Chapter 420 — Coursing To The Overlords' Event

Coursing To The Overlords' Event

The next day, in Heian Ciemnosc's club headquarters bedroom.

Rustle, flop- pap. Elena turned around under the bedsheets to face Heian Ciemnosc's side. Her head ended on his right shoulder, and her left ear fell on his forehead. She nibbled her right thumb as it rested on his sternum, like a baby that was just too comfortable. Last night, she was the world's queen, and he was just her perfect husband, nothing more. Now, as daylight seeped into their bedroom through array formations, she looked exclusively perfect in his darkest eyes.

As she turned around, his pale red lips formed a thin smile, but Elena continued to sleep comfortably. Slowly, Heian Ciemnosc moved his hands to hold her soft waist, yet firm with her slightly more defined muscles. Dragging her into the air, she only woke up when Heian Ciemnosc placed her body to straddle his pelvis. She looked down at him, slightly confused but fully woken up, the merriment from waking up with her head beside his taken away.

“What is it now?” Frowning, Elena the Queen asked, unfulfilled. Heian Ciemnosc smiled proudly, seeing her like this despite being so warm and pliant to his every move. Heian Ciemnosc hugged her lower back and forced her down, her flat chest against his slightly defined, pale pecs. With a hoarse voice that turned her eyes hazy and tremble, he spoke to her face, “I want you to come visit my Master. I have to see her to tell her something.”

“...” Elena blushed instantly. Her brown eyes woke up and darted left and right as she lowered her body and placed her right ear on his left chest. Hearing nothing but the intricate beats only her instincts could listen to due to their relationship and connection, Elena nodded many times, worried he would not understand her intentions. Of course he would. How could his perverted Spirit Sense not be capable of that?

“We can spend another 15 minutes like this. I want to smell your scent more,” Heian Ciemnosc creepily said. But Elena’s heart beat heavily and then quickly upon hearing those words. Cutely, she slid to his right and lay on the bed again. She slowly cuddled to him and became an obedient wife who adored hearing his breathing motions, from his lungs to his nostrils or out of his lips. She analyzed and recorded everything in her little mind.

… Late on, 30 minutes later. In Lady Calisneia’s abode, Heian Ciemnosc stood in front of his Master’s bedroom. She was meditating, and without saying anything, Heian Ciemnosc wanted her to accept them. He knew Lady Calisneia was already aware of their presence. How could she not? He just wanted his wife to meet his Master officially. He was a little bit excited, admittedly.

“You may enter,” suddenly, a bell-like and comforting voice sounded. It surprised Heian Ciemnosc, and it amazed Elena. One thought his Master was cutting him some slack, and the other thought merrily, ‘Her Excellency’s voice is so genial, awesome!’

“Yes, Master,” Heian Ciemnosc responded and opened the door. Elena followed right behind him with little steps as Heian Ciemnosc stepped in and looked at his Master’s bed. She was sitting on its edge, facing the door, her cloak taken down, exposing her aged features. Heian Ciemnosc grinned a little before hurrying Elena inside by grabbing her right wrist and cruelly pulling her along.

Step- tap- step step step. Stopping 2 meters before Lady Calisneia’s bed, Elena looked at this legendary figure and dropped her eyes, her nervousness striking. But then, the former’s voice sounded. Elena’s eyes went wide open as she lifted her chin. “Why do you stay so far behind? Come closer. How can I look at my disciple’s wife otherwise? I need to see if you’re really worth it, or I’ll have a talk with that little girl.”

Naturally, Elena became full of fighting spirit as she bravely stepped forth until she came at a hand’s reach for the old, legendary lady in front. As for the ‘little girl’ Heian Ciemnosc’s Master mentioned, who else could that be but Alyona? Having been well accepted by Alyona, Elena felt challenged and even forgot who she was facing. Lady Calisneia didn’t mind one bit and raised her right hand to touch Elena’s left cheek.

Elena woke up, and her eyes widened, shocked at her boldness, but it was already too late to apologize. Lady Calisneia maintained this pose for 3 seconds before slowly retracting her arm. She patted the right side of her bedroom and gently said as if talking to her daughter. “Come here, let’s chat a bit. Little Heian Ciemnosc will go out and meditate. I would like to show you a few things.”

Heian Ciemnosc lightly grinned and didn’t even bother saying anything. He bowed and turned around, exiting the room as a shaky Elena looked between his departed back and his Master’s face. Heian Ciemnosc knew this wasn’t a girl’s talk, but Lady Calisneia was mentoring Elena. Elena might have the Academy’s pride as her master, but Lady Calisneia was the Academy’s grandest figure. Nothing could overlap her even in this Existence, and who knew what else.

Elena was talked about between Heian Ciemnosc and his Master a few times, and each time, Elena’s position was discussed by his Master as if she was already the new headmaster. What else could his Master be doing right now than to guide her in what she lacked the most? Mainly the Soul and Craftsmaking. But receiving mentorship from Lady Calisneia was unique, not just in the Wrath Nihility Academy, but the world…

… When Heian Ciemnosc returned, by his Master’s orders, Elena was kneeling before his Master as the latter continued to sit on the edge of the bed. Heian Ciemnosc walked in and silently knelt beside his wife. Lady Calisneia looked at them and directed her words and gaze towards him as Elena quietly meditated. “Did your Spirit Sense improve after just 1 day of training?”

Seeing his Master frowning, Heian Ciemnosc’s eyes casually opened a little further and nodded. “It had reached a 2,000 km range now. I feel my path stabilizing another portion. It’s like I’m cultivating through stages… but with my Soul.”

“Mn, continue doing so,” Lady Calisneia nodded and offered no more words. She looked at Elena, who smoothly and slowly opened her eyes and spoke to her. “Let me see your Destructive Wind of Darkness.”

“Mn,” Elena was feeling hella excited inside as she took out her halberd and let Her Excellency have a look at it. Elena felt a never-so-strong Spirit Sense and strange energy wash over her halberd as Lady Calisneia held it and scanned it with her pale, dimmed-out golden eyes. Heian Ciemnosc looked at his Master attentively as well, hoping he didn’t miss anything. After a while, she returned the halberd to Elena’s hands and calmly spoke deeply.

“There’s nothing in this halberd that is harmful to either of you, only whoever dares to oppose you with it. Use the method I taught you to form a pact with it. If nothing comes out wrong, it’ll develop a unique Semi-Soul in the future. Learn to summon it wherever you both are so it won’t be stolen. Other than that, keep training your known halberd Arts, don’t search for more. Even an Art can stand off against a Divine Art at the same level. Don’t fret.”

“Yes, Your Excellence,” Elena bowed her head and answered. But Lady Calisneia added with a serious touch. “You are not allowed to leave this Existence. I can temporarily protect you, and the Academy’s grand array formation can rescue you. But it won’t be possible if you’re away from this Existence. Understand?”

Lady Calisneia’s words were cold and indifferent. Elena had to gulp before meekly nodding her head, looking up at this legendary figure with silent gratefulness. Lady Calisneia looked at the two of them and spoke. “From now on, Little Heian Ciemnosc, I want you to device an Art so you can connect with items such as these where you used too much of yourself to create or enhance. It will be useful in the future. If you manage to master it.”

“Yes, Master,” Heian Ciemnosc nodded and acquiesced. Then, in front of his Master, he faced Elena and started employing his Soul methods under Elena’s analyzing gaze for half an hour before deciding to leave. When his Master watched them go, he and Elena were unaware of a downcast sigh sounding from his Master’s bedroom.

… Days went by fast. Heian Ciemnosc spent the rest of the week training 16/7 with his COs. Because of the rupture of his breakthrough in cultivation, Heian Ciemnosc had to amend that damage as soon as possible. Thus, he was cruel to his COs. He didn’t let them gang up against him and had them duel him one on one. Of course, they had to break into the Second Step first. Which was Heian Ciemnosc’s number one objective before starting to use his people as dummies.

Heian Ciemnosc preceded their breakthrough from beginning to end. With a vitality array formation he bought with a couple hundred merit points, Heian Ciemnosc set another few smaller array formations in between, turning the court into a fantastic land of cultivation. His COs were pampered to no end as they started gathering enough pure energy into Power Energy to begin the breakthrough into another Step. Their minds were fully set on their past events and experiences as they slowly entered a meditative state.

Heian Ciemnosc could see how a light, thin fabric made in combination with their Power Energy and the world’s pure energy formed around their cross-legged figures on the ground. At one point, they simply levitated half a meter up, and the thin fabric started condensing everywhere inside, including within their skin and bones. When it happened, Heian Ciemnosc didn’t stop employing his dual cultivation method with them through all the array formations. In this way, the otherwise ‘broken’ vitality array formation of a lacking golden color turned dark, but so did the resources placed around the smaller array formations and their inscriptions.

Slowly, a darkish, feeble fluctuation emanated everywhere. It was no mistake or sudden change. The array formations were following Heian Ciemnosc’s dark Soul’s intentions. As Heian Ciemnosc employed his dual cultivation method, his dark Soul added efficiency and utility to the already marvelous innate Supreme Art’s ‘extra’ feature.

When the COs became enshrouded in cocoons, Heian Ciemnosc constantly went over to touch their sheath and transmitted some dark Power Energy into them. After his breakthrough, his dark Power Energy remained the same as before, except for the mandatory increase in quantity and quality which came with each advancement. Since he didn’t have an actual Spirit Image, like others, Heian Ciemnosc was his own Spirit Image, so to speak.

Thus, instead of drawing power from the Spirit Image like any other cultivator in the Spirit Rebirth realm until it evolved into a Spirit Aspect, Heian Ciemnosc drew the enhancement to everything from the deepest parts of himself. His Dantian and Neutrality Links were as absolute as always. But he started to feel a certain shakiness outside his rupture with nature from his breakthrough. It was more like a foreshadowing of what he had to do later in his path.

Heian Ciemnosc put those thoughts aside and helped maintain the stability and efficiency in his COs’ breakthrough until the cocoon broke apart. It took long hours before they finally became Second Step cultivators! There was multiple commotion within the Saberbone Diabolical Club headquarters. But it was well kept as it wasn’t the first time a small team broke into the Second Step at the same time in its history.

Once they awakened after breaking through so rapidly but without secondary effects, and Heian Ciemnosc went 2 rounds with Sakura, he left and returned to Elena. Thus, from the next day forward, Heian Ciemnosc sparred with each of his COs daily, beating the crap out of each of them but keeping his battle prowess at the Broken Crystallization realm’s 1st stage so they could ‘quickly’ adapt and take more hits in under an hour of being beaten down.

At the end of the day, he would finally let them have their revenge after the last CO to duel him meditated for an hour. Only Gloria looked from the side as Heian Ciemnosc was besieged by the 7 COs and forced to go all-out without using his innate Soul Supreme Art.

Heian Ciemnosc didn’t know if the Academy would qualify it as such as it did with his [All-Devouring Force Chronicles. But since they took his dark dome as part of his first innate Supreme Art, they should be at the same level. Heian Ciemnosc was still far too inexperienced in dealing with other Arts. For now, he could barely tell a theoretical difference between an Art and a Supreme Art.

Heian Ciemnosc and his COs worked hard to stabilize their cultivation base. Once the COs stabilized to Heian Ciemnosc’s standards, still below his personal goals, they began solidifying their foundation. On the other hand, Heian Ciemnosc was still in the hurdle of stabilizing his path. It was far too challenging to amend the rupture of nature he caused with such an impossible breakthrough.

Amidst their sparring sessions, Heian Ciemnosc explained to them that after the Wrath Nihility Academy’s showdown in the Sanz Upper Kingdom, the Overlords event’s hosts decided to grant the bullied Academy a few more steps and more freedom in their choosing. Thus, Heian Ciemnosc was allowed to bring his 10 other people. He planned on bringing his 8 COs, Elena and Arla, since they were still in the initial stages of the Broken Crystallization realm or close to it.

Frank was already in the Neutrality realm and was above what the limitations for this event - were. Thus, Heian Ciemnosc could painfully only bring his girlfriend far away from him where she might know more handsome and more hung guys. Oh well. Nobody could beat Arla’s taste for dick better than Heian Ciemnosc anyway.

When the last day of the week came, and the vessel to pick up the group selected to attend the event arrived, Heian Ciemnosc’s stabilization of his path was still halfway there. His Spirit Sense had grown to a 7,000 km range, and he could already go through any First Step fortification anti-Spirit Sense even when it was at the utmost extreme of its scope. No concealment array formation or anti-Spirit Sense device worked on him, even when he sent a weakened strand through the air. As long as he lightly touched it, it would become visible to his senses.

… On this day, tens of millions of students gathered near the Academy’s territory’s Army Building. The vessel prepared to send these students to the event had already moored in one of its underground garages, which had opened its hatch to the sky. Now, this ‘vessel’ was seen by several billions of pairs of eyes everywhere in the Blackotia Kingdom. Many transmissions started since the night of the day before.

At this moment, the number of participants from the Wrath Nihility Academy went from a couple dozen to several dozen people walking to the… Frigate! Indeed, after noticing the importance the other Fourth Step overlords had over the Academy after the Sanz Upper Kingdom incident, they weren’t tingy even as the fruits from becoming an overlord were still to come, constructed a new Frigate in space before letting this group of students experience its first voyage.

After several days of training, the Concealed Ornament Team’s Concealed Ornaments were unavoidably the weakest team regarding cultivation base. Especially since they incorporated Elena into their ranks for this event. Only Arla seemed worthy of attending the event from their CO Team. Of course, only the CO Team knew Heian Ciemnosc was already, arguably, stronger or equal to Arla. But only Heian Ciemnosc knew it was the latter, as she had already broken into the 5th stage.

Gloria had reached the Obsidiafying realm 4th stage already, benefitting greatly from cultivating together with her team leader. Only understanding thoughts were exchanged between them after so long. Heian Ciemnosc made an extra Colorful Claw for Arla, an Artifact. As for the rest of the COs, they already had theirs by the time their 7-day training in the Academy finished. Now, everyone, including Elena and Gloria, had an Artifact to protect them and help kill their enemies more devastatingly.

Needless to say, even after they were paid the maximum of 200 merit points because of the danger they were suddenly in at the Sanz Kingdom and Greg’s betrayal, which ended with some of the students in the group dying, adding another 500 merit points. Heian Ciemnosc’s merit points were lowered to less than 2,000 from the 13,000 he had after gaining those merit points. It was exhaustive to be a talented Craftsperson. However, Heian Ciemnosc knew he could fill his pockets in the following years after he entered other clubs…

For now, all Heian Ciemnosc was busying his clever head with was the upcoming event. It would last that long. The world no longer welcomed occasional events taking years to end, which would take too much time and be boring and disadvantageous for lower cultivators who wanted to support their organization but still needed to develop. Thus, at most, this event would take 3 months, and that was if it came to worst.

Nothing else was known about the event besides that it would be transmitted throughout the Existence from beginning to end. Only its official name was known to everyone in the Existence, and it wasn’t just any name. Still, this Existence wasn’t the only one sponsoring their might and fame in this way. Any other overlord organization in their Kingdom wanted to be seen as the right one for anyone, especially Gifted for Chosens.

Its name was simple and was called the Change Merit Trials. Indeed, it showcased the relevance of a person who could take part in this new Change, still unknown and awaiting its protagonists. However, it also expressed its intention to find, among many, those who could become these powerhouses for the still undefined Change.

The trip to the Middle Space Structure would take the Frigate another week. Heian Ciemnosc had to do all he could to fully stabilize his path and start solidifying it. He could’ve just gone to the Crimsonbreaking Carrier and dual cultivate with his wives to quickly gain results, but he wouldn’t go to his wives just to use their bodies. He wasn’t like that. It would be an insult for everyone and humiliating.

Thus, once again, Heian Ciemnosc decided to cruelly beat these COs day and night during the 2nd week of intense training. He wasn’t lenient towards Sakura, nor did she want to have it easier. Besides, she was comforted during breaks whenever she joined Elena and Arla. Most might think Heian Ciemnosc was living like a king, but for him, having Arla as his sexual free-use skank, Sakura as his naughty partner, and his wife Elena to dual cultivate was just another cultivation period every 25 hours that helped everyone a little bit more.

Of course, the pleasure was crazy, but he always insisted on being continuous and arduous in their times together, mainly to have everyone advance and progress more stably. Even then, this mindset didn’t take away the intimate and passionate notions from their acts. Besides, Heian Ciemnosc was pretty meticulous when it came to dual cultivating like savage animals. Especially when they thought they could gang upon him. He was a man, after all.

Let It Rain's Notes: So, I was actually planning to write the spooky spooky spooky little arc and end in before the 12th chapter. Yup, look where we are at now. This next overlord event's little arc will take more or less the same... I just hope to get to what the Volume is about before ending the 100 chapters Q_Q!
