-Leo’s Surprise: Prelude to an approaching storm-

And now we come to the present. With the order of their chief, the monkeys literally threw themselves at Kenshin. Although he knew he won't be hurting himself, the sight of more than a hundred monkeys throwing themselves at him was a sight to behold. Even Kenshin became nervous.

Before long he started running out of instinct. But these monkeys were just too clingy, they latched into Kenshin in pairs, attempting to bring him down with numbers. Like that Kenshin was running all over the island with many monkeys hot in his trails. But he wasn’t also idle. While running, he also betaing the shit out of the monkeys. Like that he was running all the way form the deep forest to the edges of the weird island.

At a certain branch, as he was about to step on it and change direction, it unexpectedly broke down. At the same time, a monkey closed on him and kicked his head. Although he wasn’t hurt, the force sent his hovering body down like a rocket. He stabilized his balance in midair and landed gracefully. But even so, the force made the ground below his legs to give in, forming a trench.

At that time, suddenly his senses tickled, without even looking around the found the reason for his senses haywire. He had viewers. Furrowing his brows, he looked at the map and found more than a hundred monkeys were hot in his heels. These people would be in danger the moment those monkeys reach here. As such, he straightened his body and jumped up to counter some of the monkeys that were caught up to him.

After doing quick work out of nearly ten monkeys, that too in the air, he used one of the falling monkeys as a foothold and jumped towards the jungle, to where he had just come from. At the same time, he engaged against all those monkeys with 100% of his total strength. For that reason, his every punch took a life.

EXP quickly piled up.

Leo considered himself a calm individual who could hold his calmness even while in the face of death. But even with all that calmness, he couldn't help but tremble when he saw the Asian man punching and kicking the monkeys like they are goddamn footballs. Not only that, his every strike was actually taking the lives of these sturdy as hell monkeys.

‘Is it some bigshot training!?’ he offhandedly thought while looking amazed at the man who was killing the monkeys like they were cabbages. He was also surprised to find such a powerful individual in a such a small town that only has a level 3 dungeon as the highest threat. What’s happening here?

Leo couldn’t wrap his head around such a situation. Even in his country, such a powerful hunter could be among the upper tier forces with a lot more authority and money. Considering the level up system, powerful hunters would seldom come to a low-level one.

Leo made a mental note to investigate this hunter. Despite looking like an ordinary tourist, Leo had another identity. The place where he was from was actually not under the direct government. The town he was in currently was controlled by a powerful guild, a local tyrant. That guild had a side business of collecting and selling information on different individuals.

A few days ago, a mysterious client appeared and offered them hundreds of thousands of gold coins to do a job. That was to investigate a few places and find out about the powers there. Those places happen to be two areas, that too of a distant place. Those places happen to be Ibaraki and Fukushima prefecture. He didn’t know that the client wants to know about such information, he didn’t complain.

It just happens that this time he was travelling Japan, this job completely coincides with his hobby. During last week, he had travelled all around the two prefectures and using his special methods and skills, he recorded many important details about the hunters and places of these places. Some of these informations were top secret ones, known to only a few people. He was doing this work for many years, and the experience came in handy to do his job more efficiently. Besides it's not like the client asked him to bring him detailed information, they just want to know the surface situation of these two prefectures.

Leo’s guts told him that it was a prelude to a huge conspiracy that could compromise the public order of the two prefectures, but in the end, it had nothing to do with him. He just felt a little sorry for such a country, but aside for that, he had no other emotions.

This country wasn’t his, to begin with!

Just when he thought he had everything covered, such an anomaly appeared. He didn’t expect to see an expert like this half-naked person to still linger around this small town. This forced him to reevaluate the situation in these two prefectures again. He felt like he had missed some very important information. In his head he began thinking this- if there is one, then there must be others!

But with this revelation, he also felt helpless. His Visa would be expiring two days after and his flight was scheduled tonight. He could no longer delay anything. In the end, he decided to add a note to explain that there are some hidden people like the person he had just seen. The real shame for him was that he couldn't manage to see the person’s face, only his back.

“Look! That man! He is fighting with so many monkeys bare hand!” an enthusiastic male hunter shouted as the group of people around Leo made their way towards where the mass fight was going on.

“Yes! So strong!! Did our Mito had such an expert?”

“His level must be sky high for him to fight with these monkeys face to face, barehanded!” a teenaged hunter had hearts for eyes while staring at the fighting form of Kenshin.

“Maybe he is one of the rising stars of the Ibaraki prefecture!” a middle-aged hunter speculated as he looked concentrated at the fight, trying to recall if had seen someone fighting like this before.

Leo had also heard about these so-called rising stars.

Every year, the DCB and all the top class guilds arrange a sort of challenge type of missions. Those who complete these missions with flawless scores were selected to participate in the year-end competition. Rising stars refers to those hunters who had completed the highest amount of these so-called missions with flawless scores.

The winner of such competition not only earns a huge amount of money, but they also receive some important position from the respective government. As for the other perks, they change every year. One of the perks last year for the winner was that they could extend their stay to any country for a period as long as six months. Not only that, they didn’t need a VISA to travel around ever in their lives.

To travel enthusiasts like him, that particular reward was no less than a holy artefact. Unfortunately, he lacked the strength to even enter that tournament.
