The War Is Over!
Nobody had the time to react. Before they knew it, Heian Ciemnosc's right palm ejected a dark whip that immediately reached before the bald man floating above his people. But the dark whip didn't strike Gasimeras, who had already condensed his Wind elemental particles and Vigor Energy to protect his abdomen, the dark whip's seemingly target. Instead, the dark whip stopped half a meter before Gasimeras.
Pop! Fwup… PUUUNCH~~~~~~!
Dark Vigor Energy surrounded the dark whip from the tip to where Heian Ciemnosc was floating. It took the shape of a rapier, with its circular base covering Heian Ciemnosc’s body three times over. However, not even 1 second went, allowing the others to appreciate the beauty of such detailed Art, when ‘something’ traveled from the handle to the dark whip’s tip as thin as a needle.
“!” Heian Ciemnosc appeared out of nowhere as that seemingly something bout of dark, electrifying energy passed through the rapier’s blade. With a cute popping sound, he emerged from the dark Vigor Energy, right-punching towards Gasimeras, who had no time to react.
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSHH- WHIIIIIISTLE~!
Gasimeras was sent flying. 300,000 kg of bodily strength destroyed any pretense of the speech and aura he was building. His body flew backwards into the sky 20 kilometers before stopping with a reverberating ‘FUTOMP!’ as the other Farsighted realm experts looked at him.
The south’s side was flabbergasted, while the north’s side was shocked before growing incessantly contented. Their leading figure was actually not in the Farsighted realm… he was a Bright realm expert! A Grand Spirit cultivator appeared in the Calatida Region in its restoration stage. How could that be?!
“He ordered you to attack! Why aren’t you killing these people yet?!” Tulla fiercely shouted while everyone was looking at Gasimeras as if he was the monster instead. Barely anyone noticed Heian Ciemnosc besides Tulla, who immediately yelled in rage upon seeing her side stunned for no reason.
PSHIFT~! Tulla hesitated no more and flew towards an enemy who was silently laughing his ass off, elderly, and was surrounded by a few other Farsighted realm experts. She wasn’t left alone, as 6 Officers immediately flew with her and got busy with the enemies around her target. PSHIFT, PSHIFT, PSHIFT, PSHIFT, PSHIFT, PSHIFT…
“Guahaaaaaa!” - “Raaaawhh!” - “ROAAAR~!” - “Piss off!”
The battle erupted in the least expected manner, as Heian Ciemnosc looked at Gasimeras, and Gasimeras returned the glare. The enemy cultivators surged with battle spirit as they felt in high fervor and cried for the battle to commence. The Officers who followed Tulla felt annoyed by their shouting and howling as they sent 2 cultivators flying several kilometers away before the vice commanders and other Officers swarmed towards the enemy.
PSHIIIIIIIFT~! HUASHA- SHAA- SHAAA- SHAAAAA! Hundreds of kilometers above the ground level, kilometers-long Fauna-shaped, weapon-shaped, and torrents made from Vigor Energy or Elemental Arts dominated the skies, painting the corners of everyone’s bodies with colors and blinding lights. Blood wasn’t spilling out yet, but the battle had just started, and the southerners were adamant, although they were in a stalemate with the enemy’s rising morale.
WHOOOSH…
“...” Heian Ciemnosc floated between the blinding lights and fearsome Arts without a care, rapidly yet slowly inching towards Gasimeras whose quickened breath didn’t slow down after a few minutes since Heian Ciemnosc forced him backwards. For a while, the blood that he nearly spitted out remained just where his throat ended and his mouth commenced.
Meanwhile, the battle between the highest seats in the Region broke out. Yet, unlike what Gasimeras had thought before, he didn’t feel confident. His state of mind was ruptured, and he felt as if he could not see any easy or smooth method to fight this battle. He looked at Heian Ciemnosc wearily.
“You’re a Grand Spirit, congratulations,” Heian Ciemnosc arrived 10 meters before Gasimeras and spoke softly, caressing Vocón Link that shrunk to only 2 feet long. Gasimeras looked at Heian Ciemnosc, whose body was never affected by the incoming Arts’ shockwaves or direct hits, from which many of his cultivators fell in disadvantage from trying to hurt this… black monster.
“And you… are just as the rumors said,” Gasimeras didn’t mind the shakiness of his voice. He looked down at Heian Ciemnosc who didn’t bother to float upwards to meet him face to face. “You’re one realm below mine… but you can threaten me!”
Gasimeras’s voice was a little venomous. Who wouldn’t feel jealous, envious, and wanting to kill Heian Ciemnosc for daring to possess such power? But all Heian Ciemnosc did was look at Gasimeras with upturned eyes and calmly say, “I understand where your sudden hatred for me comes from, but… Being a Bright realm 2nd stage cultivator at 50,000 years old isn’t really… interesting. Come, let me train a little. I didn’t let you live so long for no reason.”
“...” Gasimeras wasn’t convinced. His face became disgusted, looking at Heian Ciemnosc with his breathing quickening again and a tinge of fury in his eyes. He swung his right hand as a small saber appeared and conveyed his thoughts, “Heng, black monster is mighty. But he will perish today! The strength and defense a Bright realm…”
“Oh, ugh…” Heian Ciemnosc lifted his chin and swagged his head, rolling his darkest eyes before stepping up like walking up the stairs with his right leg. Immediately after, ‘pshift- click’ sounds echoed as he went Claws Out and his dark tail slapped the air, 2 meters long.
DASH! SWIFP~! Heian Ciemnosc gave no more words and dashed through the air, lunging at Gasimeras. Gasimeras didn’t dare slight Heian Ciemnosc’s every action. Heian Ciemnosc could feel Gasimeras’s Spirit Sense raining everywhere around his body as the small saber was lightly swung, tickling Heian Ciemnosc’s ears, making his eyebrows twitch.
CUH! SWOOSH! CLAANK~!
Heian Ciemnosc leaned his body rightwards and threw his left claw upwards to divert the small saber away, but Gasimeras avoided those dark claws, which sent fearsome ripples in his heart. Immediately after, the small saber was retracted and thrust towards Heian Ciemnosc, but its aim was behind Heian Ciemnosc’s neck. Yet, Heian Ciemnosc’s sudden movement caused a plethora of ethereal saber blades, suddenly emerging around the small saber fail to cut a strand of his hair.
Heian Ciemnosc swung his right claw at Gasimeras’s left hip, but a bout of Wind and Vigor Energy sent his right claw flying backwards. Yet, Heian Ciemnosc swung his right knee upwards, connecting it with Gasimeras’s belly on the left side as Heian Ciemnosc could hear the wonderful noise of breaking from it.
The small blade changed trajectory and aimed at Heian Ciemnosc’s left side. He used his right knee on his enemy’s belly to impulse his body 20 meters backwards in a moment’s notice. Heian Ciemnosc avoided the small saber just as a few saber blades appeared around it. This was not just any Art, or Supreme Art for that matter. It was a mix between a Supreme Art and Spirit Aspect!
… … … … TRUCK! WHIIIIIIIISTLE~!
Heian Ciemnosc sent his dark whip forth with his right hand. Gasimeras rapidly slashed from the below to up to block it, but the dark whip shot several meters beside his body, so nothing hit nothing. Vocón Link ‘grappled’ the air and became stuck. Before Gasimeras could react, his eyes opening wide, Heian Ciemnosc’s body jerked his body towards him.
Gasimeras exploded with Wind elemental particles and Vigor Energy to fly backwards, facing Heian Ciemnosc. His small saber gained enough inertia to face Heian Ciemnosc as he thrust it again towards the black monster’s chest. But Heian Ciemnosc projected his waist forwards while kicking with his left foot, aiming its sole at Gasimeras’s neck.
“!” Gasimeras’s eyes strengthened as he poured everything he had into his right arm, jabbing his small saber further towards Heian Ciemnosc. Heian Ciemnosc’s darkest eyes remained calm as his body nearly stretched from head to toe, leaving him in an awkward position.
But this position was precisely what allowed him to avoid the incoming small saber, as saber blade upon saber blade appeared around the real weapon. On the other hand, just as Gasimeras formed a victorious grin, seeing Heian Ciemnosc’s body about to be blocked, and he was about to avoid another attack, his eyes widened. His face fell when he felt something hit his whole torso.
PAAAAAMMM~~!!
Heian Ciemnosc’s left leg formed a monstrous dark Vigor Energy claw that struck Gasimeras’s torso from below. Gasimeras barely spouted an arrow of blood before his body flew a hundred kilometers into the sky.
“!!” - “!!!”
The other Farsighted realm experts stopped for a few seconds and looked at the contrail Gasimeras left behind. Heian Ciemnosc remained on the spot where he kicked Gasimeras. Dark blobs escaped his eyes as they chased after Gasimeras. When Heian Ciemnosc flew towards him a few seconds later, the Farsighted realm cultivators continued their battle.
“Huaaaaaa!!” - “Supreme commander is invincible, haha!” - “Bow before your demise, pigs!” - “HUAA!”

The southerners became inspired, but the Officers and vice commanders’ words caused them to grow bold as they aggressively launched themselves against the enemy, halting the enemy’s rising morale and finally spilling blood, albeit for both sides.
Conversely, the soldier units from both sides faced each other from both sides of the brand-new canyon. When Gasimeras was sent flying, the northerners felt a hollow hole in their sternum. On the contrary, the southerners felt a rising pleasure in their heads.
“To waaaaar!!” Someone shouted at that moment. She lifted her right-handed knife into the sky before taking a step forwards. She was immediately followed by her soldier units, who were equally followed by their comrades as the southerner frontline advanced from the middle, covering the canyon from a fourth point from the sky.
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOSHHHH- WHOOOOSHHH~~~~~~!!!!!!
Nearly 900,000,000 Mythical realm cultivators gradually moved out of their reposing positions and flew into the canyon. The canyon was immediately shared and distributed with countless soldier units in the sky, others at the walls, and more on the ground. The majority of the battlefield and its most intense points were between both canyons’ sides in the middle.
It wasn’t that it was messy, but rather, both sides tried to spearhead into the other’s lines. But they failed and were interjected by a large group from the other side. They could only stop and fight it out then and there. Even then, they weren’t disorganized, and they were constantly strategizing and mobilizing their individual, smaller battlefields within the battlefield, which spanned over hundreds of kilometers wide and tens of thousands of kilometers long.
The Medium City’s walls were flooded with the inhabitants living inside it. They stared at both sides worriedly. At first, they were only nervous about their northern army. But then, seeing the insane magnitude of this battlefield, they felt sorrowful that many would die just for the sake of ruling over this little 2* Region.
As for Gasimeras, they couldn’t see that far, and the canyon was the only ginormous landscape that became colored with countless ‘ants’ covering it from their view.
… PSHIIIIIIFT- WHIIIIIISTLE- PSHIFT- BAM! PLACK~!
… Anastasia was fighting 2 Mythical realm 1st stage cultivators with 10 soldier units backing her up. She shouldn’t have become this active, but with their side being lesser than the enemy, even just herself should work until her body is exhausted, and her mind is depleted. But just then, a solid, Earth spearhead enhanced Neutral Energy the size of a 1-story building flew towards her.
But then, another energy bout came from nowhere and seamlessly destroyed the spearhead aimed at Anastasia’s nape, just as she noticed it and her pitch-black eyes trembled, fully opened. She sent several roots to surprise and entangle one Mythical realm cultivator, stabbing his chest before flying backwards to meet with her savior.
“Young Miss, I won’t protect you, but I’ll eliminate any threat from improper cultivators. Go ahead, I will bring my assassins with you.” Molto lowered her head slightly and said those words. Her head was covered with an anti-Spirit Sense Sky grade equipment, which Anastasia liked as it reminded her of her father.
“En!” Anastasia nodded before flying forwards, bringing her 90,000 soldier units with her. Throughout the war, Anastasia lost her people daily. Even then, 10,000 casualties after 12 years in a Third Step war was definitely above an excellent commandeering.
“...” Molto couldn’t help noticing the grin and excitement in Anastasia’s pitch-black eyes, desiring battle, returning after the scare. She felt that anyone related to Heian Ciemnosc could be a warrior, and negligibly shook her head before following in the same direction but touring slightly to the sides. Blurred shadows followed after her as they seemingly disappeared from the naked eyesight and hid from Spirit Sense, careful not to be seen.
BAAAAAAAAANNNNGGGG~~~!!!
“?!” - “?!?!” - “!?!?!?!” Suddenly, there was a tiny moment where everyone could hear something coming. Before they knew it, missiles rained down in concrete locations where there were only enemies. More than that, a few thousand missiles focused on forming a path from the south to the middle of the battlefield. And then, from the fire, a few hundreds of thousands of cultivators rushed to battle in a conjoint formation.
“It’s them!!” - “They’ve arrived!!” - “Cavalry has arrived, hahahahahaha!!” The southern soldier units looked at the newcomers and felt elated. On the other hand, although they couldn’t discern what was happening, the northern soldier units felt an incoming sense of… utter, one-sided onslaught.
“Our brethren! Open a distance, let us IIIN!!!” One of the new-coming elite soldier units roared as they formed a line and dashed across the air, severing enemy military units without stop. Wherever they passed, they didn’t need to stop for even a second to end the enemy cultivators, bathing them in hundreds of different Arts and protecting their comrades with even more.
“AAAAAHH!” - “No… no… way- NO- AAAAAAAGGGHHH!” - “This is it… no matter! Stand up! Fight with me! AAAH! To the death!!”
The tables turned just half an hour after the battle commenced. Corpses, limbs, flesh, organs, bones, and even hair and graded equipment fell from the sky as the soldier units from both sides fighting on the ground were endangered by the other side, and those falling objects. But this had already started, and even with the south’s elite soldier units, it would be a long while before a decisive moment emerged.
…WHOOOSH- PAAAAH! CLANK- CLUNK CLUNK- CLIIIINK- SHRIILLLL~~! PAH!
… In the skies, Heian Ciemnosc had danced with Gasimeras around the Medium City’s perimeter, a few thousand kilometers above the ground level. The situation below didn’t escape their Spirit Sense, but neither did the Farsighted realm experts’ battle. The latter was a brutal sight as a dozen southern Farsighted realm cultivators had already fallen, but 20 northerners had also met their ends, and the rest were gradually heavily injured.
“Haah!” Heian Ciemnosc rushed with his 3 meters long dark tail slapping the space behind him. Gasimeras howled as he poured wind blades towards Heian Ciemnosc, whose length was several hundred meters, and Heian Ciemnosc needed to constantly claw at to destroy. Dozens of such wind blades flew towards him, but Heian Ciemnosc let them cut open his dark clothes and overly pale skin as he forced the bald man to choke in his howl.
After rapidly approaching Gasimeras, Heian Ciemnosc feigned attacks with both his darkened palms and a swipe from his right claw, making Gasimeras rapidly slash his small saber to block him, but cutting only air as a result. With a slight grin, Heian Ciemnosc’s right ribs ejected Vocón Link, which struck Gasimeras’s left chest with a palm strike, formed by Vocón Link’s coiling around its end.
Heian Ciemnosc grabbed Gasimeras’s right heel before he was sent flying. Like this, Heian Ciemnosc didn’t need to chase his prey. He lightly smiled, but Gasimeras felt different. His chest sunk. His body had already been broken of his inner crystallized armor everywhere by now. Then, he suddenly felt his left foot cut and bleed.
“Cough!”
More blood came from Gasimeras’s mouth as he looked at Heian Ciemnosc. He couldn’t read the black monster’s small stage level, but he felt that Heian Ciemnosc’s battle prowess was at the peak of the Bright realm 3rd stage, or Silhouette realm, for that matter.
“Heian Ciemnosc, wait- please…” Gasimeras blocked a slow-coming right claw towards him before being forced to slide his small blade between the dark claws. Meanwhile, Heian Ciemnosc stood on Gasimeras’s thighs with his darkened feet and stabbed 10 holes into his flesh. He looked at Gasimeras with a calm expression.
That only made Gasimeras vomit a little more blood, but he steeled his pain and tried convincing Heian Ciemnosc in a brotherly tone. “We fought on the same side decades ago… Didn’t you say it yourself? We’re from the same Existence. I’ve made some mistakes, but they’re unimportant! We can solve this better! Our people won’t have to die!!”
“... “ Heian Ciemnosc just said nothing. He stared at Gasimeras as he lowered his body and put more force into his claws. That look, and those darkest eyes, made Gasimeras feel cold with no chance to ever speak in his life, or what was left from it.
“Aaagh!” Gasimeras felt his thighs penetrated. Heian Ciemnosc’s hind dark claws fully stabbed into them as he retracted his fore claws, and his gaze intensified as he changed their flying trajectory to above the Medium City’s southern gates.
Heian Ciemnosc lowered his blackened right hand’s back on Gasimeras’s lower belly before cutting upwards. Gasimeras’s eyes widened as he flew away from the Medium City with 5 long cuts on his front. However, he seemed to see a thin, dark line curving from below to behind him as his feet’s soles faced the City. His eyes gave up before Heian Ciemnosc transported his body via that dark whip behind him and palmed his back.
“Kuagh!” Gasimeras vomited yet another bout of blood as he stopped flying backwards. The kilometer he rapidly crossed, suddenly stopping, made his head spin, but he wasn’t focused on that sensation. He heard Heian Ciemnosc’s calm voice behind him as he contemplated the Medium City he built. “Isn’t it just a City? To make a Medium City in a 2* Region just because it’s an Upper Kingdom… It’s too much, isn’t it? No matter how one sees it.”
“Everyone is allowed to dream…!” Gasimeras uninhibitedly retorted, seemingly finding his imminent end rather peaceful. Heian Ciemnosc nodded, which Gasimeras felt from the darkened let hand grabbing his clothes, flesh, and left shoulder blade. “It’s true, but that doesn’t give you any rights or favors. The world owes you nothing. You took from the world. Oh. But it doesn’t matter.”
“Hey, one last thing before anything else,” Heian Ciemnosc immediately spoke after berating Gasimeras and who knew who else, or who many else. Gasimeras felt his body spin by Heian Ciemnosc’s darkened hand. He felt confused.
“Your Grotto’s treasures and the payment the Toreon Clan gave you, and this can be considered over. I won’t pursue your organization. I will have time in the future, and you’re their leader, yet I am here…” Heian Ciemnosc looked at Gasimeras in the face, slightly lower in the air than him.
“... No,” Gasimeras silently echoed after falling silent with a distraught expression. Heian Ciemnosc didn’t give it any further thoughts and shrugged, “Oh, well.”
PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMM~~~!!! CRAAAAAASSSSSSHHHH~~~!!!
“!!!” - “!!!”
Suddenly, just as the battle continued everywhere, with less than 10 enemy Farsighted realm cultivators remaining, and the enemy army slowly falling to the 400,000,000 soldier units mark, and the inhabitants atop the City walls. Everyone looked high above their heads. However, they couldn’t see what happened. Only a long contrail several thousand kilometers long from the sky, towards the City’s south, was visible.
“AAAAH!!” - “NOOOO!!!
Lamentably, the place where that contrail was sent happened to be a refugee bunker, where tens of thousands of inhabitants fearfully waited for the outcome. The inhabitants atop the walls were left terrorized, as if every strand of hair on their bodies was painfully pulled, with their senses heightened. But just then…
WHISTLE~!!!!!- BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNGGG~~!!!!!
Just as Heian Ciemnosc kicked Gasimeras with his right heel in a swift movement where the latter could only widen his eyes halfway through before blasting into the Medium City's southern districts. When Gasimeras bounced half a meter from the tough ground, Heian Ciemnosc extended his dark tail and immediately shot towards Gasimeras.
Gasimeras was still alive, but only a few moments, without Heian Ciemnosc’s intervention. He looked at the black monster for who he was… a monster.
Then, Heian Ciemnosc’s right claw bombarded the City’s ground with Gasimeras’s body, breaking who knew how many shelters, bunkers, and leveling down the City for several tens of kilometers. The towering buildings fell one after another, with others just breaking apart midways towards the ground.
The ‘king’ was dead, but the war… from the looks of it, wasn’t over. The crestfallen northerners wanted to surrender, but the southerners claimed lives like the light leaves for the night, and the night gives rise to an emotion. Fear.
…
