The Other Side
"Any one of you here," the elder began as he looked around at those below with semi closed and narrowed eyes, "I can see that you have decided to remain here instead of fleeing like headless flies and for a traitor to his own sect. A traitor to the always strongest major organization in the entire world since ever!!"
Though the last comment from the old man resulted in some of the other floating cultivators secretly looking at the elder with doubt and some disdain as well as disgust, the elder himself continued as if that was just nothing. "That Ciemnosc has already left you. He didn't even leave anything to protect you or to say something in order to save yourselves. You are all alone, and that fine little monster has made a fool out of all of you!"
“Ran for his life and left others to die, is that how you see a hero?!” The elder dramatically added, “He has made you his slaves for too long, now is time for you to no longer contain your fury and shame, that embarrassment you’ve suffered under his hands. You can give it back to me! Now, who can tell m-”
Step step step step! Whoosh… tap tap- slide~.
“Aauyio, shut your trap, you old monster.” Suddenly, from a trapdoor that led to a compartment underground, Schnell made an act of presence at last, his speed naturally being amazing, and with some other cultivators closer to that trapdoor having sweat all over their bodies. Saying so, Schnell immediately made the old man angry deep inside. Though his clever self hid it well and even remained composed.
But the elder remained composed, and the others were flying as well since they didn’t want to interrupt this old man’s thoughts, lest he punish them for his own senile self. The elder still seemed to notice something, as he pointed with his right finger to a sweat cultivator breathing heavily but somewhat hiding his chest that was heavily breathing in and out, like a few others.
“You, what are you sweating for? How come you are so scared. Wasn’t that Ciemnosc who always tortured his own prisoners?!” The elder elevated his voice at the end of these words, still trying to get these disciples to give it all up. But the trooper he selected was just one of Schnell’s dozens of men and women who didn’t even need to look at anyone else nor to think before starting to answer how one is supposed to.
“How can I be scared of you, esteemed elder?” The trooper said, barely a Spirit Gathering realm 5th stage, making the elder visibly pleased, which could be seen slightly from the latter’s eyes. But then… “When all of you are just a huge piece of manure, and all of you together form a beautiful land of muck? At most, I can only worry you’ll come any closer~!”
“Hahahaha!” - “I always knew the sect was in the wrong!” - “Take that! Fuck your momma, ‘respected elder’! Hahahaha…” - “Gottem~~...” - “Look at his face, look at his face! I bet he really, really wanna kill us all now, ahahahahahah~!”
“...” The elder was already speechless with they the kind of response he received, but those around him were already too shocked to even respond. How come a mere useless piece of… shit— ? —that is as worthless as a mortal like this cultivator down below dared to say such things to an elder of the Self-Mutilating Honores Sect?!
Has the strongest sect fallen out with its own people, or is it just that their prestige has become really this low? But, whatever it was…
“You…” Seething with rage deep inside, but so much that his heart thumped, and it made the old man start seeing blurry. All despite being a cultivator… He pointed at Schnell, who had been walking towards the center of a couple of tens of thousands of troopers, with those sweaty ones still near the trapdoor.
“Hmm?” Not stopping, Schnell continued to step forwards. And while he did so, the elder’s body began trembling with seething, boiling and piping with rage evermore. His neck was somewhat uncomfortable, his head already shaking left and right and a bit up and down while his hands were directly trembling with his whole arms swaying from time to time. “What have you done just now? Don’t you see you’ve misled all these people? Where is your Identification Token, and why can’t I find it in any of you?!”
Step step step, step… tap tap.
“I thought you had felt something. You made me sweat a little,” Schnell finally stopped walking, turned around, and faced the elder - old man in the sky. Showing his left index fingertip, which had run through the back of his right ear, Schnell showed a droplet of barely visible ‘water’. Then, he simply flicked it with his thumb helping to catapult that droplet of sweat up into the air.
Crazily enough, it was somewhat capable of not bursting nor dissipating as it rapidly made its way up, and when the elder finally noticed it with his Spirit Sense, it was already going too fast for some reason and he wasn’t able to dodge it. However, just as it was about to reach his Cloudless Eagle’s chest, the water droplet made an arch backwards to where the Little Lake could be seen. And then finally dissipated once it was a few tens of meters above the elder.
“What do you think that was?!” The elder raged, never feeling so humiliated before in his life, so mocked and so… ashamed with his body being played with like that. It was, of course, the elder being the other party and those with lower cultivation the ones suffering from him. “Give me your head, kid. Today is the day you all criminals die THEN!!”
Ting~...
A small sound resounded while those below were all silent, looking up defiantly and reminding those who had killed the previous cultivators of the very same kind of facial expressions and light in their eyes overall. Already being silent though, those above dared not speak out for the elder who had given the order, and they were all about to send a deathly technique to end them all. But.
“What is- how do you have that saber?! What did you do to Oscar?” The elder who had given the ‘kill order’ already suddenly said, his 2 hands pointing at Schnell, who took out a saber. One that his precious Commander gave him… And when Schnell heard the elder’s words, he shook his head as he slowly came to kneel, “Tsk tsk, tsk. I always knew you elders and anything else from the sect were in the wrong.”
“...” Schnell began to look up with his head slowly moving, his eyes landing on the sky rather than any so-called apex of the entire world, an Obsidiafying realm cultivator. And then, he slowly reverse grasped the saber’s handle, slowly letting it fall where the Obsidiafying realm cultivators couldn’t see. “I never would have thought you were all just… this worthless, too.”
“...?” The elder tried seeing where Schnell was stabbing the saber too, the saber taking his eyes’ full attention since the moment it appeared, and nothing being capable enough of hiding it from his confused mind whose questions were seemingly being answered with each passing second.
“STOP HIM!” Suddenly, the elder began to feel a warmth that came from the west but felt a cold on his feet. It was a strange sensation that had already spread through the rest of the Obsidiafying realm cultivators and even some of the acting elders, clergy elders, and so on. It was just that the elder hadn’t noticed due to his increasingly, uncontrollable rage.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.
However, just when the elder ordered, letting many Obsidiafying realm cultivators confused, half of them still mobilized with their followers and rushed into the crowd, directly towards Schnell and just about to reach him with only a few meters left between those at the very front diving down at the ground and the ground with Schnell on it himself while being protected by all nearby troopers.
At that very moment, ‘he’ looked up, and seeing the already late morning deep, clear blue sky, ‘he’ muttered out while the Mortal saber in his hands fully fell into what seemed like a yellowish ant hill with only one large, wide circular entrance leading all the way down somewhere and for some reason. Suddenly, ‘his’ hair seemed to grow, like the tendrils of darkness itself as it grew to a medium length for a female and up to down ‘his’ elbows.
“I would like to be with you in the next life… next time, next time.”
… Underground just as a hopeless fight against survival was coming to be on the surface and as soon as steel with such incredible properties made contact with a Supreme grade Powerful Stone, the arrays it was connected to began to quickly light up, and the hundreds of thousands of Powerful Stones all littered under the whole stronghold began to twinkle with silver.
This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.
There were hundreds of thousands of Inferior grande Powerful Stones all set underground. Which had been on the work of setting them like so for days already, and Schnell and a few others had finished just a couple of minutes before being suddenly attacked by Obsidiafying realm and Conflagrate realm cultivators whereas Schnell and his people didn’t even have a Conflagrate realm cultivator, to begin with.
But they were not complete; there were chunks, halves of Inferior grade Powerful stones and even smallish, little pieces of the already tiny thingies - and they were all over the place, underground the stronghold and as many as rats in other cities of ordinary people. When they were being lighted up, their silver color emanated stronger and stronger from each chunk, a half or smallish little piece of such.
From just having a portion of a whole Inferior Powerful Stone, each of these came to shine as strongly and abundantly as a full, complete Inferior Powerful Stone. And then, it was then that their glow became even more powerful, as a dull, steel color began to fuse with all of these. The Supreme Powerful Stone, which began cracking open by the Mortal saber began losing its steel glow and even began to crack… on its own.
“Haaufh…” One last, heavy and ragged sigh sounded from the already initiated battlefield. Schnell could feel her eyes growing sorrowful… But at least her heart and mind were at ease, ‘Best of luck, Commander.’
. . .
On the waters of the Little Lake, on top of a floating larger armored vehicle than any other with 3 cannons on top with a figure standing still on it and looking back towards the overall east.
“...” Ciemnosc was looking down, worried eyebrows that weren’t wrinkled on his face above his darkest eyes, gazing at the stronghold that wasn’t even that visible in the distance; his creations weren’t that sophisticatedly tall nor showy from a large distance - just efficient enough was sufficient. Though he also realized how difficult it was now to get to sight even the stronghold which is the largest creation of is so far. So far…
… Brrtrrr… VI-POI VI-POI VI-POI VI-POI POO- POOM- PPOOM- PPPOOOM- PPPOOOM~!
From so far away, tens and even more than a hundred kilometers away added to those tens of kilometers, Ciemnosc could see an ever so tall— yet another —explosion that made a huge disorder out of all airflow and dirt surrounding such an explosion. A silver cloud that had a life of its own moved and flew the highest possible up in the air, covering all of the other little people Ciemnosc could see from this distance.
Whoosh, splash splash splash- gurgle~!! Taka tret thud~.
The explosion was so massive that the explosive waves made the Elements around become crazed with lust as if it was raining nutrition. And from such, Ciemnosc’s eyes went cold for a moment. The waters becoming much crazier by the few seconds suddenly turned still, the air rushing about everywhere began to recede and go back to its own pathways up in the air and there was a kind of silent melody and harmony that echoed through and through.
But while he did, Ciemnosc felt his body stumble around a little bit, his commanding vehicle that had nothing to command. As for Ciemnosc’s eyes, they became lifeless as he then turned around. The moment he turned around was also the moment his commanding vehicle had already landed on the shore and was trying to come up the slope into the Little Lake.
Or out of it for this matter. And as Ciemnosc received from his commanding tool, no longer an Identification Token, notifications and requests of his commanding vehicle to either change course and continue floating somewhere some another direction. Or to directly go back to its on-land mode and then finally stop struggling to get on land.
Deciding to go on land, the commanding vehicle began to store its bubble-shaped features and for a lot of water to come out from the wheels, front and rear alike as if there had been some stored within the bubble-shaped compartments. While that happened, the commanding vehicle returned to its wheels and began going up the slope and Ciemnosc, who was on top of its ceiling could see the lands of the west that had been barely seen by himself before.
Pum… … pum… … pum… pum… boom boom booom… crassshhh~.
From the Little Lake though, Ciemnosc heard more sounds and naturally turned around. With his own eyes, he was able to see how just a little over half a dozen ships sailed around fast and nimbly through the Little Lake’s waters. Cannons on them began shooting at the sky, leaving the sky riddled with pure energy explosions that sometimes detonated before their timing was out, indicating their target was successfully hit but not dead still.
Though Conflagrate realm cultivators even at the peak seemed to be helpless against these cannons, the Obsidiafying realm cultivators seemed to be alright and fine dealing with them. Even receiving a direct hit from them wasn’t that perilous to them. Let alone whenever these enraged and hurried, anxious Obsidiafying realm cultivators block and deviate such powerful pure energy blasting off at them.
Still, it did stop their advance as they tried to get Ciemnosc before something, not knowing that their target in question was already fine and standing on the ground of the west and on the other side of the Little Lake.
Ka-BOOOOM…
Even then, Ciemnosc heard even more explosions, one after another as the sounds of fighting between these armed ships and the flying Obsidiafying realm cultivators became closer and closer. And every time a ship exploded, on its own, which was every time one exploded for that matter… a smaller but identical silver cloud formed itself within the center towards the bow.
The ship itself became nothingness while the cannons within the explosion, to Ciemnosc’s understanding, also disintegrated despite their arrays and materials being good enough to resist the outburst of pure energy still inscribed on them and in them.
All in all, Ciemnosc could see how every single ship began to explode on its own whenever an Obsidiafying realm tried to board its ship. Even when they saw many of their own actually dying to another explosion of that terrifying silver, they still tried to ‘save’ those ships for getting merit and more benefits with the sect once the upper echelons arrived.
The elder was dead anyways, so whoever did best would be receiving a lot, it wasn’t just a guess as it has been like so for countless, countless years. Hence, as a result, the ships shooting at them all of the time and already slowing them down managed to make those Obsidiafying cultivators stop in their tracks and for at least 10 of them to die in the ships exploding purely to nothingness.
In the end, not a single Obsidiafying realm cultivator was killed or even severely injured with the cannons, which had nothing wrong and were exactly as powerful and efficient as Ciemnosc’s own cannons, so in a way it was nice that Ciemnosc never tried dealing with such a powerful cultivator before with them and even more so before he ‘ascended’ to such battle prowess.
Ciemnosc looked at the Little Lake, which had its last ship exploding to sweet nothing, only a few tens of kilometers away from the shore on the western side of the Little Lake. It was evidently the one with the fastest and nimblest of sailors; such capable people died just for the sake of allowing Ciemnosc to escape, just for that… just for that.
Whoosh, whoosh, whooosh fwahh.
Suddenly, as Ciemnosc was just no longer letting his commanding vehicle move further towards the west and had wasted quite a good time just looking back at the Little Lake, a hurrying, last figure flew towards him and stopped just right before where the shore began. The figure had abruptly stopped there and seemed to have found a barrier. It had a tiny bit of hair that looked more as if he had just painted a bout of fake hair onto his bald head.
Whoooosh- fwaah.
Just as the Obsidiafying realm cultivator in question was looking down at Ciemnosc from the air but from right before where the shore of the west commenced, his eyes bloody and really wanting to just lower himself down the air and take just some meters forward to catch Ciemnosc who was just 7 meters away from him; another hurrying cultivator came flying here mounted on her Cloudless Eagle and looked at the other elder without their mount just about to take many steps forward.
She also looked at Ciemnosc, who seemingly took a couple of a blade and a sword of top notch quality and held them in his hands, their tips aiming at the ground.
“Forget it. He’s in the west now.” The female elder said while the male elder looked back at her and at Ciemnosc over and over again, his mouth flying with saliva as he said. “I’ll just catch him, he’s right here!! There’s no way I can jus-”
“Forget it I said!” The female elder crazily spouted, barking at the male elder and making him retract his right hand wanting to make a grabbing motion towards Ciemnosc. Just that action alone left him sweating coldly. All along, though, Ciemnosc simply looked on with ultimately cold eyes at these people, seemingly the only ones alive after the successive events.
“Let’s go back, the upper echelons are already about to arrive. There are too many spies around and,” the female elder said, turning her head slowly at Ciemnosc and showing a brutal desire to tear his body into pieces and eat it; Ciemnosc lifted his right eyebrow. “He’s already too far away.”
Whoosh… … … … whoosh.
The female elder said and then left, at last. But the male elder continued to look at Ciemnosc some more, his eyes wishing they could just grow invisible hair or tentacles and just drag this criminal scum over! After some more staring, he left though leaving Ciemnosc alone as he still gazed at the Little Lake, never really at them in the first place.
Step, step… step.
“ Haeh!” Scorn was heard from behind as Ciemnosc looked at the Little Lake, he slowly turned his head around, and with his hands grasping the handles, he faced quite a damn large number of enemy disciples and believers that were, now, right in front of him. The core disciple who said that was from the Self-Mutilating Honores Sect and no one that Ciemnosc had ever seen before. He added, “I bet you never expected this.”
With a face full of scorn, the core disciple grinned from the left corner of his mouth, his eyes looking down at the pair of cute weapons in Ciemnosc’s hands. He chuckled and looked to the left towards half a million disciples and believers, adding, “Don’t tell me those were supposed to deal with our elders? Ahahaha…”
“Mm,” Ciemnosc responded flatly with his lips ‘mm’ing’ a little bit, then looking down at his sword and blade. After giving a look at the stupidly absurd number of enemies that were out there to kill him with his head raised up, Ciemnosc looked at the core disciple and responded with a charming grin, “I really, really glad you asked.”
