-Chapter 363-
After getting rid of Trisha’s corpse, Kenshin came up to find a huge giant flipped back like a turtle with his hands and legs flailing about. On one side, Joy, who was red like a lobster, and on the other side a frenzy looking Chiba, beating it with everything they had got.
‘Eh!’ Kenshin was also surprised to see a giant of a man getting beaten by tow ‘dwarfs’ like that. Both Chiba and Joy were so preoccupied with beating that man that they didn’t notice Kenshin coming at all. With a quick scan, Kenshin saw the man only had one skill called [Gigantification], which he really didn’t need with his Shapeshift skill. As for his HP, it's already in the red zone, a few more punches from Joy would send him to his way to the garden of flowers.
He didn’t interfere with their fun and instead started to clear the monsters around. All these monsters were around 90 to 95 level with HP more than 500k each; there was a saying about these higher-level dungeons, it was ‘there’s no mob monsters in a high-level dungeon, only stronger bosses’ which was a testament to the strength and durability of these creatures. Thankfully these guys were fighting in the safe zone, or else they would have already ganged up by these monsters.
The second floor of this dungeon was comprised of humanoid fire spirits that lacked a physical body. They couldn’t be hurt by blunt force alone, a hunter required to coat their weapons with WIL to damage them. Also, if there was a water type skill user, that hunter could use his/her water skills to damage them. Aside from these two, no other way was possible to damage these creatures.
The moment he came out of the safe zone’s protective bubble, a group of humanoid burning spirits came floating towards him. These spirits didn’t have legs, they can only levitate with the help of the flames. There were twenty in total, floating towards him randomly while making bone scratching noises as they did so. Calmly unsheathing his sword, he coated it with his Intent, the higher form of WIL, making it glow red.
When they all entered his absolute strike zone, he flashed his sword, sending a crescent wave of energy, decimating these creatures in half. A ‘-4457’ floated above every single monster’s head, as they were thrown back by the force of the swing, despite having no physical body.
Although their bodies were severed from the middle, they don’t have a physical body, so with the ignition of flames, they rejoined and came after Kenshin once more with renewed gusto. The same thing happened once, more as damage of 5k floated above their head. Kenshin had no problem spamming this AoE type attacks infinitely, his MP was in ten thousand, and his WIL was also at 4 digits, he could spam it all day long, and still have some leftover for next day.
Eight more attacks after, all the fire spirits fell to the ground, before vanishing to nothingness, leaving behind shiny loots. Kenshin didn’t spare them a glance, none the less, they were the only ones in this whole floor, those drops weren’t going anywhere. He was soon spotted by another group of 25 spirits and was surrounded once again. The same tactics were used once again, withing 10 slashes, they fell to ground, leaving behind shiny loots once more.
The process continued till the floor was devoid of all the spirits, while Kenshin suffered 0 damage. Only the boss of the floor remained, which was actually a flaming goat as tall as a bull. Looking back, he found, Joy and Chiba taking rest. The man’s HP hadn't depleted, which means he wasn’t dead, only lost his consciousness.
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
Kenshin could only shake his head at this, but he didn’t mind it. Joy was one thing, but Chiba was still a kid. It's still too early to stain her hands in blood, he had to make her mentality a little bit stronger before making her kill anyone.
‘Let’s challenge the boss then!’ Keshin decided and went forward to the place, a cave where the flaming ram was resting. The online forum said that this boss had two types of attack, a single target type, and an AoE type. The single target type skill was where it would choose a target and charger at him/her and stab them with its huge black horns. As for AoE, it would create a huge firewall around itself which would expand every second, until it reaches the very edge of the cave.
The official forum had an article on how to combat this AoE skill, according to those hunters, they have to distract the goat while it was using the AoE, if they make it distracted enough the skill would automatically get canceled, the boss would even receive a backlash, that would make half dead and deplete its vitality by a lot.
After entering the boss’s cave, he found the flaming ram sleeping while its body burned with embers reaching the roof of the cave. His system showed him the status of the creature.
[Flaming Ram(spirit creature)][Lv 100]
[HP: 1,000,000][MP:0]
[ATK: 5000][DEF: 4000][AGI: 2000]
[Skills]
* Charge Ram Lv 5(chooses a target and rams at it, causing the target to lose 50% of its total HP, cooldown time: 20 minutes)
* Fire Shield Lv 5(Creates a shield of pure embers around its body which would expand until a certain distance, all that touches the shield would be burned to cinders in seconds. It causes 50% HP loss to all within the range. Cooldown time: 20 minutes)
Hunters said that higher level dungeons were nothing like a lowe level dungeons, even their regular system was different and Kenshin could now see why. The boss’s HP alone would give hunters nightmares as not everyone had attack output as huge as Kenshin. Its skills were also pretty op, that deals its damage in % format instead of a fixed digit. To challenge such a monster, careful planning and no less than 20 hunter elites were required. Not to mention, they need to prepare at least a few HP and MP potions just in case.
An average estimation was done, and it showed that to successfully challenge this boss, no less than 5 million golds are required as an investment. Any less and there might be a chance of a party member's death.
“Let’s see what makes you so expensive to challenge…” Kenshin mumbled as he ran towards the creature while coating his sword with his WIL, as well as, all the debuff skills present. Thankfully this boss had a definite physical body, or else, the battle would have been near impossible for those hunters.
Bleeding, confusion, were the first ones to be cast upon it. Then came his Earthen Slicer and destructive slash… after that came was the laser skill he copied from the crow of Lyda. When all of these landed on the creature, a huge amount of damage floated above the boss’s flaming head.
[-210, 000]
[Critical hit succeeded, the target receives twice the damage.]
The there notification appeared as the flaming ram fell down due to the effect of confusion. The second time around, he used whirlwind, shake, impact touch and all exploding domain, causing another 150k damage to it. Also, he once again succeeded in triggering critical hit, but this time it tripled the damage. He had three-digit luck, which shouldn't be underestimated. It was the reason why he was able to trigger a critical strike both of the times. Only a minuscule amount of HP remained of the boss, about only 130,000. It would die with one more of his swing, but he didn’t do so. Instead, he stepped back and looked at where Chiba and joy were resting and gave them a shout to come over.
