-Vol 4: To The North Pole!-
-Killing With Just A Thought!-
Kenshin was ready to slaughter these wolves. He grabbed his sword and was about to get up, suddenly a soft but firm hand grabbed his left hand and pulled him down. The strength of that pull was so strong that it made Kenshin unable to resist at all.
“Are you mad?” Vera lightly chided. She was not really angry at him, on the contrary, she was a little appreciative of his actions. In this dead-end situation, instead of panicking out, Kenshin decided to fight. It made her very happy that Kenshin wasn’t a coward or an individual to quickly lose his cool. It was the most crucial aspect of a powerful hunter.
They must always keep their emotions under control. Only a composed hunter could think through any situation they were in.
So when she saw he was about to get up and start the slaughterfest, how could she not stop him? She even decided to teach him a thing or two.
Being pulled like that, Kenshin looked inquisitively towards her. His brows were furrowed in puzzlement.
“Do you know how many wolves are there?” she asked.
“Around a hundred…” Kenshin answered honestly. He had counted the number of green dots in the screen. He even knew their exact locations. Including all these, he had formulated a plan to kill all these monsters. Although he would get hurt, at least he would be able to kill all of them.
Now it was time for Vera to be surprised. She asked the number, fully expecting to hear a no. Then from that point, she would teach him how to detect hidden monsters or enemies. But she had never expected Kenshin to already know this. Narrowing her eyes, she asked further.
“Do you know their exact locations?”
Thinking that she was seriously asking these, Kenshin nodded affirmatively and proceeded to pinpoint their locations.
With widened eyes, Vera noted all his pointed locations and found monsters all those places. Its as if nothing could hide his senses. There were some places where her senses couldn’t reach and hence ignored earlier. It made her surprise levels rise a few notches.
“It seems you are very good at scouting out a place.” She honestly praised him with a smile. Although her plans were failed, it didn’t inflate her. On the contrary, it made her happy that Kenshin already knew it and was better at it. It made her work all the more simple.
To her question, Kenshin could only laugh awkwardly. He couldn’t actually say that it was his system’s work now, can he?

Vera then calmly leaned on the wall behind her and patted the open seat beside her. Understanding her intentions, he moved to her side and sat down. Now they both faced towards the cave opening.
Suddenly Vera widened her eyes as an invisible force swept out of her like a tidal wave. The invisible force was so powerful that it caused distortions in the physical world. Even Kenshin who was sitting near her felt his hairs swinging in the air. The invisible force was swift and only lasted for a second, but Kenshin clearly saw its pathway.
Suddenly, out of ten wolves standing in the front started acting crazily before bleeding through all their pores. Then one by one fell to the ground dead. Seeing this, Kenshin couldn’t help but take a deep breath. This woman was seriously frightening. She killed ten wolves from all the way here!
Seeing Kenshin’s flabbergasted expression, a smile crept up on her face.
“What do you think I did?” she asked with a smile.
After taking some time to think, Kenshin replied: “I think that transparent beam, it was some sort of skill you used to kill those ten wolves.”
“Haha!! It was good that you are able to see that transparent beam even with the speed it traveled, but you are wrong in one aspect. It wasn’t a skill. It was just my ‘thought’” Vera smilingly replied.
“Your thought?” Kenshin asked like a student that didn’t understand his teacher’s blabberings.
“That’s right. My ‘thought.’ You can say that I ‘thought’ those wolves to die. Hence they died.” She said patiently.
“…Is that even possible humanly?” Kenshin couldn’t digest what she was saying. Making things happen just from a thought! That’s a realm belongs only to gods. How can a mere human do it? Suddenly an idea struck Kenshin, don’t tell me she was a goddess? He looked funnily at her.
“No, I am not a goddess.” She denied as if reading his mind.
“You can read my mind?”
“No, I can’t. It's just you who is predictable.”
“But you said you killed them with your thoughts only!”
“That’s what I did. And you can do that too.” She continued with a smile. Unlike her first impression, that seemed like an impatient brute, she was in reality very patient woman.
By now, due to sudden, brutal death of 10 wolves, all the other wolves had stopped their advance and warily looking towards the cave. The leader of the pack was nowhere to be seen, but it was controlling the troops according to the situation.
“I can do that too?” but Kenshin and Vera did not even mind it. To vera, it didn’t matter where the leader of the pack was, with just thought she can kill all these monsters. As for Kenshin, he was too busy in being surprised to mind such minute detail.
“Of course you can. In fact what I did isn’t that great among the upper echelons. There were some who can make these monsters fight each other to death. it was all power of your willpower.”
“Willpower?!” Kenshin was very surprised at this. He didn’t expect to hear its name being called so suddenly. After finding out some of the usages of his WIL, Kenshin thought he’s the only one who knew it well. But it seems he was being mistaken. The way Vera used her Wil, it was so excellent and precise that it made his way to use crude in comparison.
In the end, he was still vastly unknown about the world as a whole. Seeing him speechless, Vera continued:
“That’s right, Willpower. You have already awakened it. I used that WIL to make this happen. We call this phenomenon, Intent. When I used my WIL on them, I intended to kill, so they died horribly.
Similarly, by possessing different intents, different results can be achieved. But it was only possible theoretically. In reality, one person could master at most only 2 intents. It was their limit.”
