-Ellie’s Distress call!-
After returning from the bank, Kenshin took a taxi to home. The bank manager was also kind enough to hand him over a platinum members Credit card, a privilege that only rich people could get. This card would allow him to buy anything he wants and visit anyplace he wants without any limit, it also didn’t have any maximum amount limit.
All these things were quite new for our MC. Not long ago he was using that debit card the bank provides to all its users, but now, he was in possession of the limited edition platinum credit card. If someone had to tell him this not long ago, he would have laughed at their joke, but now, it had become a reality. According to the manager, with this card, he was now VIP in their bank and would be privileged to attend all kind of VIP only services that they provide, like buying dungeon related materials at a fair price and that too discreetly to evade taxes.
They even provide all kind of materials that were not available in the market due to various reasons, that too in a lowered price than the black market. He can even apply for loans of huge amounts in a lowered interest rate than normal, all of it because he has this platinum card. Another interesting thing was that, with this credit card, he could even withdraw money on an ATM, which was impossible on any other credit cards circulating in the market.
Honestly speaking, he wasn’t aware that, a bank provides such services, even he was a little afraid of using this card. The value of this card seems to be too much for any normal person to understand.
“Ah…driver, here. Stop the car here.” since the street to his house appeared, Kenshin stopped the cab driver and handed him 12$ cash. After that, he got out of it and started walking towards his rented apartment.
“Sir! The change!!” the driver called him when he saw that there were a few dollars more in his hand.
“Keep it.” the driver looked at Kenshin in surprise a few seconds before happily keeping everything in his pockets. After all, who would say no to extra money?
“Thank you!”

9 PM, same day
Suddenly Kenshin’s phone, which was discarded on the couch, vibrated inconsistently. After reaching his home, he immediately had a nice hot bath and jumped into his bed to get some shuteye. Even though physically he was fine, mentally, he needs some rest.
Even though the phone wasn’t ringing, his acute senses, easily caught onto the vibrations of the phone. It was a new side effect of the skill, Heart of Rhythm. This skill made him susceptible to all the vibrations surrounding him, and if he concentrated enough, he could even feel the vibration of his heart’s beating.
Waking from his bed, he walked towards the phone and saw the caller was Mrs Yui.
“Hello! Mrs Yui, what happened?” he instantly relaxed seeing that it's his landlady’s call. For a second he thought it was someone else. But the call was anything but pleasant.
“What? Ellie, you stay there, I am coming.” His voice had a trace of urgency in it. Throwing a t-shirt over his bare body, he ran towards the shop section of Mrs Yui’s home.
At this time, inside the Mrs Yui’s bakery shop, a spectacle was happening. A group of black-suited men were surrounding the shop, not allowing anyone to come or go. Three black armored cars were parked in the front, which completely covered the street. A large amount of crowd had gathered to see the show happening inside the shop.
“Mrs Yui, the first time I saw you, I have already fallen in love with you. Your beauty, your grace, and of course the cute daughter you have, all these things have enamored me. Its like fate, didn’t you think so? Now I have come here, showing you enough sincerity and you are rejecting me time and again! are you perhaps judging me?” the speaker of all this trash was a middle-aged man, who frankly looked a few decades older than Mrs Yui. He was wearing black armour, the usual ones that high levelled hunters tend to wear. Behind his back was a huge sword, that was half of his body’s height.
But his face, it was a different matter. He had a large scar going from his left eye’s brows to all the way below his right ear. His hair was yellow. Apparently, he had bleached it. Half of his left ear was missing, and the other half was badly mangled. His left eye was closed permanently, sealed shut by stitches. He looked hideous.
Currently, he was standing in front of Mrs Yui while holding a bouquet of flower, offering it to her as a form of a gift. Although he looked frightening, Mrs Yui didn’t even blink. Although the appearance was a little intimidating, the rest wasn’t. She wasn’t afraid of his status as a hunter, she already had one living in her apartment, who works for the government. So she looked at the man unflinchingly and said with a calm tone, “Thank you for expressing your feelings to me…but…I am sorry that I would be unable to accept your love. I have a child, and she doesn’t need a father figure. And I am also not looking for a man to support me, I alone am enough to support my daughter. You should find another girl to satiate your crave and forget about me. now please leave this place, you are affecting my business.”
“Must you always ignore me! I have come with enough sincerity and you bitch! You ignore me?” the man clearly lost it, and threw the bouquet of flowers to the ground.
“Excuse me, can you please stop talking trash in here! there are kids here.” Mrs Yui frowned at his bad language and warned the man. But he was already beyond seeing reasons.
“Shut up bitch! How dare you reject me, straight to face and humiliate me in front of so many people? Do you know who I am? I am a C rank hunter that has connections in all over the place. Making your life a living hell is as easy as breathing to me.” he grabbed the hairs on her head pulled on it painfully to make his point across.
Sigh!
Ellie, who was hiding near the stairs saw all this and gasped in horror. Someone was bullying her mom! What can she do? As she thought about it, streams of tears fell from her watery eyes. She had the urge to go in there and fight with that bad man, but she was an intelligent lady. She knew by going there she would make the situation worse. Then she remembered seeing big brother Shin coming to his home form her room this evening.
Her eyes instantly brightened. She ran to upstairs to his mother’s room and grabbed her phone. Searching for Kenshin’s number, she finally found it saved with a lot of hearts. Not understanding the meaning, she called it.
“Big brother, come quick. A bad man was bullying my mom!” she was hysteric. With that one sentence, she had already hiccuped thrice. She was scared, very much so. She was scared that the bad man would beat her mom badly. She was just a little girl living her life happily, how can she tolerate this kind of tragedy? Besides, she loved her mom very much.
“What? Ellie, you stay there, I am coming.” Hearing her big brother Shin’s words, she calmed down somewhat and waited for him to appear.
Boom!
Suddenly the glass window of the room broke as a figure appeared inside in a flash, then with a wave of his hands, the glasses of the window repaired itself as if they didn’t break in the first place. This startled the poor girl a lot, so much that she backed all the way and postered herself into the wall. But after seeing who it was, her fear instantly vanished as a smile bloomed on her tear-stained face.
