Chapter 206 — Splashing The Shallow Waters Of The Little Lake

Splashing The Shallow Waters Of The Little Lake

At the shore of the Little Lake closest to Ciemnosc's base. Early in the morning, 6th month and 4th week, 5th day since the start of the war.

Crrrtt~, wheesh...

"Let it go~!" A bunch of cultivators, not necessarily burly but topless, and not all male, were moving a huge ship through the land. It would've been an easy thing to just drop it on the Little Lake by taking it out of a Covert Space bag. But they were too damn big and tall with those 2 gigantic masts at the center. Even their Chief in Command had to disassemble the ships that the academy granted him before bringing them away, hence why such a thing that seemed much easier wasn't happening.

They were much bigger than the major organizations’ ships, which could be easily noticed by those who fought those things while on armored cars. With the speed of the armored cars, as long as they didn’t stupidly fall into the water, which happened a few times when facing off enemy ships recently, the armored cars would be capable of destroying a couple of ships and scaring the rest off.

Which was just right, the aiming guidance system of the enemy was deplorable if not nonexistent. Meanwhile, the base’s cannons were top quality in all of the world, so of course there was going to be a more than clear difference in both battles and results.

So whenever the armored cars of the base appeared wherever the enemy ships tried to make their ‘terrifying’ and ‘to fear’ appearance, they would end up running away, sailing back into the beginning of the Little Lake. They never sent more than 4 though, so just destroying 1 of them was enough to make them fall into panic, and the destruction of another was the last straw before they decided to save their lives instead.

After all, unlike the ordinary people, the battles of cultivators even on water were to die or make others die instead. It was the same for the ships, they weren’t ‘sunk’ but ‘annihilated’ with the cannons. If anything, the squads that took care of the enemy ships after a couple of hours of running back and forth were careful to not hit the water and only fire away when it was at least 80% secure that the hit would land on the enemy.

The enemy ships were after all an honest work of Ciemnosc’s brains, so they were not bad at all, only, they couldn’t last enough before the good armored cannons made quick work of them. The protective array formations of the ships were so-so, only resisting 3 hits before heavily weakening, on the other hand, the ships could only land their pure energy shells into the earth and give rise to some dirt, that was all.

But whenever a pure energy shell landed directly on the water and didn’t at least hit some part of an enemy ship, the waters of the Little Lake would rage on a little bit but create strong splashes of about 20 meters. And whenever several of such hit the water in the same way altogether or even slowly in succession, it was a bunch of murderous waters crashing anything that they touched, even air as it seemed to blast away slowly by the waves and bursts of water each time.

But that was something that Ciemnosc didn’t have to see now, the spirit of the major organizations to try and figure out their exact plans was down by now, only sending some scouts on foot with some strange devices that appeared to be binoculars but not at the same time. Those scouts were too timid, only remaining up to a few hundred kilometers from their second port, still in the process of being built, while the first port of the base was still halfway there.

“There it goes!!” Another voice shouted, and the topless students stopped in their tracks to see the huge ship enter the water.

Splashhh~! Fwoosh fwoosh, splash splashy splashies.

“YEAAH!!” - “THAT WAS SO FUCKING HEAVY!” - “Hey, where is the Chief? Wasn’t he going to be here, who gunna train us?”

Everyone watched as the ship that they also took a bit of time to learn how to assemble and make sure it was all perfectly done so as if it was just finished being made, entered the water, and created good enough splashes around that were like trophies for their hard work. But they quickly noticed someone missing, their main instructor for ship sailing, and many more things that were all about massacring those eastern bastards!

“AH!” - “Stop yelling out of nowhere, your strength as cultivator makes it loud for us, dumbass!” - “The Chief is right there, on top of the ship! Look, at the bow!” - “...!!”

“...” Ciemnosc was, indeed, on top of the ship they were dragging across the ground, some of the snow at the side of its hull melting away without a sound. He was standing on top of the bow, close to its edge but still in the middle of it, he looked towards the beginning of the lake as if he was able to tell a thing or two about that place before turning to look at his troops.

“... … …” It had been almost a week since the integration of the new 240,000 students into the base. By now, the students were already aware of the things ongoing here and were working hard to adapt to it. As the second batch of students, they felt as if their seniors, the first batch of new students, were expecting a lot of them and hence they needed to employ the best of their capabilities to make the seniors proud.

But it was difficult, they were even told that a lot of them were going to the mines and were to be mixin with ‘veterans’ for that purpose. They were so confused and stupefied but still, they could only accept it and continue training as well as learning the rules and regulations of the base and… practically as troops under Chief in Command, Gifted Ciemnosc.

Now, as they looked at him, their leader, both the students and new students were stupefied by the coolness of their Chief. Not only was his uniform so good looking, which might have been attributed to the fact that they’ve lived all of their lives up until recently in the academy and became too used to the ordinariness of it. The ship itself was so grand and had the burnt cocoa color that seemed to just be perfect amid the lands of snow far away from the middle of the water and the clear, light blue color of the shallowest waters of the Little Lake.

Having a hero ‘riding’ on top of it was the extra in their eyes that was needed for their hearts to become worshipful. The ship had a length of over 160 meters, about double the size of those from the major organizations, and an even more incredulous width of 62 meters, with 2 masts that were very well 40 meters tall and 3 meters thick at its center.

They had many ship sails, each one really small but elongated to clearly beyond the width of the ship itself, parted in the middle but somehow, seemingly, connected still.

Believable or not, this ship was actually… the small-sized one for the base; and the Rocaloi Academy for that matter. This ship which was supposed to be the smallest among the total 3 blueprints of different ships he gave to the academy, was already much bigger in every aspect than the ones from the major organizations.

These ships were going to be the ones with the most number in the waters of the Little Lake from its beginning to its deepest waters. For both sides.

“The first members of a team to stand before me with the cold still on your bodies will help me in the first exhibition, only 6 teams will be allowed in this first try. They will also become my first to be personally instructed after the exhibitions.” Ciemnosc said, his voice reaching everyone. Either by his voice alone or by the communication device hugging their uniform’s collars that the newest students had already become used to.

Other than becoming used to the communication devices, the panels, array formations, and technological ‘innovations’ being just about everywhere in the base, and the heavy sexual, lewd stuff. The New students have also become used to the role of following one person and obeying his immediate orders, this Chief in Command’s every word.

“Ah, hurry, hurry! You’re the fastest, jump you mothefacka!” - “Hurry, get on the ship, on the damned ship!” - “Get up you bastards, we weren’t chosen for anything! Go!!” The crowd of overall students immediately went crazy, those leading students who formed part of some of the teams selected to learn to sail a ship also had their eyes bulging and become bloody.

Ssiip- pum!... … …thud.

There were quite a large number of Conflagrate realm students around, and immediately, lots of them began flying up to try and get close to the ship; the one and only that Ciemnosc was on. However, as they were only slightly worried while the ship was moving away from the shore just slightly, unlike Spirit Gathering realm students who were even looking about to go mad, they were suddenly met with the sight of Ciemnosc swinging his left arm without moving his elbow one bit.

Immediately, every time he waved, swung, and threw his left forearm around, several Conflagrate realm students and leading students were brought down to the warm waters of the Little Lake or back to the snow after flying backwards ever so heavily.

Splash, splash, thud thud thud… whoosh whoosh whooosh.

“Aaaah~!!” - “Fuck, ptui ptui, I’m spitting blood?!” - “Don- do- don’t fly!!” A few seconds had to pass by while silence engulfed everyone that tried rushing unto the ship. Then, several Conflagrate realm cultivators looked around crazed and only calmed down when there really wasn’t any sight of enemies, only seeing their fellow students awkwardly looking at them.

“...!” Then, holding each other as if they were touched by the same evil man and were about to tell the judge where they were touched, they backed off holding each other’s hands and hearts, having no shame in their appearance.

“Go!!” No one knew, nor cared, who shouted once more. But the panicky and anxiousness behind the shout was what woke up the Spirit Gathering realm students who were getting dispirited after seeing the Conflagrate realm students almost successfully cheat. On the other hand, those daring Conflagrate realm students were more than glad to let the kids have fun, and just watch at the back, as further to the back where they wouldn’t have any more ideas from the Little Lake’s shore.

Step step step step…!

Tens of thousands of students charged on at the same time, and even some Conflagrate realm who dared not trick or cheat even sneakily when in Ciemnosc’s eyes joined in the fray to rush at the ship that was passively sailing further and further away.

A majestic sight unfolded, and hundreds of students directly jumped from the edge that was more into the Little Lake than any other, using their whole Power Energy to jump and dash through the air!

Some almost made it to the top, but ended up all falling into the water. But they didn’t give up and began climbing the ship, with some who were even thinking of destroying part of the ship with their hands to climb faster ending up falling back into the water unconscious. This time, not by Ciemnosc’s tiny pinky-sized pieces of paper he threw around like before, but by the pain and broken hands that they got as soon as they tried.

Then, some who climbed up at last and stood in front of Ciemnosc, thinking themselves of being the main characters were slapped, mentally, away along with their hopes slapping them butts. For all, Ciemnosc had to say, “No, you’re wet, there is not a single spot of snow on your clothes or body.”

And so, the students who fell into the water and then climbed up slowly walked off the ship to ‘take their lives’ by falling back into the nice, cozy, and warm water. Of course, they just wanted consolation, and though it wasn’t the most comfortable and warmest in the morning, it was good enough as a consolation prize. They were never allowed to go into the Little Lake since that one first day, after all, nothing wrong would come out of it, right?

Of course that they didn’t know Ciemnosc was recording them down in mental notes to have them punished later on.

The fiery contest continued, however, stopping for nothing or no one, becoming more ‘cruel’ as more time passed. For in the end, jumping from the shore was no longer available, the ship was already hundreds of meters away from it and still sailing away passively from the momentum it had when it was being dragged into the water.

But the students were not heartless, no matter how cruel and devastating this ‘test’ was, they didn’t falter and fell into the abyss of despair. Those who failed, either by jumping or being pushed down by another student who didn’t want them to win a spot for their team before them, only to end up failing and falling into the water after themselves; they all ended up forming a line, whether they planned it or not, from the shore to the ship sailing away.

And so, the students who failed seemed to gain some sort of unified heart, they let themselves be used as stepping stones for other students who had still not failed. There were too many students who were selected to become sailors, warriors on watah, and they had extremely high expectations after being selected. Now, they were blindingly fighting for just an exhibition spot, even Ciemnosc realized how silly and bizarre everything turned out in the end.

But after just a little over 35 minutes, the 6 members of their own team had secured a spot for their teams to be his first ‘students’ to personally instruct on the ways of warships and naval battles. It could… prove to be much better than before, perhaps…

… And so the day went on. Ciemnosc immediately shooed the darned students who wanted to take advantage and bathe in the Little Lake, as they were also topless and a portion of them even took everything off. They didn’t go crazy though, starting fucking right away or something, they just enjoyed the warm water after endless cold outside of the precious water of the Little Lake; before being kicked back into that cold.

Thereafter, Ciemnosc first named things, then named processes and other little thingies that he himself made up after studying the ordinary people’s ways, adding parts of the cultivation world to these ships and granting them advantages that were plain stupid in terms of ‘ordinary reality’. But an incredible, resourceful invention in the cultivation world in and within itself.

Afterwards, the tens of thousands of students listening attentively, like children being told whatever children like to be spoken about. Ciemnosc began having the 6 teams, 2 squads of students, begin moving things around a bit. There was a captain, selected anonymously among the 6 teams’ team leaders; and a few more who were taking care of the panels that were to move the ship as well as its overall protective barrier situation.

Then, the rest fewer team members were in charge of the 2 cannons of repairs. There was a need for only about 50 people in the ship, despite its length and width, it was crazy and all, but cultivation itself was already against all life and reason; it was the real crazy for the world; for it was the same as going against the world.

Though… it did not really seem that way, even though it is. Due to the things Ciemnosc now knows, despite the ‘going against reality’ and hence ‘against the world’; he could tell that it was nature itself that support all that had to do with the cultivation world. So it was more or less an… inception of misconceptions?

The last thing that the students watched was the simple demonstration of the ship on full work. All of its crew working at their posts, with Ciemnosc having to do some comments here and there, and the students on the shore watching how the ship sailed around at a good speed, still slower than an armored car but speedy through water still.

That was only until Ciemnosc showed them something really good, though.

The ship sails of the ship began glowing one by one, each making a slight booming sound when they were ‘turned on’, a bit of a sonic boom covering them for just a few seconds before dissipating in a moment’s worth of time. However, by the time the sonic boom dissipated, the ship was already sailing at a much faster speed, not by a whole lot, but its increase was really good.

With each set of ship sails turning on, each pair emitting a slight booming noise, the ship’s speed increased and increased yet again. It wasn’t until the ship had its ship sails turned on by half that it no longer continued to speed up, instead, it began to gain an impossible agility!

After half the ship sails were turned on, the subsequent pais of sails began to not increase its speed anymore, even despite the students seeing for the first time, they could tell it was not doing so thanks to their Spirit Gathering realm cultivation base. They could, however, and as any ordinary person would be able to tell, that the agility of the ship was augmented, and that it had gained a nimbleness that not even armored cars with the Synergized Equatrend Mobilizers could have.

Before, at full speed, the ship took about half a minute to turn its way around, nearing the other shore if starting to turn around from another shore, it was nerve breaking every time it happened. And it was even crazier when not only that amount of time was lessened greatly, but even more so as the ship itself even turned around fully, completely as if wasting all sorts of laws in the world!

Of course, the crew had to be prepared for such, and even then, some of the crew ended up vomiting a bit of content and a tiny amount of blood. They were to be held by extremely strong holds on seats to every limb of theirs every few centimeters with wide and strong, not-so-smooth ribbons, also being somehow ‘hugged’ from the back at their heads, neck, and upper torso.

Only then did Ciemnosc allow for this maneuver of extreme emergency to be employed. It didn’t end there, as the students directly moved around to their positions, some simulating repairing parts of the ship with some designated ‘toys’ that were made just for that purpose, and the rest to either their respective panels or 1 of the 2 cannons.

It wasn’t a beautiful spectacle, but it… did something to the hearts of the students. It was a kind of having found something they suddenly found themselves cherishing of greatly… it was great.

Afterwads, Ciemnosc did some more laps with the ship to show the kind of speed and needed body manipulation to maintain themselves stable without taking a seat unlike in an armored car. These ships were, after all, essentially much speedy than the armored cars. Now that was something stupidly great! Especially for these students who were going to bring these babies to battle!
