“It's over!!” the manager mumbled while kneeling in front of Kenshin. Everything was over for him, there was no way of salvation anymore. Even if the owner of this place were a hunter, he might still don’t wish to scuffle with another and clearly a powerful one for the lowly him. If by any chance, push comes to shove, he might pin all the blame on his head, making him take the brunt of the damage.

When the man thought about all this, he couldn’t help but shudder in fright. Sweating like a pig that was about to get slaughtered, he just kneeled on the floor. Like a man that just lost everything, which might be the case with him right now, he could no longer support his own weight.

Then, as if getting revived, he scurried near Kenshin’s legs and grabbed them while bawling like a child he spoke; “Sir, I am really very sorry for my offense. I am very sorry! I have a family that depends on me to put food on their plate. If I lose this job today under this circumstance, no place will hire me anymore. Sir, please show mercy, let me go this once. I swear I will never do this ever again…buhuhu!” crying like a baby, he wiped all the snort on Kenshin’s pants.

To all this Kenshin made a disgusted face; the image of an old man crying while clinging to his legs is not a pretty sight to watch at all. Moreover, the snort all over on his pants was also very disgusting. It took all the will he had to not kick the shit out of the clinging man.

“You!...get away from me…do not touch me…make distance…!” it was his real feelings, not pretending at all. The man was really disgusting. Seeing the disgusted face of Kenshin, the manager backed away hurriedly to not anger him anymore. After the man left his legs alone, Kenshin looked disgustingly at the goo stuck to his pants. He couldn’t help but shudder at the sight of it. Curbing the impulse of kicking the man hard enough to send him flying, he looked at the manager and ordered; “Clean this! Fast!”

“Yes! At once, sir.” grabbing a tissue from the table he came forward and started cleaning the stuck goo from his pants. After the cleaning was complete, he backed away again and kneeled a little further away.

The humiliation was intense while the waiters were watching. He even had the impulse to fuck it all and go home, but the thought of losing this much money as well as the pressure of his family, he swallowed his humiliation and put on with this play. Inside his heart though, he was cursing his past self as well as the cleaners in the duty of this place. He was, even more, cursing the waiter who brought this man to this particular room out of all.

“I want to talk with this man alone for a few minutes…” when Kenshin spoke this, all the waiter understood what he meant, and immediately left the place after closing the door behind them. pulling a chair out of the table, he sat down facing the manager who was still kneeling on the floor.

“Do you know why I came here?” he asked with his eyes narrowed. At the same time, he rested one of his arms on the table. With the other one, he made a grabbing motion in thin air, with a blue flash his [Red Ruby Sword] flashed into existence. Resting the heavy sword vertically on the ground, he looked at the now even more intimidated man.

The manager looked at the magically appeared sword with a look akin to a pig that saw the weapon that was going to slaughter it. He was in no mood to admire the beautiful sword, to him, it was no different than an executioners’ blade.

“W-Wh-y s-ii-r?” he stuttered out; his eyes not leaving the sword even for a second.

“Hmm! How should I say this, I just wanted to see the courageous man who dared to run amock in my own place while I am not there. I just wanted to see that man…the courageous fellow.” Kenshin spoke like an old man that just came back from guiding a hero that was about to save the world. His voice was deep and calm, while his gaze was very profound.

Not understanding him, with his brows furrowed, the man stared at Kenshin while speaking; “Sir, I don’t understand. What are you speaking about? I have never seen you in my life before, how can I offend you?”

“Heh! Really? Are you that dense?” Kenshin gave him another glare before continuing, “Tell me where are you last night?”

“I was on the s…” just when he was about to say that he was on the other side of the town, he finally realized what was happening. He was a smart man and connected the dot instantly. That’s right, last night he and some other people were in that woman’s bakery under the order of a mutual benefactor of theirs. That person only ordered to mess up her shop. At first, he didn’t approve of such actions, fearing the consequences he was also prepared to decline the order. But after finding out the shop’s background as well as the promised reward by that person, he agreed.

Who would have known that there would be such consequences waiting for him, and it's not even 24 hours yet. Shuddering once again in fright, he looked at the calm and collected face of this hunter sitting in front of him. His face twitched once again as he tried to find the excuse of what they had done. Cursing the man that instigated him to do all this, he tried to think of a way to lighten the burden on his shoulders.

“Sir, I am very sorry for what I did. Please don’t do anything to me…I am prepared to do anything…I can even rattle out the one who ordered me to do so…”

“Hm! You don’t need to say anything, I already knew who did all this. I know already, but I can't just leave you guys who did all that while I was away…but I can give you a way out…”

“What is it sir, I am prepared to anything if it means you won't report me…” the desperate manager who was grasping the straws, was prepared to even commit murder in his heart.

“Tell me about all the people who were involved yesterday. And if they are only simple managers like you, give them a warning that if they don’t come to apologize to her by tonight, I will make them miserable. Hearing the manager’s confirmation, Kenshin had a deep frown as he thought about what the man just told him. This case seems to be getting more and more complicated as he tries to smooth things over.
