Chapter 149 — Silent Goodbye

Silent Goodbye

... Boom, Bam, Ka-Booooom!...

Ciemnosc was still not clear-headed as he tried standing up. The medicinal pill that had already gone down his throat and delivered its medicinal properties to his dantian and then flowed all around his body began to assault his injuries but with a healing effect that was almost comparable to his own regeneration passively but also by actively amending the broken pieces of his skeleton while also giving his body some little bit of clarity as he slowly came to face up.

“It’s… it’s you.” Ciemnosc spoke to the Cloudless Eagle above him with a light tone. It was a very light tone compared to all the other times he had spoken during the last few days and when it was directed towards someone. Still, he couldn’t help but look at his own body and discover he basically had another set of his clothes broken apart and that he would need to fix his clothes as soon as he ever had a chance to do anything at all that wasn’t just running away to the west.

The Cloudless Eagle looked down at Ciemnosc before beginning to smoothly fall down, its eyes were naturally remembering this boy, which for some reason it seemed to have been waiting to meet again, But after looking at the Cloudless Eagle, Ciemnosc frowned as he began turning his body around, with pain tormenting the right side of his body and brain. ‘Then…’

“!...” Looking at the far distance, really, a goddamn far distance for Ciemnosc wasn’t capable of seeing the faraway battlefield even as it was himself looking and not some ‘ordinary cultivator’. All he could differentiate is that whenever there was a loud explosion going off, a bright color of orange or red would accompany it and they would actually always accompany each other.

But from this seemingly sudden battle where everyone seemed to be teaming up against a powerful, incredible enemy, Ciemnosc would see that around that huge orange or red explosion, smallish bouts of energy and explosions would be engulfed by the always bigger and greater one.

Creee! The Cloudless Eagle cried out, urging Ciemnosc to look at it as it had its wings spread and its neck and upper back lowered while facing him. Ciemnosc was moving his eyes all around its body and had conflicted eyes. But without turning his head around, he moved his body to sit atop the Cloudless Eagle, who looked now silent as he did.

“There, help me get back to my commanding vehicle,” Ciemnosc said, signaling towards his large armored car as the Cloudless Eagle was preparing to take off, but appeared sad. After what seemed to be some contemplation, the Cloudless Eagle nodded towards his words and then took off but remained at a low altitude towards Ciemnosc’s baby. It was a quick set of actions but it was still somewhat witnessed from far away as the fight seemed to have become heftier and much faster.

Creeeeee! The Cloudless Eagle chirped, really complaining about the situation, as they couldn’t play around with Obsidiafying realm 10th stage cultivators under any circumstances, it itself would just become roasted chicken legs if it was caught without its owner and let alone Ciemnosc who was its protected target.

Whoosh whoosh!

Just as Ciemnosc and Cloudless Eagle could see the fight becoming more and more disordered, and a few dots in the distance were coming closer while getting engulfed in more and more red or orange explosions, they took off with the Cloudless Eagle already having a starting speed higher than a pelican’s maximum speed. Ciemnosc held damn tight to its feathers and looked back. He could somewhat see an extraordinary sight at least… as they also came closer and closer.

“!” Ciemnosc’s eyes widened, pulling a bit hard on the Cloudless Eagle’s head feather, it looked back at him with tranquility but sadness, “They are using an array. We have to go west but don’t just go in a straight line. Lose them!”

Creee! As the Cloudless Eagle chirped, he was already diving towards the ground. The plains all around that were becoming snowy little by little began to make marks all around, leaving obvious traces of their possible paths. Though it had to go back and forth a few times here and there, it was still considerably slower than those other Cloudless Eagles, but it didn’t have a partner to rely on and augment its whole speed at once.

Little by little, the Cloudless Eagles from afar were moving quicker and quicker towards them. While red or orange explosions detained them as much as possible, there were too many. It wouldn’t be that far off to say they were between 50 to 100. and all of them within the Obsidiafying realm to boot, which Ciemnosc wasn’t sure if ‘she’ could really detain them for long.

But after creating many ‘diverse pathing’ through the plains, from a large distance of a few kilometers, the Cloudless Eagle finally stopped creating these thingies and, without any other inconvenience, it suddenly went 500 meters in the air and ‘stood still’ in the middle of it all with its belly facing the west.

“W- wow…” Ciemnosc was about to start a question with a ‘what’, but when he felt the freshness and some kind of ‘body’ behind him, he realized that those were clouds in the making! Cloudless Eagle’s back and Ciemnosc’s back were beginning to be surrounded fully by clouds, and these clouds weren’t the same as those higher up. These were some that had a mellow white tone to themselves which made them more so incredible.

It was Pure Energy within those clouds! And they were already at the 1st stage of the Obsidiafying realm!

Without probably anyone else but him and its owner knowing, another Obsidiafying realm Creature had been ‘born’, and while Ciemnosc was processing all of this, he also caught up on an incredibly unique energy that began covering them. From the tip of their talons and from the tips of their wings to the rest of their bodies as the clouds lost their uniqueness rather fast.

Wong, wong, wong~.

After not even half a minute, the clouds were now as normal as any other. And Ciemnosc felt his body enveloped by an exciting, free energy that made his clothes flutter from time to time only once before becoming still as if he was underwater. And their bodies, high in midair, slowly began to gain a property… that Ciemnosc could only describe as… unrestrained.

Chiiiiiiirrrrp~!- WHOOOSH~~~...

Suddenly, as its belly was still facing the west, the one and only Obsidiafying realm Cloudless Eagle made a diving motion, but its peak was aimed at the west still and high up at that. The moment its belly faced the ground as if turning a switch, Ciemnosc was miraculously grabbing onto its feather when he looked back and noticed too many too-clear figures and upper echelons of the 2 major organizations chasing after him with none other than ex-grand elder Jing Zhu in-between them; trying to stop anyone from coming closer to him and her Cloudless Eagle.

“...” - “...” Ciemnosc looked at her from possibly more than a few hundred kilometers, and she looked at him back in an incomprehensible way. She looked as ordinary as always. As incredibly difficult to point out among the crowd as always. But her aura and that sensation she gave him was enough to distinguish her as someone… capable, to say the least.

And much less to talk about her cultivation base, as it was unreadable for Ciemnosc as even though others were really advanced into the very peak of the Obsidiafying realm, none were directly so above it that he could tell she was in the early stages of a realm but not quite yet which realm was that one; even though he could indeed see she was at its 1st stage.

Fwuump…

Ciemnosc began to feel his body moving but not moving at the same time also almost being swept away by the laws of the world, a feeling akin to such at the very least. But even more so he could see the face that looked back at him after her eyes seemingly looked apologetically at the back of her Cloudless Eagle. Then, they looked at Ciemnosc’s face fully and made the boy think that if he ever had a grandmother, maybe this would be the way she would look at him.

Shrilalalala~...

Seeing that she was not capable of holding off dozens of Obsidiafying realm cultivators on her own, especially when some of them were at the very peak of it while the others were around the 4th stage at the very least, gramma Jing Zhu stopped altogether at once and remained in midair.

But instead of being left behind by the Obsidiafying realm cultivators lusting after Ciemnosc’s body, not in lewd ways, they also all stopped together with her as well. That was because, from within her dantian and mind, an endless set of chains burning with red and orange flames began capturing each and every single one of those around her. While another 2, huger chains took root on the ground while her whole body became pale.

The Cloudless Eagle of each cultivator around her seemed to become terrified and about to die from the feeling. While the cultivators themselves felt their bodies being pulled by their impossible to name right now, a sensation they could have never thought to feel despite the pains of breaking through the Conflagrate realm and the Obsidiafying realm.

They were capable of only looking with their wide eyes as Ciemnosc faded and faded away, no longer possible to visualize him anymore as some kind of illusory world of flames engulfed them in every way. At the same time, all of them felt as if they were now in a whole other world, one that belonged to one of them to their one and single enemy to be exact.

But they could also tell that this seeming world of hers was something not even she had a complete understanding of, and somehow felt that they still had a chance! Right now, if they all coordinate, then take her down to kill to not risk it without caring about the secrets she could reveal, they could free themselves. Only, however…

Her lips moved as Ciemnosc was about to lose track of anything going on anymore, with her whole body seemingly about to shrivel up. Her silent words were read by only him…

“Learn well, Ciemnosc. This is called… the ‘Natal Spirit combustion’.”

Ciemnosc could not see anymore, only that her dantian and forehead began to be set ablaze while the rest of the area surrounding everyone behind began melting all and everything away; his vision had already gone completely far away from them and from Jing Zhu as the Cloudless Eagle moved at a speed only slower to the Rychly Transporting Formation Array and took Ciemnosc to safety in a couple of milliseconds from these Obsidiafying realm cultivators already.

… … …PUM!!!... … … … …

“... … … …” Still looking back, and with the Cloudless Eagle hard at work so it could look back, hence also looking back behind them for it as well. Ciemnosc… suddenly saw an explosion he could have never seen coming. Even as they were now well over thousands and thousands of kilometers away, a cone-egg-shaped simply gigantic explosion appeared in a matter of an instant far away.

Ciemnosc could see how wind and even dirt orchestrated a little tsunami that went for just below a thousand kilometers, destroying the land and definitely making the air unbreathable, but only for a few seconds before nature seemed to take place and the air all around rapidly began to drift to all possible angles, also leaving the dirt that ended up clashing all at a whole different place to become hardened and turned into a large hill immediately.

Whosassshh~!

One of those bursts of air went towards them, at a speed that was well over theirs that also passed them by and seemed to open a whole path through the snow by melting it far away in the west. Whereas a tiny bit of the Little Lake was already visible.

But the Cloudless Eagle was not paying attention to the last bit of help given to them by its owner, it seemed so sorrowful now. Let alone Ciemnosc, who was looking back and could still not get over it with his eyes blankly staring all the way to the back where he could see not a single living being remaining all around that area for at least several hundreds of kilometers around the epicenter.

Whistle…

It was only after a good while when Ciemnosc heard something, that he slowly turned around to face the west. At this moment, they were already amidst some snow with a path created by that previous burst of snow. It was a long path of melted snow, a few layers of water were under them as they flew low. A Cloudless Eagle wasn’t good with all Elements, and knowing that, Ciemnosc didn’t urge the sorrowful poor thing to work harder than possible.

‘I wonder if this is normal for this world to see right before a war happens… or before anything, even.’ With really damn tired eyes, Ciemnosc wasn’t even conscious of the dried-up blood all over the right side of his body, he simply fell with his head face down on the Cloudless Eagle’s neck; its white body being left with a few dried-up dark red scabs here and there, especially at its neck and its upper back.

“Stop it, lower down. Or we won’t be able to go through much longer,” Ciemnosc spoke serenely to the hard working Cloudless Eagle. And from his words, the Cloudless Eagle knew it wouldn’t be able to fool Ciemnosc away, but it still did its utmost to twist its neck and land its brown eyes on Ciemnosc, telling it that it won’t be good if they did stop now…

“Just do it,” Ciemnosc spoke with a darker tone, this wasn’t hostile nor conceited in a way that would show how young he was, but was instead a kind of demanding yet completely charming tone and demeanor that it could only agree in a good natured way in return while already following its instincts that were always on the good side when it came to the boy.

“Don’t worry, I’ll hide you well. I’ll just try to run with the comm-” Ciemnosc was calmly easing the Cloudless Eagle, which began to lower its altitude and began to prepare a landing on the snow to the side. But then, Ciemnosc’s almost whispered words abruptly stopped, his eyes widened fully and he turned his torso around to look at the pair of flying beasts coming towards them together with the use of yet another Rychly Transporting Formation Array.

Fumble, roll roll roll, thud thud thud.

“!!” Before the Cloudless Eagle landed on the snow with its belly, its eyes tired and its wings slightly crooked from so much Wind element surrounding its body without any affinity towards it, and rolled over thrice before it fell with its belly facing the sky and Ciemnosc bouncing off once from the back of the Cloudless Eagle to the snow before finally also setting in the snow with his back facing the sky; he was able to scan over the 2 people coming towards them at the last moment.

‘Some escaped?’ Ciemnosc thought as he pushed his body up, reminding him of how just over a few minutes ago… that little; Ciemnosc was doing the same with his body becoming incredibly, severely injured from just one hit of the grand ancestor. Now, he struggled to stand up on the snow amidst the right side of his body cooling a bit comfortably but still without feeling it,

Wondering whether he would be pushed against the ground with his chest hitting it straight up one more, Ciemnosc stood up fully without obstruction. But she was already behind him and with her icy pike out. He stood up and didn’t move, his left hand in front of his belly as a thin sword silently appeared while he was semi showing the right side of his body to her.

“Gasp, Ciemnosc, w- what did th- how did this happen to you?!” Yolin concernedly asked, her right-handed icy pike becoming fully distracted as it aimed at the front. But it was not in a battle stance in the slightest. It had posed a weak stance now, and as soon as Ciemnosc knew of it, he turned around with his Mortal sword swung upwards at the icy pike!

Frrroft- clink! Whoosh, whoosh- thud- tak.

The sword cut through snow, easily making a 4 inches wide gap wherever it went through until it was moved upwards, its edge colliding against the pike’s shaft with both of them flying up, as Yolin had put a bit of her Power Energy into her icy pike at the last moment. His sword felt as if about to break in his hands, so Ciemnosc let it fly away almost accompanied by the icy pike and landing together with the sword landing flat and the icy pike with its other extreme penetrating through the snow and to the side of the sword’s blade.

Whoosh, rustle rustle- ...!

On the other hand, Ciemnosc moved fast, his 16,000 kg bodily strength making it easy for him to get behind an Obsidiafying realm cultivator and groping her clothes to lock her tightly against his chest… for one that was ultra distracted and with her mind gone semi fully blank.

When she saw the front of Ciemnosc’s right body, seeing the bloody palm imprint on his head was more than enough for her to collapse mentally, she didn’t understand it. And when she saw the bloodiness all around his right arm, waist, and leg, she felt her heart scorching without heat; she still couldn’t understand it!!

And when she was taken into his arms, his hands and wrists having groped her breasts and her bum being filled up by his strong manly body - she even felt glad he did so, even if he wasn’t being gentle, roughly instead, and even if he was moving his mouth to her neck menacingly.

Puchi, puchi, puchi…

Ciemnosc didn’t Claws Out, so it was only his bloody set of teeth that got to penetrate her spotless white skin. With her eyes and hair seemingly enchanted, a light sound came out from her lips while she even tilted her head to the left to let him continue, “Ah…”

“...” Ciemnosc stopped biting any further, his head was definitely not desiring to continue, and his heart didn’t feel any good in continuing to bite anymore at her neck. Leaving her neck, his mouth had a chunk of her meat behind his teeth, which he munched twice more and subconsciously gulped down. But even then, she did not even react. Her neck was all flaccid, and her expression remained complex with her intelligent eyes moving about nonstop.

She was sober, not stupefied or silly, and she fully knew what he was doing. How could he continue?

Whoosh~.

That was when his savior seemed to come. Ciemnosc barely felt any heat on his back when he used such an opportunity to directly storm off, leaving Yolin wobbling about as she began to fall on the snow while watching his back disappear. And his back, in her eyes, appeared so broken with the lingering deaths of many she couldn’t imagine; and lonely.
