46. Round 2

-The Dungeon Break(4.5)-

- Round 2-

The upgrade after forming the contract had given him a confidence that was absent the previous time he faced Roxe. This time he was sure he wouldn’t be only dodging, he had decided to go on aggressive. The wicked looking scythe held his hands added few points to his heroic aura.

Roxe slowly stood up and didn’t neglect Kenshin like earlier. It knew that Kenshin had formed a contract with the original dungeon core of this dungeon. It was clear about what happens when one contracts a dungeon core. It had also felt a fundamental change in its opponent.

Suddenly it vanished from its spot, leaving a red streak behind. With his enhanced reaction times, Kenshin could easily follow the path of Roxe. Unhesitatingly, he moved his scythe and arced it towards his right.

Ting!

A loud metallic sound was heard, as the metal hit metal. His scythe directly slashed the torso of Roxe, who was unable to block or dodge it in time. But it didn’t cause it any damage. By now, his title bonus had already vanished. Kenshin was in no hurry. He will take his time to kill this fellow, at the same time get used to his new upgrades.

Roxe came to a screeching halt. It hadn’t expected to get attacked while on the verge of ambushing him. It had also didn’t expect to be tracked down even when using a speed related skill. Suddenly it saw a foot approaching, now not underestimating the opponent any long, it crossed its arms to brace for the impact. The kick landed heavily on its armored hands, sending it a few meters back. A deep line had formed on the floor from its sliding feet.

Suddenly Kenshin vanished before it can prepare, he appeared behind it with his scythe ready for a downward arc. Roxe used every ounce of its strength to roll back, avoiding the strike aimed toward’s its neck gap.

Kenshin had precisely targetted that weak spot of its armor. Suddenly fire licked the edges of the bladed part of scythe before a crescent arc formed. Kenshin sent it flying towards Roxe, who was still in the middle of stabilizing itself.

The concentrated flame constructs impacted heavily on Roxe’s torso, sending it flying.

Some measly damage point floated above it.

“That’s one annoying armor” Kenshin muttered looking at red armor. But he had already found several weak points of it. Its joints, it was where the defense was very low, almost non-existent. With his upgraded perception, dealing precise damages was of no problem at all.

Vanishing from his spot again, he reappeared behind it and pointed his scythe’s tip to its knee joint. Seeing this, Roxe shifted his leg as much as possible to avoid it hitting its weak spot in armor.

Ting!

Metal hit metal, producing a screeching noise. Kenshin had missed his target. This Roxe’s reaction time was no less than his. Even so, Kenshin continued his onslaught, using Highspeed Movements to its maximum.

Roxe could only dodge or block, it no longer had the initiative to attack. Suddenly a gap created in Kenshin’s attack patterns. Using it, Roxe jumped back a few times, increasing the distance between them.

It lifted its right hand, as a red glow enveloped it. Then a slit opened in the thin air behind it producing a ripping sound similar to paper ripping, from within came out hoards of zombies and skeletons. These zombies and skeletons came out in hoards, seemingly no end to their numbers.

They immediately surrounded Kenshin from all sides.

“Just in time!”Kenshin couldn’t help but smile. His title bonus had already expired, with this much undead types, he would be able to regain the bonus.

“You think you are only one who can summon minions?” snorting in contempt, Kenshin used his skill Summon Minions. With a flash of green light, two zombies appeared behind him. Compared to earlier, they look stronger and smarter. Their eyes were emitting an intelligent light.

As Kenshin stats increased above hundred, the zombies he summoned were all having stats more than 50 points. With INT and WIS more than 40, these zombies had intelligence that was comparable to humans.

The only thing they lacked was their ability to speak. Kenshin handed the Skeleton Knight’s sword to one zombie and the Zombie Guardian’s shield to the other. These two zombies’ individual stat was now comparable to Kenshin’s before his upgrade. With the named equipment, their fighting prowess multiplied by a fold or two.

“Slaughter them!” with just a word from him; the two zombies began slaughtering all the zombies and skeletons surrounding Kenshin.

If Roxe’s face wasn’t hidden behind the helmet, then Kenshin could have seen how much surprised and puzzled it was right now. That’s because the skill Kenshin had used wasn’t something a human can use. In fact, this skill couldn’t be obtained or gained by humans because this skill solely belongs to a specter type boss monster. Unless you are an undead type, you won’t be able to use this skill.

What’s more, the main reason a living being couldn’t use this skill was that it uses dead energy not magic. Unless you are dead, you can’t use dead energy.

This human was a mystery.

This was the latest impression of Roxe. Till now, he had never seen a living being using a specter type skill. Even those Demon Worshipers couldn’t do it, and they dabble with death the whole day.

Now Roxe felt conflicted. It began thinking if it should retreat or fight with everything it had. It had come here on the orders of an important being to kill the dungeon core of this place. Till now, everything was going smoothly until this human appeared.

With his measly strength, he somehow slaughtered the two guardians it had chosen and approached the original core of this dungeon. And somehow, even though it was sealed, this human was able to contact him.

Again today, when this human had shown up in the dungeon, it had decided to kill him once and for all to avoid any future problem. But, not only it was unable to do so, the human also went on and formed a contract with the original core.

The last thing it wanted to happen had happened.

Now the human had returned after becoming more powerful than before. From what Roxe gathered, this human had become more powerful than even itself. That’s why it was conflicted, it doesn’t want to die here at this low-level dungeon. But if it persists and continues to fight then there was no doubt that it will die.

But it couldn’t also afford to disregard him.

In the end, after contemplating for some time, it had decided to fight till the end. If it dies then so be it, it will reform eventually. But if it falls into his hands, even reform would no longer be possible.
