-Conclusion(1)-
Joy and Chiba gathered around him, seeing the flaming goat in the distance which was slamming its head in the wall opposite in confusion, they couldn’t help but crease their brows in confusion. Kenshin smiled at them and said, “It’s the boss of the floor. I have beaten it half to death, Chiba you go and finish it off.”
“EH! Me?” Chiba was not that surprised, for past few days, they were doing it like this. These two boys had been carrying her, trying her to close the gap as much as possible. Even so, the gap between 45 and 102 couldn’t just be filled in a day or two, at least a few months of rigorous grinding was required before that to happen.
“Yes, you. Joy, you go and support. Let me take care of that dude.” After assigning their role, as he was about to walk away, he felt a hand on his shoulders. Without even looking, he knew who it was, so he turned around and looked at the eyes of the man and nodded his head slowly. Joy took a breath and too nodded his head before turning around. He didn’t need words to know what Joy was asking, and he didn’t need words to explain what he did, a nod was good enough.
He knew everything that had to be known from Trisha, this person was no longer useful. He also didn’t have any useful skills, so Kenshin wouldn’t benefit from anything if he keeps him alive. As such, he grabbed the giant of a man, lifting him from the ground with just one hand, he started making his way towards the lower floor. There was a huge lava ocean below, he was going to dump this body there and erase any proof forever.
It's not like any proof will remain in the first place. Once a dungeon was fully cleared, it will take a certain amount of time to reset, making it inaccessible to others. During this reset period, everything; be it living or dead, would be forever cleared, never to be seen again. Hunters who died, if their bodies weren’t retrieved before someone cleared the dungeon, they would just vanish… it was what happened to his parents too. He never even got the chance to give their body a proper burial when he couldn’t find one in the first place.
Dumping the body in the lava pool, he returned to the second floor to find Joy and Chiba was taking a short break. They did quick work out of the dying ram, and Chiba seemed to have level upped too. While they both digested their growth, Kenshin arrived with a frown, “Let’s go back.” And spoke those words.
“Huh! Ah, yes.” Joy understood and agreed instantly, so did Chiba. They just went through an assassination attempt and survived. Thanks to the enemy, not knowing their true strength and sending some mediocre people after them that nothing serious happened. Or else things would have become messy if some super capable person came after their life.
“Guys, look at this…” as they were about to move out, Chiba suddenly called to everyone. When they turned around, they found a shiny golden egg seamlessly floating in midair while emitting bright splendor.
“An egg?” Both Kenshin and Joy said at the same time, marveling the thing before them. An egg as a drop after finishing off a troublesome enemy like that, although Kenshin already reduced it half to death, it was first in both their hunting career.

Chiba tentatively extended her hand to grab the egg, but something happened the moment she held it. Suddenly, the golden egg flashed brilliantly, followed by a terror-ridden CHiab’s screams.
“Kya!!! Help me, Kenshin, Joy… this egg, its sucking something out of me!”
“Eh! Sucking something? Milk?” Joy’s counter was that, and Kenshin sent him flying with a kick, “Don’t spout nonsense in front of her. Now come here and help if possible, or go stand in the corner.”
Kenshin ran near Chiba, opening her status, he found her Mp gradually decreasing. Leaving that aside, there was no change in any other stats. Giving her an MP potion bottle, “Drink this, that thing was sucking your MP like no tomorrow.” Chiba didn’t waster time, as she downed the MP potion. The MP bar that she couldn’t see once again filled to its maximum and continued to drop as it got sucked by the egg.
The process continued for what felt like an eternity for Chiba before it stopped. She kept sucking on the MP potion bottles like some cooldrinks on a hot summer day every 20 seconds, refilling her bar before it got sucked dry by the egg once again. After that, the egg stopped glowing as its golden hue started to change into the deep blue, the same color of the sea. It slowly landed on the outstretched hands of Chiba, looking like just a normal blue rock.
“What is this?”
“That’s…” Kenshin opened his system to scan the egg.
[Mystery Egg]
* An egg of a mysterious creature that would grant a battle pet.
* Currently bound to Chiba.
“That’s an egg that would give you a battle pet… it's currently bound to you… aren’t you too lucky? Even so, it's probably first in the whole world, I think.” Kenshin said, eyeing the egg with curiosity. At the same time he thoughts laid somewhere else, ‘Is she going to be like that Lyda? An animal summoner? I wonder…’
“Wow! A pet! I wonder what will come out? It would be best if a dragon comes out… that way we will show off to the world. Haha!” Joy had no sense of priority and instead came up with something absurd as a dragon pet, getting on Kenshin’s nerves.
“Yeah, if its really a dragon, I am going to make it nibble on your hairs… wait! You don’t have any in the first place. Haha!”
“Kenshin, you bastard, how dare you to make fun of me? And I am not bald, its skinhead fashion.”
“Guys! Let’s not fight and return. I am way too tired and want to take a few days rest.” Chiba cradled the egg carefully and tenderly as if it was her how laid it and led the way back. On the way back, they took their time to collect every last drop from Kemshin’s rampage.
Later that day, they booked a Metro ticket and returned to Mito. They deserved a much-needed break… was what Kenshin said them, but in reality, he wanted to have a one on one talk with Yuki. He could no longer push this issue back, not when both his enemies were the same person. He also needed to talk with that woman, even though he didn’t want to… he was still feeling awkward to face her.
‘I hope she doesn’t force me this time again.’ Thinking like this, they arrived at his rented apartment and greeted by the twin-tailed small girl, his zombie summons, Ena. Although currently, he couldn’t use those skills, he had already made them before the skill vanished, so they were still there with him.
This ability to summon intelligent zombies came as a huge surprise to Joy and Chiba, but they didn’t make a huge issue out of it and silently accepted Kenshin as a man of many talents. Besides, the zombies he summoned were very socializing and good to them, leaving them with no room to hate them or their creator. They also didn’t harp on why Kenshin didn’t mention this before, they already knew the answer.
That night, Joy and Kenshin bought a basketful of liquor and drunk themselves to oblivion and passed out on the leaving room floor. Chiba took shelter in Mrs. Yui’s house, too disgusted by Kenshin and Joy’s drunken stupor conversation that spiraled towards the gutter, making the poor girl blush in embarrassment.
