The Black Monster Is Crazier!!
West of the Cas Region's sea territory. Deeper into the night.
POH POH POH… TA- RARARARA… PUH… BANG- BANG, BOOOOM!
3 Fleets rapidly advanced towards the Cas Region's western shores. The 2 Fleets that initiated the battle were spearheading forth while the supporting Fleet, which arrived later, moved between the 2, crashing waves far apart and even lowering the sea level on its path. The other 2 Fleets navigated a few kilometers from the sides of the Fleet in between them. The latter was a couple of hundred meters below, seemingly absorbing and crushing any water before it. However, it was the only Fleet heavily bombarding the enemy, who kept flooding to the western shores from everywhere in the Region.
“We’re almost there, we’ll secure you an open space and give you time, but be quick!” The Admiral from one of the earliest Fleets shouted into their connected channel. An Admiral who was too focused on the battlefield kept his arms crossed, looking ahead, and nodded with a light grunt.
“Come on! Prepare everyone, we’re disembarking in half a minute!” The same Admiral shouted with his cultivation base behind his voice spreading throughout the Fleets as the soldier units echoed, “Hua! Hua! Hua!”
The firepower the Fleets received only increased since the start of the battle before the western ports transported their Fleets off. Additionally, ever since the Fanto Region was confirmed to become fully invaded by a few hundred million soldier units, the Cas Region was as if injected with chicken blood. Since they were only attacked from the west, and to their east— the Ca Region now suffered an invasion from their southern shores, they were left to fend for themselves.
The Crimsons were too much to confront them even when grouping with other Regions, let alone a 1* Region that could barely afford a few Flotillas in the best case scenario. They didn’t even have spaceships, and just as the Fleets were mere kilometers from the shores’ floor, a few dozen spaceships flew out of the Fleets’ formation, heading to the Region’s northwest.
The other Fleet beside the one in the middle loudly spoke into the channel, as those spaceships were from the Fleet in the middle. “Are you playing cat and mouse? We’re fine here!”
“We’ll buy some time, that’s all,” the central Fleet’s Admiral calmly responded before engrossing himself back on the battlefield. The 2 Admirals tilted their heads in a gesture but didn’t say anything else. They continued rushing forwards as the Frigates burned their small engines and disappeared from the battlefield.
Meanwhile, the Admirals identified a third of the enemy troops heading in the same direction as the Frigates, intending to destroy them and take the soldier units the central Fleet sent away down. The Admirals remained silent, but just like the soldier units who rushed into the Fanto Region a couple of hours ago, the remaining soldier units in the warships felt a budding rage within their hearts.
Seeing their comrades chased around like they were easy prey by easily more than triple their numbers made the about-to-disembark soldier units thrilled to engage in the storm, which they could only visualize from within the warships. Their Spirit Sense only allowed them to imagine the enemy formation and their defenses. As for the citizens, their enhanced hearing no longer made them nervous. They wanted to lift their rifles already and tumble down some motherfuckers.
“Go! Rush! Forward! KIIIL!!” Suddenly, they heard their superior shout. Every soldier unit within the warships and Frigates following the Fleet changed their expressions. Ruthlessness showed, and before them, the gates to their new, perfect hell opened. The whistling wind rushed into their faces first, followed by a flooding rain that immediately wetted their armor and clothing. Then, every soldier unit, even the citizens, stepped forth once as they felt a gravity array formation push them forth.
Their bodies rushed through the sky, protected by the extended Elemental Water Eye barriers for a few seconds. The rest was an empty fall as they shot energy attacks and their rifles at the enemy below. In a mere second, hundreds of enemy cultivators fell, some died, some injured, and some returning the fire.
The Crimsons overflying the enemy received the damage, with the cultivators defending the citizens moderately. Those at the front rapidly prepared a device with pre-inscribed gravity array formations to stop the citizens’ descent. After all, they couldn’t fly.
TA- RARARARARA- PSHIFT PSHIFT PSHIFT- BEEEEEEAAAAAAAMMM~~~~~!
“KILL!” - “HUAA!” - “HUAAAAA!” - “HUAA!!!” The battle ashore had just begun in the Cas Region. The situation immediately became bloodshed as the Fleets retreated a few kilometers rapidly before proceeding to retreat at a slower pace. They focused on firing at the sky, which, as expected, the enemy suddenly indiscriminately fired at the shore, not caring about their own army perishing.
The enemy was ruthless and so scared that they didn’t dare let the Crimsons have a fair fight, but their arsenal was far smaller than even a single Crimson Fleet. While the Fleets retreated, their Fighters didn’t, and even the Frigates let go of their Fighters to fully support the battle, so the massacre was positive on their side and only negative on the enemy’s side.
While this left the Frigates much more vulnerable, and the firing naval bombardment and barraging on the enemy was drastically reduced. In a simple fight, the Crimsons were in an overwhelming advantage. Meanwhile, the Cas Region had paced their trump card in sacrificing their soldier units, who knew of the procedures.
Neither side was willing to lose, it was the same prospect in nearly every other war in the world. One force wanted to rule over the other, and that was it. This was the cultivation world. Even if the Turtle Hiding Region’s forces doubled along their prestige and fearsomeness, no Stormy Calm Sea Region would bend their knees and nod their heads. It was that simple.
With multiple losses, under the storm, within the night. With their ‘big brother’ navy before them, their enemy right in front of them, the remaining enemy behind them as they cornered a good deal of the Cas Region’s forces. The land forces won their first battle in the Cas Region.
However, they couldn’t just continue now. Due to the stringent measures the Cas Region used to repel them, if they sent their auxiliary units, they would’ve been halved by the time the Fanto Region was conquered and their fellow soldier units came to their aid. First, the soldier units ashore must find a refuge where the Fleets could send their auxiliary units to them before they could proceed to occupy the rest of the Cas Region.
However, this method was quite time-consuming and slow. The enemy didn’t stop firing at them. It was obvious they had kept some good stuff for themselves, despite helping their neighboring island Regions trade outside the Stormy Calm Sea. It was impossible for a 1* Region to have enough ammunition to permanently fire and launch it away to stop the Crimsons’ advancement.
But the Fleets weren’t to be outdone. Even though they were the last to deploy the soldier units in their Fleets, their disembarking went out smoothly, and the losses couldn’t stop the land forces in the Cas Region’s western shores from achieving their goal.
During the first hour of the war’s resumption, only the Fleets around the Fanto Region disembarked onto its beaches and shores. But in the next hour, it became the hour when the battle changed and became one where the Chief’s land forces became the main actors. Before, the navy did all the work, and many things could have gone more terribly, but it all ended objectively well.
Although the Fleets were still entasked with protecting the land forces in the enemy Regions, they were no longer under direct threat. Now, all 3 billion soldier units were deployed across 4 1* Regions. It was up to them to spread their wings as ‘infinitely’ as possible and conquer them.
During the second hour, all the other Fleets disembarked their soldier units in the Ca and Bel Regions. Only the Cas Region remained. Now that all islands Regions were under the occupation of the Crimsons, it was only a matter of time before they fell. Once the neighboring Regions learned about this, their brains began working ways to defend their land.
3 hours have gone by since the recommencing of the war. Finally, all target Regions were successfully breached by the Chief’s land forces. Every chess piece was placed where they should be, and the board’s focus became more and more concentrated…
. . .
4 days later. The Stormy Calm Sea… welcomed calmness once again.
1 day after the Fanto Region was breached and invaded by hundreds of soldier units, it fell under the nicknamed ‘shadow cross’ troops. These consisted of a few hundred thousand troops, accompanied by incredibly fast ‘special’ units which focused on simply devastating everything. The land, the enemy, and anything living on their path.
They started in the south, but they spread from the center towards 4 different corners, similar to how an X-cross is shaped. Although it seemed to be mindless destruction and reaping of lives, this actually hindered the Region’s leading figures’ closed ones from running away by air. The shadow cross troops had at least a couple of hundred Frigates, all with a unique badge decorating their hull on a side.
No matter if it was Faunas, Fighters, or speeding spaceships, they were all shot down instantly as soon as they soared into the sky. This even caused some issues with a news anchor that was visiting the other Regions in the Stormy Calm Sea. But they couldn’t do anything other than complain in the Turtle Hiding Region to empty ears in the Large City.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
They went into a warzone where the infamous Crimsonbreaking Faction was involved and wanted to flee after bad things started happening. What did they expect? Nevertheless, they did manage to get a few shots from the leaders of this ‘shadow cross’ troops. Of course, they might have not missed Anastasia, but Molto wasn’t seen at all.
Grietta met them with her little baby daughter, granting them an offer they couldn’t refuse. Afterwards, the war continued, and more shocking images spread throughout the Universitalities of Yore Universal Land. The black monster’s land forces were like a slowly enclosing plague which first parasites the land, and then let their malign virus spread everywhere.
After the Fanto Region fell, the Bel Region was next, as it was the closes to it, and the Fleets sent to the Fanto Region had already formed a blockade between them. The soldier units in the Fanto Region didn’t even have to worry about time. They only spent a few hours, traversing hundreds of thousands of kilometers across the ocean, to arrive at the Bel Region.
From there, the virus known as the Crimsons who conquered the Fanto Region spread from the east to the west, from the Bel, to the Ca, and finished in the Cas Region. Surprisingly, even to Heian Ciemnosc, who was calmly talking about life in his cultivation bedroom, the soldier units sent to the Cas Region became overpoweringly resilient and indomitable.
When Anastasia and the other hundreds of millions of soldier units arrived at the Cas Region’s eastern beaches, they actually cooperated with those soldier units. This led them to a magnificent victory in which even Anastasia’s commandeering spread throughout the battlefields with her counseling.
When the Cas Region finally fell, it wasn’t just the Turtle Hiding Region and the Crimsons who heaved a sigh of relief. The 4 targeted Regions’ inhabitants and the rest of the Regions in the Stormy Calm Sea equally heaved it. 2 parts of this war, each of which the Crimsonbreaking Faction territory’s Chief of operations’ forces suddenly struck and achieved victory.
The Stormy Calm Sea Regions could be fooled once, humiliated twice, but the thrice; they’ll fight until they can force the Crimsonbreaking Faction back off and give them a breather, or give them more time to respond by helping the Crimsons select a weaker target.
Of course, only the conquered Regions could understand that the greatest winning factor in these parts of the war, with lightning mobilizations, was the intel gathering capabilities the Chief had. If not for that, and the absurd preparation skills of his forces, even the Turtle Shell and Weeping Viper Regions’ conquer would’ve been elongated by not finding the latter’s young blood.
Unfortunately, even those who still wished to fight and at least help in the war effort against the Chief’s forces couldn’t do anything. The 6 recently conquered Regions were shut off from the outside world, as if for daring to rebel and not bend their knee immediately. Even Universal Conveyances were prohibited, and if not by military law, then by array formations.
The news anchor the Crimsons had trouble with before was the only way for the rest of the world outside the Crimsonbreaking Faction territory to know what was happening there. However, just when everyone thought the calmness this time might remain, the Stormy Calm Sea Region was unknowingly unprepared to meet another shocking event.
However, one thing was clear. Despite the desire for peace, which even the most clueless civilian children felt a heavy tension in their chests that came and went in intervals. The remaining 9 Regions finally became fully apprehensive, and their coasts were rapidly stocked up with piles and piles of supplies underground. No matter what other sneaky methods the Chief can offer, they will know if their Region’s underground is ‘tainted’ by them… right?
… While the night of the Stormy Calm Sea commenced with news of the Cas Region’s surrender early in the morning, the Non-Presentable Calm 3* Region held a small meeting. The reason it wasn’t bigger was because the majority of their hierarchy was busied with personally defending their coasts in case of an incursion from the Crimsons. Even they were aware, let alone the rest of the ‘small ones’ across the other side of the blockade.
The lack of occupied chairs was evident of this matter, and how much they stressed the leading figures of a 3* Region. What about the rest?
Step, step, step, step, step… A man entered the meeting room, which looked more like a palace with pale golden and bright brown everywhere, designed with niche patterns on the floor and pillars. He bowed deeply, fairly apologetically for interrupting, before saying with a face full of sweat. “Sir, it’s news from the blockade. The Crimsons finally responded, but…”
“I have no time for hesitation, out with it,” a bald, tall person sat on a throne before the meeting table. It was made of lavish, light brown colored wood. The man nodded and let it out in one breath. “They ‘reminded’ us that we’ll be crushed down under their might if any other merchant fleet or even boat comes any closer again. We- we are their enemies, and can’t consider any ‘future’ opportunities.”
“…” The tall, bald person had serene black eyes, brown skin, and seemed like a Giant, but was only a Human. The look he gave the man startled the man a little, making him feel like he was suspicious of him. The man wanted to clarify himself and tell the bald person that he wasn’t any spy, but that would’ve complicated things out of nowhere, and things simply got more complicated in the man’s head. He started sweating.
“Leave, then,” the tall person said before returning his attention to a panel on top of the table. The other leading figures of the Region continued looking at the same panel, seemingly pensive and perturbed. The man left without worries, cleaning his sweat with Vigor Energy.
“George, you’re making people afraid again,” a beautiful woman in purple, red, and thin clothing with ribbons lying around her arms walked up from her seat and leaned on the tall person’s right shoulder. She was a half Elf and Human, tall but shorter than him, and had a thin build.
Despite her non-Beast affiliation, she was half an Elf. That was enough for any capable person to achieve a good status in the Flora-Sweet White-Heavens Dynasty to become an envoy and even representative. After all, those who couldn’t reach the Godhood Step before 50,000 years were only Godly cultivator soldier units in the future. At least in their eyes.
“Mfh,” George grunted, popping a smile on the beautiful lady as a result. Time passed, with the lady sitting on his right thigh. She was like a Fairy in her natural form, sitting on a kid’s lap. Such were their body differences despite her height.
Just then, a hurried glow emerged in their emblems.
“What?!” George nearly sat up. He carefully let the lady stand up first, who knitted her eyebrows at the news, before springing to his feet at once. The other leading figures didn’t know what was happening. One of them asked, feeling somewhat strange, “What is it, sir? Has something happened in the Turtle Hiding Region?”
“No…” George’s eyebrows furrowed, adopting a fierce image which slightly terrified his subordinates. He opened his mouth to speak as the lady, still on his right, held his big hand. “The… black monster has appeared in the Inunda Region after suddenly emerging from the Asabas Region’s core.”
“!” - “No way!” - “Is he trying to intimidate us?” - “Heng! Does he need to? Any further?” - “Silence!” There was a growing unrest in the meeting room until George shut everyone up. He paced between the table and the entrance of the meeting room before placing his fists on the table. “He exited the central southern Regions calmly. But something else happened in the northwestern Regions.”
Now calm and placated, the other leading figures looked at George and calmly waited. George’s left arm was intimately hugged by the lady, appearing affectionate as he resumed. “The Inunda Region suddenly exploded after a dark dome appeared…”
Their eyes flashed with engrossed glints as they heard those words. But it was still inconclusive. One of them frowned and lightly asked, “Sir, but how did this happen without us noticing? That black monster is at the Universe realm, too. How strange can his Spirit Sense also be?”
“We can’t. That’s it.” George adamantly said, leaving no room for discussion. He concluded his words. “The Inunda Region lost their most reputed leading figure, a Universe realm 7th stage cultivator. I know nothing of the fight, or what happened exactly, but the Inunda Region promised to donate 25% of their current resources to the Regions he just conquered.”
“Several more Universe realm experts were heavily injured. Their proximate healing process is from 7 to 11 deca-” George continued explaining, when his eyes suddenly expanded. The lady on his left also reacted immediately, but only with her eyes, as Heian Ciemnosc’s appearance came too abruptly, shocking them to the core!
WHOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAASHSHHHHHHHHHHHH~~~!!!
The entire world around the palace became debris and flying glass as Heian Ciemnosc’s 6 meters dark tail smoothly flitted in the air. It was like a tenebrous, terrific vertebral column extending from his rear, giving his dark coat and darkest eyes a most fitting synergy.
Flip~!! Heian Ciemnosc threw something from his left sleeve, flinging it towards George. A blank piece of paper and a dark quill flew to George’s front together. Since his Spirit Sense didn’t touch them, they fell before his feet. Right then, before he could lower his head to look at it, Heian Ciemnosc’s calm words echoed throughout the palace, “Sign it.”
“…?” George directed his stare upwards, directly glaring at Heian Ciemnosc. But before even a breath of air traveled in or out of anyone’s lungs, Heian Ciemnosc tilted his head to the left, returned his head to a neutral position, and coughed. He covered the cough with his left fist before his darkest eyes went fully dark, charming everyone else but George and the lady. They were bewitched for only 2 seconds.
Bowwbooumb!!
Myriad Darkness Materialization formed a tiny dome, enough to capture the entire palace from the sky to the underground. Pretty small, really. Then, the next thing George knew, he felt a brush of tiny air rush beside him before the dark dome was dismantled.
George first looked at his subordinates, who were still lost in Heian Ciemnosc’s darkest eyes’ charm. Then, he looked up, about to confront the black monster whose cultivation base was at the Universe realm 3rd stage. But his eyes fell flat, dispirited, and widened to unnatural levels.
“Ugf- kuff, aghk!” The lady, representative of the Flora-Sweet White-Heavens Dynasty, struggled to pull the overly pale hand clutching her neck away. Her face was directed towards the ceiling, but the veins all around her body were already bulging and trembling with pain.
“Sign it,” Heian Ciemnosc’s calm voice got quiet. His darkest eyes returned to normal as he gazed at George. The latter looked down and read its contents before checking it with his Spirit Sense and Soul. Then, a string from his heart spurted out, formed out of his blood essence, and tainted the no longer blank piece of paper.
“Where’s yours?” George asked, containing a rage so terrible even he was afraid of hurting his lady if he made a move now. Heian Ciemnosc nodded at the red blood essence on the blood essence vow before letting go of the lady, his hand had red blood tainting it. Heian Ciemnosc noticed it and said to the lady apologetically before burping, “That’s not yours. Sorry, I just had a snack.”
“Mine’s got there before yours, just check. Keep it. You wouldn’t want everyone to see it, right?” Heian Ciemnosc said before casually flying out without flapping his dark tail. He turned around and let the lady maintain her body in midair.
“…” George frowned. He looked down at the vow contract, before his pupils and irises shrunk altogether. The quill he used to sign his name and the Non-Presentable Calm Region’s name became tainted and nearly indiscernible, like his blood essence! As for the quill, it rapidly disintegrated into dark smoke and dissipated into thinner air…
“You didn’t have to…” The lady flew down and said to George. He shook his head and held her waist, facing her as the others automatically left Heian Ciemnosc’s charm after the black monster flew too far away. “You’re everything…”
The lady rolled her eyes. However, she needed pampering now, and someone just gained favor with her… Tonight would be as crazy as the wars’ 2 parts which the Stormy Calm Sea had gone through. What else to say of this sudden event from the Chief of operations? Time to go wild!
…
