Chapter 69 — They've Come

They've Come

The garage-basement building was basically a one-of-a-kind construction that was simple, but now, the sect disciples still saw this as being incredibly advanced, especially from how it looked on the blueprints. But of course, to Ciemnosc, this was way too simple, and it really wasn't any kind of untold technology or architecture. It was helpful, which was what mattered the most.

There were several ‘lines’ that went from about a few kilometers long, with each vehicle having quite a large storage for not just the fact of leaving a lot of space for parking and driving off from their own little personal garage; within the very long and deep huge garage.

While there were these long lines that seemed to come from most ‘main’ angles, there were also a total of 4 floors, with each one not necessarily being below the floor from above. But they all had the same length and width while also having a little personal garage for each vehicle so that it could get maintenance and any modification that one could put on them or request.

Of course, the latter was still not known by the sect disciples, and only a skeptical Valeria knew of his intentions with such, but she still adamantly believed in his doings, ah.

Within each floor, there was a roundabout that took part at just a little bit ‘above’ the middle of each line. With the ‘lower’ sections being where the line was closest to the main roundabout. So, in total, 2 roundabouts were on each floor. The main one was a small one, intersecting right at the middle of all the lines, connecting them as well, but also leading to the ‘road’ leading upwards to the surface.

Meanwhile, the secondary roundabout was only to connect the lines of a single floor for the sake of making quick action without needing for their line to progress in case a certain brigade or smaller force unit was mobilized. Because it was of course not allowed for a whole brigade to have their entire members all in the same line, only about in the same brigade in the 2 nearest floors at most.

Of course, that was also something that the sect disciples of today didn’t know of, and that only Valeria knew about once more, he kisses her all night with that mouth anyway.

And so, after the garage was done being built, the days didn’t become lighter by the still not used to working like servants-sect disciples, who were all grumpy and dissatisfied still with doing the work. Also, why wasn’t the only Link Consolidation realm boy doing something too? It was quite the injustice that they couldn’t accept, for now.

As soon as the 4th day came to be, the corps got to work, once again creating more ready-to-be-used materials to construct, storing them in the buildings for storage on the same 1st day that so many resources came back to the temporary living quarters. More than 100,000 cultivators then got to spend the 4th, 5th, and 6th day making an impossible amount of resources within such days.

Meanwhile, Ciemnosc, who had already built the sensor and alarm arrays all around the temporary, randomized living quarters, left said living quarters to move around where the 3 outposts would be built. With the aid of Grand Elder’s map and the ones given for this mission by the sect, Ciemnosc easily formulated a plan on his way here, perfection to the best that his little brain could work with.

Since it was all about protecting the port-building mission and repelling enemies until the port was completed, Ciemnosc had a lot of hard thinking since the port would need extensive and very well-detailed protection from all sides and possible angles.

He could take these 3 outposts in many ways and forms, to either protect only one side and the port to be built on the lateral side of the start of the Little Lake’s body of water or to make a triangular positioning with the port built right at the beginning of the Little Lake. Both weren’t wrong per se, but if Ciemnosc chose to make the triangular positioning of his outposts…then what if every single enemy targeted one of the two who were alone at either side of the Little Lake just at their beginning?

Yet, if he chose to do it rather lineally and have the stronghold right behind them with the port being built facing the western north of the Region, they would only be attacked from the front, and if attacked selectively, the one in the middle could help both of them as they are being assaulted. It was impossible for the enemy major organizations to outnumber them even if they joined another yet temporary alliance from the younger generation to strike the strongest organization.

So, in the end, Ciemnosc chose the option of forming a linear positioning. The outposts would follow an alignment of 15 degrees or so while facing the southern east, directly to what would be the right bottom corner of the entire Regional map.

Hence, Ciemnosc was now moving towards the southern outpost that was at the bottom of the linear positioned outposts. Still to even begin being built. As he had, of course, given them something to think of when they were doing the foundations of something they knew its properties, names, and measurements even, to which they would hopefully work better and complain less.

As soon as Ciemnosc arrived, he began to assess the territory, taking out a large retractable stair-like steps tool which he then used to stand at a height of 200 meters. Though it was pointless to use his Spirit Sense, his darkest eyes could see everything around him. It was even more beautiful when watching the regular deep parts of the Little Lake yet again made Ciemnosc appreciate the beauty of such after close to half a year of the first time seeing it.

But when he went back to looking around the land, without even needing to confirm with the mission’s maps, Ciemnosc could ‘see’ how, where, and why the enemy major organizations would be located and the routes as well as the type of assault they would launch against them…soon.

Hence, once he was done sightseeing the territory of lands up ahead on both sides of the river, only ending up preoccupying about the eastern-central side from the Little Lake, Ciemnosc confirmed more than thrice with his maps and memory of such before coming down.

Afterwards, Ciemnosc got to work with arrays, creating them outside of the perimeter of the soon-to-be-built outposts, protective arrays in specific that were quickly vacating his Inferior grade Powerful Stones that were around 783,000+ still. As for Supreme grade Powerful Stones, there were now 183 in his bag, literally.

Though he should’ve had around 195+Supreme Powerful Stones because of the purchase with the aid of Grand Elder’s connections with who knows who, how, and much more else - and because Ciemnosc hadn’t cultivated with another one after reaching the 7th stage of the Phrenic realm; because Ciemnosc bought many goodies, he was left with almost 20 less of them.

As for their purchase, thanks to Taldes, not even elder Apegos and elder Tin, Valeria’s master, seemed to notice how they were used to buying things ‘around’. They probably didn’t even know he had more Supreme Powerful Stones than what he should have according to their spies - or else, Ciemnosc wouldn’t be walking right now.

For now, though, Ciemnosc did his utmost to complete these arrays. Forming a really extensive array that was yet the largest he has ever inscribed so far. And he had to repeat it another 2 times, along with that many others for each outpost that is for alarms, and sensory detection like when getting into the city. Communication arrays too, and even transmission of images or direct messages to other arrays, connected to the other outposts but with the future stronghold as its catalyst for the latter to work.

Going closer and closer to the outpost’s perimeter, Ciemnosc kept on inscribing array after array, not missing one cm of linear formation in his inscriptions in congruence to the rest of the array’s initial distance at the time of starting the inscription. Only when it was really late did he hop back into his commanding vehicle and went back to his dear bed of warm skin, warm tits to pillow his head on, a mouth to defile, and many thighs and buttocks’ massages to make.

Such a warm embrace welcomed him ‘in’ every time. How could he care about what dumbasses said about him not doing shit? They’ll see when they get to work on their shit. Meanwhile, he’ll be playing with his Valeria all he could want to now, at last!

And indeed, when the 7th day came, the cultivators who were getting somehow kinda used to working and moving their workload to increase their produce and efficiency…because of boredom, getting laid, and being the alpha male or female. They then abruptly found themselves with brand-new yet exciting and fun orders!

‘Pick up yer vehicles and drive to your outpost!’. - Immediately, more than 100,000 sect disciples went into the garage and looked for their own little personal garage. They almost very well did their maintenance check, and after 30 minutes. Hundreds of vehicles could be seen orderly coming like slow motions locusts from the fake garage’s entrance which was a very long road below it. And once they were out of the living quarters area, they all sped!!

Each squad had 3 teams, from which they were all selected by Ciemnosc, sure, but from which they all knew who was who despite whatever differences some might or might just not have. They had all, by now, understood their teammates’ faces and their squadmates’ way of living since even their tent was to be shared - so.

When they were given orders, they were mostly accompanied by squads that also knew each other. It was a spectacular coincidence. But when leading figures such as Ernesto and Makis found out their people were exactly with them, not even a single squad was missing… That coincidence turned into disbelief, ‘oh what the fac, could commander Ciemnosc really know?’.

But while they were thinking like that as they communicated with other vehicles on their way to their outposts, all they could think of was building their own little home right here. The outposts were very, damn, too, unholy-like, absurdly large. It was more fit to call them town or small city at most - they were designed to hold about 500,000 people in total, and it was indeed more than that number, but as an estimate 500,000 was the number to look at.

Naturally, for just a ‘little’ over 100,000 corps that were indeed little in comparison, it seemed so big…a bit too big in fact. There was no mistake that commander Ciemnosc had planned for the future, and that in the next few days, even if he still does nothing and remains at his tent or around the random living quarters, there will still be understanding if he took a break after designing all these.

However, what they didn’t know was that, for the next whole week, all the way until the 13th day since the start of the mission, Ciemnosc ‘suffered’ in bed with a little bit of fever. It wasn’t that he was sick. If anything he grew really tired from exhausting his Spirit Sense and Power Energy and needed Inferior Powerful Stones to recuperate asap. But what he was getting in return for wholly, astoundingly completing the arrays for the outposts altogether was a beautiful, warm, creamy bronze skin that longed for him just as well and much as he wanted her to become his.

But oh well, steps, tiny baby steps. He could at least use her skin below her knees to show her how much sticky fluid glued her body to his on their first playful night together. It was wonderful, but waking up was worrisome. She reeked of him so badly… She could only imagine what that would do to her little pus-oh.

In the case of the sect disciples, they didn’t have to ask Ciemnosc endless questions. He left detailed guides for every single little room to be built and every single array’s guide on how not to be punished heavily for messing stuff up and how to basically be not an idiot who is going to be punished for doing dumb stuff.

Other than that, some sect disciples had enough talent on the subject and, if anything, they were looked for in the next few days. Like this, the cultivators once again showed how great of labor slaves they could be, and Ciemnosc was really getting the idea that cultivators becoming construct workers was how the world was supposed to be…while he was all too comfy in a sea of creamy bronze skin.

From sanitation-focused rooms to even detailed training for body strength with measurements, agility with timers and leaderboards, survival skills as well that are rather specific like holding one’s breath, venom or poison resistance, pills’ efficiency, too-crafting and weapon-armor-crafting for desperate measures. All that could be detected by the arrays and mechanisms to be placed and built on.

The previous works they’ve done could be considered to be baby steps, those that were easy to do, but that also prepared them to build difficult mechanisms and even taught them very well how to place, when to place, and so on - pre-inscribed arrays that had incredible unknown effects before but that they were now seeing nonstop.

They were wondering since when the sect had such array formations if it was only recently that they ‘finished them up’ and took them out of their testing processes. And it was now commander Ciemnosc making use of such.

But that was that, and Ciemnosc had still to go on the 13th day of the mission in order to place some vigilance arrays that he’d be pretty much-making use of in case of any needed orders. For that though, there would be a dire need to train these unruly, undisciplined guys that would at least listen to his most obviously correct commands in the future.

. . .

14th day of the mission, at the temporary living quarters with about 25,000+ sect disciples remaining, the main tent was pulled up just yesterday early in the morning by the workers.

The workers, otherwise cultivators ‘when needed’, were divided between the outposts and the future stronghold of the corps. The stronghold’s blueprint had already been shown to the slaves, so they were already studying it, exactly because it was a yet even more complicated overall process in the building that was also pretty damn larger, larger than the outposts.

In this stronghold, the already built garage was to be secured within its perimeter inside its walls. While the ‘worker’ section was to be cleaned up and prepared for another place. It was the first time that they were forced to put away something they took effort in doing for the first time ever within the corps, but it was going to be done anyway; it at least showed the change in their mindset for this mission.

Not only that though, the garage was to be expanded. And it once again gave the others the feeling that their commander Ciemnosc was looking out for them even in the future when they requested for another, proper leader…

At this moment, Ciemnosc was seated in the temporary main tent. He was in front of a not-so-wide but rather large white table connected to others of similar aspect, forming a rather rectangular ‘U’ with him at the lower end of such. He had a bunch of monitors before him with Mosto to his left and Valeria to his right behind him. The latter was cleaning her dried-up saliva over his face and chest, even neck and ears, nose and under chin that had dried up a little.

When she was finally done with that, she grinned lightly and went back to strictly and sternly look at everyone in the main tent who dared look at her being so sweetly adorably girly. Immediately causing men and women of ‘official’ status alike to straighten their backs and focus their unfocused eyes away from her general direction.

“Oookay, since this is the first time I’m speaking with you directly, I’ll try to be concise and sharp,” Ciemnosc spoke after yawning. He had really slept last night after Valeria let him rub her inner thighs, oh gosh the feeling!

Ciemnosc remained seated as the monitors in front of him right above the white table, and those that were suspended in the air by a notorious long cable that also worked as a support for said monitors all in front of him all began showing the vigilance system from both sides to allow Ciemnosc and those in front of him to see clearly the key angles and even indoors of all 3 outposts.

In short, there were a lot of monitors.

“These are the devices I’ll be using to respond to whichever situation arises. It will also be the same way for when our sect disciples have to move on to the offensive or form an advanced defensive line. They will as I already explained in the regulations before, always bring their vehicles around.” Ciemnosc explained all at once, his tone calm.

“May I ask for what reason?” A pretty young-looking woman as if she was 17 years old asked, she had black eyes and hair obscure brown skin, and had a regular height but seemed a bit short when seated. Ciemnosc looked at her with his hand’s intertwining fingers in front of his chin, supporting it thereafter. “Because I am the commander, no other reason for it.”

“...” She became silent, a young man that was of also regular height but seemed tall while seated instead, who had nice sand brown skin and really short black hair that looked emo but was cute and really attractive, looked at Ciemnosc with a bit of a frown, to which Ciemnosc then commented with clear eyes and an even clearer tone. “Shidar is your name if I remember correctly. You see, there’s no discip-”

Buuuzhhh~~! Buuuzzh~!

“!” - “!!!” Suddenly, amidst Ciemnosc’s words, the communication entering from outpost 3, which was the southern outpost— at the bottom —appeared on a larger monitor than any other that had been black so far. Interference showed for half a second before revealing Makis’s face. Ciemnosc was just quite surprised, but the rest became intense and anxious out of nowhere.

“Sir! Commander, there are sightings and alarms, they are coming from 3 different points, without any weapons, and on foot, but they have all been recognized. They are all from the Moribund Yearning Cult. They are also at the same cultivation bases as us, and numbering beyond 10,000!” Makis had a sweaty face, serious trouble had come, and he was the one to shoulder ‘this’ first tryout against an incoming enemy - and not a weaker one in prowess at that.
