320. Reversal(3)

-Vol 5: A New Life-

-Reversal(3)-

The instant she saw a bunch of monsters that shouldn’t belong to this current dungeon appears before her, she immediately connected the dots. In the first place, she joined that group of lunatics with a high-end goal was to take revenge from a certain group of humans. Her hatred for them runs deeper than the ocean. But, even before they could start the first step of the plan, they failed.

Unexpectedly, a member of the group died without them, realizing how. Naturally, the mission for which he was sent to also failed. Thus, they had to hasten some of their plans. The result, they failed miserably. Not only that, she had to run with her tail tucked between her tails from two insanely powerful people’s pursuit. Until now, she was in hiding, not daring to expose her face in fear of retaliation from those insane hunters. Not only that, the group which she had joined earlier was being cleared out by a mysterious presence. She felt that if she exposes herself, he couldn’t even live past a few hours.

She, again, blamed this on Kenshin.

This time her arrival in Japan was for two different reasons. One, it was a plan hatched by the mysterious group that she had joined recently, second, she wanted to find Kenshin and take her revenge. Coincidentally, she came across her target the moment she stepped foot in the country.

But now, she really found all her, and her earlier groups’ bad luck had originated from this very man. It's not that she had some feeling about them, as comrades or anything, in fact, she even hated a few and was in bad terms with a few. But, she had put her hopes for revenge in that group. She had seen other worlds and knew how to advance they were in terms of skill usage and this whole dungeon business. Hell, the place she grew up in even had a class system, that would give hunters bonus abilities every few levels.

How can people from such worlds be defeated by this backward world’s hunters? The group she joined, almost entirely made out of people like her who were from, or had some connection with advanced worlds than this place. Not only that, their leader, the man she feared and respected, was a mysterious individual with powers to predict the future. She felt that this group would be invincible in this new world that just only came across magic a century ago.

But the reality was different from her ideal thinking. And her spectacular plan was failed, and the whole group of otherworldly people was annihilated. Even the leader wasn’t spared and was currently on the run from some mysterious stranger. And she had to run too…

But seeing the ghouls and Death Shoguns running at her, the monsters that shouldn’t exist in this place in the first place…she realized everything.

“You bastard, you have formed a contract!!” she shouted to no one in particular. Kenshin was still deep inside the underground, sitting in a lotus position and observing the map while taking sips from a blue potion bottle. And he wasn’t able to hear what she said, in fact, except for moving dots, above which a small HP bar was hanging, he couldn’t see anything else. If he had, he would have confronted her about this so-called contract. This thing was like an unknown room in his house, although he possesses it, he knew next to nothing about it.

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Nevertheless, he had already taken advantage of his newly acquired sub-skill and granted all of them a skill each. Now he just calmly sat, waiting for his minions to their job. At the same time, he was ready to cast [Respawn] if anyone of his minions dies.

It was during this time, one of his death shoguns, who was gifted with the ability to manipulate [Destructive Energy Manipulation] strode forward and attacked the darkness humanoid angel-thing. It coated its rusty katana with a wave of purple energy and slashed it towards it.

“Hmph! A mere undead, how dare you attack me. Vanish from my sight!!” with an arrogant tone, the humanoid angel swiped his arms, summoning a mass of gooey darkness which transformed into a long javelin. With a flick of his wrist, he threw it towards the approaching Death Shogun.

On the contrary, the undead didn’t show any facial expression. Its stats were way higher than the humanoid-angel by a huge margin. It was walking steadily, not even needing to defend. It already knew this spear couldn’t damage it. As expected, when the spear finally arrived near it and touched its rusty armor, the black goo splattered like a ball of water on concrete. It didn’t even manage to stop the creature. With a cold look, the death shogun raised its rusty sword and slashed it downwards.

A purple wave of pure destructive energy took the shape of a gale wind and traveled at the angel-humanoid. The look of disdain was yet to vanish from the dark angel’s face. It hadn’t seen the spectacle of its spear couldn’t damage the monster, too busy to look down. The gale wind arrived in a flash, shredding it with its destructive force and doing further damage due to its corrosive nature. The angel’s natural defense didn’t matter at this time, the destruction energy did damage without any reservation.

“AAHhh!!” he screamed loudly, as pain engulfed its whole body. For an instant, it felt like every single cell, every fiber, and even its soul was being tormented by this malevolent purple energy. Even with its darkness energy, the purple energy’s corrosiveness was too much for it to bear. After screaming loudly, it jumped back and created distance from the Death Shogun, standing like a warrior with its sword held high.

At the same time, a ghoul floated towards the lion-driller thingy that was pursuing Kenshin this whole time. As ordered by Kenshin, its special task was to keep that lion away from him. As a ghoul, they lack a definite physical appearance, as such, they can easily phase through the ground if needed.

On the other hand, one death Shogun and one ghoul circled the huge monkey, as ordered by their master, their mission was to harass it to death.

At this time, a ghoul with black smoke around it floated towards the small sparrow-like bird. It had received the orders to engage with it and keep it away from everyone. As for the remaining death shogun, it had stood guard in front. Its job was to not let this Lyda and the centipede out of sight.

With this, the situation was reversed, and now Lyda was the one who was surrounded from all sides.

Boom!!

Suddenly the ground beneath exploded with dust and debris were thrown everywhere. From the wreckage, a huge shadow flew out and fell on the ground violently. The shadow belonged to the lion-driller type creature. Its body was riddled with countless wounds as blood flew out of them profusely. After falling, it tried to stand up, but its legs gave away, and it fell down violently again.

Roar**

A pitiful roar came from its mouth, and it repeatedly tried to stand up but failed every time. It's at this time, a black silhouette arrived beside the struggling creature and looked at it in cold, emotionless stare. It then raised its ghost hand and pointed at the downed monster. A transparent bubble emerged from its palms and surrounded both of them and everything within a few meters radius.

Then a few seconds later, a huge explosion rocked the whole dungeon once again, covering everything within a blanket of white smoke and falling debris.

On one side, Lyda wore an ugly face as she gritted her teeth in anger. Even so, her legs didn’t dare to move. She was looking at the lone death shogun staring at her like the death itself. She had a feeling that if she even moves a single muscle, the thing would attack and kill her in a few rounds of battle.

This death shogun gave her the exact same feeling as the Kenshin at that time when he was enshrouded by a mass of blue flames.
