holders of the iron rod.
But in here, the resulting force was simply too great to be only felt by Kenshin and eh monkey. It produced a large number of shocking waves that dispersed in the surrounding, bending a few trees and cracking the ground. But along with the excess shock wave, some waves dis traveled through both monster and Kenshin, but Kenshin was too strong to be affected, but the monster wasn’t. It had to back away a few steps to stabilize itself. It's every step created trenches in the ground. After stabilizing itself, it looked dumbly at the human that it exchanged punches with.
Astonishment and a bit of fear flashed on its eye as it stared at the leisurely standing human. It couldn’t have thought that the human that dared to come in this deep into the forest was this strong. Its instinct told it to flee from here as far as possible, but the pride as the chief was preventing him from doing it. Especially when its subjects were around. For the first time, the monkey chief felt his position to be a curse rather than a blessing.
More than anything, it felt anger. In a flight or fight situation, if you can’t flight then, the only option was to fight. But even though it wanted to fight, the beast realized its adversary was just too strong. With just a punch, it was wounded in its right shoulder. The muscles and tendons there were all torn to shreds, causing a serious case of internal bleeding. But, in the end, it’s a monster, and they have weird bodies and even weirder skills.
Passive regeneration was a common skill among this species. So, it was a fact that the chief also had it. In addition to it, the chief also has skills like [Stone Skin], [Holler] and [Call].
The skill [Stone Skin] was self-explanatory to Kenshin, but [Holler] and [Call] were new. [Holler] was a sound based attack that affects one’s center of gravity, making them dizzy and unresponsive in a short amount of time. As for [Call], it’s a skill that made the chief, The Chief. Basically, it’s a skill with two types of uses, one, it allows the chief to control all the other monkeys and two, it forms a sort of blood contract with other monkeys, making it receive 10% of total EXP of every monkey.
After seeing it, Kenshin was really attracted towards that [Call] skill, but it couldn’t be copied because he neither had skill points or enough EXP to level up his Replication skill. This was why he had always saved some of the SP for rainy days. If it's not for that tragedy in the north, he wouldn’t have used all his treasures so soon.

‘That’s right. I will spare this chief today. I will mark it with my map and will come back after my replication skill levels up.’ Kenshin made a decision and nodded to himself. After deciding to spare the monkey’s life, Kenshin’s next course of action was to make it flee.
‘But how?’ it was difficult to make an enraged monster flee than kill it entirely. And this was a boss tier monster. But Kenshin wasn’t afraid for himself, he was afraid that he might accidentally kill it with a swing of his hand. That’s why in the previous punch, he had only used 40% of his total strength to counter its punch. Even so, the monster couldn’t handle it, its shoulder tendons were all torn into shreds.
‘Well, I will just have to break its legs and hands, then!’
The monkey chief took only a few minutes to heal from those grievous wounds and madly dashed towards Kenshin. Reason had already left its head, making it true to its instinct. A frenzied monster hell-bent on destroying everything.
The monster was around ten meters, making it a towering monster in the eyes of other hunters. But to Kenshin, who had seen monsters of the size more than 50 meters, it was a just a child. With a loud roar, the monster rushed towards Kenshin, its body glowed yellow; it had used [Stone Skin] skill as well as [Holler] at the same time.
Kenshin felt an itch in his ears as the skill [Holler] was executed, but it didn’t have any other effect. After that, the monster already approached him with its massive mace raised high to smash Kenshin into pulp. Its bloodshot eyes didn’t hold any intelligence it showed before.
“COME!!” Kenshin shouted in excitement. He then clenched his fist tightly, causing the veins to pop out and wriggle like a worm under his skin. This time he used more than 70% of his total strength. As the mace approached, his fist went through the mace like a hot knife through the butter. The mace was also broken into small shards due to the backlash of his punch’s force.
Before the monster realized anything, Kenshin had already appeared behind its spine, performing a spin, he kicked the lower spine with nearly 80% of strength.
*Crack!!
An audible crack noise was heard. It was the monster’s broken spine’s sound.
[ROARRRRR!!!] the monster roared loudly as the pain was unbearable for it to endure. At the same time due to the destruction of its spine, its body couldn’t get longer its legs. It kneeled on the spot and laid face down. It hadn't lost its consciousness, just in too much pain to do anything. Also, the earlier roar had ruptured its vocal cords, making it unable to produce any sounds.
Performing a somersault in the air, he landed on the ground beside the monkey and observed it clearly. It HP was decreased by lit as well as a paralyzed status condition was added to its stats, but otherwise, it was okay. It would live.
“Hmm! It's moving!” Kenshin was surprised to see its movement. Before long, the monkey turned itself around and glared at Kenshin. Then looking at the sky, it puckered its mouth and weirdly roared in a strange voice.
Hearing it, Kenshin narrowed his eyes and looked at the monkey in suspicion, wondering what was it going to do. He was not disappointed. Before long, he felt something malicious approaching his area of senses. Looking around, his eyes widened, and with a quick movement, he jumped away from the spot.
[BOOM!!]
A huge rock, probably the size of a huge boulder fell down on where he was standing before. But its just starting, after that followed was another rock, trunk of huge trees, even more, rocks and even some monkeys.
The monkeys were throwing whatever they find at him!!
