-A hundred-year-old family’s fall(5)- 

As the effect of red hot beam vanished, a long line of molten ground could be seen starting from Leena’s front. The laser beam or plasma beam that she had created and let loose just now had molten the very ground it travelled over. A few tens of meters away from her; the charred body of the muscled man laid with his face down. His legs were already burned to crisp, leaving not even his bones behind. Leena walked step by step without even trying to hurry. She knew her opponent was in no condition to fight, so there was no need for her to hurry. 

The attack she just used was an ultimate attack of her skill, it cost her a chunk of her magic reserves. As a result, she was a little tired. She was also vigilant of the other woman’s sudden appearance, so she didn’t show any weakness on her face. There was also another reason why she showed this attack, it was to warn the other woman to not have any ideas about her. Although she couldn’t see her or sense her anymore, she was sure the woman was monitoring everything. With her weakened state right now, she might not be able to take her own. As such, she showed this attack and a confident front so that the Kimono-wearing woman would think that she(Leena) was strong.

Walking step by step, she wiped her sweaty palms on her dress while wiping away her sweats from her brows with her other hand. Tucking her hair away from her face, she neared the fallen man. Using her legs, she turned him around and found him passed out with blood oozing from his eyes, ears and nose. Though he was alive, his condition looks worse than a corpse. 

Bending down, just as she was about to check his pulse, she suddenly felt a change in her radar. Now that she had lost a lot of her magic, her range of influence had also decreased dramatically. Her previous hundred meters of influence was now reduced to twenty meters. That’s why she didn't sense the approaching enemy’s presence until this close. 

‘Is it her?’ Thinking of the woman who had fled from the beginning, her eyes flashed in worry. She was in a condition to fight with another one with the same amount of power as the man she just defeated. At most she could charge one of those beams again, but the speed at which the woman moves, there was no way she would let her charge it, let alone fire it. Her plan was clearly backfired on her, her enemy was a shrewd one. 

Not a few seconds later, the kimono-wearing woman appeared in a flash and aimed a kick at her. Applying a little bit of magic to her soles, she increased her KE and hastened away from her. Despite her moving from the way, the kick didn’t stop and continued until it landed on the head of the muscular man, splattering his brain matters all over the floor.

‘Her target wasn’t me!’ she clear of what happened instantly. The woman came back all the way to kill this loose end. 

‘Sheesh! What a vicious woman’ mused Leena. 

After making sure that the man was really killed, the kimono-wearing woman spat on his corpse and ran away again after flashing a smile to her. She didn’t waste her time on mindless chatter, neither she trash-talked like a typical terrorist. She just killed her companion to tie all the loose end and ran away after that. 

“She is a pro! But who are they? And who are they searching here?” wondering out loud, she sighed and finally looked at the destruction caused by the muscular man and the hunters. The ground floor of the office was ruined beyond salvation. Even if the ceiling hasn’t collapsed, not a single piece of furniture remained in one piece. Having all of them were reduced to splinters. 

“GODDAMMIT!!!” seeing all this destruction she shouted in frustration. That night the sound of a woman’s screaming and cursing could be heard all over the neighbours.

At the same time, a huge movement was going on inside the Kawakuchi family. Kaio has finally awakened after fainting for nearly a week. He was still weak and unable to consume solid food, he couldn’t also remain standing for more than a few minutes. The lady of the house and the official wide of Kaio was very elated at seeing her husband woke up. That happiness soon evaporated when she heard him repeatedly muttering about some woman named Yui. 

From the beginning, she was a jealous type of woman and never tolerated any other woman other than her beside her husband. She was also aware that her husband often has trysts with women outside her. In those cases, she would often make them disappear, either by killing them or by giving them money, so that they could never approach him again. 

But this time, it just crossed the line. Not only the woman turned him down, but also he was injured by her supposed boyfriend, and here this useless man still couldn’t forget her. She was inches away from slapping the hell out this man when she heard him muttering her name repeatedly. But, despite her anger, she also felt heartache. Unconsciously her eyes started to turn wet. 

So, to not appear weak in the presence of this man, she ran to her room. Locked the door and started to sob for a few minutes. What she didn’t do for this man? And yet he never saw her with those eyes which he would often use at some other woman. The way he talks to other women, he would never use that kind of sweet tone while with her. 

“What is it that I lack? Why didn’t he look at me like that? Why didn’t he talk to me like that? What did I do wrong? All I wanted is his love, yet, I could never get what I wished for!” she sobbed even harder when she remembered her’s and his past. Now that she thought about it, he became like that after that incident a few years back. 

The man to whom she married was used to be a good and respectable man. They both were of the same guild and even of the same party. After that one time when he saved her from a monster, she had fallen in love with him. But he had another woman in his heart. 

Later, unable to control her love towards him, she used her family’s influence to force him to marry her. Even after that she at a later date came to know that Kaio still had relationship with that woman and she was about to deliver their child. 

Getting angry and humiliated, she used all her power to send that woman and their unborn child to prison for a murder she hadn't committed. Kaio was so shocked and saddened that he lost consciousness for a few weeks. When he woke up, he could no longer remember that woman and neither about their unborn child. 

When he woke up from his slumber, he had completely changed. But it's not a change that she and Kawakuchi family desired or wanted. He became wastrel and typical trash that would throw away their family’s name wherever he goes. 

Its already been fifteen years since that incident. 

Her relationship with him was still there where it was fifteen years ago. Not a single change has occurred. 

“Is it Karma?” she couldn’t help but sigh when she thought about all this. she felt like fate had played a big joke with her.
