-Vol 4: To The North Pole!-
-Kenshin’s Plan-
Kenshin took Vera for a ride before exiting the ground with another plop sound. This time they were no longer inside the cave but a few distances away from the wall via which they entered this area. They had returned to the main gate in just a few minutes. During this time, Kenshin had invested two skill points in upgrading the skill Burrow so that his speed could increase. But it also had a side effect, his AoE also increased. Now anyone within a 5-meter radius of him could be affected by the skill.
“You can open your eyes.” Kenshin gently spoke. He could hardly hold his laugh seeing Vera’s reaction. At this time, who would believe that she was a beyond level 100 powerhouse, ready to throw away her life for others and had fought valiantly against an opponent many times stronger than her?
Hearing Kenshin’s gentle tone, she slowly opened her beautiful eyes and inspected her surroundings. Then her eyes widened like successes when she recognized the place they were in. It was indeed the gate through where they entered this place. But this place and the cave they were just before, the time it would take to travel by car was about 19 hours. How could they travel here in a matter of minutes?
“Kenshin, this…!” she was at a loss for words. It was indeed shocking for her, travelling more than 200 km in just matter of minutes! Even the most advanced movement type skill user would be hardpressed to achieve such a feat, especially while carrying someone else with them. Now she understood why Kenshin was so reluctant to tell her about this, it was simply a skill made for an emergency escape. It's like a trump card at his disposal. Nobody reveals their trump card to other, no matter how intimate they are.
“Kenshin! I promise that unless I die and someone extracts it from my corpse, this secret would never be exposed to others.” Again Vera solemnly vowed in front of Kenshin. She now understood how Kenshin saved her. It was indeed a skill made for such situations. She was also incredibly lucky that Kenshin had such an ability at his disposal. Suddenly she felt that taking this Kenshin along with her was one of the best decisions she made this time.
“Promising once is already enough, you know!” Kenshin was really exasperated at her attitude. Although he didn’t want others to know about this skill, it was also not a big deal if someone figures it out. At most, it would act as the best cover for his resurrection ability in case he needed. It also worked as the best mode of transportation for him, and after its upgrade in AoE size, he could also use it as offence or at least offset an enemy’s balance.
“Leader, I want to say something to you. It's very important.” Now Kenshin decided to speak about his plans. He couldn’t delay it anymore, the day’s about to end and after a few more hours, his six-day time limit will be reduced to five days. He must start his plans as soon as possible. After listening to Core about the horror of those DemiGod level creatures, he even more motivated to stop its descend to this world.

Lives of many are at stake here.
Seeing Kenshin was very serious Vera gave her full attention towards him.
“Before I escape, I listened to some bits and pieces about some kind of plan. In seven different locations, these cloaked guys were hiding or probably protecting something. Besides at this point, I am half sure that this tragedy in the north was caused by them. You have already experienced their strength and know how dangerous they are, I think it would best for us if you inform this matter to the higher-ups. I don’t know why but I feel like these guys are onto something here.” Kenshin spoke seriously and fabricated some lies alongside truth to make his point clear to Vera.
Hearing Kenshin’s words, Vera also nodded in acceptance. Then she furrowed her brows and spoke to Kenshin, “That woman, she wasn’t a simple character. In fact, she wasn’t even a human, you know that?”
“Eh! Really? Are there others besides humans with such advanced intelligence?” Kenshin continued pretending and acted surprised at her words. He already knew if she was a human or not after he burned half of her cloak.
“Of course. There are many species in this world who are as intelligent if not more than humans. It's just that they were a minority and tends to live inside a dungeon or some hidden place. Précisely this woman belonged to one of such groups that are killed off by humans many years ago. I think she was up for some revenge here and joined that lunatic group that you are talking about.” Vera then started to speak about that tale she heard from her seniors about that snake clan. At this point, she completely believed Kenshin’s story.
“Okay, then I am going. You should see a doctor about those internal wounds and please hasten the process as soon as possible about calling the higher ups. I feel that we don’t have much time at our hands.” After saying so, Kenshin started to submerge into the ground.
“Wait! Kenshin, where are you going? Are you not coming with me?” seeing that Kenshin was returning to ground Vera became worried and felt a sense of loss in her heart and asked out impulsively. After realizing it, she tried to look dignified, hiding her concern for him as much as possible.
“I will use my ability to do a reconnaissance around the area and perfectly pinpoint those people’s exact locations. Not only save us lot of time but also a lot of effort on those higher up’s part.”
“Kenshin don’t be mad. Those people aren't ordinary and are very strong. You could be instakill by them, don’t take this risk. Those higher-ups would surely be sent some people to track their locations, they can do that job perfectly, there was no need for you risk your life needlessly!” in her worried state she spoke some words that she would have never spoken usually.
When a person had someone in their heart, they would never want anything to happen to them, even it means being cowardly. Before today, Vera wouldn’t have spoken these words to anyone and would have probably looked down on people who spoke them. She already had Kenshin in her heart, be it in a romantic sense or out of gratitude was yet to be seen. But she couldn’t tolerate it if something happens to him.
“Leader! This is something I must do no matter what. It is I who discovered this vital information, it wouldn’t feel good to me if I hand over the responsibility to others. And don’t worry, I am an expert at running away. The moment I face danger, I would be the first one to run away. Haha, take care Leader and see you in a few days.” Kenshin laughed as he spoke some bulls*it and before Vera could respond, he had already burrowed into the ground like a fish in water.
“You lier! If you run at the first sense of danger, I wouldn’t be alive today.” Although she sounded angry, a small blush, as well as a smile couldn't be hidden from her face. At this point, although she wasn’t sure what her feelings for him, but she was sure that it’s a bit more than friendly affection.
