-Vol 5: A New Life-
-Dilong-
The water pillar shot to the sky like a rocket, reaching a height of twenty meters before stopping abruptly. The water in the pillar also didn’t go at a single direction, they also rotated along the pillar, like a rolling snake on the ground. Both Kenshin and the Sakurai had their eyes widened at the sight of suddenly emerged water pillar. They were ill prepared for it and were caught off guard.
The water pillar twisted around like a snake, before going still suddenly. Then slowly, all the gathered water started to fall off as the force that rosed them dissipated. The problem was the, if it directly falls off, the yacht below would surely be affected by the falling force of the water.
Sakurai reacted fast, he jumped up and started to glow golden color. Before long, a huge amount of golden light gathered in his hands. He then fondled the gathered light and molded it to the shape of a huge light-shield. The shield was large enough to cover the entire yacht and everyone below.
‘Light magic user?’ Kenshin was startled. It was his first time seeing a genuine light magic user. Although there were many verities of skills, people still held special feeling for light, healing, purification, and overall, all types of holy attributed magic skills. The people who had these skills would be hailed respectfully by common masses and even some hunters. The importance of these light magic user lies in their excellence against all the undead or specter class monsters.
A hunter who had mastered his magic skill to a very high level could even kill low-level specter class monsters with their auras alone. These guys are absolute poisons for these specter class monsters, like how they were poison for common hunters. Nonetheless, it was his first time seeing a genuine light magic skill user.
Before he had heard that Light Magic skills were dexterous and strong, seeing it first hand he wasn’t disappointed at all.
Sakurai seemed to float in the air as he held the massive shield that sheltered the yacht from all waterfall. As for Kenshin, who was standing below, he could now see what caused such a weird phenomenon. And what he saw made him think that he was dreaming. If Sakurai’s Light Magic had surprised him, the appearance of this monster caused his breath to hitch.
It was huge, at least the same size as the giant squid he had fought earlier. Its body was covered in a black slick looking scales, that shined in the moonlight as well as the light reflected from the Light Shield created by Sakurai. It had a huge lion head completed with green hairs and a pair of huge yellow horns. It had muddy yellow eyes, that seemed to glow in the dark, as it stared at Sakurai’s shield. As for the rest of the body, it was just like a huge snake, except for a pair of hands near its head.
By appearance, it looked like the legendary Flood Dragon of Chinese mythology.
Seeing that its water pillar was stopped, the ‘Flood Dragon’ opened its mouth and started to roar at a very loud noise, knocking the yacht as well as the ocean across 200 meters with the sounds waves alone.
By now, the people who were inside the yacht that could move already came out to observe the situation. When their eyes landed on Kenshin, a few had their eyes widened while others directly ignored him. Hunters who had already gone through their first awakening had their physical parameters enhanced by many times. They were very sensitive to various things. Just now, when Kenshin arrived and talked with Sakurai, they had heard the full conversation. From that, they determined that this new person wasn’t an enemy, rather a much-needed help.

Right now, they were in no condition to have another fight with a high-level monster, but they can only grit their teeth and go along. Actually out of twelve people, only 5 came out as the rest were still recuperating from their earlier injuries.
Seeing that no one trying to find fault with him, Kenshin felt relieved. Taking this chance, Kenshin scanned the creature.

‘The hell? It's that strong?’ Unconsciously Kenshin’s face twisted into a grim frown. His eyebrows narrowed down, and the space above his penial gland began to throb. It was a common occurrence for him whenever he was worried or afraid. Kenshin knew that he could easily read a person’s stats depending upon their level difference from him. The lower the level difference, the more he could find about the person, similarly, the higher the difference, the lesser he could find about them. The upper limit though was 30 levels higher than his. After that, he could only see the question marks like now.
Since he could only see its name, the monster’s level might be more than 30 levels higher than him. Currently, he was level 82, so this must be above level 125. After finding this, Kenshin threw a glance around and found none of the hunters gathering here had a level more than this monster. The highest was only level 117.
After the water pillar’s effect ended, Sakurai landed lightly on the yacht, near Kenshin as he grimly observed the monster that yet to make another attack.
“This doesn’t look good!” Sakurai muttered while giving a sidelong glance at Kenshin, trying to find something. The only thing he saw was a look of astonishment on the later’s face. Sakurai inched closer to him and said, “Be careful. It’s a monster that shares many properties with Chinese flood dragons. Besides being huge and powerful, they could freely control water and a bit of thunder. They could even generate powerful shock waves from their mouths.”
“I see. Thank you for the info.” Kenshin smiled at the crew cut man who used Light Magic, then grasped the handle of his [Balckmoon Beheader] before steadily pulling it out of its scabbard. As the sword was longer than him by a few inches, it took him a little more than a single tug to pull out the whole sword.
‘I will have to practice some sword drawing skills for this over the top long sword.’ Kenshin embarrassingly thought as he pulled out the sword from the scabbard and let it hang from his waist. Since there were so many people around, he couldn’t put it inside the inventory.
Placing the dull edge of the sword on his shoulders, Kenshin observed the Dilong with faint killing intent. The remainder of Sakurai about its skills made him draw a layout of the battle prowess of the monster, although it was his first time seeing such a monster.
As everyone observing the snake, with the later doing the same to them, they seemed to be in an impasse. Suddenly the snake moved, it opened its maw, showing its razor-sharp zagged teeth to everyone present.
“Careful! It's going to attack!” someone shouted. At the same time, the monster roared even louder than before, rocking the water as well as the yacht even more violently.
*ROAR*
Formless but zagged transparent ripples formed on the air, whose source seemed to be the monster’s mouth. Very soon, the ripples expanded to the point of covering the entire space around the yacht as well as the surrounding within 50 meters.
BOOM!!
The moment the ripples touched the surface of the water, they exploded like a detonator, spraying hot water everywhere. Very soon the ripples appeared in front of Kenshin as well as other hunters. When they were still a few centimeters away from him, Kenshin moved his sword which was glowing red and slashed it towards an edge of the ripple.
*BOOM!!*
