Chapter 39 — Higher Realms' Comprehension

Higher Realms' Comprehension

Ciemnosc and Wan Kangzhe then suddenly looked at each other without making any move, the crowd was also looking at both of them, and the silence within the arena, which has taken a huge importance all of a sudden seemed to also affect them. Every moment that passed, second that went by, and movement they did was easy, more so, seen through by these eyes, be it the physical-nearby or online crowd.

It was so much like that that the movements of Wan Kangzhe, slow and steady despite sustaining such injuries right off the bat were seen through the crowd’s eyes, let alone Ciemnosc’s, which were even better and was just 4 meters ‘behind’ the twistedly turned around teenager with his foot impaled.

Wan Kangzhe slowly moved his left hand, which had already let go of his right foot, closer to the left side of his body, while his right hand grasping his incredible Mortal grade weapon began to slowly head towards the sword which had him impaled. One only needed a few seconds. At most, of clarity to know what to do.

And just as Wan Kangzhe knew of such, just as the crowd also began understanding such with even the blondie and bronze creamy skinned young woman also not having thought of it just several seconds ago; just as Wan Kangzhe moved so slow that his intentions were obvious - Ciemnosc had always been waiting for him to begin as it was, for him, even more of an obvious ‘only way out’.

Wan Kangzhe drew his right blade in the air, coming closer to the sword’s handle, and just as he came about 10 cm close to it, he used all the strength he could muster without drawing it back and after slightly stopping for about a full minute to cut towards the sword impaling his foot!

Swish! -Wheeesh- clank! Whoosh!- cuuuh~~- Clank! Crushh~!

But before that Mortal grade weapon could arrive at the impaling sword’s hilt, another sword that Ciemnosc had just taken out was sent flying over and directly stopped the Mortal grade weapon from reaching that hilt. Wan Kangzhe seemed rather slowed by the previous few acts of pain and torture towards him, so even when his own Mortal grade blade was still going fast to crush the impaling sword; when it deviated and he was close to maiming his own right leg, he could stop in time.

Yep, by that time, and with the sword that deviated his Mortal grade blade flying into the air, ricocheting again such a powerful body of sharpness and resistance at the same time, much more than itself - was already picked up by the figure who occasioned a rush of the wind moving towards Wan Kangzhe. And in the next moment, a severe cut through the air was sent to swipe at Wan Kangzhe’s neck.

Only to be defeated, though, as the long swipe, which would’ve been at the very least enough to open up his skin and cut through someone’s weak jugular even when enhanced by his own Earth Element was blocked. The ordinary sword was almost fully broken instead, with ⅓ of its body from the tip directly crushing to pieces and the rest having long cracks almost reaching its handle.

But the very moment that Wan Kangzhe was able to block that blade, amazing himself as he felt blood rushing to his head, and even Ciemnosc was surprised. The broken blade flew towards Wan Kangzhe’s left leg and stabbed him fully. A few inches of the broken blade were seen through the other side before breaking when Wan Kangzhe began roaring a bit to empty air where Ciemnosc had already disappeared.

“UAAGH! Ciemnosc! You don’t ge-gasp huukhh!” Just as Wan Kangzhe, this teenager surrounded by very light green ‘air’ still and appearing quite a bit formidably crazy but still maintaining a just, stern, serious, and respectable appearance was roaring with a twisted face; Ciemnosc reappeared at his 20 with yet another sword coming to intercept his body!

Whoosh~, whoosh! Cuuh~, swish! Clank! Crack~...cuuh~, swish! Clank! Crack~, cuuh~, swish! Clank! Crack~! Clank! Crack~...

Ciemnosc’s figure behind Wan Kangzhe appeared better than the image of an assassin in many cultivators’ eyes. Even in some of the experienced disciples of the sect that had gone very far away from the sect and they faced the most terrible and comically disastrous events and had seen many things that other newbies and cowardly ones could never know of unless there was an actual and so very real war.

But once again, with Ciemnosc appearing in the behind-left position towards Wan Kangzhe, his brand new semi-broken sword was thrust right towards the teenager’s left sided lower back, where it would hurt a lung even if by a little when it came to Wan Kangzhe’s defenses.

Yet again, and even faster this time than at the second move of Wan Kangzhe’s blade, Ciemnosc was blocked off and even had almost the entire rest of his own sword right after having gotten rid of the already other broken sword coming towards his left leg. Wan Kangzhe had dealt with basically 2 attacks at almost the very same time!

Like this, Ciemnosc took out another sword, who knows when and hacked from below to up at Wan Kangzhe’s back only to be stopped by a hacking down blocking, semi offensive move from the latter’s Mortal graded blade, snapping the whole new sword into two. Which Ciemnosc's right way sent towards the sternum of the teenager before once again disappearing from his sight.

Wan Kangzhe dealt rapidly with the broken sword coming at his chest, turned a bit around, and his Mortal grade blade moved through the air in technique and skill much higher than Ciemnosc... Only to end up blocking a small little ball of clothing not even a baby’s pinky finger sized yet with the blade directly halving it.

And surprising the teenager well enough, from his left, an even seemingly stronger hack came down towards him with a Ciemnosc who had made a smallish jump of not even half a meter to create a powerful follow-up attack. Wan Kangzhe could only move his limbs faster, so he only got his right hand to change trajectory amidst his already other attacks still not finished.

Cuuh- crreeshhk!

“AAAH!” But it was too late as just when the Mortal grade blade was halfway through intercepting the ordinary top notch sword, the latter had already begun cutting through the left arm of the teenager, creating a gnash as thick as the blade itself and about half a meter long that extended from the arm to the left side of the teenager’s body.

It would’ve been a much larger gnash if it wasn’t because that damn Earth Elemental ‘air’ empowered this teenager. Ciemnosc’s sword was directly broken fully by the Mortal grade blade, which ended up moving to cut at the handle - which he quickly let go of and sacrificed.

The next moment, he reappeared a bit to the left from where Wan Kangzhe was facing and, taking another sword from his Covert Space bag with such precision, easiness, and calm, devoid of any panic, anxiousness, and restlessness; Ciemnosc thrust his sword yet again.

Clank! Clank! Clank! Crrreeesshhhhkk! Crush!

Ciemnosc’s sword was intercepted this time, and seemingly with utter precision as Wan Kangzhe looked so calm right now he almost rivaled Ciemnosc’s calmness, both appearing to be sparing without intending to kill each other’s dearest lives. But Ciemnosc’s sword, this time, not only did it not break, but it even showed signs of having given the teenager a bit of a bounce in strength.

Right away, Ciemnosc once more repeated a thrust, only for it to be blocked, sharpest edge vs ordinary edge. And yet it only created small cracks on the ordinary blade’s body. The next moment, Ciemnosc had retracted his sword and crazily sent it slashing diagonally down to the left, which was blocked halfway through Ciemnosc cutting a nice amount of the teenager’s skin before being broken at once.

Yet another time, Ciemnosc took out a sword and brandished it harder and faster than before just for a bit, with Wan Kangzhe blocking it off, and off and off…over and over and over and over again!!

The crowd could only see how, time after time, Wan Kangzhe had already been blocking several attacks coming from Ciemnosc’s blades and swords, but mostly swords. And how Ciemnosc ended up having gained more speed and greater strength put into each of his attacks after every few attacks now and then.

It looked like a game where Wan Kangzhe just planted himself on the ground, remained rooted, and a small kid was trying to beat him up with a stick only to be forced back every time and with the stick flying away every single time. But Wan Kangzhe wasn’t playing. He was trapped and still trying to free himself despite knowing that it would be hard with Ciemnosc around, but now realized that it would be impossible instead with this little demon restraining him.

It was either suffering a wound and freeing himself or protecting himself and clashing with Ciemnosc, who was considerably becoming much more efficient in his every attack and with his hits on his body ignoring more, more and more of the defenses brought to him by his Earth Element comprehension and - of power.

But now, as Ciemnosc’s face abruptly changed from calm and at ease to with a pair of serene, ultimately cold, and even somehow lifeless darkest pools as eyes, still with all of his sclerae in both eyes but with both his iris and pupils remaining so dark it was impossible to believe. Wan Kangzhe felt this small boy’s body become much faster, but his blade was not, as it seemed to exchange a lot of its speed for strength.

All of a sudden, Ciemnosc hacked down at Wan Kangzhe, and he was forced so quickly to not even block but to defend himself against such a seemingly ordinary attack. His right handed Mortal blade was raised to his chest, already prepared to meet head on this much stronger heavy attack from the kid.

Swish! Cuuuh~, Crrreees-clank! -shhhhkk!

“!!”

All of a sudden, as the crowd was admiring how Wan Kangzhe was easily fending off each and any attack from Ciemnosc and how the latter seemed like a novice before an expert in the path of blades.

It could be seen how Wan Kangzhe’s left side of his frontal body was immediately cut through before the Mortal grade blade could stop the ordinary blade but even after the resounding clash of steel against steel was heard, the tearing of one’s flesh, that of having it cut through - still kept on as if the ordinary blade was left alone but was indeed blocked off in motion!

While Ciemnosc held his ordinary blade and his body remained stagnant in midair just a few centimeters above half a meter from the floor with his ordinary blade also stagnant against the Mortal graded blade; the flesh under and below the teenager’s Mortal blade was continued to be cut through to the overly amazed eyes of Wan Kangzhe - who then felt and knew of a premonition.

But seeing those ultimately cold, serene, and lifeless eyes somehow stunned him, which was yet another miserable, fatal error on his stupid part. Ciemnosc touched the floor after a second, blood coming out of the teenager’s body and smearing the right side of his body from almost head to toe as only his neck got smeared by the teenager’s blood.

And what happened next was just a repeat of the same as before, but with much more intensity as each attack that the teenager received from the boy, the boy’s ordinary blade or sword that would break off after backing away in each attack would make a long gnash on a part of the teenager’s body; over and over again.

Cuuh- Crrreees- clank!- shhhhkk… Crrreees- clank!- shhhhkk… Crrreees- clank!- shhhhkk… Crrreees- clank!- shhhhkk… Crrreees- clank!- shhhhkk… Crrreees- clank!- shhhhkk…

“AAGHG HGWHWUAAA…AUWWRGHH GWUAHAAAKKH!” Every few attacks of Ciemnosc, some of his assaults weren’t just getting even more powerful. But even he chose to attack at the already cut through flesh whenever he felt that Wan Kangzhe’s patience and tolerance were dawdling. And he would make the teenager scream out or roar in pain.

The crowd became used to the roars, but it was still a way too much and a loud response that they were taken by surprise each time, especially those who were still not that advanced in their cultivation through the Link Consolidation Realm. And little by little, Wan Kangzhe’s strength began leaving his body and his posture became lower and lower.

“Huughff…” Scoffing out with a derisive snort through, both her nostrils and mouth, the blondie seated within the crowd yet with a large space in between them, and she became visibly annoyed when she saw the state Wan Kangzhe was being finally driven into.

“...” But even with all of this, that did not mean that Ciemnosc was completely harmless, since every time that the young woman with warm brown hair saw a blade covered by very light green ‘air’ make its way towards Ciemnosc’s torso, a small puddle of blood would come out and take a bit of his already slowed speed away.

Yet, they both had their faces either become more negatively affected or, more specifically for the woman of brown, become much more at ease when the next set of images replayed in their and everyone else’s eyes.

CLANK~~! Swish- thud… …Cuuuh~ crreeshhk! Cuu- crreeshhk!... crreeshhk!... crreeshhk!... crreeshhk…! crreeshhk…! crreeshhk… !...

Just as Wan Kangzhe did his utmost with his right Mortal blade to fend off another strong attack from Ciemnosc’s part, with his right foot not allowing him to fully kneel, and only half-kneeling with his left leg as he pressed his knee against the floor. He suddenly saw another opening as the sweaty, troubled Ciemnosc by his remaining energy let the teenager’s eyes become round and excited.

Right away, he sent his Mortal blade flying upwards with his right hand still grasping it. But before he could maneuver his hand holding the blade’s hilt into Ciemnosc’s body in his eyes, he simply let go of it and watched as it flew towards Ciemnosc’s left side of his chest, close to where his heart was.

‘Ah, crap.’ Ciemnosc thought as he felt the Mortal blade lunge at his heart, yet…just when the crowd’s eyes were popping out of their sockets and their halted heartbeats were waiting for that ‘extremely heroic’ comeback - the blade simply went through Ciemnosc’s uniform, which had become tattered already and…it ricocheted without even seemingly any rebound back.

Only, the blade spun and spun ‘casually’ through the air as it landed 2 meters away from a hacking down Ciemnosc and a Wan Kangzhe whose spirit had all gone away at these very moments. Then, once the Mortal grade blade landed on the ground, it suddenly became extremely active, ricocheting from the ground with utter speed such that it crossed over 30 meters in just 2 seconds and cracked open a hole in the arena’s barrier.

“Ah, yo-” Wan Kangzhe was overly shocked, at this new discovery, for as he had never felt that Ciemnosc had any equipment below his uniform clothes, and it was even more evident for anyone else that wasn’t even fighting him since his sensual, 10 year old boy and attractive muscular body akin to that of someone of Wan Kangzhe’s age was visible through some holes here and there - especially his torso, limbs and back which made the girls faint a few times already.

Yet, the moment Wan Kangzhe was the one and only to directly experience and know what happened, with the referee being more than 40 meters away with his Spirit Gathering Realm’s Spirit Sense of a maximum of 10 meters which might not even be half of that amount for himself, was the moment Ciemnosc felt alerted and only after looking at Wan Kangzhe’s face for a couple of seconds, he put a lot of strength but not even 60% of such into his attacks and began slashing, hacking, swiping, ‘hammering’ and even slapping the teenager’s body with sword after sword and blade after blade.

Despite not being able to protect himself anymore, every attack made by Ciemnosc had two reasons for such to break; one, because the strength he was using was already up to 6 times the amount that an ordinary blade could withstand, and two, because Wan Kangzhe’s body was so resistant that the blades of his ordinary swords and blades would directly fall off and become pieces scattering all around; some even landing on Ciemnosc to not even tickle him in the slightest.

But other pieces also landed back on Wan Kangzhe’s body, which inflicted superficial wounds on his body, over and over and over again - as Ciemnosc clearly demonstrated how much of a hurry he was in to kill the former.

“AAH- HAWHAB- BASHABAHAAHH WAAHHH…!!” At some point, Ciemnosc had gone mindless for more than a dozen seconds. He couldn’t tell how badly shaped Wan Kangzhe was until he stopped and looked with clarity and used his Spirit Sense at the same time to witness a mangled and mashed through a bunch of flesh, blood, some organs, and with some bones littering about.

He was surprised that even after doing this much damage, Wan Kangzhe was still capable of…breathing, the fuck?

But just as he looked down, the almost complete head with most of his shoulders still there but seriously injured, his chest opened and a sternum no longer there, with his abdomen gone and his right foot made thin pieces of everything while his hands were able to move, but their skeleton was visible; its flesh having been cut off cleanly that it looked like a 300 years old immortal skeleton.

In any case, the Wan Kangzhe in his current state was able to feel Ciemnosc’s glare, which the teenager then cleared his throat as much as he could, looking up at Ciemnosc with semi blind eyes as he was having his life leaving his body…

“Ciemnosc…come closer, I’v-... I’ve failed…to be the one to protect you…”

‘Oh boy…here we go.’
