Chapter 697 — Glorious Death

Glorious Death

"!" Heian Ciemnosc didn't waste any time as he saw the incoming dozens of still enormous rhinos. They weren't as immense as the first rhinoceros, but they were not something Heian Ciemnosc saw daily. Even in the Crimsonbreaking Faction, when he went to check on Evans and Alejandro, he only saw a few Fauna around the same realm larger than them. And now, he was facing dozens of them. He looked at Landa before stomping hard on the rhinoceros.

STOMP!! WHOOSSHH! PAH- WHOOOOSHHH!!!

Heian Ciemnosc’s body advanced rapidly towards Landa. The rhinos closed the path towards her and intended to crush him, but Heian Ciemnosc’s dark tail flapped once, and his speed blurred and distorted almost immediately as if he was shrinking before zooming away.

ZZZZZZZ-!! THUDDDD~~!! RUUUMBLEE~! The rhinos around him sped up one last time but couldn’t find Heian Ciemnosc’s body to smash, and instead, they collided with each other as they practically made space shake a little in their immediate surroundings.

They didn’t have time to react as the rhinoceros that Heian Ciemnosc tainted with his dark Neutral Energy suddenly bloated. Its height slightly increased, but its volume advanced to a diameter of 300 meters, driving the other rhinos’ attention away before they looked at Heian Ciemnosc’s back, insanely speeding towards their creator. They ignored the former and charged at the latter.

Their momentum was broken, so they could only slowly speed towards Heian Ciemnosc. However, they failed to notice something stranger happening behind them.

Bluublooo, gurlge~... pop!

A gentle, nearly inaudible noise, even if one was situated just before it came from the no longer violet lightning rhinoceros. Although it didn’t have its previous violet lightning, some darkened little sparkles came off of it, and they were clearly distinguishable from the black emptiness of the world. It continued bloating, and when it reached 400 meters in volume diameter, its sparkles turned into thin but several tens of meters long darkened lightning strikes sprouting out and remaining ejected before instantly dissipating.

The rhinos seemed to notice the strange change in the Elements, or rather… the Lightning element. Some looked back, but most ignored it, and when Heian Ciemnosc’s darkest eyes twinkled a little in thought, the rhinoceros he left behind suddenly imploded.

POOFFF… …gurgle- SWAAAAASSSSSSSSSHHHHHH~~~~~~~~!!!!

ROOOOAAARR~!!! Suddenly, Landa’s beautified face, which was already hot, to say the least, looked past Heian Ciemnosc for a few seconds and watched one of her rhinoceros turn into a tainted-like darkness. It suddenly imploded, and instead of creating a slight shake throughout the world, a massive dark water ball appeared in its stead.

But what’s more, it… had the head and horn of a rhinoceros within! It was negligible, nearly impossible to discern. The darkened water ball moved, flowing within its scopes. It was like a planet comprehensively made of water, waves crashing everywhere but following its spherical shape without coming out of it.

Before Landa knew it, the seemingly peaceful and isolated darkened water ball surged outwards, aiming at her violet lightning rhinos. The most incredible thing was that this darkened water ball of 250 meters in diameter was too small, but it immediately traveled hundreds of meters, chasing the violet lightning rhinos.

Despite its smaller dimensions, dark water waved towards the rhinos at an incredible speed. The violet rhinos were already speedy enough since they were made from violet lightning, but the darkened water held too much force behind its motion, and like a tide, it rushed towards the rhinos’ backs. It didn’t slow down even after reaching the first rhinos.

The violet lightning rhinos struck by it immediately struggled, roared, and sent bouts of violet lightning from their bodies. It wasn’t a small matter, as they lost parts of their bodies for every small violet lightning strike they sent out. Before long, several kilometers covered a line by the darkened water. The rhinos were nearly all captured, and they slowly killed themselves as the darkened water drowned the rest of their violet lightning remnants. Too weak to put up a fight.

However, half a dozen rhinos escaped this face as they were too far ahead, and the darkened water was also consumed. It had a depth of a few hundred meters, but it couldn’t move forwards and capture the rest of the rhinos, or it would lose its capabilities against those it already had.

ROOOOOOOOAARRRRRRR!~!!

The violet lightning rhinos that survived the dark tide rushed towards Heian Ciemnosc, shrinking their bodies in order to enhance their speed. On the other hand, Landa’s furious expression couldn’t be any more enchanting as she slowly half stood up on her sigil’s violet light.

…-THUUUDDD!!CRASSHH- ZZZZ- ZAP ZAP ZAP! CUH- PHHSHK~!

Heian Ciemnosc’s body charged towards Landa. She wasn’t afraid, and as she looked at him, the last rhinos still with her immediately crashed toward Heian Ciemnosc. In a single millisecond, Heian Ciemnosc came close enough, and Landa didn’t stop, and her remaining violet lightning rhinos sacrificed 95% of their size volume to stop his movement.

Heian Ciemnosc immediately felt his shoulders, arms, and sides struck by several rhinos. To his surprise, their strength didn’t diminish in the slightest. Even then, while Heian Ciemnosc’s pale body bled dark from many uneven, shapeless holes around his body, his bodily strength had also not diminished at all!

Heian Ciemnosc forced his way forwards as horns grazed his skin and formed more wounds, dragging his skin away or lightly zapping at his exposed bones and organs, sending bouts of pain and harm everywhere. His dark fangs harshly gritted, and his darkened teeth suddenly gained a bit of sharpness as dark flashes coursed his body.

In slow motion, Heian Ciemnosc’s darkest eyes looked at the incoming Landa as she slowly prepared to strike him. Her left hand took the shape of a gladius sword with a strange, extra handle past the base of its blade. It was coated with violet lightning and made from violet Lightning Energy, respectively.

She saw as Heian Ciemnosc’s body still forced its way in between half a dozen small violet lightning rhinos, disregarding the state of his body. When she looked slightly up at his darkest eyes, she felt a strange sense of comfort from the ultimate coldness they emanated, but their lifelessness and serenity from them suddenly made her terrified.

“!” After forcing his way through the middle, Heian Ciemnosc struck his right elbow forwards, his claw taking an aggressive, defenseless stance as his right arm’s bones cracked, and he back-clawed towards Landa from below to up!

Landa hurriedly drew her body back, but Heian Ciemnosc’s motion still reached her. When she least expected it, her face was clawed in that backwards motion, and 5 long tails appeared on from the right side of her chin to her nose, narrowly avoiding her eyes. She then explosively retreated, with all violet lightning rhinos imploding, and a trail of violet lightning formed from her hands as she enlarged the distance.

BAM! ZZZZ~- ZAPP… BOOM- BOOM- BOOM- BAAAANNGGG!!

“...” Landa stopped as she saw Heian Ciemnosc and the darkest eyes that made her feel strangely… fitting. Heian Ciemnosc just remained there as if nothing was going wrong, and then, her violet lightning rhinos followed his guidance from before and self-destroyed. They left only violet lightning behind as it spread everywhere.

They were at the side of the 4th line battlefield, so nobody was approached, and the young black monster’s spaceships far away, forming a blockade to the battlefield, maintained their 1 on 1 situation. However, the last bits of Heian Ciemnosc’s darkest eyes struck Landa deep within her being… for some reason. It made her feel slightly desolate as she saw his body engulfed in her violet lightning besides the glorious honor of annihilating such a monstrous individual!

SWUUUUUSH- SWAAASSSHHH~~~!

“!” However, just as she felt a little lost. She watched as the dark tide from before no longer cared about the rhinos it had already drowned and moved to cover Heian Ciemnosc’s location, which essentially became a land of violet lightning. It would’ve been confused for a prohibited zone in space if it wasn’t because of its small size.

The dark tide formed an uneven, darkened water body again, and the lightning within rapidly subsided, although it roared and struck everywhere for over a minute before everything suddenly went silent.

“...!” Landa’s violet eyes narrowed. She suddenly condensed all her Lightning Energy as the stormy clouds behind her increased in volume again. She took a prepared stance, and the strands of lightning energy she made in her retreat had suddenly became thicker and were accompanied by more lightning violet, forming a long pathway from near the darkened water body and her.

ZZZZZ-KKKK- CHIRP CHIRP~~~!

The lightning’s sounds echoed louder and louder… until actual birds’ chirping was heard, as then, pelicans with over 400 meters of wingspans and slightly half in length. Their peak was tremendously long, but it was sharp and finite.

BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!! PEEEEEEWWWWWWW~~~!!!

Heian Ciemnosc suddenly appeared as the dark tide parted in two with a tremendous force. Heian Ciemnosc’s figure was still in the same spot. Although he was now more wounded, and his pale skin bled darker, the dark tide around him, cut into two like butter separated by a hot knife, slowly moved towards him with shapeless limbs acting like tentacles before entering each of his open injuries.

This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

When those shapeless limbs touched him, they formed dark clogs before they were absorbed into his body by the [All-Devour Force Chronicles], and his dark Neutral Energy was half restored, albeit his wound, dark Soul, and Spirit Sense didn’t get better.

His wounds also resumed bleeding, and they coated his cleanly showered pale skin as he looked at Landa, ignoring those violet lightning pelicans before him. They made a pathway towards Landa but were as dangerous and harmful as the rhinos from before, and what’s more, they were already prepared by a cautious move from Landa.

But Heian Ciemnosc didn’t bother…

Without saying a thing, Heian Ciemnosc stomped his 6th meter dark tail and immediately scurried into space, turning into a dark, blurry, light-like trace without shape and too uniform to be considered, so streak in a semi-direct line towards Landa.

Heian Ciemnosc’s speed was unfathomable! His starting speed was even more shocking, as 2 violet lightning pelicans near him immediately turned into dust from his mere dark tail flapping the space behind him. His body rapidly reached forth, but the pelicans quickly gave the violet lightning forming their bodies up and closed the distance immediately, standing in his way and placing their wings together to stop his advancement.

POM PAM- PUNCH! KICK- BAM BUM BOOMM! WHEEESH- PEEEEW~!

Heian Ciemnosc was insanely fast, but the violet lightning was still the same violet lightning! When he met these violet lightning wings, Heian Ciemnosc ushered his darkened fists and palms forth, keeping his dark claws for someone else. His dark blood and darkened water covered his limbs as he also kicked and stomped towards them, breaking those violet lightning wings apart.

The pelicans didn’t stop or slow Heian Ciemnosc’s speed, and instead, each pelican he found and whose wings he destroyed were followed by a pulse of his dark Neutral Energy as he kept the same pace and momentum from before. Every single Heian Ciemnosc punch and kick was calm, swift, decisive, and somewhat cold. It exposed how much of a struggle yet eased heart he had as he traversed through it.

ZZZZZZ-KKKK~! Meanwhile, Landa’s violet eyes widened, but she wasn’t fearful… although she was scared, it only impulsed her to try harder! Her right arm was folded and elevated as she lifted her Small Piece Sigil of Lightning, and now faced an incoming young black monster as if he was walking up a staircase towards her with all the fury in the world.

A strange bulb of violet light formed around her opened right hand, traveling through her body towards her elbow, projecting a sharp saber-like tip a couple inches from her elbow. It became brighter and lighter as a pike formed at the end of her hand’s violet bulb. Her face became fiercer as she prepared her innate Elemental Supreme Art, and her eyes flashed resolution.

“...” Meanwhile, Heian Ciemnosc had finally dealt with most pelicans. His dark Neutral Energy was a little on the low after using his 6th meter dark tail, but he was now just a couple meters before Landa as they both felt like the world stopped for them to face each other. After the face-off, he advanced, and Landa moved, their bodies up to destroy the other’s.

CHIIIRPP~! PAAAAAAAAAAAMM!!!! SLASHH!!!! PEEEEW! PEEW~!

Suddenly, 4 pelicans rushed to Heian Ciemnosc’s front, becoming smaller than Heian Ciemnosc himself, and their wingspans also sacrificed, all just so they could stop his right fist. Their heads and necks were broken apart by Heian Ciemnosc’s bodily strength. Heian Ciemnosc’s punch was stopped, but his expression was still. Unbendable.

Yet, Landa didn’t waste that chance to slam her right palm on his sternum. Unfortunately for her, his dark tail coiled around her right shoulder and broke it! Her shoulder sent pain into her brain as her crystalline skin rapidly repaired, but this wouldn’t mean she was healed. Even then, Landa wasn’t a damn pushover. She moved her torso and forcefully aimed her palm still at Heian Ciemnosc’s body, landing it above his left chest.

At the same time, while Heian Ciemnosc rolled his darkest eyes, his left claw immediately flashed towards her sternum but didn’t penetrate. It simply moved there and stopped for half an instant… before back-clawing at Landa’s belly and right thigh.

“!” - ”...” Landa’s mouth opened, but she immediately closed it and looked down at Heian Ciemnosc, whose darkest eyes were stuck on her face. She met his face level. Looking at each other in the eye, they seemed to stare off for an eternity, but only 0.1 seconds passed before they were blasted away, both followed by their unique energy.

Heian Ciemnosc’s body flew backwards and immediately disappeared hundreds of kilometers while his left upper chest gained a hole that nearly broke through his bones completely. Instead, it penetrated halfway before stopping, giving up before Heian Ciemnosc’s impenetrable body. Dark Neutral Energy followed him in a direct line before forming an arch when the initial speed he was blasted off in finally ended, and he flew away for another tens of kilometers.

On the other hand, Landa’s body flew kilometer after kilometer upwards as her body was momentarily lost in the damage she just suffered. She only recuperated her power sources and mental state after flying for a few hundred kilometers. When she stopped, with a ‘FUTOMP!’ noise, she expelled all Elemental Poisoning in a 1 km radius and felt more pain from her action.

“...!” She looked down, only to see her belly and right thigh’s front clawed with a 3 inch depth and 2.3 inches width. There were only 5 claw marks like that. What if he attacked with both of his claws? Landa thought as she looked at Heian Ciemnosc. His bodily strength wasn’t the only problem… his mere offensive capabilities were a nemesis even for a tough Race with innate talent like the Colgovas!

FUTOMP… On the other hand, Heian Ciemnosc stopped after a couple thousand kilometers. His body uncontrollably rotated and spun until he forced himself to a stop. But even then, he continued flying away for a few more kilometers until his body stopped moving. The forced halt only helped him stop rotating and spinning.

“Ahh…” Heian Ciemnosc felt like he lay in bed, looking at the ceiling and sore, but he rapidly faced Landa’s direction. Then, he smiled. His left chest had a wide gash, nearly cutting his shoulder off his torso, also extended over his collarbone and close to his neck.

… … … …!

“Huh?” Landa looked below her in the direction of her groin, 200 meters before her. Suddenly, a dark whip appeared, hidden from her sight and Spirit Sense to her adverse knowledge! She immediately sent a ray of violet lightning to deviate it since it always retreated no matter how hard or softly she slapped it. As long as she diverted elsewhere.

FLAP! However, as she sent that ray of violet lightning, Heian Ciemnosc moved his dark tail again, and he felt his stomach emptying as he moved towards his left. Landa suddenly saw the ark whip’s overextended body move to her right and saw Heian Ciemnosc’s insane speed again. “!”

‘How long can this extend for? Infinitely? How can this happen?! That’s absurd!’ Landa thought as she frowned. One had to know she and Heian Ciemnosc were nearly 4,000 km away from the other. The reason was the dark whip wasn’t swatted away but instead changed directions in a semi-circle before shooting to her right knee with a speed that wasn’t there before!

COIL~! “!!” Landa’s expression fell as she felt the dark whip’s tight hold on her right shin. Before she had any chance to struggle, her body was flung away, and she could only rapidly form seals with her hands as her Spirit Aspect followed after her. Violet Lightning Energy condensed endlessly, as if she had an infinite tank in her Dantian, and started creating a plethora of Fauna from her violet Lightning Energy. Her violet skin became slightly lighter and paler as she did, but feeling the danger she was in, she didn’t stop.

“...” Heian Ciemnosc looked up as the initially 1 violet dot he intended to attract became hundreds, then thousands, then tens of thousands… Before long, over 100,000 violet lightning figures appeared above Heian Ciemnosc and moved towards him from above his current position.

When only a few kilometers remained before they met again, Heian Ciemnosc’s countenance glowed with an intense violet glow, while Landa was like an angel followed by a million celestial soldiers. His stern countenance and her savage expression painted a divine masterpiece, but their subsequent actions were more than heavenly.

SWISH- CLAW!! PSHASH PSHASH PSHASH- SWUOOOOOOOSHHHHHHHHH~~!! PLAAAAAAAAANKK!! CRAAASSSSSSSHHH!!!- POM POM POM PAM- BAAAAAAANG! ZZZZZZZZAP! ZAP ZAP ZAP ZAP ZAP ZAP ZAP!~!!~!!!

Heian Ciemnosc became the number 1 enemy of countless ‘enemies’ before him. Just as he dragged Landa with his Vocón Link towards him, a hundred manta rays got in between and immediately flew him away, traveling hundreds of meters per second. Heian Ciemnosc’s Spirit Sense saw Landa remaining in the same pose as behind as other violet lightning-based Fauna moved to hold his Vocón Link and stop it from pulling her away.

He immediately clawed at the manta rays, destroying them one by one with each forceful attack. Heian Ciemnosc was selective and looked for weak points at first, but as he finished with the manta rays, flood dragons flew towards him and sacrificed their violet lightning bodies to strike him before trying to entrap him with their bodies.

Heian Ciemnosc started growing slightly hectic as he clawed at anything his claws could reach and received countless violet lightning streaks on his body. His claws deviated some, but his pale body resisted most. When he bit and clawed the last violet lightning flood dragon, he tugged his Vocón Link and was met with diverse Fauna.

Lions, aquatic, aerial, golems, humanoid, and even mere weapon-shaped violet lightning attacks. Before long, as Heian Ciemnosc faced dozens of such at the same time, attacking him altogether, his arms and legs grew feral, and his jaws had never bit so much and so hard before, not even when he was persecuted by hundreds of thousands of cultivators in the Sinvonnia Kingdom.

‘Kill, eat, kill, eat, kill, eat!! Eat!! EAT!’ Heian Ciemnosc’s thoughts changed his actions. He fell into a full-fledged feral state as his claws waved everywhere, endlessly shining dark, shining in the blackness of the universe.

“!!” Landa watched Heian Ciemnosc as he rushed towards her, cleaning her violet lightning as she had to start sending those violet lightning figures around her. She looked at Heian Ciemnosc and rapidly thought of things as he came a kilometer closer and closer to her, and her violet lightning figures lasted less and less against him.

Although the damage they did to him remained, he still chased after her, and his breathing was even while his jaws chomped on hundreds of violet lightning Fauna. And while her figures started self-exploding near him and creating chain reactions to harm him more, Heian Ciemnosc didn’t slow down and only grew more feral even as his bones peeked from his skull, forearms, shins and up, sides, back, front, and some of his organs peeked out from within as if they were severely disarranged.

“!” ZZZZZAP!!!~!!!

Landa felt the Vocón Link gripping her slide down slightly, just a centimeter. It happened as 2 chain reactions’ worth of explosions resounded with Heian Ciemnosc below them. Her clouds had started dwindling, so she didn’t hesitate to turn around and flee with half her violet lightning Fauna following her sides and behind her.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ…

“Huff! HUFF… HAH- HUFF…” Heian Ciemnosc’s figure was revealed after the explosions’ subsided. His torso heavily breathed, and the sides of his arms no longer had pale skin. The center of the back of his legs was equally only bone, with muscle and flesh scrapped off his body.

“...” Heian Ciemnosc looked at the departing Landa and breathed twice before the shadow of his dark tail’s 7th tail showed. It flickered out and remained as a 6 meters dark tail as Heian Ciemnosc flapped it again with nearly all remaining dark Neutral Energy used up. But his bodily strength was still abundant!

PEEEEEEEW~~~~!... And the direction Landa flew was… the 4th line battlefield column.
