Chapter 55 — Mastering It All

Mastering It All

Esplendo's 'Redecorating an Entirely Lost Heart' scriptures then were similar to how Calisneia described in the way of understanding herbs and plants and of how to distinguish one from being a type of such to another. But his scriptures were also more like an encyclopedia, and the combination, mix, counter, and enhancement that they all had against and with each other were already written there.

The best part though, was that despite these scriptures being all knowledge, information, and no images nor Esplendo's extra personal thoughts with only some personal thoughts and comments here and there to solidify the scriptures' shortcomings of being just text, they weren't 'overbearing' like other books and perfectly accepted the findings and discovery of other mixes that weren't found before Esplendo might've been eaten or something.

In retrospective, though the ‘Mirror of Equinox’ talked all about how to start becoming a very good plants and herbs’ knowledgeable individual, it was focused on alchemy nonetheless, though there seemed to be lost information about alchemy in that regard…which Ciemnosc could only shake his head at certain ancestors’ total carelessness, it was still something very unique never seen before in any other book that Ciemnosc had picked or seen before from the libraries.

And hearing how the Self-Mutilating Honores Sect had been thirsty for knowledge… in the sense of killing it whenever it occurred. It gave Ciemnosc some real pressure. And also began understanding that he was alive, still thanks to Grand Elder, and now due to his seemingly unique knowledge about unknown, mysterious, deadly a horrifying matters plaguing around the world.

But of course that Ciemnosc wouldn’t want to be seen through scriptures such as these and even less as the ghost boy who managed to decipher afterlife matters and then whose death is completely unknown yet it is understood to have died within the sect…

Ciemnosc then had a lot of interaction with the ‘Redecorating an Entirely Lost Heart’ scriptures, reading and without even needing to confirm where he had written about such plants or herbs, he would write down either confirmation, errors, or doubts left to solve with the comparison of his own notes to that of these scriptures.

Before elder Apegos could know it, a little boy directly read through things he took weeks to reach the half of it in just a morning and half a noon; not only that as the monstrous little boy even took and compared ‘notes’ here and there nonstop, sometimes shaking his head as if he was either scolding some ancestors or the author of the scriptures.

In the end, 2 scriptures were read through just like this. And this was just a couple of them all, while there were more than a dozen left, and some were much thicker while others that were thinner contained the most complicated of information and methodology, and even just one of their author’s thoughts is enough to make a great master of many things like elder Apegos to heavily ponder about to just start deciphering its meaning or so.

Elder Apegos could only leave the kid to his own before taking his leave as he explained the next one, letting the boy know that as soon as he finished reading them. He could call him over with the Identification Token to explain the next one. While he himself went back up and attended Enaro whose genius wasn’t small but compared to Ciemnosc, he is very small and thin indeed.

Over the next few days, when it was early morning, morning, noon, afternoon, and evening, Ciemnosc spent his entire time in the basement of the mountain-rock building. Counting the first one, it took Ciemnosc a total of 4 days to read through it all. But he was just glad that he didn’t have to wait a whole half a week and a bit more before he could come to study and learn.

On the other hand, during the night all the way up to the early morning, Ciemnosc would read his own books, sometimes with his new partner in book reading, Valeria, who began to feel more and more at ease every day and from which she resumed her own cultivation with a bit more of spirit and excitement which also grew every few days as well; too.

Sometimes, Valeria would stay, and they would have a nude sleepover with Ciemnosc’s body growing larger while she would drive him all the way to study and back to his bedroom. When Ciemnosc finished reading the scriptures. He naturally took the very same amount of time to not just learn more knowledge and more unique little pieces of such from elder Apegos but also put everything he knew into practice.

Meanwhile, though Valeria was nowhere near sleepless as Ciemnosc despite her much greater cultivation base and age, she spent quite some hours with him before she ultimately fell asleep and a bothered Ciemnosc of being taken away from reading his book even if just by 20 minutes would carry her all the way back under his bedroom’s blankets before continuing his murdering of books.

Sometimes though, he would at least lay in bed with her and take a few minutes of a break before she woke up, her sleeping schedule already taken by the innocent Ciemnosc, who would mostly wake up clothed, together, with her and then start their day as if they were both a married couple and siblings at the same time.

Ciemnosc, on the other hand, began to learn the methodology, ideology, practice, and ‘heart’ of creating things with alchemy; more specifically, he began with making simple pills. These would simply be the most basic pills that even apprentices in alchemy could understand how to make them to the letter. But Ciemnosc spent hours and hours making them even when he was already successful and used the very same ingredients.

Like before, Ciemnosc wouldn’t just take them in his hands and toss them into a cauldron. He first went through each of them first with his hands to feel them out, gently and even probingly to see how they reacted and felt even. Afterwards, with his Spirit Sense reading such valuable experiences for the future and so that he wouldn’t have to be using his hands all the time and in such a slow method to all the plants and herbs that he already knew of.

The first pills he created were mere antidotes. This pill wasn’t really an antidote though it worked as one. But only for a limited amount of time, and it is even less efficient than a real temporary antidote pill which would serve for the sake of buying more time or blackmailing for a longer time any individual who had been subjected to poison or venom of most basic kinds.

It wasn’t like poison or venom was that powerful anyway. As cultivators, such things were becoming less and less important the more one cultivated and the more one advanced in obtaining better battle experience. At most, it was to be used for either dealing with rebelling ordinary ‘mortals’ or for wars from before where Spiritual Ligament Realm and Spiritual Condensation Realm cultivators of any major organizations were to engage in an all out war.

Even so, these kinds of temporary, smallish antidote pills were pretty useful for any situation where one got inflicted with poison or venom, as long as it wasn’t something crazy like Elemental poisoning - venom and so on. Naturally, there were similar ones to these, but for the sake of poisoning others, and if taking those, though it was unlikely to die from them, they would be quite deciding over a battle’s outcome. Those were the hardest to make though, even if they were the most basic ones among the ‘medical’ branch of pill concocting in alchemy.

Hence, they were then all sold off to the Plants and Herbs Hall via elder Apegos since Ciemnosc no longer visited any alchemy branch building or store to try his alchemy in there, relying on the even better items such as a cauldron, stove, and arrays to further enhance such fire and even ‘control’ it to one’s desire in the basement below the small study.

Even as Ciemnosc finished reading the scriptures and began knowing more of all creation from all Craftspeople, Enaro was still stuck up above at the small study room creating his first Synergized Equatrend Mobilizer. Though he wasn’t close to finishing even one, there was at least progress every day that he tried. He was elder Apegos’s second student after all.

Besides, only 300 years old or higher old fogeys close to the end of their lives are the ones capable of creating these items outside of the sect, and its organization’s territory. From which even the Self-Mutilating Honores Sect had to start buying from the outside due to a lack of Craftspeople among their own sect, but to which not a single change was being made. It really was as if they didn’t care about the progress of such within the sect and even wanted to halt it.

But after dealing with these ones, Ciemnosc would put aside alchemy, mostly, and go on to practice with the next vocation; Creature rearing and experimentation. With his now seemingly endless amount of Inferior Powerful Stones, Ciemnosc literally bought half the market of Creatures ranging from the Spiritual Ligament Realm to even the Link Consolidation Realm.

This was going to obviously attract too much attention, so it was elder Apegos to go and do the payment as well as the one to bring all of these to the basement under the small study of the mountain rock. It was specifically so whenever Enaro wasn’t around, batches of such would come into the mountain -rock, for as elder Apegos didn’t have that many Covert Space bags to spare and he didn’t want to dirt his own. While Ciemnosc’s Covert Space bags were already full of many, many other things.

As for why Ciemnosc asked him to buy Link Consolidation Realm Creatures. Elder Apegos considered it was due to the boy being so close to breaking through to the next realm, so he was maybe hoping he’d discover something else to help him with it.

On the other hand, Ciemnosc, who was already halfway into the Phrenic Realm and making his way to the same realm as his teacher’s, experimented even more freely and without having any scruples of some being cute and others of having babies in their tummies - all unfortunately dead. He simply experimented and experimented, went through every single vein of these Creatures, and with the new things he’s just learned, he furthermore enhanced his already ‘wide enough’ knowledge of Creatures.

Then came the smithing vocation for both armory, weaponry, and tools-making. Putting aside the alchemy and Creatures’ experimentation, giving each a time of their own but much less than the newest activity at hand Ciemnosc resumed his evolution in learning how to forge top notch weapons and equipment!

The equipment was easiest to make into a top notch quality piece, but it was still not possible for Ciemnosc to create whole sets of armor, at least not those that involved the use of a forge to do it, which meant that the most basic of leather, hide and cloth armor was all that Ciemnosc could do a full set from. That would naturally be bad if he didn’t know array formation.

But in any case, Ciemnosc’s first goal was to make several hundred pieces of top notch equipment. He used steel and was a rather ordinary type, which he completed in just 2 days, with 1 of those 2 days used to get used to creating such equipment and the 2nd day to really do as many as hundreds of them.

With the teachings from elder Apegos before and these days, if Ciemnosc didn’t know how to make top notch pieces of armor by now he would then be a complete idiot, especially so considering his very own thirst for knowledge, creating and exerting himself to become the very, very best. He had to in any case.

And so, Ciemnosc’s second goal was that of forging top notch weapons - daggers, swords, blades, polearms, arrows, throwable weapons, and even bullets. As long as he was able to make top notch quality of these, he would deem himself as having achieved his goal.

He had to, of course, make many of them each and they were a goddamn lot. Axes were somewhat easier to make, as the most incurring problem in the forging and creation of one was to give it a great, well corresponding shaft and handle for its wielder to grab at.

But Ciemnosc didn’t take that much time, even though he wasn’t a master of all weapons, nor was he remotely interested in becoming like so, with his own experience and ideas that had been growing ever since he created his very own stances; low stance and straight stance. He was able to create the fitting and possibly best options for each of his creations, hence facilitating his time in creating several tens of top notch quality weapons of all kinds in just 3 days or so; as weaponry was notoriously much harder to make more one advanced in cultivation or technology itself.

Then, for the tool-making, Ciemnosc already had quite some experience with elder Apegos’s teachings, all Ciemnosc had to do now was to make those tools, and with the basement having all that he needed, and if not then his teacher could just buy them for him - Ciemnosc began making tools of the simplest category only according to what he knew of them and how they worked.

With such little knowledge and basically no manual nor guidance as he didn’t ask his teacher, nor did his teacher ask him if he needed help, Ciemnosc created endless amounts of tools for crafting, assembling, and even inscribing array formations!

There was no such thing as a quality and even less so for rating, but each tool, no matter its type, had to go through several experimentation tests to ensure they would work perfectly fine and that their life expectancy was at least 10 years old. But for Ciemnosc, they had to be perfectly solid and perfectly permeable. And their life expectancy of at least 25 years before he could declare them as successful items made from his very own growing hands.

And only after Ciemnosc made from dozens to several thousands of each type, depending on their utility and of how much they can be used by various projects or just simply once, did Ciemnosc give himself a little star on his forehead regarding the smithing vocation matters.

What was next was crafting; a thing which he had even more valuable experience from. And also one that was even capable of involving every single other vocation in the seemingly universal art of crafting as a Craftsman.

If the Synergized Equatrend Mobilizer were basically the apex of all the most advanced technology in the world, even though one needed the inscription of an array at the end of it all for it to even work in the first place. Then the most simple things at the moment of crafting anything were the basics and foundations that a Synergized Equatrend Mobilizer needed to be useful even. Which was exactly what Ciemnosc lacked at these moments.

At most, Ciemnosc could dismantle an entire car for a squad used in the sect, but he couldn’t build even the most simple, contaminating, and cheapest of all vehicles, let alone create one that was opt to be armored somehow - anyhow.

Hence, the very first thing that Ciemnosc got little old him to do was to learn how to do cars, how to do some engines— of all kinds —, how to understand the most simple things about engineering and the difference between ordinary vehicles and armored ones - especially for those that had armor built all around itself and were still as fast and nimble as any other ordinary car focusing in maneuverability and stability at the time of driving - but Ciemnosc still did not like driving.

In any case, knowing ground vehicles was just one thing and it was just the start of it all, Ciemnosc still had to go through this… he wasn’t just going to make money building these things, crafting all of their compartments and then assembling them all together and selling them to any company or business; nor was he going to just help the sect build some more of these.

He was planning for much more, in a way that he could only be seen as extremely important and that these old, fools conservatives wouldn’t kill him or get rid of him anyhow once it was known how much he has progressed in becoming such an allrounder Craftsperson and nowhere as slow as he should.

For the items sold to the stores and business, Ciemnosc of course gave a large chunk of 30% to his teacher since it was the boy using his own money and using his teacher for this was just for the sake of hiding his doings - which both of them agreed upon. The boy needed no funding from anyone or anywhere, so he was at ease even when he experimented on ‘random’ stuff and failed one after another to quickly create what was in his mind or discover something new instead.

But then… then came the actual array formation sessions. This time, elder Apegos was aiding his student at all times, so much so that Enaro felt the absence of also his teacher as well but was still too busy dealing with his small matters. Elder Apegos showed his great support to none other than his monstrous little genius. Ciemnosc could of course understand it and he was glad as well.

It was a simple beginning of Ciemnosc further making his way into the vocation of array formations, his previous excitement and intrigue for new things had long been subsided, and he was extremely calm by the time he had his other vocations already organized with each being given very little time to keep on studying and learning and gaining experience even more.

Later on, once his short term goals for array formations were also achieved, he would organize it all into a day where he would have a little time for everything, which was in truth not that little, but that was at least the only way for him to advance further in each of his passions.

Hence, Ciemnosc began learning array formations outside the box of the most basic and even somewhat fundamental of them all. And began ‘unboxing’, with his teacher, the ‘box’ labeled as ‘elementary’.
