-Vol 4: To The North Pole!-
-Gone Mad!-
Once a skill reaches class A or above, it was no longer works as an average skill. Its principle and working, everything changes according to the skill’s requirements.
Kenshin’s Exploding Domain was also the same. It was a grade A skill. That’s why the way it works had a huge difference to the Explosive Ring skill it was evolved from. While Explosion ring used magic as a medium to explode, Exploding Domain changed the very molecular structure of the targeted object inside the domain, making their property same as explosives.
But the change in property was limited to the domain only. Even if that thing extended beyond the domain, it would still have no effect on it. After leveling it up a few times, he gained a new ability of that skill. It was Remote Detonation. It allowed him to use his domain even while not inside it. At present his maximum distance was up to one kilometer.
While running away, he used his domain precisely aiming to the colossal snake’s head. When he was sure that the domain had perfectly covered its head, he targetted the poison fog in the air as his detonation target. For one, the poison fog was abundant in the air. Secondly, this poison fog had a direct relationship with the snake’s head.
No matter how strong a monster gets, unless it was an undead, their weak point lied on their head and spines. But in the end, Kenshin didn’t expect that his attack would kill that snake. What’s more, he also gained a massive amount of EXP out of it.
But he didn’t only gain EXP, he also gained many more things.

As he was jumping down, a group of notifications popped up time and again. But he didn’t mind it, his only concentration was on how to land perfectly. He had already retracted the jetpack behind his back and was now gliding across the fifth floor. Vera was still out of it. She had already used her stamina and WIL to their limit, and on top of it, she was heavily beaten by that woman. She had already sporting some internal injuries, unless she was treated immediately, it might affect her future, although she won’t die of it.
Kenshin was also anxious about that woman. Since he killed her summon, it was a given that the enmity between them was now incorrigible. Kenshin would have preferred to kill her to avoid any future implications, but he was not strong enough to accomplish the task. But he still made a mental note to watch out for her.

While following his map, Kenshin headed towards a special location in the entire structure. It was a tunnel a that directly connected to a hidden path, leading out of this location. He had noticed this path from the beginning but never mentioned it to her to avoid suspicion. But now he was totally intended to use it, even if she has to suspect him then so be it.

While Kenshin was busy running away, on the surface the situation was a bit awkward. Lyda couldn’t believe what just happened. As the blood continued to leak from the corner of her mouth, she stared at the minced remains of the Nether snake that she had just summoned.
This snake was one of her contracted beasts. The job summoner is a special job as not anyone can obtain it. Besides the world of Kenshin didn’t have the concept of a job yet. Earth only got acquainted with magic just a century ago, it was a very short time for something like a Job to emerge.
As for Lyda, the one from whom she got this job from, wasn’t from Earth.
The summoners make contact with a beast which they summon at a later time to fight for them whenever they desired. This contract bounds their souls together, as such when a summon dies, there was an adverse effect to the summoner. The backlash of it would wound the very soul of the summoner. Lyda was suffering from this backlash right now.
Since the snake was very strong, the backlash was also higher. She was heavily weakened right now. Forget about Kenshin, even Akari could kill her now.
Kenshin had missed a very good chance.
“This! How could this happen? How?” Lyda seemed to have gone insane as she stared emptily towards the already dead snake’s remains. This snake, although not her strongest summon, still it was something she carefully tended. To lose one of her prized possessions, it was a heavy blow to her.
Slowly the look of despair vanished, replaced by anger. Unadulterated anger. Her previously gorgeous face slowly morphed to that of an ugly snake’s head. In anger, she lost control of her shapeshifting ability, allowing her real face to come out.
With the appearance white shining scales on her face, her hair also increased in length and her tongue split in the middle, assuming the shape of a snake. Her dainty hands morphed into clawed hands with shining scales all over it.
“Kill! Brat! I will find you and kill you! I will kill everyone dear to you an feed on their flesh, then drink their blood. It was a promise from this snake princess Lyda to you. Just wait!!” the snake lady looked with red eyes towards the hole where Kenshin jumped earlier while shouted loudly, hoping the boy could listen to her.
Then she looked at the cowering ape in the side, her anger level rose to another level when she saw its pitiful appearance.
“Wreck that hole, squash that damn human into a paste. Just break everything in that damn place.” She commanded the ape. By now, she had already forgotten about her mission to protect that place. Now she was set on destroying the very place she was ordered to protect.
The ape nodded its head like a woodpecker, then going near the hole, he clenched its massive fist and rained punches one after another. Despite its enormous body, its speed was very astonishing. Its hands became a blur as it started punching the hole.
Slowly the hole expanded from the effect of the constant punches, and earthquakes generated as an aftereffect.
During this time, Kenshin was on the sixth floor when he suddenly felt the approaching fists and destroying everything in its path.
“Fuck!!” he cursed as he was yet to reach the location.
As the metallic floors broke apart due to punches of the monkey, Kenshin lost his footing and fell down. But due to his higher AGI, he was able to stabilize himself. He was also careful to not hurt Vera. The whole place had become vulnerable and could give in any moment from the ape’s rampaging.
“That woman’s gone mad!” he cursed again but still tried his hardest to avoid as many debris as possible. Those few he couldn’t avoid, he would take it on with his fleshy body alone while protecting Vera at the same time.
Suddenly a glowing red room caught his eye. Trying to avoid the tragedy, he jumped towards the glowing red room, intending to take cover.
At that time, Kenshin would have never thought this decision of his would benefit him in such a way that even the gods themselves would be envious.
