-Vol 4: To The North Pole!-
-A Weird new Skill!-
The six hunters from Gilgamesh Guild had never expected that there would be someone else here except them. The North was vast, the probability of someone going through the same way as them was pretty low. But nonetheless, it happened, and there was someone else here, and judging from his earlier statement, he had heard everything about their conversation.
“Who are you?” The lady hunter asked with a frown while maintaining enough caution. None of the hunters assigned to this mission they were all undertaking was weakling after all. Pick any random hunter, and his level wouldn’t be lower than 50. Although the measuring instrument used by the current humanity to measure one’s level wasn’t hundred percent accurate, and couldn’t measure one's true combat capability, it could still give the general idea of his/her ability.
Most of the time the measuring instrument would be 80 to 90% accurate about the power levels.
As a result, it would be foolishness on their part to underestimate this new arrival. At least they won't show their true colours until they had a perfect estimation of his powers. And there was a way to do that, that is to bombard this newest arrival with their WILL. If he was unscathed after that, then he was powerful than them. If not then he would also be killed by them today.
As the atmosphere was a little foggy, all they could see was a man standing with his hands inside his long coat’s pocket while the hood of the jacket covering his face. It gave a mysterious vibe to him, making them even more cautious.
“Who am I? Isn’t it obvious? Since I came to their rescue, that means I am a human, right?” he spoke in a very low and deep voice which was muffled due to the presence of the coat’s furred collar.
“Huh?” at first nobody understood his meaning until realization dawned on them. With that one sentence, Kenshin was mocking them as lower than humans, a beast. He was calling them a beast for what they were doing.
“How dare you bastard!” one of the six members roared as he prepared to go there and fight him to death.
“Back down Ali, don’t be rash yet.” Another one, apparently the leader spoke while preventing the one named Ali to go forth. He was cautious against Kenshin, after all, an unknown opponent was the most terrifying. Unless he had the accurate gauze of his power, he wouldn't make that mistake.
“Captain, why did you stop me? I was about to chop that guy into pieces!” Ali roared in anger and dissatisfaction after being stopped by his captain.
“Shut up Ali! How many times I have told you to not act rashly before knowing your enemy?” the captain’s voice sounded calm, but his words made the impulsive Ali into a docile cat. It was the testament to his authority in his team.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
“Yes! Sorry captain.” After apologizing, Ali threw one last, hatred filled, glance towards Kenshin before remaining silent.
“Excuse me, but you are interfering with the internal matters of Gilgamesh Guild and DCB, if you don't belong to either, then you should leave the place, or be prepared to face the consequences.” The guy who was called captain Ali said with a calm tone, but the threat was clearly visible in it.
“Hoho! Really now? And what consequences? You six will gang up on me?” the six guys bristled in anger when Kenshin's mocking voice reached their ears.
The guy called Captain narrowed his eyes before speaking, “Maybe! Or maybe I alone was enough! Who knows?”
“Hmm! Indeed, who knows, unless you try, that is. So, are you going to try it?” Kenshin’s voice was as calm as before. Its as if the guy’s threat had no effect on him which was actually the truth of the matter.
But Kenshin didn’t get a reply. Instead, he felt a sharp tingling sensation on his body and mind. The feeling was very light, akin to a mosquito bite, but Kenshin instantly recognizes the cause. These guys, they are attacking through WIL, that tingling sensation was the combined might of six hunter’s awakened WIL. If it were the Kenshin of before who hadn't formed his Intent, he would have suffered some heavy impact but, right now their attacks were nothing but mosquito bites to him.
On the other hand, the six guys started to sweat. Unless they form an Intent, using WIL as a direct form of attack was a very taxing process, especially to one’s psyche. Following their leader's signal, they had all concentrated their WIL into Kenshin, but contrary to what they had expected, he didn’t show any outward reaction. Although it was still within their plan, the fact was really shocking.
From this incident, they deduced that Kenshin’s WIL was more powerful than their combined WIL. Although it couldn’t be used to gauge one’s true fighting potential, the increase of WIL was still linked with one’s level.
“You guys are really rude, attacking me out of nowhere! Don’t you guys no civility? Sigh* What can I expect from animals anyway! Since you attacked me first, let me return the favour.” Kenshin complained but still with his calm as river tone.
“Shit! Run!” it was at this time that captain guy realized there was something wrong, but it was already too late. Kenshin would never allow them to run away.
Suddenly the atmosphere changed around them as the air started to vibrate. Ripples after ripples created in the air as if the very space itself was affected. At the same time, the six guys felt like a mountain was weighing on them. They felt like the gravity had increased hundredfold suddenly. Even taking a step had become difficult for them. Soon they couldn’t take it anymore and kneeled down in the snow as their body started to perspire uncontrollably.
Even so, the pressure didn’t lessen, on the contrary, it increased again.
While this was happening, Kenshin suddenly received a notification.
[Ding* You have ingeniously combined a skill with your WIL.]
[WIL +100]
[Ding*You have created a new skill by combining WIL with your skill Death Stare]
[Skill Death Stare has Evolved and became King’s Presence]
[King’s Presence Lv0][11000 EXP to next level up]
* The presence of King demands respect and obedience. When a King is present, others have to bow down to show their respect, if not, their heads would roll. Nobody can disrespect a King and get away with it.
* Paralyzes an enemy whose WIL is lower than the wielder. Stuns an enemy for a second whose WIL is higher than the wielder up to 100 points. Ineffective to those who have a higher will than that.
* Consumes 2 WIL per min
