-Vol 5: A New Life-
-Going all out-
When Kenshin stabilized himself, he couldn’t stop himself from kneeling on the floor from the pain originating from his stomach. That goldenrod was not only given him some blunt trauma, it also gave him the weird sense of burning damage without any wound. Coughing a few times, he took some time to stabilize himself. Thankfully Lily didn’t attack during that time. Kenshin concluded that she didn’t wish to kill him, only force him enough to reveal some sort of his hidden power. But as far as he was concerned, except that ??? beside his race, there was nothing hidden on him. With his heightened wisdom and intelligence, he could deduce her true motive but couldn’t get what she actually wants to see from him.
‘Wait! Didn’t she ask to see my Intent? Is this all just to see my Intent?’ Kenshin didn’t dare to believe it. Who would go such length just force someone to see their Intent? At that time he also realized that all this problem was also because of his refusal in the first place. But he also had no obligation to do so, especially when she was so secretive about this. Kenshin felt something wrong with this whole situation. Then he had a resolute look on his face as he decided something in his heart. His Passive regeneration also kicked in, healing all the damage he received within seconds. As for the broken armor, it would slowly regenerate itself after he feeds it with some monster or human blood.
Grasping the sword with his two hands, he took a stance and used his Intent. A red colored aura flooded from his hands and covered the sword in a matter of seconds. In the dark of the night, the red color of the sword looked extremely deadly. The appearance of the red aura excited Lily as if waiting for this appear all this while, a joyful look formed on her face. Initially what Kenshin lacked was a form of strength that could combat against her weird whips. He suspected that those whips were actually her Intent given form, if so, then it would also explain why he couldn’t stop them physically. He hoped that it was really the case, then he could finally counter her attacks.
Taking a step forward, he vanished and appeared behind her with his sword aiming for her neck in a stab posture. Lily hadn’t put down her barrier yet when the sword clashed against the barrier again, red-colored lightning sparks emerged from them and flew everywhere. Kenshin finally understood what those golden threads are, they really are her Intent given physical form.
There was no unit to measure one’s Intent because it was something that emerges from one’s soul or consciousness. Science explained it as a human’s brain’s manifestation or the power of belief. The stronger one’s belief on some matter, the stronger their Intent would be. But when it comes to the manifestation of their Intent in the physical world, all these theories were instantly lost their meaning. All comes down to their experience.
The way a person tempered himself, the surrounding they grew up in as well as their inner desires, everything will boil down and help a hunter to form their Intent manifestation. Some people had a sword as their Intent manifestation, it not only gave them heightened killing intent, it also helped them in increasing their attack power as well as using swords more fluidly. Some even directly use their manifestations in battle, like how this Lily was doing.

After struggling for quite a while, the red glow on the sword finally started to dim. With a roar, Kenshin redoubled the aura and pushed forward. He was seemingly unaware of the rapidly depleting WIL stat as he was too engrossed in the battle. Even so, he didn’t get the upper hand, on the contrary, he suffered another damage when she used a rod strike to his stomach again. Thankfully he had used some of the red aurae to block her attack, sparing his blood armor from any more damages.
“Interesting! An Intent that could both attack and defend…” Lily muttered under her breath which went unnoticed by Kenshin. He just focussed on fighting.
After seeing that his attack was actually causing no damage, Kenshin cooled down his head and tried to change his tactics. If aggressive attacks couldn’t do much damage, then he would change it to a round out way of attacking. Clutching his sword tightly, he used his Destructive Energy manipulation to conjure a flame of pure destructive energy and enveloped the sword. After that he coated the purple flame in a red aura, thereby increasing it might even further. He had already used this move once hence knew that it actually increased his attack power.
With a low hiss, he thrust his sword at her again. The golden barrier appeared once again and stopped his attack midway, but clearly, he wasn’t that miserable like last time. For this time, he could clearly feel the barrier sustain damage under his attack. Lily also frowned, it was the first time since their fight started that she showed a facial expression change. Kenshin seemed to force himself into her barrier and her barrier even giving in. Even while using her skill, she could still not able to stop Kenshin’s attack. She was very clear about her skills, under such pressure she knew her barrier could at most hold onto another five seconds.
She made her move again, using her strings she made another rod and send it smashing towards Kenshin. After suffering twice, Kenshin was already on guard against any of her attacks. This time he was ready when the rod was just about to be five meters away from him, suddenly his body was enveloped in a transparent bubble, which only he can see. Just when the rod was about to touch his cloth, a huge rebounding force generated out of nowhere, pushing off the rod backward twice the speed it came from.
Lily who hadn’t anticipated such a move was ill-prepared when the massive rebounding force shattered her Intent and send her skidding back a few steps back. Due to the destruction of Intent manifestation, she also felt a huge headache, but suppressed easily, not letting Kenshin to see it. Her brows furrowed as she thought hard about what just happened, one moment, the rod was about to smash him, and the next moment it was rebounded off his body.
Kenshin also got this idea just now. He believed that if his Opposites could reverse the flow of gravity, why can’t it reverse the flow of Kinetic energy? Or any form of energy for that matter. He dared to take the challenge, and the result was a huge success, he also gained some insights on his Opposites skill. He felt that this skill could be counted as a pseudo-divine skill. Actually, when a skill receives an Absolute status, it was then called a divine skill. Like his Starfall domain, it can cause anyone absolute damage of 1000 regardless of their level or barrier or defense. It was unblockable.
Only a divine skill could block another divine skill.
Opposites couldn’t reverse everything, it still far away from gaining the Absolute status, hence a pseudo-divine skill. Kenshin had a hunch that if one day his Opposites could gain a divine status, he could even reverse the flow of time and bring someone back from dead. This thought made him both excited as well as cause him some fear. After all this Opposites skill was turning out to be quite the skill the more, he uses it.
