-Vol 5: A New Life-
-Leena Cooper-
“Ah! Yuki! Thank god you are there. please come outside, I am standing near the third floor’s office door.” Kenshin was very happy listening to Yuki’s voice. He also took a breath of relief that at least she was okay now. He was very afraid that she was pursued by some unknown people even though that man had promised to let her go free. You should never underestimate those criminals and kidnappers after all. Believing them would also be a foolish thing to do.
Thankfully Yuki was alright, he took a deep breath of relief. All his accumulated stress just left his body like air from a deflated balloon. Since Yuki was okay, there was no need for him to worry anymore.
[Kenshin, I am coming. Just stay there] Yuki hurriedly said before running out of the room she was in before. It was a high-class office with an oak table and a chair behind it. To the right often tables were a sofa set and a tea table. Right now, Yuki was sitting on that sofa. On the other side of the room, a lady was sitting on the chair doing some pater work. This lady was very beautiful with her faint green hair and azure eyes she looked just like an enticing sprite. Her big eyes were pure, and her thin eyebrows were slanted. Her boobs were also not small, they can rival Mrs Yuki’s. This lady was none other than the so-called Fukushima’s DCB’s director. She was also Yuki’s friend.
When Yuki appeared half an hour ago, looking at her distraught face at that time, this beautiful director was very worried. After listening to everything, she couldn’t help but frown. The matter of Yuki getting kidnapped wasn’t a small one, what’s more, she was abducted right under the noses of government. If this matter gets exposed, it will become a huge scandal as Yuki’s position wasn’t a small one. Some people might use this chance to defame the DCB in the public’s view. After all, if these people couldn’t even save themselves, how would they protect the public?
Just now, they were discussing this matter. She was also very curious about that person whom Yuki praised so much. Although she didn’t clarify their relationship, the director was sure that they were not just mere friends like how Yuki claimed. Now when her PA called and said that Muto Kenshin was on the line, Yuki jumped to the phone and accepted the call, after a few words, she ran out of the room. This weird action of her had solidified the beautiful director’s suspicion about Yuki’s relation to that boy even more. Although she was curious, she didn’t chase after them, she knew Yuki would bring him to her in a few minutes.
But before that…she pressed the phone’s speed dial number and called her assistant.
[Yes madam!]
“Bring me all the relevant details about this Muto Kenshin.”
[Okay. Give me a few minutes]

Like a school girl who separated from her boyfriend in a festival, Yuki behaved like that when she saw Kenshin. Seeing that he wasn’t even injured, she was even more relieved. She was so happy that she couldn’t control herself and hugged Kenshin while shading a few drops out of sere relief. Although she knew Kenshin was strong, the opponents weren’t also weak either. Besides, the last time she checked, he was only level 29. Even with all the drams in that mission to the north, his level at most should have increased by ten.
That’s still under level 50. She knew that if that old man planned to kidnap her, he wouldn’t have brought a weak hunter. At the very least it should be a level 50 hunter. A level 39 vs level 50! How couldn’t be she worried? Until now, she was convincing the director to sent some powerful hunters to help Kenshin. But it’s the night time; most of the formidable hunters were either sleeping in their homes or inside some dungeon. Inviting someone would actually take some time.
“Thank god! You are alright. They didn’t do anything to you right?” Yuki was very worried. She knew the cruelty of those people. They didn’t leave their enemy unscathed even when the enemy was stronger than them. She was afraid that those people had left some long-lasting damage on him.
“Don’t worry. They couldn’t do anything to me. Besides, that man was way weaker than me, so I won ultimately. Look…I am perfectly fine.” Kenshin flexed his muscles while saying so in an attempt to quell her worries.
“Haha! You are so funny…but its good that nothing happened to you. Or else I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself.” Yuki showed a sad face while tracing her soft fingers on Kenshin’s jawline. Her eyes were misty, seemingly thinking of something.
“Sigh. Don’t worry. I am no longer that weak Kenshin. I am now a strong hunter who could even defeat a level 100 monster. You have to believe me.”
“What! Really? You can even kill a level 100 monster? Aren’t you exaggerating? Didn’t that mean you have already reached level 100?” Yuki was so surprised that she almost shouted loudly. Declaring a hunter’s level was the biggest taboo. Most of the time, the division which managed the measurement a hunter’s level on a regular basis had to swear on their lives to never divulge this secret. And hunters also didn’t show their cards to other hunters or people so casually. The maximum they do is to show the ID card issued by the government if they were working for DCB.
Most of the time, that card works as a universal ID. Hunters also didn’t need to apply for a visa if they had this card. The DCB would manage everything for them. Kenshin’s real hunter’s license was inside his inventory as he rarely brings it outside.
“Well, I can't say that I have reached level 100 yet as I lacked the magical concentration needed for a level 100. But if I use my skill by my experience, slaying a level 100 isn't a problem for the current me.” Kenshin said honestly. Besides what’s the need to hide these matters to her?
“So it's like that! But aren’t you only level 29 when you left here?”
“I was on that level months ago. I have yet to recheck my level till now. I haven’t even updated my hunter's license in months. I have decided to do that after reaching level 100.”
“Hmmmm!! Okay. Now come inside, I will have you meet someone. She is a close friend of mine. We met during my internship all those years ago.”
“Heh! Is it the director of this DCB?”
“How did you know?” Yuki asked surprised as she was yet to announce her status to him.
“Just guessed.” Kenshin smiled but didn’t elaborate any further. He didn’t just simply guessed, he deduced this when Yuki received his call. If that person weren’t someone she was familiar with, Yuki would never take liberties with other's matters. Moreover, Suguro also hinted this when he called him for the director’s number.
Now seeing her enthusiasm, he was sure that this friend she was talking about must be the director of this branch, Leena Cooper.
