-Vol 5: A New Life-
-Reversal(2): Exposed-
“Big brother, this fight is going out of hands. I am afraid we will be squashed like bugs if we stay here for long.” one out of the two people squatting in a distance as they observed the fight mumbled.
“Shut up, little brother. You will not get to see a fight of such caliber every day. There are many things to learn for us in this fight. Keep your eyes open so that you won’t miss anything. No matter who survives in this battle, it will be beneficial to us. This way, we can gauge perfectly how true hunters fight.” The elder brother said with a gleam in his eyes. Its as if he had gone crazy at the power of these two hunters.
“Even so, big brother, don’t you see how powerful these monsters summoned by that lady was? I am afraid, if we remain here for long, we might squash like bugs by them. big brother, let’s hurry and leave here.” The young brother felt otherwise. He felt it would be bad if they stick around here for long. The two hunters gathered here were all beyond level 100 hunters, a level which they could only dream of but couldn’t achieve. In front of such hunters, they were like ants waiting to be crushed under their foot. He felt it would be truly foolish to stick here, where two giants were fighting.
“Don’t worry. Nothing will happen to us. Can’t you see how far we have hidden? Besides, we are extremely close to the teleportation circle to the next floor. If something happens, we will jump into the teleportation circle. Okay! Don’t worry. I have it covered.” The elder brother shook his hands and waved off all the younger brother’s worries.
“Sigh! Okay, brother.” The younger brother, in the end, gave up making his elder brother leave and instead inched a little closer to the teleportation station to the higher floors.
…
“Where is that bastard?” Lyda asked to herself while standing atop the centipede. At the same time, she was commanding her lion-driller to check underground to find him. Currently, she had a frown marring her face. She was fighting with him for the past half an hour, but still, she couldn’t fatally injure him. Not only that, one of her own monsters was now dead. It’s a good thing that wasn’t her soul contracted monster, or else, she would have suffered from the backlash.
She then commanded one of her monsters to scan every nook and cranny of the dungeon to locate if he was hiding anywhere or not. Heeding her command, the monsters spread out and started to search everywhere of the dungeon.
…
“Big brother, let's go. Looks like the other guy escaped and isn't coming back. We should also leave here as soon as possible…” the younger brother urged his elder brother, but the man didn’t reply, instead just laid motionlessly while signaling the younger brother to do the same.
“Brother!! Big brother!!” the little brother shook the man again, but he received the same reply. Getting irritated, the elder brother looked at his younger brother and put his index finger on his lips, a sign to keep quiet.
Suddenly at that time, the ground just a little ahead of them exploded with dust and debris flowing everywhere. A thick cloud of dusty smoke clouded the surrounding, chocking the two brothers.
“Cough! Cough!!” unable to hold it in, they broke into a fit of coughs and exposed their location. At that time a slender, rope, like that of a snake, slithered in the smoke and grabbed hold of the younger brother’s legs. It tightened around and hoisted him up like a toy and dangled in midair.

“AAHHH!!! Help!! Big brother! Help!! Help me…” the little brother shouted in fear as he was dangled in midair by a snake-like thing.
“Hikk!! Little brother? Where are you?” the elder brother’s voice came from the foggy ground giving the young brother a little courage.
“Big brother, I am here. Help me!!” the younger brother shouted again, trying to signal his elder brother. It's at that time, the dust-covered fog lifted, revealing everything. When the younger brother saw the scene below, his newly sprouted courage evaporated in an instant, leaving him in despair.
His so-called big brother who had promised him to protect him if anything happens had already retreated inside the teleportation circle and in the verge of activating the teleportation device to access high floors.
“B..big! b-ro-rother! What are you doing?” the little brother stuttered as he saw the man fumbling with the gimmicks of the teleportation device. His eyes widened and now blood red, his head swelled mildly with veins visible to naked eye. Tears poured from his eyes and trailed into his shaggy hair. He could see it clearly what his big brother was doing…but he wasn’t prepared to believe it.
“Little brother! I..I am really sorry…I…I am afraid of these creatures… I promise I will not let your sacrifice in vain. I will bring help and help you get revenge. For now, please forgive me for my cowardice. Forgive me that I am leaving you to die…I am sorry, little brother.” The big brother fumbled with the contraption and finally managed to activate it. The wide teleportation gate opened with a swirling mirror-like appearance.
“big brother, don’t go. Help me here! Big brother…you bastard!! Come here and help me. Didn’t you boast to my sister that you have very powerful skills that can help you kill any foes…go on, use it, and help me? Big brother…aahhhh!! No!! don’t kill me!! No!! Someone help me!! Tommi, you bastard…I will hunt you until the day you die…Aahhh!!” after one final shout filled with anger and resentment, the little brother completely quieted down.
Tommi, the big brother, involuntarily shook when he heard his little brother’s final resentment filled shout but he didn’t dare to linger any longer. He stepped inside the mirror-isque dimensional crack and vanished from the first floor. Although he claimed that he was sad and he would come back with help to avenge his brother, a crazed gleam of relief could be seen on his face. He had a face that showed that he was glad it wasn’t him who was captured and ultimately killed.
…
Back, with the little brother, he was laying in the pool of his own blood as a large hole in his chest. It's done by a huge, rapidly rotating object, judging from the ground innards that was visible. Blood flowed continuously from the wound as the light in the eye of the little brother vanished rapidly.
It's at that time, a white smoke wafted out of the rapidly dying body and then started to go up slowly. But then suddenly it stopped midway and pulled into the ground at a much faster speed than before. It permeated through the ground and went deep inside.
Several minutes later, when Lyda was at the end of her rope, rapid explosions occurred simultaneously at six different places. Startled, she looked around and found six humanoid silhouettes emerging from the exploded ground, carrying an aura of death and murder.
“These are?” even she, who was a descendant of a powerful monster clan that had gained human intelligence and wisdom, had a hard time believing what she saw. There are 6 monsters, undead type specter class monsters, but low-grade monsters non-the-less were coming out one after another from six different locations. If she remembered correctly, three were ghouls, who lack physical forms, and three are death shoguns, with huge agility and strength.
“I see! I see it now! So, this was what happened with Roxy, that idiot. So, you are the one who caused us to fail our mission and forced us to enact our backup plan all those months ago.” Widening her eyes to the size of dinner plates, Lyda shouted in a frenzy. Suddenly, everything made sense to her.
Their failure of the initial plan, then their emergency enact of a backup plan for which they were not yet fully prepared and ultimately the complete failure of their plans and destruction of her dreams…it was all happened because of this human!!
“You…you…bastard…it was because of you…it was because of you my plan…it was ruined…you…”
