-Vol 3: Enemies in The dark-
-Their first times!! (3)-
For a princess like her, gathering courage like Akari was very hard. That’s why she always admired her. Her friendship with Akari was a result of such a courageous event. It was on the first day in girls’ dorm, she was assigned to a room together with Akari. That day, she was very nervous and hence couldn’t converse with her. Akari too was minding her business so she didn’t start the conversation.
Then suddenly three senior girls entered their room and started ragging them. That day she was humiliated by those three girls. Then suddenly, Akari who was quietly obeying them; burst forth with anger out of nowhere. Then she proceeded to beat the shit out them, making them see black and blue.
After that, the three seniors ran out of the room while threatening them in the process.
“Are you okay?” that day Akari’s that concern filled question started their friendship. After that, Harumi joined them and together they formed a very beautiful friendship. After she came to know about Akari’s situation, she was very saddened but also admired her quite a lot. But the one she admired the most was Akari’s brother who had sacrificed everything for his sister’s sake.
She always wanted to meet him, and now she got the chance. It was a hidden secret that she hadn’t revealed to anyone, but she had a huge crush on Kenshin. Since it was him who was training them, she was intending to impress him with everything she had.
But she simply lacks the courage. Even with Kenshin’s help and immobilized monster’s condition, she still failed to chant her magic twice.
“Riri, calm down first,” Akari advised. Riri was getting impatient, and that was not something a hunter should be like.
“Okay,” Riri took a deep breath to calm herself down. Again she started chanting for the magic skill.
Riri’s ability was to manipulate the light. She can generate, control and shape any kind of light and use it as her weapon. At first glance, it may look like a weak skill, but in reality, it wasn’t. First and foremost she can harden the light create constructs out of them. If those constructs used as a projectile, she can make them fly at light speed, giving no chance to the enemy to dodge.
By bending light she can easily camouflage in broad day, thereby remaining hidden. She can also manipulate the light to create illusions. All these things are just the basic usages of her skill. Her skill had the potential to become one of the strongest skill in existence.
The light particles gathered in front of her and shaped into a long sword. Due to their practice, she was well acquainted with a sword and knew its shape and mass very well. For her, constructing a sword out of light particles was the easiest.

As the sword completed forming, she flicked her right hand and sent it flying towards the same spot as Akari had targetted to the previous spider.
The sword sailed through the air and landed on its back. It, unlike air scythe, didn’t continue to split the spider in half. Rather, it impaled it to the ground. The spider struggled for some time before slowly dying.
Riri only designed a sword without any special properties. She could have made it explode or have the lights grind into its innards. But she wasn’t that proficient in her skills as of now.
The spider left its last scream and died. Using his WIL, Kenshin threw it to the side.
“Nice. Good job Riri!” Kenshin said but didn’t caress her head like he did to Akari. Because Akari was his sister, but these girls only know him today. How can he be that chummy with them?
“Now it's your turn,” Kenshi said to Harumi before luring in another spider. The same as before, he severed its legs.
After encountering it twice, Harumi was not that scared anymore. She also had confidence that, as long as Kenshin was here, they would face no danger. As such, she concentrated fully on chanting magic.
Out of the three friends, she had the most control over her magic. But unlike her friends, she didn’t have a fancy skill. What she had was the ability to buff any property. For example, while holding a sword, she can buff it by making it extra sharp. Or if running, she can buff her running speed.
In an RPG team, her role would be that of a priest. That’s why she had trained herself to use all kinds of weapons. She could buy skills and learn them, but she was from a middle-class family and didn’t have enough money to buy one.
When Kenshin distributed weapons earlier, she chose the bow and arrow. There were two reasons for that; one she was very proficient in it and second, she was afraid of going near a monster.
Knocking the arrow into the bow, she pulled the strings. A red glow appeared on the tip of the arrow making it sharper and fiercer than any other arrow. Then the whole arrow started glowing red. Only after that, she freed the string.
The arrow flew out of the bow like a bullet leaving the barrel. The speed was so fast that only after images remained. Within a fraction of seconds, it lodged deep into the spider’s head and continued grinding inside. The arrow rotated like a rotor and continued grinding inside the spider’s head.
Making miserable shrieks, the spider lost its life.
“Wow!” even Kenshin was impressed by this. This girl’s skills, compared to her peers was nothing much but using her head, she had found the various unique use of it. It made him remember one thing someone had said to him.
There was no useless skill, only useless people.
This girl, Harumi clearly knew where she lacked and made up for it by using her head. A human’s best weapon is not their skill but their head. It was what made them stand at the top of the food chain.
“Good job Harumi,” Kenshin said with a smile.
These three girls, all three of them were unique and talented. It was no wonder the Hunter’s Academy was nurturing them with their full attention. They were true pillars of the future. Each one of these girls could become a super hunter in future.
‘No, they will become super hunters in future’ Kenshin corrected himself. Now he was even more determined to make their fear go. They have talent and were also hardworking; the only thing stopping them was an experience.
‘Which they are going to gain in these three days. I will make sure of it.’ Kenshin thought with resolve.
