-Team Fight(2)-
Kenshin gave a swing with his sword, not strong enough to kill the monster, which was impossible as the golem had more than 2M HP, but enough to gain its attention. Its HP was ten times more than what Chiba faced just now, so it would make the fight harder for her unless Kenshin and Joy play a vital role in it.
“Chiba, its radiation level is ten times more than what you faced before. Be on guard.” Giving her a reminder, Kenshin used [Five Point Moveent] and vanished away from the line of sight of the golem. After losing sight of its target, the golem set its feary eyes on the next one, which happened to be Chiba with her water whip ready.
“Got it. Take this!!” Chiba shouted loudly, striking its whip at the golem's hard area around its eye region. On its head, it was the only area where it can tale damage, also if she successfully lands a hit on that area, the chances of [Critical hit] triggering was 99%. Joy and Chiba couldn’t see the [Critical hit] message, but they knew that hitting that area would cause maximum damage to the golem, and they would arrive at the conclusion that it was a critical hit. After all, everyone had played these RPG games at some point in their childhood or even in their adulthood.
It was an unknown fact to civilians, but most of these hunters’ fighting style was derived from those RPG games. Even a few terms were also taken from these games. Not only that, software industries even created special games dedicated to hunters, where they could strategize against monsters and create new moves and combos before actually trying them in reality. In those games, the monsters, the terrains, the abilities, and even the movesets of the character, everything was designed according to a real hunter’s ability and the real monster in the dungeon.
It was exactly due to this accuracy, these kind of games were very popular among the hunters and even some civilians who managed to get these games with their connections. Even though it couldn’t help then in anything, it could at least gave them a general idea of what they should expect from certain monsters.
As the whip struck that exact hard location, a notification saying critical hit succeeded showed on Kenshin’s interface. As for Chiba, seeing that the golem was in a daze, she realized her attack was a success, so she instantly froze her whip, transforming it into an ice javelin. With a twist of her wrist, she sent it flying towards the eye hole, that hardened partially due to the dazed state of the golem.
[-12,000] floated above the feary head of the monster, as it stumbled back, trying to regain its bearing from its stunned state.
“Ora!!” Joy, who stood a few meters behind the golem initially, appeared out of nowhere and gave the hardened legs a vicious kick. Another 4k damage value floated above its head, as the huge golem started to fall to its left due to lack of balance and support. Making a fist with his hands, Joy turned around and gave an upper-cut to its rocky torso. The damage this upper-cut did was pretty insignificant, only 500, but it stunned the golem.
As it fell to a daze again, Chiab managed to create huge frozen javelin and made it fall over the creature from a height, like a Damocles’ sword. Though she didn’t have a wand or staff like long-range magicians usually do, she owned enough accessories to make up for it. She owned at least 6 rings that increase her INT and 4 that increases her WIS. Then, a necklace that increases her Water Attunement and Freezing ability. One set of earrings that decreases her casting time and a bracelet that allows her to store up to 5 skills to be used instantly.
When she wears all these, she looked like a young rich second generation punk with too much money to spare. Kenshin and Joy would often make fun of her, making her embarrass every time they saw her putting them on. The girl herself knew how ridiculous it looked on her, so she only wears them when she was inside a dungeon. Unfortunately, these accessories can only show their effect when they were worn on their designated places, or else she would have preferred to keep all of them in her pocket.

While the golem was still laying on the ground stunned, Chiba spammed her [Frozen javelin] relentlessly. These frozen javelin skill had 5 seconds casting time, so, within a minute, she can only spam 12 times. And this skill was her highest damage dealing skill among all she knew. Not only it causes 5k instant damage, but it also deals 500 frozen damage per second to the target for the next 10 seconds. In total, each time she casts one of these Javelins, she deals a grand total of 10k damage. In total she was needed to spam 200 of such javelins to kill it. As for time, it would take her 16 minutes, provided she never gets tired or runs out of mental energy or magic.
“Hmm, nice.” Kenshin nodded as he slapped his hands together and slammed them to the ground while half-kneeling. As he did so, a bunch of red etherial chains burst out of the ground and wounded around the huge golem, keeping it tied to the ground.
Chiba wasn’t the only one who was training, Kenshin and Joy were also doing the same. While Joy was training on improving his [Boost] ability and increasing his [Overdrive] time frame and frequency of using it, Kenshin was training on improving and improvising his WIL.
That kid from Sylph race left a deep mark on him, opening a new window for his future development of this particular stat. Kenshin also started to faintly remember seeing a certain china-themed old man who was able to control natural phenomenons with his WIL back when he was in the north and secretly destroying those summoning circles.
Back then, he thought that the old man was using a skill secretly and was boasting about WIL to simply hide it, but now he was not sure anymore. Besides, Joy even told him how the old man who saved them was able to make golden hammers out of pure WIL, which was able to heavily injure the kid from Sylph race in just one move. Kenshin felt motivated and excited, as he diligently trained to achieve such a stage one day.
After the golem was bound to the ground with a little room left for movement, Chiba continued to spam her skills without worrying about anything other than keeping track of her Magic and stamina and mental energy. 60 javelins were the absolute limit of Chiba when she stared her assault, now after taking a rest every 5 minutes and downing on a magic potion, that limit started to increase at a pace of 1 javelin every 2nd rest.
The cycle continued until the golem died, and Chiba increased her Javelin limit to 64. Amidst her spamming, she managed to trigger critical hits every 7th Javelin or so, further increasing her damage value. After the golem vanished, dropping its loot, Kenshin wiped his sweaty brows. He retrieved an MP potion and downed it in one go. Creating these chains was easy, but maintaining them for so long while wrestling against the constant struggle of the golem was hard. Before Chiba could kill it, Kenshin almost lost control of the chains due to his rapidly depleting mental energy.
“Joy, bring the other one. Chiba, take a rest for 10 minutes.” Kenshin ordered as Chiba nodded, drinking a bottle of low-grade MP potion, given to her by Kenshin. She had a backpack, a small one, which was filled to the brim with MP potions. It was given to her by Kenshin before they entered the dungeon. Not only this bag stores her MP potions, it also helps to track her growth more tangibly.
How?
Well, when they first came to this place, Kenshin gave her this bag with 100 MP potions. When they returned, the bag was empty as she used up all the bottles. Later, this number gradually decreased until yesterday, where she was left with more than 27 bottles. According to Kenshin, who had somehow managed to quantized her total magic reserves, she had a total MP(Kenshin said it should be called mana point) 1000 when she entered the dungeon for the first time.
Now though, that number had increased to 1500 in just 6 days. A very remarkable progress on her part and physical manifestation of her hard work and effort, Kenshin and Joy saved no effort to praise her for this. But the girl in question didn’t felt like that. She felt it was still too soon for her to feel accomplished unless she was at least able to stand together with her friends without them holding back.
“Coming!!” Joy was actually sumo-wrestling with the other golem while using his Strength Overdrive mode. These golems were unilateral, only knowing how to plow through parties with brute strength. Although these elites had an ability added, which was lava spurting, or lava vomiting as commented by Joy, aside from that, they were no different from usual golems.
Suddenly, Joy grabbed hold of the golem’s torso, and leg, then with a rotate of his body, he sent the golem which was twice of his height in the least, towards where Kenshin and Chiab stood.
“Shit! You bastard, gorilla!! Can’t you kite it here like a normal hunter?” Kenshin grounded his teeth in anger, creating a huge flaming hand and plucked the golem from mid-flight. Then he slammed it on the ground and recreated those chains to bind it. As to why he did it instead of simply dodging, that was because Chiba was too stunned to move, and also, he too wanted to show-off after Joy doing so.
Turning towards the stunned girl, Kenshin said: “Chiba, go wild.”
