-Vol 5: A New Life-
-Weird Group-
“What actually happened? Are they kidnapped by someone for ransom?” Joy asked. Generally, if people were kidnapped, there should be a reason for that, unless you are really unlucky and was kidnapped by a psycho. In typical cases, it was for ransoms or for some other wish fulfillment. Joy though this might be the reason as not many people know that Kenshin was a powerful magic skill user who could fight evenly with first awakened monsters.
“I am afraid it’s a bit more than that. It should be related to the kid, Axel.” Kenshin shook his head and answered Joy’s hypothesis. In fact, from the first day he saw Axel, he knew he was a ticking timebomb. If not for that following him of his own accord, he wouldn’t have dared to bring him home and introduced to Ellie and Mrs. Yui.
“Why? He’s just a brat, how can it be related to him?”
Giving him a glance, Kenshin sighed and started to speak, “I have reasons to believe that Axel might be related to some guild or a hidden organization’s secret experiment or something. And as to why I think like this, you will know after you see that boy.”
“Huh!?” unable to understand what Kenshin meant, Joy could only silently follow him.
By now, they had been long passed through Ellie’s school. Kenshin didn’t have a destination as he was following the rapidly moving markers of Ellie and Axel. Even so, he was worried. The tracker marks were moving just too fast, so fast that not even current cars available in the market could move at that speed. This reinforced the belief that powerful people were after them or more like after Axel.
“Say, Brother, we are really following a destination? It seems like we are just randomly running!” Joy, who had been running for quite a while asked after much contemplation. Though he wasn’t tired at all, he still felt odd for running without any reason.
“Didn’t I tell you about a skill I possess that could seek out anyone I have marked with my magic earlier?” Kenshin looked back at him while furrowing his brows.
“What is that? I heard it for the first time?” Joy shouted in surprise.
“Ohh! So I forgot to tell you about that. Well, yeah. I got this skill, and I have put one marker on Ellie and Axel each. I am just following it. By my estimation, we are actually five kilometers away from them. we have to breeze the gap as soon as possible.”
“Then what are we waiting for?” as he said so, Joy brought out his thunder knuckles. Giving out a spark of yellow thunder, he streaked ahead of Kenshin with unprecedented speed.
“Heh! How can I left behind?” with all the AGI available to him, and using [Highspeed Movements] to its limit, he also ran after Joy. At the same time, he opened [Syetem Store] to look for an agility based skill. He wasn’t looking for a passive but an active skill this time.
“Which one should I choose? Flash Steps, super speed, Five Point movement…which one I wonder!” Kenshin read through the description of all the skills and felt conflicted about choosing. Every single of these skills looks useful and powerful.

“Okay, this will do for now.” Unlike others, Kenshin only needs money to buy skills. As long as he had enough money, he could even buy divine skills. Unfortunately, he had yet to get qualifications to open divine skills in a system store. After quick thinking, he had chosen the [Five Point Movement], among others.
By now, he had already found a pattern. Compared to skills he copied from hunters or monsters, the skills he bought all have low growth potential. Unlike repeated level up, these skills could only level up once or twice, and their power would more or less remain the same. Only if he gains a skill after completing a difficult mission or from a special box, that would have high growth value.
Even now he was yet to reach the full potential of [Passive Regeneration] which was a skill belonged to some low-grade monsters in a level 3 dungeon. Even if he gets a better alternative, he will never switch with this [Passive Regenration] which had an overpowered ability to restore everything a body lacks, even their depleted WIL. He had a hunch as to why his WIL would restore faster than others, even people stronger than him. Turns out it was due to this skill.
This [Five Point Movement] was actually a nice skill whose description mentioned that he could freely move five different places in just a second. It was not only limited to distance. He could also change into five posture, five attack moves…everything. Using this skill, he could even use five different skills in an instant. He could perform them in just a second. But, unfortunately, this still didn’t have any growth potential and was level maxed from the beginning. Try as he might, he could never level this skill.
It would have been better if he could continuously level it up and reach a stage where he could perform a thousand actions in an instant or the reverse, do work in a thousandth of a second. That would have been really nice.

Using this skill, he instantly closed the gap between him and Joy. They both ran towards their destination with Kenshin leading and Joy following.
…
“Is this the place?” Joy asked as he stood in the middle of a lonely road. On both sides of the road, there was nothing but dense with not a single human settlement could be seen. Many years ago this was used to be a populated area, but during the catastrophe, a huge dense forest formed here filled with low-grade monsters.
Following their course, they would be here sooner or later…wiat their speed…they might be here in any second. Be prepared.” Kenshin, who was about to prepare himself, suddenly saw the markers hastening, so he warned Joy to be ready.
Half a second later, three people came to their field of view with a black smoke emitting out of their body. When Kenshin and Joy saw them, they couldn’t help but feel weird by the appearance of the kidnappers.
There was a huge furry monster, that seemed like a werewolf. But it wasn’t a werewolf as it looks bigger than them and possesses an intelligent pair of eyes. Its long snout vibrated as it growled at Kenshin and Joy’s direction. Beside him stood a woman with complexion paler than an albino. She was wearing a pair of hot pants that goes just below her butt and a black bikini top. Around her neck was a huge cross-shaped ornament. Two upward pointy teeth could be seen sticking out of her upper lips. The final man who was following them, he looked the most humane, only there was a huge black wing jutting out of his back. He had black hair and black eyes. By the appearance, he could pass up as a fallen angel.
“Okay, Kenshin…please tell me they weren’t from that group of sparkling vampires?”
“I hope not.” Even Kenshin felt weird and shook uncontrollably just from their looks. These guys seemed to make him remember a certain unforgettable memory that he would rather erase from his mind.
