The Battle Of The Soaring Dragon (8—Last Part)
At the sea, in the battlefield between the Blauw Empire's fortified islands and the offRegion enemy. Warships sank as the enemy kept firing, destroying the fortified islands' shields, and the tens of thousands of Fighters in the aerial battlefield took the principal role.
While there were still 3 enemy Fleets spread from Front 1 to Fortress, and finally Front 2, keeping the Blauw Empire's City islands and Small City island safe, the number of Fighters above in the sky surpassed 50,000. The enemy's Carriers had about 10,000 Fighters each, while the fortified islands had more than 20,000. It was an intense scenario where anyone looking from behind the fortified islands would see a battle and something being destroyed or exploding against something else.
… rarararararara! From one of the many fights in the sky, a unique Fighter suddenly broke from an enemy wall, whose barrier was still active, shot from behind, and opened a gap wide enough to let the Fighter cross through. However, hundreds of Fighters followed it, shooting at the barrier and opening it before rushing to traverse the widening gap. The sound of machine guns firing went from being muffled to deafening the enemy Fighters flying outside their comrades’ barriers.
When they saw the unique Fighter lead a few hundred Empire Fighters, their eyes turned wide, and their communications were simply melody to the Ornament’s invasive spying systems. “It’s that thing again!” - “Goddammit! Why is a puny lower Second Step organization facing us off?! No!!” - “Maneuvers! It’s going after- SHIT! Missiles launched! Flee! Retreat! Retreat!”
… pfiuh, pfiuh, pfiuh, pfiuh! The enemy Fighters ignored Blauw Ishikyy and her group, taking to the skies where they came from, where their Carriers could protect them better. However, she chased after them, even daring to engage in an all-out face-off above the enemy Carrier, knowing the latter was too busy being the main firepower besides the Battleships to destroy layer after layer of shields from the fortified islands.
BoooooooooooOOOOOOooooooommmm~! Behind them, the enemy Fighter’s barrier formation down-facing Front 1 was invaded by Fortress’s missiles, immediately wreaking the flames of destruction that stretched over hundreds of meters and obliterated yet another strong point for the enemy’s aerial advantage. When the enemy saw another cluster of fire extending in the sky, deleting more numbers from their Fighters, they started feeling the threat of the Blauw Empire but stubbornly remained at their battle positions and continued drilling into the Empire’s shields.
“There are another 2 Fleets!!” Suddenly, to the shock of the First Admiral and the Fighters following Blauw Ishikyy, her shout caused the battlefield to seem so small, yet more immense than they could think of simultaneously. However, were the Fighters following Blauw Ishikyy, their royal princess, afraid or doubtful about following her anymore? No! They only became astounded and felt heaviness everywhere on their bodies, and as if the world was pulling them down from the inside. It was nothing!
“Let’s greet them. They have the same emblem… how dare they touch my home?!” Blauw Ishikyy’s voice turned hoarse after commanding in under 20 minutes. She had to reserve her Soul and Spirit Sense for maneuvers and getting out of terrible situations. Even then, the Ornament was already damaged, with quite a dozen Fighters sacrificing their lives for her. Of course, it wasn’t the strongest that gave their lives to protect her, but those who were close to not even able to fly.
“Huaaa!” But when they heard her hoarse voice, the Fighters’ teams gained the spirit to meet head-on 2 whole enemy Fleets without fear. They immediately flew towards it and watched as 2 thin trails of smoke exited the Ornament to the left from the cabin and another to the right, yet still continued pressing forward without thinking twice… and as long as they didn’t receive direct orders from the First Admiral.
Ta- rarararararararararara- rararararararara~! Prrrrrrrriiiii~~...! Pfiuh, pfiuh, pfiuh, pfiuh…! Bang! Bang, bang, bang, bang! Boooom!
The few hundred elite Fighters overflew the enemy Fleets, quite surprising them as they didn’t expect the Empire to actually plan to divide their strength and launch a preemptive attack on them while moving towards the sea. However, after the Fighters started flying past the first enemy Fleet and met the second, the latter was already prepared and began firing their machine guns and artillery guns at the sky.
Blauw Ishikyy became used to and addicted to the sound of her and the other Fighters’ machine guns and anti-missile turrets going off like crazy. Thus, when the enemy opened fire, she immediately recognized it and started giving orders while her Ornament led the Fighters in intricate, sudden movements and changes in their formation to avoid the enemy firing lines. With each change, no matter what the strategy of the enemy’s second Fleet was, the Fighters reduced the damage they took and the casualties to a minimum.
All the while, missiles and whatever artillery guns they had rained on the enemy second Fleet’s warships. Their machine guns weren’t so helpful, but they still aimed low in case the enemy deployed their Carriers, and it happened. As soon as they saw an opening from the enemy’s first Fleet, half the Fighters in the formation turned upside down, faced backwards in a nose-diving position, and rained bullets on the enemy Fighters coming out of their shield while launching missiles at the same, with some managing to sneak in to damage the enemy Carrier in question, unequivocally baffling the enemy!
“We are in grave danger! The enem-” BOOOOM~!
“!” However, they were also in danger. The enemy’s firepower suddenly started focusing on a few of them, targeting the smaller groups or those with Fighters at the worst possible state, bombarding and barraging them to annihilation. Blauw Ishikyy was helpless to do anything immediately and could only say while gritting her teeth as explosions occurred below her, shaking the unbreakable Ornament. “Finish the pass! We’re returning afterwards. We’ve made enough for today. Most of you need to rest. At least for some hours before returning to battle. Endure it!”
“Huaa!” - “Huaaa!” - “Hua!!” Her Fighters responded in kind, shouting to the top of their lungs, even before exploding to bits as the immense enemy fire destroyed them. The exchange of damage was massive, but not only did the enemy’s first Fleet’s Carrier deploy its Fighters from many different angles, but the enemy’s second Fleet’s Carrier did the same. Enemy Destroyers and Cruisers started sinking, but dozens of Fighters were lost in under half a minute, gnawing and stabbing Blauw Ishikyy’s heart as her eyes became wide open. But then…
Beep. “... Here Door’s Expiring Breath Sect’s Fleet commander, present to aid the Blauw Empire in this battle. Fighters in the sky, immediately distance yourselves! Opening fire!”
“!” - “?!” - “!!!” The Fighters watched as a mist, several tens of kilometers wide, surfaced from underwater to their right. A complete Fleet, with all weapons and in a linear formation, aimed everything at not just the enemy warships but their Fighters as well!! Blauw Ishikyy looked on with widened eyes, and a figure appeared in her mind, and she rapidly gave the order. “Disperse!! Immediate evacuation! Clean the space and let them fire!”
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh…!
The Fighters dashed into the distance, fleeing left, right, or forwards to the enemy’s second Fleet’s rear. They rapidly escaped the supposed ally Sect’s line of fire. Meanwhile, the Door’s Expiring Breath Sect Fleet commander received a rapid attempt from the enemy to communicate. “You are unaffiliated to the Blauw Empire! You’re not even from the core eastern Regions. What are you doing here?!”
“... Wrong. You messed with the wrong ally, and I’m not talking about myself.” The Sect’s Fleet commander responded silently, stoically, and with cold murder intent. The enemy side went silent for a full second, where emotions could be heard from the coms, before finally speaking again. “This is bigger than you think! You do not know who you’re messing with. If you continue, you will be just one of many fools in the future!”
“You worry about today since you won’t have a future. After taking you down, what’s stopping my people from turning your carcasses into manpower?” The Sect’s Fleet commander said, making the other side audibly nervous. The enemy commander shouted, “You… you wouldn’t dare! You can’t do this! This is not your tur-”
“The Door’s Expiring Breath Sect only needed permission from one person. That person is not you, fire.” The Sect’s Fleet commander casually said in the same manner as before, and thus, his Fleet’s Supreme Battleships and Carrier bombarded the slightly distracted and weakened 2 enemy Fleets. The enemy commander didn’t have time to respond before the coms were cut off, and the Door’s Expiring Breath Sect’s Fleet fired every single little piece of arsenal they had on both Fleets.
Ta- rarararara!… Pum! Pum! Pum!... Pfiuh, pfiuh, pfiuh, pfiuh, pfiuh!... Pf pf pf pf pf pf pf!
Machine guns’ sudden, instantaneous fire turned the water’s surface into tunnels, like tubes leading from one place to another, with enough flexibility to arch and move sideways as the enemy warships were destroyed and their few survivors received energy attacks to finish them off. Artillery guns blew every ‘big’ enough baby to smithereens in groups with their Flotillas or groups of warships, spreading momentary fear into the enemy before erasing them from the world. Missiles were launched, and albeit being targeted and forced to detonate in the air, more than half successfully, obliterating a warship every couple or each.

Finally, while the enemy Fleets used their rocket launchers as soon as possible, the Sect’s Fleet had already launched 3 LBFD rocket launcher rounds with all warships that had them, 1 GFD round, and 2 HD rounds, immediately halving both enemy Fleet’s warships as they began sinking, and rapidly. It didn’t take long before the enemy Fleets were destroyed when Blauw Ishikyy received a voice message from the Sect’s Fleet commander.
“... Royal princess, your servant has come here to protect your way back into the battlefield. May I request your people’s guidance there? You may come to my Carrier and repair your Fighters. Mine only has 12,000 aboard.” The Fleet commander’s voice was subservient, although not natural like it is with her palace maids or the Imperial Prosecutors, Imperial Teachers, and Imperial Elders. But knowing these guys must be new, Blauw Ishikyy agreed and led her Fighters to the Carrier.
When Blauw Ishikyy and her Fighters boarded the Carrier, the personnel in it made her eyes astounded. The weakest among them had a cultivation base equal to hers! While the strongest, but still with large numbers in the warship, were from the Dantreulity realm! Blauw Ishikyy was stupidly bewildered and immediately felt apprehensive. The Carrier’s commander walked to the Ornament, and his eyes flashed with fear and respect as he remembered that day…
Putong! “Your subject greets Her Highness,” the stoic commander said, kneeling on the floor without a second thought. Seeing their leader like this, the rest of the disciples and Sect’s people followed suit, gradually planting their knees on the floor and quietly repeating his words. Blauw Ishikyy nodded, and only the commander stood up. She then looked around a little, amazed at how it was the same as with her Empire’s Carriers and asked. “They say you weren’t from the core eastern Regions… so not from the sea. Since when do outside Regions have this quality of navy?”
“We do not.” The stoic commander shook his head. “It was only after Sir Heian Ciemnosc’s arrival that we were inclined to prepare for the future. Royal princess, we must aid your people. This time, the enemy is a ruler from the north from here. They are a peak Second Step organization in the middle levels, but they are enough to obliterate any Second Step organization not at the same level, let alone weaker.”
“Let’s.” Blauw Ishikyy nodded and turned to look at her people. They relaxed as she reported her situation to the First Admiral. However, her communications failed, and she turned to look at the commander, who looked ready to explain. “I’m afraid you should wait a few minutes until my Fighters have finished their job. I will cancel the array formation’s anti-surveillance and communications field then.”
“Ah,” Blauw Ishikyy turned to look at the sea where the enemy Fleets sank and noticed the Carrier’s Fighters were flying low and mercilessly firing into the water at times. She returned her brightest eyes to the commander and lovingly praised her personal Imperial Teacher. Her teacher really did know how to pick the best subjects for her home~.
… Time passed, and the Door’s Expiring Breath Sect’s Fleet rapidly advanced after cleaning the leftovers. To no one’s surprise, the enemy and fortified islands alike were bluntly startled to see only 1 Fleet moving towards them. The enemy felt strange since communications weren’t being responded to, and their time seemed delayed for 10 minutes. When they noticed something, it was too late, and the Sect’s Fleet opened fire towards their rear, where the enemy’s 3 Fleets’ Carriers and Supreme Battleships were vulnerable.
Blauw Ishikyy returned to the skies, and with those Fighters who could accompany her, nearly 200 others, she reignited the Empire’s soldier units’ morale when they saw the Ornament return. In cheers and with a new ally presenting themselves, the battle followed a chain reaction of the ‘ally’ Fleet destroying Carrier after Carrier and Battleship after Battleship. The enemy was far too preoccupied to take the fortified islands’ shields down to have prepared for an ‘impossible’ ambush. And just when they wanted to fight back…
“... Here, Second Admiral! I, Third Admiral, Fourth Admiral, and Fifth Admiral, have come to your rescue! Let those Frigates out. We’ll protect them!!” The Second Admiral’s voice sounding in everyone’s communications channels, including the enemy’s, brought tremendous battling spirit to the Empire. The fortified islands’ restless Frigates and a few Destroyers immediately set off. The former started evaporating the enemy Frigates and Destroyers, while the fortified islands’ Destroyers protected them from missiles and attracted some firepower to themselves. Even the half-a- Fourth fleet was present, incomplete in terms of numbers, but with a full arsenal.
BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOOOOOOOOOM! BOOOOOOOOOOOM! BANG BANG BANG!...
Thus, with the Sect’s Fleet at their disposal, the Blauw Empire’s navy made a short number of the enemy Fleets. By then, the enemy understood their reinforcements were intercepted, and their plans for even survival were negligible. Their warships turned around, and their Carriers were protected to the utmost, but with those massive ammunition storages the Supreme Battleships held, more extensive than the Empire’s Low class Battleships, and exploding one after another, the enemy Carriers were collaterally damaged once and twice.
The enemy Fighters were basically defeated, with many fleeing for dear life, while the enemy’s navy only continued to sink. However, suddenly, the remaining enemy Carrier managed to turn around successfully. Then, to everyone’s shock, array formation inscriptions filled its immediate, few hundred meters surroundings, making the already big enough warship look grander. A few seconds later, just as half its structure was blown up and their weaponry nearly fully null, the remaining half zoomed in the distance in under a second, appearing hundreds of kilometers away.
Pshiiiift~, pshiiiiift~, pshiiiift~! VAWUUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuunnnngghh~! SPLAAASSHHH~!!!
“... Dammit!” As the water, everywhere around the fleeing half-a Carrier rushed the fuck away and outwards from its position prior to the array formation’s activation, the Empire’s fleets became enshrouded in disorder. They clashed against one another, and even as their training allowed them to respond in time and avoid casualties or severe damage, some warships still suffered from the constant, various collisions from nowhere.
The water raged and rapidly drowned the flaming warship debris, but the Empire’s Fighters in the air became more sober as they watched their Empire warships disarrayed. Then, Blauw Ishikyy issued an order… before notifying the Admirals. “Everyone, return to the fortified islands! The war will be over soon! Admirals, I am going to finish this fight. My Ornament has enough arsenal for it. Don’t send anyone to accompany me! Only to pick me back up!”
“What?! Royal princess, do no-... wait… pick her up? What is she… ahg, no!” The other Admirals were dumbfounded, while the Second Admiral shook her head and lightly facepalmed her face down. However, the First Admiral tried stopping her. Yet, as he saw the Ornament zoom in the same direction as the cowardly enemy Carrier, his mind clicked, and he immediately wanted to send even the foot soldier units into the sea! However, his mind was suddenly spoken to by a mighty force.
“I will take care of her. Return these to my Empire’s territory to begin integration processes. Press against spreading the news of a Region becoming our enemy,” the voice said, and the First Admiral felt a hand touch his right shoulder, paralyzing him. When he recomposed and knew who that person was, the entire Empire’s soldier units nearby were clamoring in cries and cheers.
“We’ve won! We’ve wooon!” - “Our Region is finally ours again! Haha, we won!” - “Long live Her Majesty! Long live Her Highness!” - “Long live!!!” - “For the Empire!” - “For the Empire!!!” - “Wuuuuauwuauuawuuwuuuuuuh!” - “Wuaaaaahuuu!” - “Wawooooo!!” - “Long live the assig…”
… More than a hundred kilometers into the sea, with a rapidly fleeing Carrier whose repairing teams were working for their dear lives, and their commander could barely stand up to preside over their escape. Some cultivators aboard suddenly looked up and saw not a Fighter but bullets falling on their faces. That was the last thing they remembered as their half-a-Carrier became riddled with holes, and their bodies became bloody explosions on the deck.
Ta rararararararara! Pfiuh, pfiuh! Bang! Boom, boom, boom~! Pum! Pum! Pum!
“It’s you!” The commander looked up and, knowing his Carrier no longer had any defensive measures, he raised his left hand as his nostrils bled profusely. Blauw Ishikyy suddenly felt the Ornament shrinking, and her eyes widened. However, all she could do before she was taken backwards by the royal guards waiting for something like this to finally happen was to program the Ornament to the enemy Carrier’s remaining structure’s core, so it could at least land somewhere nice in case it was destroyed.
Pshiiift-! BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!! Whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiisssssssstleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~!...
The Ornament started shrinking like a civilian’s unprepared submarine deep in the water, threatening to collapse but somehow resisting. When she saw it become as small as her Small City’s residence bathroom. Her eyes widened. But she was thrown into a smallish cabin where another dozen could fit. However, the royal guards closed the lid, and before she knew it, just as her Spirit Sense, still connected to the Ornament, felt its last few missiles and artillery guns becoming chaotic, she heard as if tough objects landed everywhere around the cabin she was thrown in.
Blauw Ishikyy didn’t know, but her royal guards denied survival as they expended every ounce of blood essence while using their Mortal tridents to impale their shoulders towards each other and form several rings around the cabin. Their Neutral Energy came out to form several layers around the sole cabin, and just as they manually separated it from the Ornament, everything went off.
Wheeesh- futomp! ‘No…’ Just in time, Blauw Shuna arrived to see her daughter’s royal guards obliterated to smithereens after the protective layers were destroyed one after the other after the enemy Carrier’s half-structure shot an energy beam from within. The Ornament created a tremendous explosion, but its structure remained half-intact as it crashed down on the Carrier. Meanwhile, the shelter the royal guards protected to the last moment they could feel, as losing all their blood essence was a newly trained method. Otherwise, unconscious cultivators could not keep draining their blood essence.
However, it was still struck by the first explosion and was further affected after the Ornament landed on the enemy Carrier’s half-structure and detonated again. This time, more extensively around the zone. She watched as the shelter became on fire, even after it rapidly sunk into the water and traveled several ten kilometers per second. Shuna looked at its pathway, then towards the west, as her eyebrows furrowed, and returned to face her daughter’s distancing shelter with a simple thought in her mind before surrounding her body in azure, aquamarine energy and shooting in her daughter’s direction. ‘Dammit!’
