Oceanic Rivers Domination
From the distance, Anastasia could see countless battle array formations formed by the elite soldier units who brought many of their troops to battle. Wherever soldier units fell quickly and were blocked or even forced to retreat and give the terrain they barely gained to the enemy on their warships, these would move around and lend them a hand before proceeding with the next targets. If this wasn't an army made from many others from outside the Calatida Region, Heian Ciemnosc would've created a special forces unit with the elite soldier units.
Anastasia also had a battle array formation energy around her body. However, it wasn’t because she’d fight, nor was she the person who effectuated it. The murky brown energy around her was like an octopus ink, and Heian Ciemnosc, who stood behind her, had a tentacle energy connected with her Dantian from behind.
Currently, the enemy was being mowed, but several soldier units were also killed in return. This wasn’t a simple war anymore, and while the magnitude was even smaller than the Existences’ war Heian Ciemnosc became a star in, the casualty rate wasn’t small. An enemy in this Step of their organization couldn’t be unprepared regarding cultivator armies.
“The number of deaths is increasing. Remember, I won’t help you this time. This isn’t practicing, and I won’t participate.” Heian Ciemnosc softly spoke behind Anastasia like a demon gnawing at her consciousness. Anastasia was calm, though. She frowned and lowered her head, pensive.
“Vice commanders, I ask of you, have you seen any Fauna movement so far? Our warships didn’t respond before, but now?” Anastasia spoke to her medallion. Her words caused the Fleet commander to fight several hundred meters from Anastasia, standing behind the line his crew members formed and executing any enemy who did their best to breakthrough, protecting Anastasia.
Her words made the vice commander frown, but it wasn’t only him that was contacted. The other Fleets’ commanders and vice commanders in the Fleets heard the same. The 2nd Fleet’s third fighting and stopping the enemy Fleet further up north only had 3 vice commanders with them besides the Fleet commander, as the other Fleet commander had rejoined the land forces.
Thus, from the 20 vice commanders, only 4 were in the 2nd Fleet fighting up the northern oceanic river. At this moment, they felt as if they had let go of a very possible, threatening variable. The vice commanders in the 2nd Fleet stepped back and ordered a sturdier defense as they circulated their Vigor Energy and scanned with their superior Farsighted realm’s Spirit Sense.
“!!” Their eyes widened in unwarranted surprise and relief.
SPLUUUSHH- SPLAAASSH~! ROOOOOOAAAR~! ROOAAR! ROAR~~~!!
Behind and at the left from the direction where the special operation’s 2nd Fleet came from, the water exploded upwards several hundred meters before crashing against the water’s surface. On the other hand, gigantic bodies continued soaring into the sky as the vice commanders’ eyes hardened and Anastasia’s pitch-black eyes contained cold traces encrusted with murder.
“There aren’t many of them!” Anastasia shouted as she aimed her left index finger at the dozen Farsighted realm Preternaturals. They towered and looked below for a few seconds before moving. With her words, the 4 vice commanders present rose into the sky and attracted their attention. Anastasia spoke into her medallion again, “I solicit more support from vice commanders! The enemy has subjugated some of them. The 2nd Fleet won’t hold for long!”
“They’re all attacking the 2nd Fleet’s third portion that I led to the north. We’ll resist as much as possible, but don’t let us die here against aquatic worms!” Anastasia gritted her teeth before helplessly looking at the fighting vice commanders. Her face remained the same, and she clenched her fists before returning her eyes to the battlefield where she could at least influence.
There were other Officers in the Farsighted realm. However, those were left behind with the rest of the 2nd Fleet with the last vice commander they had. As for the vice commanders in the land forces, some would temporarily lead double the soldier units they should until the rest of the vice commanders in the Fleets could be replaced and leave the Fleets with 1 vice commander.
However, with how things have been escalating, that might take more time than expected. The battle on the crashed warships against each other continued. Anastasia advanced a little, giving orders and causing the soldier units to feel more pressure. She wasn’t stopping her actions. It made them push forwards forcefully. They couldn’t let their supreme commander down, and leave his daughter unprotected!
“We’re sending 2 each, they’ll arrive in a few minutes. The ruling organizations have sent 3 to aid you!” A voice emerged from Anastasia’s medallion, which only she could hear. Her eyes glinted, content with the solution. She said nothing and continued stepping forward every 2 or 3 seconds.
“Rwwaaagh!” The soldier units were constantly pressured to advance. At some point, the defensive frontline the vice commanders ordered finally changed, and Anastasia gave the order to push all out. On the other hand, the enemy had their morale increasing after seeing the southern military Farsighted realm cultivators busied with the gigantic Preternaturals.
“HAAARRGGH!” The soldier units became more incensed as their numbers, lesser than the enemy, were still superior in their sudden advancement. The elite soldier units at certain intervals, prepared for that order by Anastasia’s orders beforehand, lashed out, with some of them sacrificing their blood essence. Immediately, Elemental Arts hundreds of meters long with a diameter of 10 meters and Art techniques barraged the enemy in front.
PSHIIIIIIIIIFFTT-~! BRAAAAAKKK- BAAANG!
“WAAAAAAHH!” - “DAMMIT!” - “Retreat- don’t face it direc- shit!” - “It’s blood essence- forbidden Arts! Aaaggh!!” The enemy soldier units saw the enormous gap, taking tens of thousands of lives at once before finally deciding to concede the territory. However, the Art techniques they saw didn’t lose energy volume and instead continued lunging at them.
The gap became wider as the elite soldier units created enough breaches for the soldier units to rush forward. The enemy was stumbled down and then kicked by the same as they lost their advantage, and hundreds of thousands started falling as the southern soldier units went all out while slightly ignoring their well-being and safety.
However, being close to the 2nd Fleet warships, Anastasia’s orders made the navigating experts the order to divide the Elemental Water Eye to the soldier units so their chests, shoulders, and hips were protected as they advanced. The soldier units’ offensive was brutal, truly not caring about themselves other than to avoid killing each other as they destroyed the enemy.
The small traces of Elemental Water Eye protecting their bodies was enough to block any basic attack. Even those that reached the spots in between found it difficult to smoothly cut through the soldier units’ inner crystallized armor.
The enemy no longer had thoughts of the southern Farsighted realm cultivators caught in a death trap against the gigantic Preternaturals. They were too busy strategically retreating and watching their comrades die, as they could do nothing but stare for a second before retreating for their lives.
‘This shouldn’t be like this! How could it become like this?! It wasn’t supposed to be this hefty… Why is the south so adamant in killing us? We are from the same Kingdom, and we are just fighting for a Region, nothing else! Why?!!’
Such a thought emerged in many enemies’ heads as they retreated, watching the soldier units they had trained with and practiced situations with for years falling like chicken whose necks were twisted by the southern Fleet. The rest couldn’t even form a thought as they fled for their lives with snot and sobs smeared on their faces. The southerners battled as if this was their last chance to participate, and they would die after tomorrow.
The enemy couldn’t deal with such a wall as tremendous as the special operation’s crew members. They were supposed to attract a small portion of the enemy and trap it, with the subjugated gigantic Preternaturals’ attacking their rear in the middle of a battle. But before any of that went according to plan, the southern navy suddenly broke their speed limit and lunged at them!
“Aaah!!!” An enemy crew member held his head with twisted fingers and roared to the sky. Suddenly, his forcefully shut eyes relaxed, and as if thinking of something, the crew member looked up as hope filled his eyes. However, his face fell, and despair flooded his eyes’ contents as he watched the skies.
POAM- BANG- ROAAAR! CRASHSHH! POOOMMM~!...
The Preternaturals they sacrificed 2 Fleets and a half to subjugate were being brutally beaten by 16 Farsighted realm cultivators. Furthermore, 6 of those were recognized as the southern ruling organizations’ cultivators! The south wasn’t just fighting them to probe that they weren’t to mess with. The south initiated a war to annihilate them!
In the skies, several tens of kilometers above the battlefield, where blood and skin of many colors lay on the floor wherever the southern crew members passed, a dozen gigantic Preternaturals were being used as punching bags by all Arts and weapons’ energy attacks.
Enormous hands forming fists, fingers, seals, and energy bursts exploding from their translucent palms broke scales, fur, and hide as blood spluttered and small pieces of flesh flew away. The Preternaturals were hit with constant, varying Elemental Arts and Art techniques, but they weren’t idle.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
The movements from the Preternaturals weren’t a game, but before they were completed, at least 5 southerner cultivators would’ve joined hands and formed a barrier along with that insufferable watery barrier from the spaceships and protecting their crew members acting as crazed soldier units below.
There was a stalemate, but the balance slowly leaned towards the 16 Farsighted realm cultivators. Despite the Preternaturals not losing too much against 4 more in the same realm, with varying stages, they were resilient and had strong vigor within their blood and flesh. The Farsighted realm cultivators they faced weren’t the same they had in the past, not just recently.
In under 15 minutes, as half the enemy warships were cleaned off from even the enemy auxiliary units, the Preternaturals were in a sorry state, but before they could flee or save a few of their kin, a Monster appeared from behind them past the Regional borders.
RAAAAAAAAAWWWWWRR! SPLAAAAASHHHH~~ GUUUUURRGGLEEE~~!
A Dormant Magma Shark appeared from nowhere, its body lunging several thousand kilometers until reaching before them. Its dark-gray scales were like a warship taking life in the night as lightning and black clouds formed millions of kilometers above. A heavy rain followed Alejandro, who hadn’t lost his Water elemental affinity, and a reddish cage formed around the Preternaturals, the Farsighted realm cultivators, and himself.
Before anyone could react, the cultivators fortunately recognized who Alejandro was as he bit the back of a cobra serpent-looking gigantic Preternatural before bringing it down with him into the water. His actions forced the other Preternaturals to stop and reveal dignified expressions as a brand-new Farsighted realm small stage Monster brought 1 of them down like it was nothing.
No matter how ferocious they had been so far, their spirit faltered, and they started falling one by one to the Myriad Races’ hands. As per orders before the incursion began, no mercy to anyone who opposed them. These remaining dozen gigantic Preternaturals, leading figures of the last living clans in the northern oceanic river, were massacred!
“Huaaaahh!” When this happened, the soldier units below revealed even fiercer expressions. They looked into the sky before setting their murderous eyes on the enemy on their level. Then, when they wanted it the most, as the elite soldier units felt their skin brimming with excitement, Anastasia’s beautiful, sweet voice sounding colder than ever was like the heavens giving them a life goal.
“See the enemy before you, destroy it!!”
“HUAAA!!” STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP!!
A few tens of millions of soldier units was all the world needed to wreak havoc, and nature to send hurricanes at nearly 400 kph everywhere around the crashed warships. There was no stepping away, but ¼ of the enemy wanted to live, if to at least fight another day and not escape from the Region.
PSHIIIIIIIIFT~! BAANG! WHOOOOOSH~! CLAAANK- CUUUH- PSHIFT~! But the soldier units wouldn’t give them that chance. The moment the war started was when the southern soldier units became the killing machines they came here to be. Even if they hadn’t, after the Crimsonbreaking Faction’s training regimen, they were now!
After the Preternaturals were finished, the ruling organizations’ Farsighted realm cultivators didn’t leave. They remained on the warships to ensure the battle’s so-called fairness, in case the enemy brought Farsighted realm cultivators in vendetta.
“...” Heian Ciemnosc looked at everything from afar. He was already quite a few kilometers from where Anastasia stood. He looked at his back and mentally smiled, knowing his daughter had become prepared enough that she didn’t need his advice or help anymore. Still, he could stay a few more weeks and then leave for another interesting matter outside the Calatida Region.
Initially, he wanted to have a negotiation talk with the north, so no Farsighted realm cultivators would send their few Central Formation realm soldier units against the Mythical realm soldier units, even if they could be present during battles and defend whatever strategic point they wanted to maintain. And so that no Farsighted realm cultivators were involved in direct fighting.
However, Heian Ciemnosc felt it was no longer necessary. The Third Step organizations would still have a slip up like that every now and then. However, this enemy seemed decent, and even if they weren’t, they had the awareness to know they’d lose as soon as it happened. Nobody can face peak Universe realm cultivators, even if they are a full-fledged Third Step organization with a grand array formation.
… The battle continued, with Heian Ciemnosc looking from afar with his arms crossed behind his lower back. He advanced so he could keep the Octotribulation Ink battle array formation connected. Meanwhile, Anastasia became more calm as the battle continued.
The enemy, which once pushed her crew members backward as their vice commanders were obstructed, were now facing the tens of millions with more than double their size, but to no avail. The enemy fell 1 in 30, courtesy of the mixed enemy crew members that didn’t want to fight with those who resolved their lives to defend the north.
A third of their numbers slammed each other, trying to flee from the side. But by the time the enemy seemed to rethink and wanted to retreat altogether, leaving their precious, last warships from the lack of Fleets they had after subjugating those ‘good-for-nothing’ gigantic Preternaturals. The other few million crew members getting rid of the small fry in the battlefield cornered the enemy defending themselves throughout several Low Battleships.
Having surrounded the enemy, they had no choice but to die! They were overwhelmed by the incessant stamina and might the southern soldier units had. For once, they had the fleeting thought that they should have perhaps joined the south instead, but that was only for a second or 2, and just before dying.
2 hours later, the enemy was in this location was a goner. Meanwhile, the soldier units that disembarked and went inland since the beginning had long entered the first settlements. The crew members suffered some losses, but it was completely doable. They could continue their job and move backwards after offering the soldier units support from the oceanic riverbanks.
They were tired, unlike what the enemy thought before they died individually. But, could they take a step back and rest? Of course not! The crew members didn’t have resting time, and only the citizens that remained in the warships, initially strapping themselves to safety gadgets just before the massive collision, had already separated the warships from the enemy warships, destroyed and lightly sinking.
However, the enemy warships wouldn’t sink, as they weren’t damaged beyond half their structures. Even then, the 2nd Fleet couldn’t deal with the salvaging for now. They must rejoin the rest of their Fleet and move to the southwest of the enemy’s Northeastern territory. Those 2 forts mentioned before were a dangerous threat, and just 2 Fleets wouldn’t protect the land forces enough.
As for the soldier units that the 2nd and 4th Fleets disembarked further up north of the northern oceanic river, they weren’t near enemy forts like the land forces the 1st and 3rd Fleets had to protect.
“Move out!” - “What are you waiting for? Faster!” - “I said faster! That’s not fast enough! Who wants to be disciplined? I’ll note your names and rat faces down! Come on!!”
Step, step, step, step, step, step, step, step, step!! The crew members rushed back to their warships, leaving array formations behind from the auxiliary units’ hands who rapidly spread out every time after the crew members pushed forth, now returning at top speed with the rest. They heard their military units’ officials shout at them, making them move with swiftness and more hurry than ever.
They rapidly returned to their warships, which most of their auxiliary units, all citizens, and central command personnel remained behind with the arsenal ready to be utilized if necessary. Luckily, it wasn’t needed, and now, they had to return after leaving the surveillance array formations behind. They would return once the land forces had enough firepower calculated to aid them and bring these Fleets to good use in the future.
However, there was a change of plans in the offensive. Anastasia reported the situation with the northern oceanic river aquatic Fauna clans, and their extermination. With this information reaching the military headquarters in the Small City, they responded positively to Anastasia’s request.
Thus, after returning to the place where they disembarked their soldier units, the 2nd and 4th Fleets supported the land forces with firepower before Anastasia brought another third of her and the 4th Fleets’ warships to deal with the remaining aquatic Fauna clans they had left alone before phase 4’s beginning.
Another 2 thirds came from the 1st and 3rd Fleets, which accompanied her leadership when they passed behind them as they first went to the eastern oceanic rivers, where the remaining 2 aquatic Fauna clan were then exterminated. Several dozen Officers followed her leadership. Since the other Fleets would remain behind and only use their arsenal, all other Officers would cooperate to kill these gigantic Preternaturals.
The eastern oceanic river Fauna presented a little trouble, but it was handled with fewer casualties than expected. Nevertheless, under Anastasia’s leadership, they went to the southern oceanic river to deal with the remaining aquatic Fauna clan there. But not without destroying the small port-like tower the enemy built in the eastern oceanic river.
Nothing that an all-out bombardment for a few seconds couldn’t do with a measly tower on the norther side of the oceanic river.
After smoothly dealing with the remaining southern aquatic Fauna clan, which tried to hide but were forced out with a dozen Officers diving with overly powerful, energy consuming Arts, forcing the Fauna to stop them. That initiated their massacre.
Afterwards, the temporary Fleet sailed to the west. There, the aquatic Fauna clan was first destroyed, followed by the enemy port-tower built at the extreme of the Calatida Region’s border.
Nevertheless, after the western aquatic Fauna clan was exterminated, the Fleet resulted in receiving quite some damage, but it could be repaired while they returned to their respective Fleets and bombarded from afar. It would be weeks before the Fleets could be relieved of their supporting role. Of course, now that they realized the enemy had built forts, albeit incomparable to those in the south, this supporting role became more important.
Such that Anastasia’s requested change in the strategy was accepted, with the land forces Army Groups forced to halt for a few hours after the battle up north finished. But the opportunity to cleanly destroy the remaining aquatic Fauna clan couldn’t be left behind. Otherwise, the plans wouldn’t have changed much.
Now that it happened, Anastasia was to return to support the land forces. However, she also had to rejoin them as soon as he got there. She was one of the officers leading about 100,000 soldier units below an Army Group commander. She couldn’t be faulty.
Thus, as the Fleets returned to the bombardment, receiving firepower and shelling from the enemy forts, attracting their attention, while the land forces fortified several villages while waiting for a few hours. It was doable, but only for a few hours, and their time was running out.
Anastasia’s expression went from one of being pressured in her first day as an actual leading figure… to enjoying the breeze of the salty waters, knowing she’d be far from them in the following years.
Her pitch-black eyes were fully opened as she gazed at the setting sunlight, and felt the world working to show her what life is meant to be as a cultivator… As someone who strides for the world’s peak!
‘Is this what was in your mind when you were younger than me, father?’ Anastasia thought as a small, light smile formed on her lips before she returned to the central commands. She had to thank the vice commander, Fleet commander, who aided her a lot in this incursion.
Nevertheless, the war was just starting.
…
